1. Community Engagement: 

· Act as the face of the charity at community events, engaging with attendees and volunteers to share Cornwall Hospice Care’s purpose and work.  

· Encourage individuals, groups, volunteers and businesses to participate in and support fundraising initiatives.  

2. Fundraising Support: 

· Support event sales, sponsorships, and donations by promoting community events through various channels.  

· Collaborate with team members to ensure financial targets are met, share updates about current projects, share ideas and utilise any opportunities to support the wider fundraising team.    

· Collaborate with the marketing team to promote community events and challenges through social media, email campaigns, and local networks

3. Relationship Management: 

· Build and nurture relationships with donors, sponsors, event participants and our volunteers to ensure long-term engagement.  

· Contribute to thank-you efforts, such as writing acknowledgment letters to donors and volunteers.  

· Work positively throughout Cornwall Hospice Care as part of the Fundraising and Engagement team.

4. Volunteer Coordination:

· Assist in recruiting and training volunteers, ensuring that they are supported, motivated and informed about the charity’s purpose, ambitions and values. 

· Support our culture of appreciation and recognition for volunteers.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting: 

· Assist in evaluating the success of community events by gathering feedback and tracking outcomes.  

· Ensure compliance with relevant fundraising regulations, ethical standards, and best practices.

THE ROLE

As our new Fundraising Officer, you'll be joining OSCAR's Charity at a pivotal time in our growth. This isn't a rigid, box-ticking role – it's an opportunity to shape your own fundraising legacy. You’ll have financial targets to meet, and the backing of the whole team to help you achieve them.

Your time will be split across three closely-linked key areas:

Corporate Partnerships (35%)

• Researching and identifying potential partners

• Supporting our Charity Manager to get partnerships over the line
• Preparing compelling materials and presentations

Community Fundraising (30%)

• Building school partnerships
• Coordinating local events (such as quiz nights, bake sales, virtual events)
• Engaging with community groups
• Motivating and inspiring volunteer fundraisers

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-haves

• Proven fundraising experience
• Proven experience in achieving/exceeding targets in the not-for-profit or commercial sectors.

Primary location of role

About the role 

Since LRU started campaigning for rent controls in 2024, we’ve secured the support of MPs, trade unions and charities, organised large demonstrations and pushed the issue of rising rents up the political agenda.

The purpose of this role is to work alongside members and other union staff to take our campaigning for rent controls to the next level through a combination of protests, local organising, coalition building and targeting of power holders, landlords and corporations. 

How we work at LRU

You will be part of the LRU staff team alongside 12 other staff, who work with members to build the power of the union by organising, campaigning, training and supporting peer support and member solidarity actions.  We expect staff to uphold the union's values, and work together to implement collectively agreed strategies.  The staff team are accountable to the elected member Coordinating Group.

Job description

• Support members to organise ambitious and effective actions and protests in support of rent controls.

• Leading on specific projects and campaigns as part of the Cut the Rent campaign and other campaign priorities decided by LRU members.  For example, if the campaigns committee decides to target a particular developer or politician as part of the wider Cut the Rent campaign.

• Working with the Union Coordinator and members to implement and track progress on the overall Cut the Rent strategy.

• Implementing organising approaches to ensure that the Cut the Rent campaigns builds the active membership and power of the union.

• Working alongside the Union Coordinator to represent LRU in external meetings and events, and help to build LRU’s relationships with other organisations.  Supporting members to do this.

• Ensure meetings of the Campaigns Committee are effective and well run.

• Work alongside members and other other staff to ensure branches participate in the Cut the Rent campaign, and feed into strategy.

• Contribute to the collective activity of the Organising Team, including taking part in phone banking and outreach sessions and team meetings.

• As time allows, work alongside other members of the staff Organising Team to support members outside of branch areas to participate in the Cut the Rent campaign.

The Hepatitis C Trust runs national projects where peers draw on their lived experience of drug use, criminal justice systems and hepatitis C to support others . We are now recruiting for a new and exciting role to join our Cardiff & Vale of Glamorgan team. 

As part of an experienced team, this role will promote hepatitis C awareness, blood borne virus testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C. The role will support volunteer peers and increase the project’s reach to underserved communities. You’ll be providing vital harm reduction interventions including needle, syringe and naloxone provision across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

About the Service

As part of an innovative pilot project, funded by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, Solace will be providing two specialist workers to support victim/survivors engaged in the perpetrator behaviour change programme as part of a conditional caution. The programme aims to address perpetrators behaviour and increase safety for victim/survivors. In doing so, it is essential that the V/S has holistic support to ensure any risks are identified and managed.

This is a pilot project and it is expected that there will be a considerable amount of testing and learning, trailing new ways of working to meet intended outcomes.

About the Role

You will be working closely in partnership with Police forces in North London, as well as the Hampton Trust, to provide support for victim/survivors engaged in the CARA programme. You will also be supporting Police Officers to discuss eligibility for the programme and conditional cautions. You will be developing and delivering a series of training and learning sessions for the Police. As a new project, you will be developing key partnership relations, to strengthen collaborative working between the Police and Solace. You will provide light touch support to survivors whose partners are engaged with the CARA program, assess risk and share key updates with Hampton Trust and the Police to ensure safety.

About You

We're looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about ending VAWG. You will have a “can-do‟ approach and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. You will receive training and support for this role as necessary.

Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children, experience of dynamic risk assessment and providing emotional and practical support to victims of VAWG.  As this is a pilot programme where the delivery model may change, a flexible and adaptive approach to your work is important as well as willingness to contribute to programme evaluation. Part of your time will be spent ensuring that Police colleagues have the information they need to effectively administer conditional cautions so you will work closely with Police, Hampton Trust to develop different training elements, a willingness to develop and deliver this material is essential.

A relevant qualification in VAWG is essential, as well as willingness to undergo Police vetting.

About the role and you

The Communications Coordinator will support colleagues across the team to deliver engaging, accessible and effective communications that help prevent child sexual abuse. This is a rewarding role in a fast-paced, collaborative team, which will bring a greater awareness of our work and help to deliver real impact in the prevention of offline and online child sexual abuse across the UK.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting our digital channels, campaigns and content creation - from social media and newsletters to website updates and printed materials. Here are some of the skills we’re looking for and we’re happy to support the right candidate to grow and learn on the job:

• Confident using social media to reach different audiences and be able to design multimedia content that’s engaging and on-brand.
• A strong writer and editor, able to tailor content for different platforms and audiences - from short social posts to longer-form blogs and newsletters.
• Familiar with website content management systems (like WordPress) and ideally have some experience with paid digital campaigns (e.g. Google Ads, Meta).
• Organised and proactive, able to juggle multiple tasks and support colleagues across different projects and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process income and related data accurately on the CRM database, ensuring all income is accurate and coded correctly
• Allocate restricted income in line with supporters’ wishes and organisational guidelines

• Manage over 7,000 regular supporters through Direct Debit, Standing Order, and Payroll Giving, including reconciliations and regular transaction processing
• Carry out Gift Aid checks before HMRC submissions and help maximise Gift Aid income
• Maintain and manage financial and data systems with high data integrity, ensuring compliance with Data Protection and audit requirements
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to streamline processes and identify practical improvements to manage increasing transaction volumes
