Job Description  

Reporting to the Head of Income Generation and Fundraising, we are looking for someone with a passion for helping vulnerable young people to achieve their potential and who is excited by playing their part in raising funds towards our £1 million target. Working in our small Income Generation Team, you will have responsibility for writing compelling proposals and reports that showcase the impact of our work. You will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with current and potential funders, building and stewarding our restricted income pipeline which you will own.

We are looking for someone with a strong track record of securing funding, preferably within the youth, sport for development or health & wellbeing sector. Strong attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Key responsibilities  

Fundraising and business development  

• Write compelling funding proposals and cases for support, from £5000 to £100,000s

• Own and grow Trusts and Grants pipeline, identifying and researching new funding opportunities 

• Cultivate and steward relationships with new and existing funders

• Represent Trust at programmes, events, funder meetings

Relationship Management 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential funders

• Ensure effective communication with funders, providing high quality reports and updates 

• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure funded projects deliver maximum, demonstratable impact in line with funder expectations

Managing systems and processes 

• Create a calendar of opportunities for grant submissions, ensure application deadlines are met

• Maintain accurate and up to date funder records in Trust’s CRM system, Salesforce 

• Maintain efficient systems for tracking applications and reporting

• Work closely with Senior Finance Manager to ensure restricted income is accurately forecasted and updated accordingly

We are  recruiting for a Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager (High Value) to join Mary’s Meals UK. ​The Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager (High-Value) will be responsible for the development and implementation of the team’s Donor Advised Funds (DAF) programme. As a growing area of focus for the team, the role holder will have a significant impact on the strategic development of Donor Advised Funds fundraising at Mary’s Meals. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Support the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships (PAP) to develop and implement the High Value Donor fundraising strategy​

• Build and steward relationships with Donor Advised Funds, both those we already receive funds from and others across the UK. These relationships will enthuse and encourage Donor Advised Funds to market Mary’s Meals to their donors, resulting in significant gifts to Mary’s Meals, long-term support, and mutually beneficial partnerships​

• Identify and secure partnerships with new Donor Advised Providers and Funders, developing warm trusting relationships and appropriate stewardship plans​

• Identify appropriate communication possibilities to communicate to our supporters about the possibility of giving through Donor Advised Funds such as through marketing emails or our website​

• Identify data needs for recording and managing Donor Advised Funds and donors on our CRM and Dashboard systems​

• Work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to expand the organisation’s High Value giving portfolio by proactively identifying and securing new philanthropic opportunities​

• Manage relationships with existing High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs), including those that give through non-cash assets such as shares or where there is potential to engage them through the prospect of DAF giving​

• Support the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to develop proposals and presentations to attract new innovative philanthropic opportunities

• Work as part of a wider Philanthropy and Partnerships team providing support to other Philanthropy Managers in their respective areas and leveraging and maximising fundraising opportunities​

• Collaborate with colleagues across Major Giving and Partnerships (MGAP), Communications, Mary’s Meals International and Data Insights teams to build appropriate supporter journey, communication and engagement opportunities for UK DAF and HNWI Engagement.​

About you:

• At least 3 years of relationship-driven high value fundraising and account management ​

• Ability to think strategically and manage a large and complex workload with good attention to detail​

• Experience working proactively with an entrepreneurial approach to network building ​

• Experience of identifying and cultivating new business approaches so as to grow the high-value portfolio ​

About the Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT)

PSTT is a registered charity with a clear vision – we want to see excellent teaching of science in every primary classroom in the UK. We believe it is vital that children are engaged and inspired by science from an early age. We want to draw on their natural curiosity to help them explore, understand and ask questions about the world around them.

We’ve built a Primary Science Teacher College of over 200 outstanding teachers; each helping to shape and influence science teaching across the UK. We produce great resources that improve how science is taught and planned. We organise engaging professional learning events for teachers, and work with partner organisations to further enhance how science is taught. Our 2023-28 strategy is building on these strengths to reach more teachers across a more diverse range of schools.

We’re dedicating our most intensive efforts to areas of the UK requiring most development in primary science. Our Priority Areas initiative is being piloted in 30 schools, and in September 2025 we plan to launch this programme in a further 30 schools. Our Regional Mentors have worked with more than 3,000 schools across England, with exceptionally positive feedback.

Job summary

There are two parts to the Primary Science Mentor role. The majority of the role will focus on strengthening primary science teaching and leadership by leading our second Priority Areas initiative. Through their knowledge of and passion for primary science education, the successful candidate will inspire transformational change in schools taking part in this project. They will build close working relationships with participating schools and create a vibrant and exciting learning community based on mutual support and the sharing of expertise.

The remaining hours in the role will be as a Regional Mentor: joining PSTT’s growing team of primary science experts who provide bespoke support directly to individual schools, multi-academy trusts and other school groupings and organisations. This includes developing and delivering training in a variety of contexts, including online; working individually with Science Leaders; being a leading voice, expert and advocate for primary science (both regionally and nationally); and creating partnerships with other organisations that support science within the region.

A crucial part of the role is to ensure collection of appropriate data for both Priority Areas and Regional Mentor activities, so that we can evaluate our work against intended outcomes.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter to sit within a high-performing team working to raise awareness of SSAFA’s support in the South East and London Region of England to those in the Armed Forces Community who need it most.

With the ultimate objective being to grow SSAFA’s presence, profile, and identity, the role is responsible for all marcomms activation in the region. The role holder will work to deliver the central Fundraising, Marketing & Communications strategy.

This role reports to the Senior Storytelling Manager with close alignment with colleagues across the marcomms directorate. The marcomms manager will be responsible for managing marketing campaigns in the South East and London Region of England and promoting SSAFA’s fundraising initiatives and services. You’ll identify the areas of greatest impact and cut through, deliver integrated awareness campaigns and secure media coverage of fundraising events. Crucially, you’ll be able to identify stories which resonate with our target audience and write calls to action.

We’re looking for a Digital Service Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our high-impact, high-volume online services – including WhatDoTheyKnow, FixMyStreet, TheyWorkForYou and WriteToThem.

This is a vital and hands-on role, responsible for making sure these services run smoothly, are compliant with key legal frameworks like GDPR and the Online Safety Act, and that complex user support cases are handled with care and accuracy. Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) has secured funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to expand the Thrive Together programme (formerly VPPP) across the South East. This initiative connects veterans' support agencies, ensuring seamless pathways, safe spaces for veterans, and training for volunteers and staff working in veterans' mental health. They are now seeking a Families & Carers Outreach Officer to explore the challenges of reaching out to families and carers of veterans to improve the way that this support can be delivered.

VOS is an award-winning charity that offers welfare, wellbeing and mental health support and services to veterans of the UK Armed Forces and Merchant Navy in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. VOS provide a drop-in model of support, a welfare advice service, peer-supported wellbeing activities and social groups, with access to psychology, psychiatry, and therapy services.

The Families & Carers Outreach Officer will collaborate with the Thrive Together Portfolio Manager and VOS team to identify and improve outreach to families and carers of veterans, many of whom may not know they’re entitled to support.

The Casework and Research Manager will lead Humanists International's efforts in supporting Humanists at Risk through strategic engagement, research, and the management of key publications, particularly the Freedom of Thought Report. • Maximise relationships with key stakeholder groups (mentees, schools, partners, ambassadors, and mentors) to enhance engagement, experience, and retention.
• Lead, support, and motivate the Programme Delivery Directorate, aligning OKRs with organisational goals.

Programme Delivery & Reporting

• Stay informed about best practices in mentoring, gender equality, and social mobility to ensure maximum programme impact.
• Use data and feedback to continuously develop and refine programmes.
• Ensure robust processes and procedures are in place to optimise resources and impact.
• Oversee the mentor network, ensuring engagement, retention, and a high-quality experience for both mentors and mentees.
• Support the Ambassador Programme Lead in integrating the Ambassador Programme with the mentoring programme.
• Report quarterly to the CEO on programme KPIs, including participant numbers, impact metrics, stakeholder perceptions, and regional variations.
• Prepare quarterly reports for the CEO and Trustees.

Management & Training

• Manage the Senior Programme Team, overseeing performance, development, and wellbeing.
• Support programme teams to deliver growth and impact targets with consistency.
• Ensure the Ambassador Programme is successfully implemented and contributes to an engaged network of former mentees.

Safeguarding Leadership

• Serve as Joint Safeguarding Lead, with accountability for safeguarding decisions.
• Oversee Designated Safeguarding Officers and ensure all policies and procedures reflect best practice.
• Review and approve key training materials, particularly those shared externally.
• Maintain oversight of safeguarding systems, including managing the safeguarding phone and any related rota.

Essential skills, knowledge and attributes

• Proven senior leadership experience, ideally within a non-profit, education, or youth-focused organisation.
• Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to drive organisational growth and impact.
• Experience managing programmes, operations, and teams at a senior level.
• Track record of securing and managing funding, including corporate, trusts, and foundations.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement and external representation.
• Strong financial acumen and experience overseeing budgets and financial planning.
• Passionate about social mobility and gender equality, with a deep commitment to The Girls’ Network’s mission.

Desirable

• Experience of working with mentoring programmes or youth-focused initiatives.
• Knowledge of policy and advocacy related to education, social mobility, or gender equality.
• Experience working with Boards of Trustees or governance structures.
