We are currently seeking a self-motivating and outgoing Case Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will primarily work within HMP Brixton, providing essential support to men preparing for release and continuing to assist them as they reintegrate into the community across London. Change for Good Community Chaplaincy Limited (CfG), a registered charity since 2012, is a volunteer mentoring charity that works across London supporting prison-leavers before and after their release from prison and as they resettle in the community. We do this through our ‘through the gate’ work, volunteer mentoring, and liaising with many organisations and support groups across the criminal justice sector (see www.changeforgood.info).
We are looking for a Case Worker to join our small team at a very exciting time of growth for our charity. The last 4 years have seen Change for Good go from a mentoring project in HMP Wandsworth to an innovative resettlement charity serving 4 prisons, our Next Chapter peer support group and mentoring relationships across London.
Our office is based in Stockwell. The Case worker will be required to travel to locations across London each week.
The work will include:
● Being a source of information on what prison organisations/services are available to clients and volunteers
● Identifying those who can gain from our support, engaging them, assessing needs and risks
● Matching clients to volunteers, tracking progress
● Enabling peer support group(s) and their development
● Building and maintaining relationships with Prisons, Probation and other key stakeholders
The successful candidate will have:
● Experience of working with offenders and ex-offenders in prison or in the community
● Confidence in engaging one-to-one, communicating what’s on offer while making an informed assessment of suitability
● An understanding of the criminal justice system (or homelessness, addiction, mental health, community work etc) and the role of befriending / mentoring in enabling change for good

The Night Shelter Manager is responsible for the following:
- The day-to-day operation and management of nights shelters in West and Southwest London. Maintaining a friendly, supportive environment and cultivating positive relationships with guests, colleagues and volunteers.
- Welcoming and inducting new guests into the shelter by explaining the shelter policies.
- Supporting volunteer teams at each venue to ensure the smooth running of the project and developing good communication with the Volunteer Co-ordinators.
- Diffusing difficult or dangerous situations and summon assistance when necessary. Training will be provided.
- Ensuring cleaning protocols are implemented by all staff, guests and volunteers.
- Maintaining guest attendance records and shift reports on our iPad-based In-From client relationship platform.
- Following best practice procedures for the security and safety of the guests and volunteers.
- Monitoring guest welfare throughout the shift and responding to any situations or emergencies that arise. Adhering to Glass Door’s operational and health & safety policies in all aspects of your work.

Everyone who completes one of our programmes joins the Frontline Fellowship. A growing community of over 3,000, it brings together social workers from across England at every level of experience and offers them continued training and development so they can be the best they can for the children and families they support.
The Fellowship team, sitting within in our external relations directorate, works to develop, empower and support these social workers. We provide a space for our fellows to connect with each other, build partnerships and draw on each other’s experiences.
Your role will be to lead and manage a team comprising of two programme managers, an officer and two coordinators, to steer them strategically to improve the life chances of children and families by enabling this rapidly expanding group of social workers to:
- develop their leadership and progress into more senior positions
- expand their toolkit and improve their social work practice
- cultivate and implement their innovative ideas
You will also work closely with the other managers in the external relations team – head of fundraising, communications and marketing manager and evaluation manager – as well as the external relations director, to maximise the charity’s impact through our fellows.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Model and engender an ambition for continuous innovation and improvement
- Ensure all areas of the team’s activity – Fellowship administration, fellow engagement and support, programme quality, event facilitation, project management – are of the highest standards
- Ensure the team tracks and analyses the relevant information to build a strong awareness of themes and learning across the team’s work
A little bit about you
We are looking for an experienced manager who will set ambitious team objectives and targets, tracking and analysing these and adapting them as necessary. You will build strong and effective relationships across the charity, with fellows and with external key stakeholders.
We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. About the role
Richmond AID have 3 main advice teams: Information Navigation, Benefits Advice and Money Advice. We also administer a number of grants on behalf of local grant giving charities and the local authority. Our teams are busier than ever and this role will play a vital part in supporting the team with administration tasks including; taking client enquiries from the phone, website and email and uploading them to our database, scanning and photocopying.
You will spend your time working directly with clients with a range of physical, sensory and mental health impairments to help them to fill in grant allocation forms and other forms and helping people to know their rights. You will also support our advice teams administratively; arranging appointments, sending emails and letters and uploading information to our database
You will receive training in a range of advice areas (housing, health and social care, benefits, transport and travel) as well as other relevant topics such as various mental health conditions, managing challenging behaviour, professional boundaries, and case management. You will be supported by a friendly team of experienced advisers who will have the opportunity to shadow and you will also have access to a range of external training and development opportunities.
You will need to have clear written and oral communication skills as you will need to make phone calls and write emails and letters to clients as well as providing progress updates to the team.
You will work closely with our experienced advice team and we can offer opportunities for training and development in a range of areas including social care, housing and benefits to support you on your journey to becoming and advisor.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have solid administration and organisational skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. You will have strong communication skills across all levels and will be a real team player with a genuine interest in supporting disabled people.
An interest in developing advice skills in essential and experience or a background in advice and information will be an advantage.
You will have excellent communication and IT skills, administrative skills and be fully competent on Microsoft applications. You will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about social justice and the empowerment of disabled people and excited to learn valuable skills on the job.

About the role
The Head of Major Gifts leads the development and stewardship of our major donors and plays a key role in the growth of our major gifts function. A key part of the role is to steward major donors including delivering an engagement programme with individuals who have the capacity to give 5-6 figure gifts as well as developing our new Artistic Director’s Circle, project syndicates and our annual Patron’s programme.
