Do you have experience of providing support, advice and advocacy and the ability to assess a client’s needs?
If so, St Giles Trust is looking for a highly motivated person to join us as a Youth Engagement Outreach Worker in our Young Women and Girls Outreach Service, which takes provision onto the streets of Scarborough to engage with ‘hard to reach’ young women and girls. This will involve building trusted relationships and offering person-centred support to each client to help them to be safe, move away from offending/anti-social behaviours and take positive choices.

About this key role
Our successful candidate will be expected to produce individual support plans and risk management plans for those we will be providing ongoing support to, and to promote inter-agency collaboration in the support process, ensuring you include appropriate agencies in the delivery of the service. We will also rely on you to develop and maintain effective relationships with partner agencies, including Early Help and Youth Justice teams, and Community Safety partners, while also supporting individuals to access and engage with support agencies.
Delivering a holistic support service, working independently or with colleagues as the situation dictates, is also a key element of this role, which will involve providing a support service that will include confidence building and self-awareness along with interventions aimed at preventing criminal and sexual exploitation, grooming, violence, sharing inappropriate media content.
What we are looking for
• Personal experience of the criminal justice system, served a prison sentence, or still be serving a prison sentence in a prison within reach of Scarborough.
• Experience negotiating with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of the project.
• Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people.
• To have a relevant youth work qualification or equivalent experience.
• A sound knowledge of local support services that may be applicable to young people.
• An understanding of the need to use support plans.
• Excellent IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Post 1: 37.5 hours per week consisting of 3-day shifts and 2 afternoon/evening shifts*

- Organise and implement a range of youth activities, such as drop-ins and one-on-one sessions, with availability for evening and weekend commitments.
- Oversee youth work sessions with a focus on creating safe and inclusive environments that adhere to established guidelines for conduct, safety, and safeguarding.
- Provide personalised mentorship, coaching, and informal education to empower young people in setting and achieving goals for personal and social growth.
- Lead projects that give young people a platform to express their concerns and aspirations within the community, fostering their leadership and decision-making abilities.·
- Maintain strong connections with local stakeholders and serve as a primary point of contact for youth, businesses, and community members, ensuring efficient reporting through internal systems.
About you:
You will have previous experience in supporting youth aged 11-24 to reach their full potential, especially those facing significant barriers, with individualised and successful interventions is essential for this role. Along with this, holding an Enhanced DBS Certificate, a Full UK Driving License with access to a vehicle. Have strong organisational skills, a proactive approach to task management, a readiness to work outside standard hours which include 2 evenings per week. You will have the capacity to drive a Mobile Youth Centre Van. - Experience of working within a fast moving and challenging working environment in the areas of mental health, care for young people, alcohol and drug use, independent living support
- Experience of using a high level or communication skills, both verbally and in writing, using Microsoft Office applications
- Full current driving licence or, if a disability prevents driving, an alternative means of transport to enable the duties of the post to be carried out in full.
- NISCC registered (or willing to become registered if appointed) and willing to be subject to Access NI checks. (Successful applicants must commence NISCC registration process prior to employment)

About the role:
The Non-Crimes Assessment Worker will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. They will work within the team to make proactive contact attempts with a high volume of new referrals. Their main focus will be contacting the police cases that may otherwise not get referred into the service. Once this contact is established complete initial needs and risk assessments. They shall provide initial advice and crisis safety planning before the case is allocated to an IDVA/caseworker or referred to the appropriate partner agency for ongoing support. They will provide this high quality support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from the age of 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice, civil remedies, housing and related matters.
About You:
You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and children. Be skilled in risk management and safety planning and is experienced in domestic violence advocacy, who has worked with a high volume of clients who have complex and multiple needs. You will have a countenance that remains calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis and you will have experience working within safeguarding procedures.

The service will provide a programme of support for individuals with mental health problems which, includes, face-to-face befriending in the home and community, community group activities, support by phone and video as well as signposting activities.

- Key working clients 1-1, gaining their trust, assisting with their benefits, and helping with their budgeting/finances
- Updating needs and risks assessments of the young people and incorporating your updates into each support plan
- Writing up the weekly and monthly reports on each member of your case load to maintain an organised, structured workplace. This will ensure that a supportive, yet empowering environment is supplied

Sound Minds is a charity, led by mental health service users, channelling the power of creativity and peer support to improve the lives of people living with long term mental ill health. Canerows is a project offering peer support to those who are in hospital and those living in the community.
Sound Minds and Canerows are starting an exciting new project which is about offering peer support across Wandsworth to people who are experiencing mental health difficulties and living in the community. We are working in an alliance with Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster Mind; Mushkil Aasaan; and Wandsworth Carers Centre.
Sound Minds is recruiting 2 Peer Support Workers (PSW) and 1 Senior Peer Support Worker (SPSW), the SPSW will carry more complex cases.
Mental Health Peer Support gives emotional support and promotes access to information and practical advice to people experiencing mental health difficulties. A key component is that these staff use their own direct lived experience of mental health difficulties to support other people. They will work collaboratively with people within their service, focusing on the person’s strengths and personal resources to offer educational, emotional and practical support towards goals that are defined by the person.
The Peer Support Workers themselves will be supported through peer support training and regular supervision.
Salary PSW: £25,000 per annum (Pro Rata) & 3% contribution to pension
Salary SPSW: £25,618 per annum (Pro Rata) & 3% contribution to pension
Hours: 21 hours per week
This fixed term contract ends on 31/3/26 and is renewable depending on funding.
Personal lived experience of mental ill health is essential for this role. You will be required to have a DBS (criminal records check) and satisfactory written references before starting.

Join Richmond Fellowship as a Recovery and Connect Worker and you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals access the support services and opportunities they need to improve their quality of life and ensure that their mental health is improving.
Chester and Wirral pathway is a community based project that will assist people in hospital ready for discharge home from mental health inpatient settings.
Your role will be in supporting patients in various hospital settings to overcome the barriers to them leaving hospital. This will include being part of MDT meetings, housing and benefits support, utility reconnection, identifying housing and a package of 12 week support upon discharge from hospital. Ideally candidates will have good housing experience. This is an agile role that will require travel between hospitals and the community.
Your challenge will be to support individuals with complex mental health needs to feel in control of their care, access mental health support and other local opportunities and build their emotional resilience. You’ll manage a caseload of individuals with mental health concerns, formulating support plans and establishing positive relationships with a range of multidisciplinary organisations.
You’ll need a significant understanding of mental health issues and substantial experience of working within a mental health setting where you dealt with ‘high risk’ clients and managing resources effectively. A good understanding of recovery and coproduction is important too, as is a proven ability to lead, supervise and motivate staff and delegate work appropriately. Adept at managing conflicting demands and priorities on time, you have a flexible attitude to working hours and, above all, keen to be part of something new and worthwhile that will change lives.
This is a fixed term role that ends on 1 April 2025. This is a full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37.5 hours per week.

We have two vacancies for a Hospital Mental Health Outreach Worker to join our team. These are full time positions. One is based at Lister Hospital/Letchworth Wellbeing Centre, and the other is based in Watford General Hospital/Watford Wellbeing Centre.
About the Project
Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver a one-to-one outreach service for people who are in hospitals across Hertfordshire.
This is a new arm of the project focused on serious violence, with one worker based at Watford General Hospital and one worker based at Lister Hospital working in A&E departments and wards facilitating discharge for people aged 16 - 25 who have been admitted to hospital due to being a victim of serious violence.
About the Role:
The Bounce Back Workers will be based at Watford General Hospital, Lister Hospital and HMN Centres, promoting joint working between A&E, creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from serious violence and mental ill health.
The aims of the Bounce Back service are; to provide up to 16 sessions of emotional and practical support, advice and information to patients. We will visit patients on the ward and continue the sessions in the local community and in patients homes once discharged. We will facilitate a smooth and timely hospital discharge and focus on re-integration back into the local community.
The Bounce Back Worker will work with the HMN Community Outreach Teams and the hospital staff to ensure patients are offered advice, information, and holistic support. The Bounce Back worker will use a recovery orientated approach working with patients on the ward, and in the local community, including in people’s homes.
The recovery approach includes empathy, warmth, acceptance, authenticity, compassion and humanity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical and emotional support to encourage patients to develop their independence within their local community.
- Facilitate a smooth discharge from hospital back to the community.
- Have a solid understanding on the impact of serious violence on an individual’s mental health.
- Have a working knowledge on the areas of serious violence including knife crime, cuckooing and county lines.
- Monitor outcomes and evaluate the service.
- Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of patients using the service is monitored and reviewed regularly.
- Embed a person centred and recovery orientated approach in all aspects of the roles and responsibilities.
