We are recruiting for a Peer Support Lead: 

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to increase awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and promote access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C. 

Do you have personal experience of drug use or hepatitis C? Do you have experience working in drug services, health inclusion services or with volunteers? We are looking for a passionate peer lead with good communication and organisational skills. We require a reasonable standard of education and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work. 

Working as part of a growing team, this post will continue the development and delivery of the Hepatitis C peer project, recruiting and supporting volunteer peers across Bristol and surrounding areas. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing in community settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care. 

This post will require extensive travel across the region and it’s desirable the post holder holds a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.

About the Role

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training, support and coordination of our team of volunteers, working closely with operational managers and the volunteer team to ensure that volunteer activity contributes to PHQ’s charitable objectives and is enjoyable and fulfilling for the volunteer team.  There are currently over 100 volunteers whose work centres around Boathouse 4, our boat collection in the workshop and afloat on our pontoons, and care for Porters Garden, a calm space enjoyed by visitors and staff work in the dockyard.

This role involves operational planning, volunteer engagement, scheduling, and data management, with a strong focus on volunteer recognition, development, and communication.

We will consider applications for part-time employment for 30+ hours per week.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate prior experience of coordinating volunteer activity in the charitable sector, with good knowledge of safety and risk management procedures, and strong communication and organisational skills; underpinned by high level administrative and IT skills. 

Please note, this role is not suited to remote working and therefore the post holder must be available to work at the dockyard during their contracted hours.

Your Role as a Fundraiser for Hope for Southall Street Homeless

You will secure £210,000 p.a. to cover the running costs of HSSH.  This will include the salaries of five staff, grant-funding for emergency/ temporary accommodation for guests who wish to return to their home country (currently covered by a Government grant at 100%) and other running costs (eg insurance) and overheads (eg Third Sector body fees). 

Your responsibilities will include : 

Trusts

• To conduct an initial audit of existing Trust and Foundation donors to maintain and maximise potential income from these donors.
• To carry out prospect research using Fundsonline and other established Trust directories to identify new prospective donors.
• To establish a calendar-based pipeline showing submitted and planned applications, with required updates (including scheduled date, name, projected amount, and next action), to ensure timely and targeted applications and follow-up communications with donors (both existing and prospective).
• To monitor and respond to local and wider appropriate grant opportunities.

Corporates

• To scope local and wider district and borough opportunities for corporate partnerships, starting with warm contacts and existing donor networks.
• To build natural, face-to-face, contact and foster deep relationships with new corporate partners.
• To maintain a pipeline (as above) of corporate donors, prospects, communications, and planned approaches.

Community / Individuals

• To work with local community organisations and individuals, including those already engaged with/interested in HSSH and others, to raise awareness of the service, increase existing support, and generate new forms of support.
• To represent/showcase the work of HSSH through local events and forums, emphasising the need for, and the impact of, the service.
• In cooperation with the Social Media Management Group, to produce/ contribute to shared material/social posts profiling HSSH’s work and value, to the community, borough and wider bodies relative to our work.
• To prepare bespoke, scheduled, direct mail requests to individual donors, in the form of letters and e-mails.
• To maintain an up-to date information resource covering the issues relevant to local rough sleepers and migrants, to inform and evidence HSSH services.

Who We Are Hope for Southall Street Homeless (HSSH) is a charity founded in 2015 to provide a permanent night shelter in Southall.  The need for this was identified by the Churches in Southall Leadership Team – at the time part of the wider Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter initiative – due to the high number of rough sleepers in Southall, at the time, over 31% of all Ealing’s rough sleepers.

The Refugee & Migrant Services Caseworker will join the Refugee & Migrant Services Support Team, who work alongside our ESOL team and volunteers to meet clients’ needs as directed by the R&MS Team Leader.  The post is based at our offices in Bedford but will involve some local travel to deliver support and home appointments.  Our team deliver a number of services, including:

• Welcoming and providing holistic integration support to resettled refugee families, empowering them to live independently with less support as time goes on.
•  Providing vulnerable migrants with high quality information and advice, empowering them to make well-informed choices.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Building trust and maintaining positive working relationships with all clients, external agencies and other areas of KAP.
• Systematic recording of all notes and actions related to client support, maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and support plans using our case management system.
• Fulfilling funders’ & commissioners’ reporting requirements; generating statistics, case studies and keeping detailed records.
• Meeting resettled families at the airport and bringing them to their new homes.
• Ensuring clients understand their rights and responsibilities regarding their accommodation, supporting them to fulfil these.
• Supporting clients through advocacy to access; health & wellbeing services, welfare benefits, housing, immigration advice, community events, education, training, volunteering and paid work.

We are seeking a home-based Communications Officer to join RSPB Scotland's communications team.

What's the role about?

You'll be part of a dynamic team working across Scotland to unearth and tell great stories from colleagues that inspire key audiences about RSPB Scotland’s nature conservation work.

The Head of Member Experience is a high-profile leadership role at the College, responsible for shaping and delivering an innovative and inclusive membership experience for over 25,000 paediatricians and child health professionals globally. As Head of Member Experience, you will oversee the development and delivery of a compelling member benefits offer, using data, insights and member feedback to enhance satisfaction, retention and income (currently over £7.5 million). Working closely with colleagues across digital, marketing, finance and careers, you will drive improvements in how we serve our members, from onboarding and services to communications and digital infrastructure.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Membership and Engagement, you will also work with senior leaders and committees, leading the reporting and analysis of membership performance, and contributing to College-wide strategic priorities.

You will be responsible for engaging with governance processes around membership, including overseeing changes to membership categories and election of senior member roles, and ensuring that member needs and insights are championed throughout the organisation.

You should bring significant experience of leading membership functions in complex organisations, including expertise in digital service delivery, budget management, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll also need excellent communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution.

A background in the healthcare sector, knowledge of governance matters, or a professional membership (e.g. CIM) would be advantageous. A formal project management qualification is also desirable.

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Marine Scientist to play a substantive role to support all of Oceana’s UK campaigns. Research, science and data are at the heart of Oceana’s UK work, underpinning our policy positions, creating campaign moments and answering key questions with new research.

The successful candidate will write and project manage research to unlock key campaign questions relating to overfishing, habitat protection and energy in particular, as well as other potential campaign areas in future. They will also work to increase Oceana’s presence within the academic community, attending relevant conferences and meetings and seeking future collaborations on topics of interest.

The Scientist will report to and be supported by the Director of Policy and Research, and work closely with science colleagues across the Oceana global network and beyond. Eligible candidates should have some experience in conducting research, including analysing data, but we’re equally looking for passion, motivation and a drive to protect the ocean. You should be a self-starter, with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a small but growing team.

Role Overview

• Support the delivery of Oceana’s campaigns, working with the Director of Policy and Research and relevant campaign teams.
• Research, draft and/or review content for Oceana’s scientific reports and other external communications, with particular attention to scientific accuracy.
• Gather evidence to support Oceana’s UK campaigns, including analysing primary and secondary data, conducting literature reviews and creating position papers.

• Work closely with the Oceana HQ Science and Strategy team and other scientist colleagues in the Oceana network to gather insights, inspiration and knowledge.
• Coordinate relevant stakeholders to ensure internal scientific reviews are completed in line with campaign timelines.
• Build strong external relationships within the academic community and represent Oceana to ensure we advance our goals with a wide range of stakeholders, from the general public to politicians.
• Actively participate in key policy and research conferences and events to defend and advance Oceana campaign goals.
• Maintain subject matter expertise and identify areas for new research by following the current literature, attending relevant meetings, and communicating with peers in the field.
• Represent Oceana externally in relevant networks, with partners and in the media as needed.
• Conduct other policy and research tasks as agreed and required.

Candidate Requirements

Education and work experience

• Degree, ideally masters-level, in environmental, fisheries or marine science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with marine and climate issues, regulations and policies in the UK, as well as with key institutions and decision-making processes.
• Experience writing or commissioning primary or secondary research and associated materials summarising the work.
• A passion for UK seas and delivering a healthy ocean in general.

Skills and knowledge

• Familiarity with UK marine and fisheries policy and science.
• GIS and database proficiency, including basic knowledge of GIS mapping and statistical analysis.
• Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple workstreams and projects effectively to time and budget.
• Ability to represent Oceana in a professional and responsive manner both within and outside the academic community
• Excellent writing, editing, communication, organisational and research skills with the ability to confidently distil scientific messages to stakeholders with varying levels of expertise.

About the role:
As our Dementia Coordinator, you’ll lead the development and coordination of dementia-focused befriending activities, working closely with volunteers, carers, and local partners. Your work will help create a supportive, connected community where people living with dementia feel valued and engaged.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the launch of a new Dementia Information Hub at The Creighton Centre, providing advice, signposting, and referrals alongside dementia healthcare professionals.

• Build strong partnerships with local dementia services across health, social care, and the voluntary sector.

• Develop inclusive, engaging activities like dance therapy and gardening clubs to complement existing befriending programmes.

• Support the recruitment and training of a dedicated team of up to 15 Dementia Ambassadors and 50 home befriending volunteers.

• Coordinate up to 30 home and care home befriending matches in the first year, increasing to 50 in subsequent years, focusing on meaningful sensory and physical activities.

About the Service

Our Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways.

We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis centres, crisis cafes and a weekend Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary. As a member of our team you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach as to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Services are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services and emergency services.

At the Crisis Cafes we promote and enable people to access support in a way that suits them, whether that’s through talking to someone or simply by providing a safe space to have time alone or engage with trained staff.

About the Role

The Crisis Team Leader will be a key member of the Crisis Services management team, providing effective operational leadership delivering the Nightlight Café and Helpline services.

Purpose of Post

• Ensuring the delivery and development of quality crisis support services and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the provision.
• Provide management support to Café and Helpline Coordinators and support the Crisis Manager in ensuring practice within the service is safe, effective and person centred, as well as supporting the implementation of strategic service plans.
• Provide emotional support, advice, signposting, assessing risk, support planning for clients in mental health crisis often where risks are significant.
• Overseeing and ensuring the delivery of appropriate needs and risk assessments and support planning for clients.
• Liaison with statutory agencies to ensure appropriate intervention is obtained.
• Ensuring staff and volunteers feel supported, safe, trusted and valued and excel in their roles.
