At St John's College, we're currently looking for a Property Compliance Officer to join the team.
You'll lead on day-to-day responsibilities for property, health and safety and vehicle fleet regulatory and statutory compliance at St John's College and its residential settings.
You'll routinely conduct property inspections and identify any corrective actions required, ensure that these issues are recorded, and remedial actions are followed up. You'll support with the management of the vehicle fleet, carrying out routine vehicle safety inspections, driver checks and maintain related documentation and/or systems.
You'll maintain appropriate records of reported accidents, incidents and/or dangerous occurrences and provide recommendations for improvement where required. You'll produce termly health and safety statistics for SLT, Governor and Trustee reports and other as required. You'll actively promote safe working practices and support staff and managers with the production of generic, specific or dynamic risk assessments.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Valid UK/EU driving license which is free from penalty points that relate to disqualifications or other serious road traffic offences.
- Knowledge of building, mechanical, electrical compliance in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and/or regulations.
- Practical experience of effective risk assessment and management and able to provide professional support and advice.
- Experience of using and maintaining paper and electronic records/systems and effective compliance monitoring.

About the role
As the Area Service Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring our contracts with partners and/or commissioners deliver to the highest standards, in a way that creates maximum impact.

We are seeking an experienced Rent Officer to join our small, dispersed Rent Team which consists of a Rent Team Leader; two Rent Officers, and two part-time Rent Team Administrators which sits within our Housing and Property services. In conjunction with our Supported Housing services, the Rent Team is responsible for the collection of the organisation's rent and other property charges. As a Rent Officer you will manage a caseload of properties and will be responsible for monitoring rent accounts; ensuring that appropriate action is taken to maximize rental income. You will ensure accuracy of rent accounts’ and service users’ information held on the rent management database (Pyramid).
In addition, you will liaise with relevant local authorises housing benefit departments; ensuring positive relationships are forged. You will have knowledge of the external environment in which YMCA DownsLink Group works and keep abreast of key changes, particularly around Welfare Reform.
Hybrid role – mainly based at Reed House in Hove, with an expectation to work out of other locations across the YMCA DownsLink Group area when required. This is a demanding, yet hugely fulfilling new post in which the post holder will have overall responsibilty for the management and day to day operations of our new mobile support van. A large proportion of the post holder's time will be spent taking the van along with a team of volunteers on outreach to where there are survivors of sex trafficking. Our immediate priority area is Bedford. This will involve driving to sites of sexual exploitation and trafficking, such as the streets, properties used as brothels, airports and other places, as necessary. The post holder will lead outreach sessions supported by trained volunteers, in partnership with Bedfordshire Police and UK Border Force. The post holder will be a part of Azalea's frontline team (we call this Encompass) and will work with them to offer survivors of sex trafficking crisis intervention and ongoing support. The nature of this form of outreach will require the post holder to work flexible and unsociable hours (37.5 hours per week), however Azalea offers a generous annual leave allowance. Since this is a new role, the post holder will be required to use their initiative and draw on the knowledge and experience of the team to develop a full-time operational plan for the support van.

The Role
We are seeking a Schools Premises Officer to provide an effective and efficient administrative service to approximately 100 schools and ODBE in respect of the delivery of capital projects and property management. This is a key role which will involve working with many different stakeholders across the Diocese, including external consultants, Head teachers, bursars, school business managers, Governing Bodies and their representatives.
About You
The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills and ability to deal with people at all levels to gain trust and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders; excellent project management skills with the ability to ensure that contracts are carried out within costs, on time and to the correct quality level and good financial budgeting skills to manage the delivery of capital projects.
You do not need to be a practising Christian or have a faith to work with us - around 50% of staff are not practising Christians but are comfortable with the Christian ethos that underpins the work it does. However, all staff do have a desire to make a difference.
Please note this role does require the post holder to have the ability to travel within a large geographical and sometimes within rural areas where there is no access to public transport when required.
The Organisation

You’ll then devise creative ways to share these stories so they connect with our different audiences, from prospective residents to new supporters and beyond.
A self-starter, you’ll need to be able to work independently within agreed brand guidelines and with minimal supervision. You’ll also need to be highly organised, ensuring that deadlines are met and that content lands in a timely manner. Through analytics, you’ll monitor engagement, using these insights to inform our evolving content plan and drive growth.
As well as creating compelling content for our core communications platforms, you’ll also provide valuable support to our ambitious press plan, helping to amplify the voice of Pilgrims’ Friend Society in local and national media.
