Purpose of the Consultancy
This role provides essential administrative support to the Sightsavers Malawi Country Office during a maternity leave period. The consultant will ensure smooth office operations, effective communication, and support for project activities, helping maintain continuity in eye health and disability inclusion programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate programme and admin activities: Organise meetings, events, and travel logistics for efficient project delivery.
- Manage office operations and communication: Oversee daily office systems, correspondence, and information flow.
- Supervise support staff: Lead and guide drivers and admin personnel to maintain operational standards.
- Handle logistics and procurement: Manage procurement, inventory, vehicle maintenance, and asset records in line with policies.
- Liaise with external partners: Work with contractors and service providers to ensure timely and compliant service delivery.

Consultant expertise

Payment Terms

About the role
As a Maintenance Surveyor, you’ll deliver repairs and voids maintenance services for up to 800 properties across your region, collaborating with our teams and contractors to provide our customers with high-quality, timely repairs. Your proactive approach and commitment to excellence will inspire others and make sure our property services are constantly improving.
The role is a mixture of site visits and desk-based work. You'll visit customer homes to understand their repairs needs, using your expert knowledge of the make-up of domestic buildings, HHSRS and schedule of rates to qualify repairs. You'll raise the repairs on our bespoke Housing Management System and update the customer account through to the completion of the works. You'll also uphold our Empty Homes (Voids) standard to deliver first-class quality homes in a timely manner.
In line with Awaab’s Law, you’ll play a key role in identifying and addressing hazards such as damp and mould promptly and effectively, ensuring that health-related repairs are not delayed. Your understanding of housing disrepair will be essential in ensuring compliance, protecting customer wellbeing, and reducing risk.
Through your collaboration with contractors, housing teams, and internal colleagues, you'll help improve service efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and contribute to Accent’s mission of providing quality homes and services.
About you
You should have a HNC in Building (or an equivalent qualification) or experience in maintenance and construction, an understanding of building design, building fabrics and associated lifecycles, plus a strong understanding of contract performance and budget management. This is a key role leading the Council’s surveying function and its Legal Disrepair and ADR service, ensuring that homes are safe, compliant, and well-maintained while minimising disrepair liability and safeguarding the Council’s legal and financial position. About the role
In this role, you will oversee the implementation, management, and delivery of all electrical, fire detection, door entry, lift, CCTV, and digital TV installations with the Council’s supply partners. Responsibilities include repair, maintenance, and major projects for both existing and new Council housing installations.
About you
You will oversee projects from start to completion with minimal supervision, including budget management, preparing specifications and drawings, contract procurement, and supervising electrical works for the Council’s housing stock.
A degree in Building Surveying or equivalent work experience in a similar role is preferred with i.e. HNC/HND in Building Surveying/Construction or relevant Electrical qualification. Strong working knowledge of building defects and solutions is also required. Knowledge of housing legislation, best practices for repairs and maintenance, CDM, and Building Regulations is essential.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join our team. This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring the long term financial health and sustainability of St John’s Foundation and its trading subsidiaries.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will lead and take responsibility for our day-to-day financial operations and manage a dedicated team of finance professionals. You will ensure robust financial control, accurate reporting, and effective systems that underpin the charity’s strategic ambitions and operational delivery.

What You’ll Do
· Manage the finance team, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and high standards of control.
· Manage all aspects of financial management — including cashflow, balance sheet integrity, and statutory reporting.
· Lead on the statutory reporting and oversee budget setting and management accounts.
· Manage the next phase of our finance system implementation, embedding process improvements and digital innovation.

About You
We’re looking for an experienced senior finance professional who combines technical expertise with strong leadership skills.
You will have:
· A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
· Proven significant experience in senior finance leadership, including management accounts, budgeting, and statutory reporting.
· Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and charity finance (including restricted and endowment funds).
· Demonstrable strong knowledge of financial controls, accounting standards, and (ideally) charity finance.
· Proven experience managing or implementing finance systems or digital transformation projects.
· Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels.
· A collaborative, proactive, and improvement-focused approach.
Desirable:

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is looking for a suitably skilled & highly capable Senior Finance Officer. This is a pivotal position within a small, dedicated finance team, where you will support the effectiveness of day-to-day financial support and ensure that accurate, timely information is available to management. You’ll be responsible for recording financial data across a range of systems and processes, helping to provide a robust financial foundation for Suffolk Wildlife Trust.
A major focus of the role will be the accurate and efficient processing of all financial transactions. This includes the purchase and sales ledgers, carrying out bank reconciliations, managing credit control and supporting the approval of payment runs.
Your attention to detail and strong numeracy skills will be essential in maintaining the integrity of the Trust’s financial records and ensuring that everything ties up smoothly each month and at year end.
Alongside core finance work, you will support the Trust’s trading operations by managing the online shop, overseeing stock for both online and retail outlets and working with EPOS and ECWID systems. You’ll also provide finance support to the Consultancy Team and Café operations, helping these income-generating activities run smoothly and contribute to the Trust’s wider objectives.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will support key financial cycles including year-end and the annual audit for both the Trust and SWT Trading, as well as month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts. You’ll also assist with VAT returns, legacies, project reconciliations, restricted fund allocations, budgeting and ad hoc reporting, giving you a broad and varied workload.
The ideal candidate will have strong numeracy and Excel skills, previous experience in a similar finance role and either AAT qualified or qualified by equivalent experience.
