This role at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) is a key role within the finance team and will help to guide the Senior Team through the provision and ownership of insightful management information.

Job Purpose

Preparing monthly management accounts and quarterly VAT returns for RCVS (the professional membership organisation or ‘College’) in accordance with relevant RCVS policies and UK legislation including UK GAAP and the Charities SORP.

Key Responsibilities

• To prepare accurate monthly cost centre and college wide management accounts for RCVS to an agreed timetable for varying audiences, including variance analysis, with appropriate relevant commentary.
• To review and discuss the cost centre management accounts with the Heads of Department throughout the year and to enhance reporting and understanding
• To prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review them working with the Transactional Finance Lead.
• To work with the Head of Finance (HoF) preparing budgets, forecasts, financial monitoring and commentary
• To manage departmental cost allocations
• To maintain the chart of accounts and data integrity of the accounting system including deleting and archiving historic financial data as appropriate
• Provide support to the wider finance team
• Liaise with the Transactional Finance Lead in the monitoring of the monthly finance timetable and progression of tasks whilst raising any concerns with the HoF
• Complete and submit quarterly VAT returns (following HoF review) for RCVS in accordance with relevant RCVS policies and UK legislation.
• To support the preparation of the annual financial accounts and supporting workings, analysis and statements and to liaise as appropriate, with the auditors.
• To act as the Finance Risk Champion and to maintain the finance risk register
• To maintain the finance contract register
• To support an approach of continuous improvement to finance systems and processes.
• Monitor the application of the financial controls and to flag any compliance issues or risks
• To provide ad hoc support to the payroll function in the event of team member absence, to ensure continuity of critical payroll operations

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree level
• Finalist or fully qualified with a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Strong background in management accounts
• Previous experience of preparing VAT returns and an understanding of partial-VAT claims.
• Previous experience of preparing financial statements under the Charities SORP
• Knowledge of SAGE200 Professional accountancy software (desired)
• Previous experience of working within the Not-for-Profit Sector
• Previous experience of working within a Regulator, Royal College or Professional Membership body (desirable)
• To demonstrate confidence and clarity when engaging with colleagues across the organisation

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, enthusiastic and confident individual to join us as Programme Manager to develop and manage delivery of Phase 2 of the Early Connect Programme. Following successful delivery of Phase 1, Inspire has been selected to deliver Phase 2 of this pilot programme alongside the GLA/DFE and lead partners Rinova.

This role has responsibility for developing and delivering work related learning activities for young people with the aim of enhancing their skills and understanding of future career opportunities and transitioning into apprenticeships.

All delivery is aimed towards enabling young people to learn about apprenticeship opportunities and how to position themselves to apply and move into employment as an apprentice. You will work closely with young people, employers and business volunteers to deliver fun, engaging and labour market-relevant careers related support and workshops to young people in both online and in-person formats. You will have the chance to be creative through planning, delivering and evaluating the programme to ensure services are current and meet the stakeholder needs.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Managing development, delivery and coordination of work related learning activities for phase 2 of the Early Connect programme.
• Accountable for achieving agreed outcomes, outputs and personal targets including recruitment, employability training and learner progression targets.
• Managing a caseload of participants requiring Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG), confidence building and employability training.
• Accurately managing data and reporting requirements of funders of the Early Connect programme.
• Maintaining and building effective relationships with programme participants and stakeholders.

Purpose of role: 

Increasing and diversifying the sources of funding for A Rocha UK’s work is key to our fundraising strategy. The Grants and Legacies Manager will play a key role identifying potential granting bodies, writing and submitting bids, and managing reporting on grants from a range of sources, including  large foundations, and Church denominations.  In doing so, they will work closely with other staff, especially the CEO, programme staff, and other members of the fundraising team. They will also manage occasional legacies and, as capacity allows, develop a proactive legacy promotion programme. The successful candidate will have previous experience securing funds from trusts, as well as excellent writing skills, an interest in the environment and an active Christian faith. • Managing H&health and safety through the lifecycle of all projects
• Managing the consultations, admissions, branding, marketing, FF&E and uniform of all new schools
• Providing professional services to the individual schools and ensuring the Federation complies with relevant property legislation, regulations and guidance
• Assisting with the development of policies and procedures concerning the Harris Federation estate
• Assisting with the framework for all estates related statutory elements, including oversight of the implementation and reporting of audits

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the CEO, we are looking for an experienced charity finance person, with accountancy qualifications.  (CIMA,CIPFA, CCAB, ACCA, AAT etc)

This a pivotal role and the post holder will be a member of the Trust’s Senior Management Team, with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the Trust’s finances, working closely with CEO and Board.

The role would suit someone who is motivated by the Trust’s purpose and who is good at building relationships. 

We are a home working charity which is committed to flexible working.  We are open to considering a range of working patterns for this 0.6 FTE role.

Main responsibilities

· Alongside external accountant, manage the maintenance of the financial accounting system and monthly accounting processes (BACS runs, Expenses, Accruals, Prepayments, Deferred Income, Payroll etc)

· Review management accounts and liaise with accountants over variances.

· Lead on annual budget process

· Maintain and report on regular forecasts throughout the year

· Monitor individual programme funding to ensure all spend is within budget

· Lead on annual audit and creation of statutory accounts by external accountants.

· Distinguish between Restricted and Unrestricted funding to ensure compliance is met and classification is correct

· Support and advise budget holders in matters relating to the financial management of their departments

· Provide financial input to assist with new funding bids and reports to existing funders and partners.

· Ensure appropriate systems and internal financial controls are implemented and maintained

· Responsible for some areas of governance including insurance, Companies House and Charity Commission registration

· Secretariat for the Finance and Audit Committee

· Attendance to SMT, Board and Finance and Audit Committee meetings, including production of relevant reports

· Responsible for certain policy reviews including; Finance, Expenses, Reserves

· Provide financial information and analysis to the Board, SMT and the wider staffing team as and when required

· Ensure that compliance with relevant financial legislative and regulatory requirements including the Charity SORP are met.

· Manage reporting to Companies House, the Charities Commission

· Support the overall mission of the charity and occasionally carry out other duties as required by the CEO

The Healthier Lifestyle team at Age UK Croydon offers a range of inclusive and accessible activities and events across the borough of Croydon combining exercise, and social engagement in a variety of local settings.  These sessions help reduce isolation, improve independence, prevent falls, increase fitness levels and manage health conditions.  They also provide social engagement and interaction, information and support around living with dementia, a safe and welcoming space for all to engage and relax.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Manager to lead our Healthier Lifestyle team which includes a team of 3 part-time Project Officers, one Dementia Support Officer, Dementia Project officer and a great team of volunteers. Addressing health inequalities and fulfilling our mission means that the Healthier Lifestyles service has opportunity to grow and expand. We want to reach younger older people to encourage “Act Now Age Well”

An important element of this role will be looking for opportunities to develop existing services and to introduce new services including some paid services. The Healthier Lifestyles Manager is a member of the Integrated Leadership team to support our One Organisation One team ethos for integrated working and holistic support for the older residents of Croydon.

Some duties will include (but are not limited to) –

• Oversee effective data recording for monitoring and reporting.
• Monitor outcomes and impact and prepare reports on the projects progress for Commissioners, Funders and AUKC Trustee Board

Job Description

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Senior Research Manager to manage the monitoring, evaluation and learning activities of a high profile National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) portfolio of translational, clinical and applied health research infrastructure funding schemes. 

Job Purpose 
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the post holder will work closely with the rest of the infrastructure team (especially the Programme Leads and Senior Research Managers who are responsible for the development and management of the infrastructure schemes), and with Data Analytics colleagues (who are responsible for designing systems for capturing, cleaning and presenting data), to manage the infrastructure reporting and evaluation activities. At an award level, you will develop, improve and maintain monitoring and reporting processes, and at a scheme level, you will implement monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches, including overseeing the delivery and/or commissioning of impact evaluations. You will support a wider programme around visibility and the strategic use of data within infrastructure, considering links to policy directives around Busting Bureaucracy, the developing NIHR digital strategy and system operability issues with NHS and University systems. 

You will be adept at dealing with an array of data sources (metrics, narrative and financial reporting information), have a good understanding of research impact, an understanding of the routes to achieving it, and how to apply monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches to generate insight that can evidence impact and support continuous improvement of scheme funding and support processes. You will have experience of managing complex projects, knowledge of the UK’s research environment and political agenda, and honed skills in stakeholder management. You will be a strategic thinker, capable of seeing the issues and solutions from a number of different stakeholder perspectives to see the bigger picture. You will be comfortable dealing with complexity and developing an approach to balance the needs of different stakeholders. You will be a team player, able to work in close partnership with a number of teams at NIHR and the DHSC.

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage elements of the infrastructure monitoring processes: you will manage parts of the infrastructure reporting process both internally at the technical systems level and externally with users to support training and propose improvements. You will work with others to develop new reporting processes (for new awards), maintain existing annual and quarterly reporting, support the review of submitted reports by the team and the production of feedback, and drive process improvements through a continuous improvement cycle.

• Development of reporting outputs: support quantitative and qualitative data interrogation in projects across the infrastructure. Interrogating data to support strategic reviews, and, where feasible and appropriate, designing visual dashboards of progress using data collected and collated for reporting purposes. Also draw on award level reported data to feed into strategic scheme level evaluations and reviews, to produce impact case studies, and to feed into organisational level learning and reporting. This work will help articulate the contribution of the NIHR infrastructure to the wider health and social care system as well as feeding into broader NIHR initiatives such as the NIHR Impact Programme.

• Scheme reviews: support the delivery of scheme mid-term reviews and evaluations, working closely with the infrastructure team’s Senior Research Managers responsible for specific schemes and the central Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team to design and plan an appropriate review process for individual schemes.

• Stakeholder engagement: through appropriate stakeholder engagement, developing a sound understanding of data needs, minimising additional requirements of key stakeholders and understanding the types of reporting outputs/feedback that would provide the greatest utility for accountability and learning purposes. Proactively share key learnings across the infrastructure team and with wider stakeholder groups as appropriate.

• Flexible support to the team:  flexible approach to work tasks with ability to ‘muck in’ and provide support on additional tasks across the team during busy times.

Line Management:

• The post holder will be responsible for the line management of one Research Manager and will matrix manage other team members, where appropriate.

Qualifications

Experience and Technical Skills

Required Criteria: 

• A PhD degree in biomedical or health sciences research (or significant equivalent sector experience)
• Experience of implementation or management of monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches including impact assessment and reporting, ideally within health and care research
• Data collection, collation and analysis skills using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
• Current knowledge of the UK’s health and care research and policy landscape
• Strategic thinker able to interpret complex information while having a clear view of the “big picture”
• Solutions orientated with evidence of delivering projects, requiring evidence synthesis, report writing and developing implementable recommendations

Desirable Criteria:

• Specialist training/knowledge in monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches and methods
• Experience of authoring high quality impact reports and case study reports for a variety of technical and general audiences
• Experience of developing electronic dashboards using visualisation tools such as Qlik Sense, Looker Studio or equivalents
• Line management and staff development experience

The Service Manager role assumes responsibility for all aspects of SWAN’s West Berkshire statutory advocacy services. This includes IMCA, Paid Rep, Care Act and IMHA. Our Service Manager is also responsible for the delivery of SWAN’s social value projects in West Berkshire.

endpoint protection, firewalls, secure email gateways, MFA, etc.).
