Head of Engagement (fundraising and marketing)

You will be an ambitious fundraising leader committed to supporting our new vision - to support 1 million young people in the next five years - by developing and implementing exciting ways of engaging our key stakeholders - educators, supporters, volunteers and young people.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role, with specific responsibility for cultivation, stewardship and increasing our fundraised income through major gifts and philanthropy, across individuals, grant and trust funders and corporate foundations.

Role Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operation of the business centre. This includes oversight of facilities management, health & safety, lettings, team leadership, and budget management. The role ensures the business centre is well-maintained, tenants are satisfied, and operational performance is continuously improved. Reporting to senior leadership, the Operations Manager contributes to strategic planning, drives efficiencies through systems and digital tools, and plays a vital role in sustaining high occupancy and tenant retention.

Role Responsibilities:

Centre Operations Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business centre, ensuring all facilities are well-maintained, compliant, and running smoothly.
• Ensure the lettings process is well-managed and aligned with policies.
• Implement and monitor operational procedures to improve efficiency and service quality, including opportunities to digitise processes and services.
• Contribute to strategic operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and resolve operational challenges in collaboration with senior management.
• Report regularly on KPIs, occupancy, operational issues, and budget status to senior management.

Building Maintenance

• Oversee the upkeep and preventative maintenance of the property, ensuring high facility standards.
• Manage and coordinate external contractors and service providers (e.g., cleaners, engineers).
• Monitor maintenance budgets and project timelines, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct regular building inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Drive sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency and waste reduction.
• Maintain and develop use of CMMS (MaintainX) to manage and record all maintenance work.
• Maintain the Visitor Management System and ensure it is used appropriately and consistently

Health & Safety

• Ensure compliance with UK health & safety regulations, including risk assessments and fire safety.
• Develop and monitor health & safety procedures tailored to the site.
• Organise relevant training for staff and enforce contractor compliance.
• Maintain accurate H&S records, incident reports, and lead periodic audits.
• Support development and execution of emergency response and business continuity plans.
• Fire safety responsibility (Fire Safety designated person)

Lettings and Lease Management

• Oversee the Assistant Lettings Manager and monitor the development and execution of the lettings process from enquiry to move-in, including viewings, negotiations, and onboarding and offboarding of tenants.
• Check we are maintaining up-to-date tenancy records,
• Draft lease documentation and ensure timely renewals and support the rollout of any rent reviews.
• Carry out twice-yearly audits of lease documentation.
• Maintain relationships with tenants to support retention and satisfaction.
• Monitor lease management by team, lease compliance and resolution of any lease-related issues.

Customer Service

• Act as a point of contact for tenants, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Foster strong relationships with tenants, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies to attract new tenants and retain existing tenants with the goal of maintaining high occupancy levels.

Financial Management

• Manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources and that projects are delivered within budget.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to secure cost-effective deals.
• Ensure tenant arrears are regularly monitored and managed.

Line Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage the lettings and maintenance teams, ensuring high performance and productivity.
• Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
• Handle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of staff members as needed.

Essential Skills / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Project Management, or other relevant fields.
• At least 2 years’ experience in operations work.
• Previous experience in Lease management
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.

As well as having our own inhouse Face to Face Fundraising team, we work with circa 4 agencies who provide us with the resource to engage and inspire the public to sign up to monthly donations supporting CRUK. To date, we have generated over £120m from face-to-face fundraising third-party individual giving activity, having a huge impact for our life saving research.

As a Face-to-Face Fundraising Manager, you'll be the driving force behind delivering our ambitious fundraising targets in this area, maximising opportunities, working with a range of agencies, stakeholders and your team to deliver our outsourced face to face acquisition programme in the UK, ensuring its success day to day.

You don't need to have worked specifically in the Face-to-Face Fundraising space previously, but you will need to come with experience of managing multiple agency relationships as well as strong stakeholder management skills.

What will I be doing?

What are you looking for?

• Relevant experience of managing agency relationships, contract management, managing performance, meeting or exceeding key performance indicators ( Face to Face agencies would be beneficial but isn't essential).

• Experience of working in a heavily regulated environment and ability to get up to speed with current fundraising regulation.

• Relevant experience of planning, delivery and analysis of end to end project activity or campaigns (fundraising or face to face would be beneficial).

• Flexible approach, with an ability to work successfully in a dynamic operating environment.

About the Role

In this new role, you will contribute to enhancing the finance function within a growing and dynamic international charitable foundation. The role will enable you to work and continue your professional development across many aspects of the finance function.

Roles and Responsibilities

Accounting (40%)

• Oversee day-to-day transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, for both the UK charity and the newly created US charity
• Ensure that accurate and comprehensive records of accounting evidence for all transactions are maintained
• Monitor cashflow
• Support the HoFO in the month-end process
• Oversee and control monthly payroll with external payroll provider
• Oversee and control VAT returns with external accountants

Operations (15%)

• Responsible for the financial management of grant payments, in coordination with Grant Managers and Grant Budget Holders

Skills and experience

Essential

• Newly qualified or part qualified, working towards a chartered accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

• Fluent in using spreadsheets for financial information

This role is an exciting opportunity to join the staff team of the Council of Deans of Health to support the delivery of our programme of conferences, webinars and themed months, and work on existing and new projects. About the Role

This is a really exciting time to join CHIPS (Christian International Peace Service) as we approach our 60th anniversary — with deep roots in peacemaking and a fresh vision for the years ahead. We’ve recently launched a new organisation-wide strategy, and we’re looking for a passionate and dynamic Programme Manager to lead its implementation within our Brixton project.

You’ll be stepping into a unique and influential role, responsible for shaping and growing our work in South London. As the Programme Manager, you will oversee our team in Brixton — including the Family Support Coordinator, the Connection Builder (Youth and Comms), and a group of dedicated Sessional Youth Workers. You’ll bring strategic direction, strong leadership, and hands-on oversight to ensure the programme remains responsive, relational, and transformative.

You’ll be joining a young and vibrant team committed to building peace and hope in some of the hardest places. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

•Serve as the organisations designated DPO as per UK GDPR requirements.
•Monitor internal compliance with data protection laws and conduct regular audits.
•Advise on data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), especially for projects involving sensitive health data and cross-border data transfers.
•Develop and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and training programs.
•Act as the main point of contact with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and respond to data subject access requests (DSARs).
•Work with field teams and local partners to ensure data protection standards are upheld in challenging operational environments.
•Provide guidance to staff and partners on the lawful basis for data collection, retention schedules, and consent mechanisms.
•Conduct regular training and awareness sessions for all staff, tailoring to job function and location.
•Support incident response and breach reporting processes in line with legal requirements.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

Experience & Certifications/Qualifications:
•Strong understanding of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and other relevant legislation.
•Hands-on experience responding to Subject Access Requests (SARs), managing data breaches, and liaising with regulators (ICO)
•At least 3 years of experience in a data protection or compliance role, preferably within the charity, NGO, or healthcare sectors.
•Experience handling sensitive personal data, including health and biometric data.
•Ability to interpret complex legal requirements and translate them into practical guidance.
•Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity, especially in cross-cultural and humanitarian contexts.
•Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

•Data Protection Officer certification (e.g., CIPP/E, BCS,GDPR Practitioner or equivalent).
•Experience working with or in the Middle East region.
•Familiarity with international humanitarian data ethics, especially when working in conflict zones or with at-risk populations.

As an experienced professional with a proven track record in learning and development, and management, you will be part of a Learning Network (LN), within the Ministries and Learning team and part of the Connexional Team of The Methodist Church.

The LN comprises 30+ staff working as part of a single team operating across the Methodist Church in Britain. The team is strategically and collaboratively managed by Learning and Development Managers (LDMs), each having responsibility for a number of Learning and Development Officers (LDO) working within a geographical area. We are seeking to recruit an LDM for the Cymru Wales, West Midlands and South West area. There is a requirement to live within this geography that includes the Methodist districts: Wales Synod Cymru, West Midlands (following the merger of the current Birmingham District and the Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury District on 1st September 2025), Southampton, Channel Islands, Bristol, and South West Peninsular.

Responsibilities of the Learning Development Manager include:

• strategic shared leadership of the LN
• leading and managing the LDOs, balancing the needs and expectations of lay and ordained
• developing, implementing and reviewing, alongside other LDMs and the Director of Ministry Learning, the strategic work plan of the LN
• building and maintaining good relationships across the Connexional Team and with individuals and communities across the church and beyond
