This role will see the successful candidate manage and develop a portfolio of successful national events. You will be involved in all aspects of the project management cycle from marketing and participant recruitment to supporter stewardship and race day logistics. With support of the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) you will prepare and track budgets for your assigned events and continuously look for opportunities to improve income and participant retention.

The role requires a good attention to detail, strong prioritization skills, sensitivity and flexibility. Whether you come with direct events fundraising experience or have transferable skills that the role requires, we will support and develop you to excel in your role.

Meningitis Research Foundation is based in Bristol, but the role is flexible and is open to remote working with monthly visits to the office (this will need to be more regular during events season). We offer an annual salary of £23,000-£28,000 (job titles and salary banding currently under review), 6% employer pension contribution and employee assistance program alongside annual leave of 25 days per year. You will report directly to the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events and Community) within the Fundraising Team. Key Responsibilities

· Manage a portfolio of national events including TCS London Marathon and Great North Run executing the planning, delivery and evaluation of these events

· Inspire individuals with a connection to the cause to take on events for Meningitis Research Foundation to support our vision of a world free from meningitis

· Deliver marketing and recruitment strategies to ensure we reach our targeted number of participants for each event

· Deliver best in class stewardship (across phone, email, SMS and post) to all supporters ensuring they have the best experience with Meningitis Research Foundation

· Work with the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) to ensure we maximize income potential from each event through improving key performance indicators i.e. average value

· Develop the events portfolio by evaluating and monitoring current products and seeking out new events when appropriate

· Manage relationships with external partners including event companies, logistical suppliers and fundraising platforms

· Work with the Communications Team and Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) to identify strong supporter stories and PR opportunities

· Seek opportunities to share knowledge and learning with other members of the Events & Community Team

· Identify supporters with high value potential (i.e. corporate or major donor) and ensure they are shared with the Head of Fundraising

· With the support of the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community)  create and deliver budgets and KPIs targets for your area ensuring you monitor and report on progress against these budgets and KPIs

· Other duties as reasonable requested by the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) or Head of Fundraising

Skills and experience required

· Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

· Good organisational and administrative skills, able to prioritise, juggle multiple tasks and work to deadlines

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent attention to detail

· IT competent including Microsoft office package, Teams and Outlook

· Numerate, able to understand and manage financial information

· Experience managing external partner relationships

· Proven experience and current understanding of the events fundraising market

· Working knowledge of social media

· Experience using a CRM or database

· Effective team player with an ability to build effective working relationships

· Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative

· Ability to demonstrate our organisational values in all areas of your work

· Able to work occasional unsocial hours and a willingness to travel, occasionally overnight for events

The Recruitment team is responsible for sourcing, selecting and hiring for 500 places for Approach Social Work (previously known as the Frontline programme) in local authorities across England.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Manage the logistics involved in planning and delivering over 40 assessment centre days (e.g. responding to candidate queries, monitoring candidate sign up, scheduling assessors)​
• Act as first point of contact for candidates experiencing technical difficulties with IT systems used as part of selection process.

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for Partnerships Grant Giving Officer to join our Partnership team. This role is offered on a hybrid-working basis with home working combined with 2 days per week on average in our London, Manchester or Birmingham office (TBC on application).

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation; health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year. It is a truly exciting time to be joining Centrepoint, as we work towards our vision to end youth homelessness by 2037.

About the role

The Grant Officer post will help Centrepoint to develop a grant-giving project as a part of a wider externally funded programme called More Than a Roof. The More Than a Roof programme that is supported by a large corporate partner, is projected to launch in the Autumn 2024 and will last for three years.

At Centrepoint and through the partners we work with, we see vulnerable young people arriving at supported living hostels following periods of rough sleeping, family relationship breakdowns, and a myriad of other traumatic experiences. Initially, Centrepoint wants to transform hostels around the country into homely and safe environments where young people can overcome trauma and receive the specialist support they need to give them a starting point for a happier life. We want to enable our 100 plus partner charities to access funding to implement the More Than a Roof philosophy, through a new grant-giving scheme. Youth homelessness charities would have the opportunity to apply for grants to make the living spaces of young people escaping homelessness, more like homes. This new programme will be the first time that Centrepoint has provided grants to other organisations. It will be an innovation for Centrepoint and one that we will learn from, as we provide vital additional funding for small to medium organisations working with homeless young people across the sector.

What you'll be doing: 

• oversee the whole grant-giving process from the launch to communications and outreach; application and selection
• putting forward applications to the Grant Allocations board for approval
• organise the awards and distribute the funding in accordance to policies ensuring it is dispensed to a diversity of organisations across the UK and delivers impactful change for homeless young people
• maintain a grants management system and manage data in line with GDPR and other relevant policies
• establish and build strong relationships with strategic stakeholders and grantees
• monitor and evaluate the impact and success of each grant given by getting grantees to complete required monitoring forms,
• ensure all activity achieves the intended outputs and outcomes on time and within budget.

The Role: 

As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will lead the delivery and development of our highly successful “Grandmentors” programme in Perth and Kinross. 

Grandmentors is an innovative, inter-generational mentoring project where older volunteers (normally but not exclusively aged 50+) use their wealth of life experience and skills to mentor young people aged 16-26 who are care experienced, or facing other life challenges

These young people often benefit from a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education, begin training, enhance their wellbeing, or develop their independent living skills - ultimately giving young people the empowerment and self-belief to lead successful lives.

Grandmentors is a national project which has operated for almost 15 years in various locations of the UK.  We launched in Perth and Kinross in 2022.   Further information on Grandmentors can be found online. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

· Consistently role model and display our organisational values (Being Positive, Inclusive, Empowering, Compassionate, Straightforward)

· Contribute to effective teamwork across the staff team and the wider charity, in line with our “flexible working by default” and “self-managed teams” philosophy

· Develop and deliver the Grandmentors programme in Perth and Kinross, meeting ambitious goals and milestones, ensuring all young people engaged achieve positive outcomes 

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, volunteer mentors, young people, Social Services, Health and Education teams, third sector partners and others 

· Effective recruitment, selection, training, and ongoing support of a diverse pool of talented and dedicated volunteer mentors from a wide cross-section of the community

Skills Required:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including being able to have strategic conversations with external partners one minute, and talk to an anxious or unsure young person the next

· Excellent organisational skills including strong attention to detail, the ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise accordingly

· Excellent IT skills including the use of Office 365, Microsoft Teams and other software packages

About the Role

The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife.  Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.

No two days are the same as an ARO at HMWT; you will get the opportunity to utilise and develop your practical habitat management skills across our nature reserves including tree felling, coppicing, scrub clearance, hay cutting and pond/ditch management. You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.

Willingness to travel throughout our work area and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for this post.

Background

Bipolar UK is the only national charity dedicated to empowering individuals and families affected by bipolar. Peer support is at the core of our work. We empower approximately 1,000 people a month to stay well - and we have the ambition to reach thousands more.

Bipolar does not discriminate on the grounds of sex, gender, age, ethnicity, race or background, consequently it affects everyone, and we estimate that one million people in the UK live with the condition many of whom remain undiagnosed, that's 1 in 50.  The condition also increases the risk of suicide by 20 times.  Bipolar impacts on relationships, missed milestones for young people with their peers, education, economic stability and employment, and creates social and economic problems and debt for those affected through symptomatic overspending.  Therefore, Bipolar UK are working hard to improve diagnosis times and support pathways to enable individuals affected by the condition to live well and fulfil their potential. At the heart of this is our peer support enabling our community to access tools and support to manage their condition.

About the role:

Bipolar UK is delighted to have this post funded through a new grant and we are seeking to recruit a Senior Peer Support Officer to work 3-days per week.

We are looking for an experienced person who is familiar with peer support and lived experience models to support and engage members of our London community who are affected by bipolar from a range of backgrounds.

Your role will include managing volunteers, increasing engagement in local existing support groups and developing new ones.  Working with our self-management trainers to run psycho-education courses.  The role will require you to work across London both online via Teams and Zoom and in-person.

This new post is an exciting addition to our team as we are seeking to increase awareness across racialised and minoritised communities and improve access to peer support for people affected by bipolar commencing with a new steering group.

The role’s purpose is to support the delivery of core Cambridge SU events. The Events Coordinator, while based within the Activities Team, will work with staff from across the organisation. They will be the event organiser of our flagship events, and provide support to smaller events such as those run by other teams, or students. Our flagship member engagement event is the Freshers’ Fair, which invites all 24,000 students to see what the university has to offer.

Overview of Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver Cambridge SU’s major events.
• Develop and implement an events management process for all student events to follow.
• Lead on the health and safety of all events.
• Produce a risk register and be the primary lead on all risk management of events including financial and reputational risks.
• Produce reports as required.

Stratford-upon-Avon Foodbank is a local independent charity founded in 2013, we are part of the Trussell Trust network of foodbanks. The Trussell Trust is an anti-poverty charity who support a network of foodbanks who provide practical support and emergency food to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for foodbanks in the UK.

Our foodbank is predominantly run by over 150 volunteers. Our volunteer workforce is the heart of the charity having seen the Foodbank change considerably in 10 years, move location a number of times and seen the demand for our services grow.

To provide emergency food and support in Stratford-upon-Avon and surrounding areas for people in need, and to work with partners to prevent and relieve poverty.

Overall responsibility of the job:

We are seeking a volunteer coordinator to join our small team of staff. The postholder will take responsibility for the recruitment, training, and retention of our volunteer workforce.

The postholder will develop our existing volunteer programme, recruit, and grow the number of volunteers and deploy them into tasks and roles suitable to their individual skills.

Specific responsibilities

• Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments
• Develop new volunteer roles that complement the service
• Develop and market volunteering opportunities to attract new volunteers
• Recruit and select new volunteers
• Develop and deliver an induction and ongoing training programme for volunteers
• Supervise, support, motivate and review volunteers and their work
• Organise and manage volunteer meetings and events including Team Leader meetings
• Manage volunteers on a day-to-day basis including drawing up rotas, maintaining databases and processing expenses claims
• Promote the value of volunteering within the organisation and with our partner agencies across different sectors.

General

• Be part of the Foodbank staff team responsible for the overall management of the Foodbank.
• Generate income, write funding bids, and raise funds to make projects sustainable
• Monitor and evaluate Foodbank activity and write reports for funders and trainees
• Undertake additional duties occasionally, commensurate with grade of this post.

This role is at the heart of the charity, managing delivery of existing services while developing new and innovative activities to help people with a cancer diagnosis back to independence with a renewed sense of self-esteem - "Living your best life-despite cancer".

We need our Service Delivery Manager to:

• manage our existing portfolio of programmes and activities, ensuring that all activities are delivered        according to scope, schedule, budget, safety and quality standards
• supervise and motivate the contractors who act as activity leaders
• engage with and motivate the volunteers who support activity leaders
• ensure compliance with all relevant processes, legal requirements and standards
• manage the locations across Huntingdonshire that we use and grow additional hubs
• ensure the charity continues to respond to the needs of the people we support
• act with integrity and respect - be confident, proactive, seek out and listen to what people are doing and want to do    
• be creative – respond positively to what you hear, be innovative as you develop and test ideas for new services and activities
• be resourceful, think outside the box and gaing support – people and money – to deliver locally to meet agreed outcomes in the areas of emotional wellbeing, physical activity, nutrition and 1:1 support
• develp your budget, aware of essential financial constraints to ensure sustainability
• know and care about people with cancer and the issues that affect them

This role is hybrid. The successful applicant will be required to work at our Bradbury House location on 2 Fridays each month when we run our drop-in and hold operational meetings. The address is Mayfield Road, Huntingdon, PE29 1UL. In addition, the post holder will be required to attend in person on other days as needed, for example, our Men’s Group in Huntingdon on Wednesday mornings, our Women’s Group on Wednesday evenings, and new activities on other days and locations around Huntingdonshire, together with occasional evening and weekend working in the Huntingdon area. 

The time commitment is 15 hours per week at the rate of £20 per hour. Our preference is for the post-holder to be a self employed contractor.

The Fundraising Officer at the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) supports a wide range of the charity’s activities, including but not limited to, helping to develop and grow income from individual donors with a focus on developing strong relationships with donors and families; as well as assisting with CHECT’s overall admin and operations.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping families affected by retinoblastoma and shares our values to increase awareness through communications and appeals, expanding our social media and website content and supporting our exciting fundraising efforts.

You will have a high level of autonomy and will be given the opportunity to develop new ideas in a role that is varied and flexible. 

Key Objectives of the role:

• To assist the Fundraising Manager on the organisation of events primarily mass participation events
• To assist the Fundraising Manager in providing excellent stewardship to all of CHECT’s supporters
• Management of the fundraising inbox, social media and regular email and telephone communications
• To provide admin and communication support to the wider CHECT team, monitoring the info@inbox and collecting and sending office post
