The Chartered College of Teaching is currently working on a number of exciting projects, and is looking for an EdTech Evidence Lead who will play a key role in the success of these projects. By joining our team as EdTech Evidence Lead, you’ll be helping us to support educators and EdTech companies to strengthen their use of evidence and build understanding around the effectiveness of EdTech products in schools and colleges. 

The role will run until March 2026 in the first instance, with potential for extension.

Job Title: EdTech Evidence Lead
Salary: circa £40,000 per annum dependent on experience
Contract: Fixed term until March 2026 with possibility of extension. Open to full-time/part time/freelance. A full working week is 35 hours and we offer flexible working options. We are open to full time or part time candidates.

The Opportunity

The EdTech Evidence Lead will play a key role in delivering one of our key projects, focusing on EdTech Evidence. Drawing on their experience and knowledge of EdTech, they will support EdTech companies and educators to build understanding about gathering and evaluating evidence for different EdTech products. They will develop guidance and materials to facilitate this, and work with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to develop resources, systems and processes that aim to promote and recognise ‘high-quality’ evidence around EdTech. 

Main responsibilities include:

• Developing tools and resources to support individuals and organisations to engage with, and in, gathering and evaluating evidence around EdTech
• Developing guidance and training which helps EdTech companies plan and carry out evidence-gathering activities for their products and prepares them to submit evidence for formal review
• Contributing to the development and delivery of processes and systems for formally reviewing EdTech evidence
• Build relationships with EdTech companies and other key stakeholders to understand their use of evidence relating to EdTech and engage them with the project
• Liaising with a range of stakeholders to promote the use of EdTech evidence and seek input into the design and development of key project deliverables
• Representing the project externally to promote engagement with both the project, and with EdTech evidence generally
• Leading on the delivery of key project deliverables and monitoring progress towards these.

Additionally:

• Attending and participate in CPD learning activities and training to maintain and develop your knowledge and skills 
• Arranging and participate in meetings, as required

About the Role:

As GPAC’s Planning and Performance Lead you will help us understand how the department is contributing towards WaterAid’s global strategy and maximise our global impact. The role will support GPAC’s work by leading the planning and performance assessment work, focussing on ensuring that the advocacy activity delivered across the department is aligned and working towards the same outcomes.

The role will work closely with the Directors in GPAC’s SMT and with members of the International Programmes Department (IPD) SMT to ensure that both departments’ plans are aligned. It will also engage with key Federation members involved in global policy, advocacy and campaigns work, with the WaterAid International Secretariat, and with the Global and UK performance, strategy and planning teams.

In this role, you will lead the design of the planning process for the department to deliver annual plans, ensuring alignment with similar processes in key Federation members and other departments, as well as being integrated with the wider organisation’s planning cycles.

You’ll also: 

• Project manage the implementation of the planning process, working in close coordination with GPAC SMT directors as well as and as relevant with other WaterAid, Member and WaterAid International directors.
• Lead the process to deliver an M&E framework for GPAC (including new metrics as relevant), that balances the effort required with the need to drive data informed decisions and actions.
• Run the quarterly and annual reporting cycle, working with senior leaders in GPAC to deliver high quality data, run learning sessions to reflect on the data to enable data driven and effective decision making.
• Manage the regular collation of data across the department and shared to the wider organisation, including to the Executive and Board reporting processes
• Represent GPAC in wider WaterAid UK and global groups around performance and planning.
• Support GPAC to partner closely with IPD to track Country Programme support requests, and use insights to inform strategic planning of the department.
• Be the internal communications lead for the department on matters related to planning and performance, working with the central internal communications function as appropriate.

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Experience of leading performance and planning cycles within complex organisations.
• Background in M&E within NGO or comparable contexts. Understands the complexity around assessing performance.
• Excellent project management skills to optimise the use of resources; manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities using insightful interpretation and resourceful solutions.
• Ability to think strategically across complex and fast-moving environments; able to concentrate on the big picture and respond to trends and shifts in the wider world.

Job description – Cara Funding and Communications Manager

 

This is a critical time to join our dedicated team as we expand our work in response to the growing risk to academics and universities worldwide. Building on our 93 years of experience and partnerships with 135 UK university, this role provides an excellent opportunity for a dynamic fundraiser to grow our support from individual and organisations.

Line Manager: Chief Executive

Objective: The Funding and Communications Manger leads on the delivery of our fundraising strategy to diversify and grow Cara’s income streams.

Hours: Full-time. Eight hours each day Monday – Friday, with flexible working by arrangement around core hours of 10am – 4pm.

Location: Hybrid working - in London office in Elephant and Castle SE1 (2-3 set days per week) and working from home on the remaining days.

Role purpose - responsible for executing fundraising strategy to generate increased income for Cara’s work - identify and cultivate potential donors, manage fundraising events and campaigns, and ensure compliance with fundraising regulations. 

Detailed responsibilities:

· Fundraising Strategy and business plan:

Work closely with the Chief Executive to review and adapt our fundraising strategy and business plan and produce analytics to review performance by income type and to help set stretching and achievable targets and improvement plans for each income stream. Implement and develop fundraising plans, including initiation and management of campaigns. Take responsibility for developing new income streams and products including alumni and legacy giving.

· Relationship Building:

Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors, including individuals, major donors, and foundations. Work with the Cara team to ensure effective relationship management across all donors and lead on donor identification for all income streams. Identify opportunities for pro bono support in support of the Cara strategy.

· Event Management:

Organize and manage fundraising events, ensuring successful execution and high engagement with our target audiences. This includes a schedule of location-based university engagement events (up to twelve per year) to engage existing individual donors, build awareness of Cara’s work, and cultivate new individual donors. Collaborate with contacts at each university to plan, deliver and follow up on each event. Lead on other key Cara events including the annual science and civilisation lecture to ensure that these build the Cara brand.

· Data Management for donor stewardship:

Maintain accurate donor records (on salesforce) and build and maintain fundraising databases for individuals and organisational donors to manage engagement throughout the donor journey. Maintain a view of Cara’s pipeline income to support the work of the Cara management team and reports to support accountability and trustee engagement including return on investment for each income stream.

· Communication:

Prepare and distribute fundraising materials, including appeals, newsletters, social media content, and articles for the website. Develop a range of case-studies profiling the work of Cara (including programmes, university partners, and individual academics). Collaborate closely with the Chief Executive to build the Cara brand through co-ordination of Cara’s presence at events and through priority digital channels.

· Proposal writing

Lead on proposal writing for major donors and philanthropic funding. Collaborate with colleagues on larger grants taking responsibility to overall proposal quality and timely submission. Ensure that the team work to agreed standards on all written reports and proposals to donors.

· Compliance:

Adhering to fundraising regulations, such as those outlined by the Fundraising Regulator, and ensuring that all fundraising activities are ethical and legal. Develop policies and practices to manage risk including appropriate due diligence and gift acceptance policies.

· Trends

Stay up to date on signals and trends in fundraising relevant to Cara’s work and use these to inform our business planning and risk/opportunity management.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

· Proven success implementing effective strategies to raise income from a range of donors with a focus on major donors.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to effectively communicate with donors including senior staff at universities.

· Strong writing and presentation skills: Developing winning proposals and presentations. Experience ranging from individual regular donors to six figure grants.

About the role

As the GIS Manager, you will lead the strategic use of GIS at Sustrans, embedding spatial tools and data across the organisation. You’ll manage a small team of talented GIS Officers, support projects, and drive the development of our ArcGIS and FME architecture. • Additional long service holiday award – after 3 years at Into Film, staff are awarded one extra day of holiday for each additional year worked, with the total entitlement capped at 35 days, i.e. on your 4th anniversary at Into Film your leave entitlement will rise to 29 days, on your 5th anniversary, your entitlement will go up by another day to 30 days etc.
