• helping to develop our research strategy
• identifying research questions alongside colleagues in Youth Futures
• working closely with our research partners and suppliers so that projects are delivered on time and to budget; and ensuring that all research outputs are consistently high quality and make clear, practical and impactful recommendations for practice and policy.

This role can be based at any of our hubs located in Birmingham, Leeds or London.  We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

About Pathfinders Neuromuscular Alliance

Pathfinders is a user-led charity run by and for people living with muscle-weakening conditions. We support disabled people and those who employ personal assistants (PAs) through peer support, information, training, and advocacy. We believe in the power of lived experience and centre disabled voices in everything we do.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Project Coordinator to lead the delivery of an exciting new learning and development project for individual employers and personal assistants. The project will support people who employ PAs through direct payments and their PAs to develop the knowledge and skills they need through videos, peer-led training, discussion sessions, and case studies.

You will oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of the project, ensuring activities run smoothly, are well-attended, and meet the needs of learners. You’ll work closely with people with lived experience of employing PAs, guest speakers, partner organisations, and the wider Pathfinders team to deliver high-quality, accessible training and resources.

We will prioritise applications from people with lived experience of employing PAs, or who have supported others to do so.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the delivery of the training project, including scheduling and facilitating sessions, managing communications, and tracking progress against objectives.

• Work with Pathfinders staff, guest speakers and people with lived experience to produce a series of bite-sized training videos for PAs and employers.

• Organise and support delivery of:

  • Fortnightly peer-learning sessions for PA employers

  • Monthly case study sessions for PAs

  • Monthly “Train the Trainer” classes for employers

• Engage and support participants, including managing bookings, sending reminders, and providing follow-up information.

• Promote the project in collaboration with our communications team and external partners, including disability charities, PA networks, and local authorities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

•Serve as the organisations designated DPO as per UK GDPR requirements.
•Monitor internal compliance with data protection laws and conduct regular audits.
•Advise on data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), especially for projects involving sensitive health data and cross-border data transfers.
•Develop and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and training programs.
•Act as the main point of contact with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and respond to data subject access requests (DSARs).
•Work with field teams and local partners to ensure data protection standards are upheld in challenging operational environments.
•Provide guidance to staff and partners on the lawful basis for data collection, retention schedules, and consent mechanisms.
•Conduct regular training and awareness sessions for all staff, tailoring to job function and location.
•Support incident response and breach reporting processes in line with legal requirements.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

Experience & Certifications/Qualifications:
•Strong understanding of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and other relevant legislation.
•Hands-on experience responding to Subject Access Requests (SARs), managing data breaches, and liaising with regulators (ICO)
•At least 3 years of experience in a data protection or compliance role, preferably within the charity, NGO, or healthcare sectors.
•Experience handling sensitive personal data, including health and biometric data.
•Ability to interpret complex legal requirements and translate them into practical guidance.
•Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity, especially in cross-cultural and humanitarian contexts.
•Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

•Data Protection Officer certification (e.g., CIPP/E, BCS,GDPR Practitioner or equivalent).
•Experience working with or in the Middle East region.
•Familiarity with international humanitarian data ethics, especially when working in conflict zones or with at-risk populations.

You will have experience leading the setup of high-profile services within the health and social care setting. Operation Christmas Child UK (OCC) has implemented a strategic volunteer ministry, investing in teams of volunteers who will multiply themselves and hugely extend the reach of OCC’s mission.

OCC is the world’s largest shoebox appeal where Samaritan’s Purse, together with local churches here and overseas, distributes from the UK 1/4 million gift-filled shoeboxes annually to children in need overseas and in so doing demonstrates God’s love in a tangible way while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

A resourceful and energetic Regional Manager is needed to recruit, select, equip, and lead teams of volunteers throughout the 32 London boroughs.

You will be passionate about developing others towards highly effective ministry, teamwork and increased personal competency.

You will also directly engage churches to participate in OCC in areas not yet covered by Connect volunteers. A special opportunity will be engaging London churches that have partnered with our sister ministry, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association for the June 2025 God Loves You Tour London.

You will be confident to take initiative with people and projects and also have good administrative and organisational skills. You will also enjoy envisioning the numerous volunteers who participate in the OCC shoebox appeal each year.

You will enthusiastically support the Christian purposes of OCC and Samaritan’s Purse and be committed to the value of well-equipped volunteers and to developing them further. Candidates will have proven people and project management and administrative experience in the workplace and be educated to A levels or ideally Degree level.

This role is based in region, and so prospective candidates should currently live in the region and provide their own transport for which defined expenses will be paid.
