At St John's College, we're currently looking for a Property Compliance Officer to join the team.
You'll lead on day-to-day responsibilities for property, health and safety and vehicle fleet regulatory and statutory compliance at St John's College and its residential settings.
You'll routinely conduct property inspections and identify any corrective actions required, ensure that these issues are recorded, and remedial actions are followed up. You'll support with the management of the vehicle fleet, carrying out routine vehicle safety inspections, driver checks and maintain related documentation and/or systems.
You'll maintain appropriate records of reported accidents, incidents and/or dangerous occurrences and provide recommendations for improvement where required. You'll produce termly health and safety statistics for SLT, Governor and Trustee reports and other as required. You'll actively promote safe working practices and support staff and managers with the production of generic, specific or dynamic risk assessments.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Valid UK/EU driving license which is free from penalty points that relate to disqualifications or other serious road traffic offences.
- Knowledge of building, mechanical, electrical compliance in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and/or regulations.
- Practical experience of effective risk assessment and management and able to provide professional support and advice.
- Experience of using and maintaining paper and electronic records/systems and effective compliance monitoring.

About the role
As the Area Service Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring our contracts with partners and/or commissioners deliver to the highest standards, in a way that creates maximum impact.

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Treasury to join our growing Association. As a senior member of the finance team the role is responsible for delivering a first-class treasury management and business planning service to the Association.
About Us
Hightown Housing Association Limited is a charitable housing association operating principally in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire, providing a wide range of housing and support services for families and single people including people with disabilities.
Hightown currently manages almost 9,000 homes and employs over 1,000 staff. The housing association has an annual turnover of £136 million and a development programme through which the Association will grow to 10,000 homes by March 2027.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the role will manage and motivate the Treasury team ensuring that it runs as an efficient and effective service whilst fulfilling internal and external customer requirements.
Key to the role is managing the Association’s portfolio of over £850m of bank loans and capital borrowings, ensuring that accurate and up-to-date records are maintained, and excellent relationships are preserved with our banking and institutional investor partners.
The Head of Treasury is also responsible for creating and maintaining the long-term financial business plan for the Association and producing detailed sensitivity analysis and multi-variant stress-testing.
About you
You will be a subject matter expert and will drive continuous improvement in the efficiency, security and control of daily treasury and business planning activities.
Holding a professional accountancy qualification, (eg ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and ideally a treasury qualification (eg MCT, ACT) you will:
- Be proactive with the ability to work to a general brief with minimal supervision
- Have excellent financial analytical and treasury skills
- Have experience of managing a loan portfolio in excess of £500m
- Have experience of negotiating and managing loan agreements with banks
- Have experience of arranging borrowings from institutional investors through the capital markets
- Have the ability and experience to develop and maintain appropriate treasury systems procedures and internal financial controls
- Have experience of building and maintaining complex business plan models
- Be a great leader and able to manage and motivate staff to achieve high standards of performance

Main Purpose of the Role:
Royal British Legion Industries Ltd. (RBLI) is both a charity and a company limited by guarantee. The trustees of RBLI are therefore responsible for oversight of the organisation under both charity and company law. They are they legal directors, as determined by company law and the Articles of Association. The day to day running of RBLI is the responsibility of the Chief Executive and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This role, which reports to the Director of Governance, Compliance & Business Systems, supports the board of trustees and the SLT in all areas of governance.
Overview of the Role & Team:
RBLI is a diverse and complex organisation, with divisions that cover social care, property management, estates management, welfare and employment solutions, manufacturing, and marketing / fundraising. There are also several support functions including people and culture, finance and performance, business systems, and risk and compliance. This role is an essential part of the change process currently ongoing across RBLI.
The team is overseen by the Director of Governance, Compliance and Business Systems. Key working relationships include the board of trustees, the SLT, Assistant Directors, the Strategic Assistant, the wider Governance & Compliance Division, and the support functions.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Governance:
- Oversight of all board and sub-committee meetings, ensuring there is an efficient and effective structure to achieve organisational objectives including the review and maintenance of all terms of reference.
- Compliance with internal KPIs in relation to issue of board and sub-committee papers.
- Oversight of all matters arising and actions.
- Support the induction process for new trustees.
- Support the board and committee effectiveness review.
- Submission of all statutory returns.
- Ensuring compliance with the Companies Act and the Charities Act.
- Oversight of any governance related returns.
- Oversight of key RBLI registers such as Declaration of Interests.
- Oversee submission of documentation during the annual audit process.
Company Secretarial:
- Responsible for planning and managing the annual cycle of meetings for the board and sub-committees, including maintenance of the forward plans and agendas.
- Taking minutes of the boards and sub-committees (shared responsibility).
- Oversee the logistics for the meetings.
- Responsible for planning the AGM.
Legal and Assurance:
- Monitor compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, proving advice to SLT and members of staff as necessary.
- Oversight and communication of all compliance policies such as Conflicts of Interests and Gifts & Hospitality.
- Supporting the Director of Governance, Compliance & Business Systems to deliver the assurance and compliance programmes.
Risk Management:
- Managing the insurance process in terms of:
- Collating information in relation to claims
- Submitting claims information
- Supporting the Finance Team in the annual insurance renewal process
Personal Attributes:
- Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work under own initiative and effectively prioritise work / balance competing demands

Requirement for the Role:

Role and Responsibilities
New Position: Due to the increase in REB memberships and activities, a new full-time events role is being created to support the executive team.
Key Tasks – support the MD in creating and delivering a member engagement and events programme
1. Conception and collaboration of member events, through to completion
2. Promoting events to members, working alongside REB’s external PR/Communications agency
3. Managing event registrations and guest lists
4. Responsible for line managing the events administrator
5. Responsible for REB events planning, logistics, analysis (report & presentation) and follow-up actions
6. Attending meetings with members re event planning and development
7. Reporting quarterly to the board and attending board meetings with the Executive team
Detailed Responsibilities
1. Develop, manage and deliver REB’s event programme (working with MD and ED&I coordinator):
o upload event listings to website;

o oversee registrations & comms;
o obtain event feedback
2. Monitor and evaluate events including reviewing feedback and attendance
3. Coordinate the CEO Breakfasts series
4. Maintain the Events page on the REB website
