The London IV and Advocacy Service delivers Independent Visitors, Advocacy, Appropriate Adults in Age Assessments and Return Home Interviews for children in contact with Children's Social Service.

In this role, you will be leading a dynamic and diverse team of employed and freelance children Advocates and Volunteer Coordinators that frontline these services. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Casework management

• Oversee the casework service delivery by managing a potential high number of referrals colleagues in the regions and professionals effectively, by deciding eligibility for services, and providing timely, helpful, and legally accurate responses at all times.
• Line manage all casework advisers by supporting and enabling them to provide high quality information and advice support, and signposting to external specialist agencies in a sensitive, confidential and professional manner.

Service development and delivery

• Maintain high quality, current client records in accordance with organisational policies, funder requirements, and relevant legislation, and support advisers and volunteers to manage their data within the client database.
• Develop and maintain excellent professional relationships with a range of practitioners including local authority social workers, managers, legal representatives, health and education professionals and voluntary sector agencies, referring children who are age disputed to other agencies where it is in the best interests of the child.

Safe Passage International (SPI) is recruiting an Arrivals and Social Support Worker to support to continuing and sustainable growth in our ground-breaking work to ensure that safe routes to sanctuary exist for all people seeking asylum, and that the young people and families we work with have dignity and safety on arrival.

This Arrivals and Social Support Worker will work with young people and families to support them in their reunification and arrival to the UK. This legal casework is facilitated by our UK Legal Team and covers a range of geographic regions inside and outside of Europe, including responding to emerging crises such as working to support people fleeing Afghanistan, Ukraine, Sudan and Palestine.

Reunification and resettlement is a difficult process. This role will involve conducting pre-arrival needs assessments, preparing the family for the reunification, and supporting them after they arrive in the UK. The Arrivals and Social Support Worker will also help young people and families transition into their new life, by supporting them with the practical and emotional aspects of resettling in the UK. You will work with the family and professionals and act as a bridge into longer term services and support. This role will also provide social support on a case-by-case basis for others in vulnerable situations, including family members pre-arrival, as well as to those on our Young Leaders Programme. This is a challenging and extremely rewarding role for candidates with a good understanding of the challenges young people and refugees face on arrival to the UK.

We are looking for candidates with strong social support skills, as detailed in the Person Specification. Experience in a similar role would be welcome, but this could also be your first paid position in the charity sector, or you could be returning to work after time out. Job Overview

Job Requirements:

About the Role

We're seeking a driven, empathetic, Programme Officer to help make a difference in the lives of asylum seekers, refugees, and young people in London.

As a Programme Officer, you'll play an important role in supporting our work, from helping recruit and train volunteer mentors to ensuring our CRM system is up to date and being the first point of contact for young people and their families. You’ll also ensure our mentors feel supported and will help them to provide a great experience for the young people they support.

Your role will also involve hands-on activities, like organising half-term trips, running weekly Youth Support Groups, and working directly with young people in temporary accommodation.

About You

You'll be a confident communicator, who enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds and has a passion for supporting children and young people to improve outcomes. Alongside an excellent ability to manage multiple tasks, you'll also be able to work as part of a growing team. You'll have empathy for people in challenging circumstances such as those seeking asylum, and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the challenges that young people go through on a daily basis.

The Talent Set are delighted to be working with a fantastic charity supporting young unaccompanied refugees in England who are looking for an Interim Head of Fundraising & Communications to join their team for an initial 6 months period.

The Head of Fundraising & Communications will operate as an effective member of the Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO and acting as the strategic lead for the charity’s fundraising and communications activity.

Given the fluctuating nature of statutory income (currently c.75% of total income) it will be the responsibility of the Head of Fundraising & Communications to develop and implement a fundraising strategy that enables the organisation to diversify its income portfolio, ensuring a sustainable funding model that spreads risk and allows for greater donor engagement.

There is a blank canvas to be creative and try new things, with lots of scope for the successful applicant to determine where the network opportunities might lie, build long term relationships and develop an exciting programme of external communications and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate as an effective member of the Leadership Team, working collaboratively to ensure the delivery of organisational objectives.
• Develop, lead and deliver the fundraising strategy – focused on diversification and sustainable income whilst remaining hands on in the establishment of new income streams.
• Establish clear stewardship plans for all supporters, maximising their engagement with the charity.
• Develop and implement the communications strategy – utilising external comms to engage supporters and underpin income generation whilst raising awareness about the issues faced by unaccompanied child refugees.

Person Specification:

• Proven expertise of fundraising across different income streams (e.g. trusts and foundations, community, regional, philanthropy). Expertise of developing new income streams from scratch/a low base would be beneficial but not essential.
• Relational approach – focused on developing long term commitments and support from key stakeholders and donor audiences.
• Experience of working in a communications role/closely with communications teams to maximise the opportunities to engage externally and increase support/awareness.
• Creative approach to fundraising, with realistic ambitions within a small charity environment.

About the Felix Project

The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe. 

Our vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.  

We rescue surplus food from businesses, supermarkets, restaurants and farms. This food is nutritious, in-date, and safe and includes a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. If we did not rescue this food, it would be at risk of going to waste. Instead, we deliver it free of charge to London charities, schools, food banks, food hubs and other organisations serving people in need. Our food is a vital lifeline for children and families, people on low incomes, people who have lost their jobs, the homeless, refugees, domestic abuse survivors, the elderly and keyworkers.

Purpose of the Job

The Green Scheme operates point-to-point collection and delivery routes throughout the day and into the evenings (up until approx. 21:30). The purpose of this role will be to oversee out of hours routes in the evening, covering up until the latest route start time of 19:30.

The role will be involved in all aspects of co-ordination for Green Scheme operational activities. The role will be key in ensuring routes (predominantly evening routes) operate as smoothly as possible to ensure we deliver as much food as we are able to. 

You will be a key contact for relevant partners on routes (volunteers, food suppliers, community organisations) and the main point of contact for out of hours routes. You will communicate changes and update all partners where necessary and provide support to volunteers undertaking routes to ensure they have a positive volunteer experience.

Purpose

Kids in Need of Defense UK is a collaboration between four award-winning, UK based not for profits that specialise in children’s immigration and asylum law. We partner with lawyers and law firms across the UK to provide the highest quality legal advice and representation for free to undocumented children and young people. Central England Law Centre (CELC) is the UK's Largest Law Centre and the lead partner in the KIND UK collaboration. The successful candidate will be working with Central England Law Centre (CELC) on the KIND UK project.

This is a key role for which we’re seeking a suitably qualified and experienced immigration adviser. They will be responsible for providing an excellent frontline service to KIND UK clients, leading on all matters relating to the assessment and triage of new referrals to the service. 

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities:

• Assess referrals which have been flagged for legal advice by KIND UK administrators, for merit and suitability for the KIND UK project
• Assess and agree the appropriate level of service, making the initial triaging decision on referrals
• Provide internal legal advice on referrals with legal complexities
• Provide one-off advice to prospective clients via telephone and/or email, where appropriate
• Make onward referrals to other suitable immigration advisers and other services, where appropriate

Personal Specification:

Essential:

• OISC L3 or admitted as a solicitor or barrister in the UK or equivalent right to give immigration advice
• Significant post-qualification experience in child, young person and adult immigration and nationality law
• Broad and confident knowledge of UK immigration and nationality law and policy
• Experienced and confident in making independent and swift decisions on legal issues in immigration and nationality law

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a triage function
• Experience of working with vulnerable clients
• Experience of working with social workers and other children's services professionals
