This is a senior role, reporting to the Head of Communications, Fundraising and Advocacy. It will involve contributing to our long-term fundraising strategy and identifying new funding opportunities, as well as delivering a range of initiatives including sponsored events, appeals, and legacy campaigns.

We are seeking someone with a positive and ambitious approach towards fundraising challenges, bringing creativity and energy.

The post will be part of our integrated Communications, Fundraising and Advocacy team. As well as working closely with every other member of the team, it will also involve collaborating with our wider staff team, to effectively understand our funding needs and convey these to potential donors.

We are therefore seeking someone with excellent teamwork skills, who will bring new experience and expertise, while working effectively with colleagues to strengthen our fundraising.

• Our membership comprises PWS associations in 47 countries and we support individual families and professionals in over 70 other countries.

Key Fundraising Responsibilities

• Develop communications content that will invigorate our existing donors and inspire new ones leading to increased giving by individuals to IPWSO.
• Focusing in particular on our website and social media channels, communicate our achievements, impacts and needs with a view to influencing IPWSO’s online supporters to make donations and engage in fundraising initiatives.
• Provide outstanding donor care to encourage a high level of retention and repeat donations.
• Work with IPWSO’s Fundraising Committee on a variety of fundraising initiatives, which may include a new collaborative global fundraiser to be rolled out in 2025.
• Act as the organisational lead for IPWSO’s CRM (Donorfy) and utilise it to improve the donor journey.
• Develop a robust pipeline of case studies for use in our fundraising campaigns.

Key Communications Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for IPWSO’s public email address and social media channels and ensure that timely and appropriate replies are issued.
• Manage IPWSO’s social media channels, creating original and engaging posts, and actively engaging with our audiences.
• Manage Google Ad Grant campaigns with an emphasis on growing our supporter base and increasing individual giving.
• Keep up to date with emerging trends in digital communications and social media, and recommend potential new channels for fundraising and audience engagement.
• Maintain and develop the IPWSO website ensuring its security and that it functions both as an effective supporter acquisition tool and a means by which people can easily access information about PWS.
• Produce compelling monthly newsletters and an Annual Report.
• Review and update IPWSO’s Communications Strategy in line with its Strategic Plan.
• Uphold and showcase the IPWSO mission and brand.
• Working with IPWSO’s Publication and Communication Committee, oversee the production and design of a range of educational resources for families and professionals.
• Oversee copywriting and proofreading within IPWSO.
• Support IPWSO’s members and liaise with its stakeholders internationally in support of our shared goals.

In this role, you will monitor the external funding environment to identify suitable sources of charitable trust and foundation funding and tender opportunities for projects and programmes of activity. We are looking to appoint a Fundraising Officer to join our highly successful fundraising team. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in both fundraising and in the third sector. What to expect in a fundraising role?

The Fundraising Officer role is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same.

A typical day will have different meetings, priorities and team projects. Corporate and University partnerships often involve supporting several different areas of a business or university with varying content, ideas and stewardship, including hosting supporters at our learning centres. Each fundraising area meets regularly to discuss challenges, new ideas and improvements, and the broader fundraising team meets monthly to reflect on progress to date and plan for the rest of the year ahead.

This role will also involve working with colleagues at our centres across the UK to organise workshops that are hosted and/or supported by our corporate and university partners, getting to know our different teams and helping thousands of young people to access vital learning and skillset opportunities each year.

Refugee Council – Philanthropy Manager
Location: Stratford, London (hybrid of home working and 1-2 days per week in Stratford Office)

Refugee Council is seeking an experienced philanthropy specialist to develop and grow the Refugee Council’s Philanthropy relationships and programme and deliver an ambitious Philanthropy strategy.

Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK.  Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment.  Evidence from services is then used to also inform the charity’s leading policy and influencing work, including campaigning for a fairer and kinder refugee protection system.  The charity works with more than 14,000 men, women and children every year.

As a result of growing need and increasing interest in Refugee Council’s work, the charity has ambitious plans to make a leap in impact, with investment in their Philanthropy Team to raise increased funds from key high value audiences.

This role will be a critical part of the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team and presents an exciting opportunity to grow Refugee Council’s established Philanthropy programme. As Business Administration & Finance Officer (BAFO) you will be responsible for the smooth running of the administration of the charity. Working closely with the finance team, HR team, regional managers and the senior management team and the post holder will have communication with all members of Envision employees. The aim of the role is to standardise our back-office processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency including Finance, HR & IT as well as event and travel management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administrative support for all Envision delivery staff including event space hiring, sending out contracts to our partners and inputting information into our customer relationship management (CRM) software, Salesforce.
• Financial transactions including bookkeeping, raising sales invoices and processing purchase invoices, administration related to organisation purchasing cards.
• Processing travel bookings and hotel bookings for the organisation.
• Submitting gift aid claims to HMRC.
• HR transactional administration including recruitment, maintaining employee records, etc.
• Maintain IT inventory and submitting IT queries to our external IT provider.

World Obesity Federation (WOF) is a worldwide federation with over 100 members and takes a holistic view of obesity from cause and preventation to treatment. WOF is a lead partner to global agencies on obesity, including WHO, and a member of  the Global Obesity Coalition.

The position will provide stratagic and operational oversight to WOF programs and overall workplan, working alongside colleagues leading on advocacy/convening, training/capacity building. data and evidence, and finance and communications.The position will help shape and provide operational alignment across and deliver on the new three year workplan.

The position is part of the senior leadership and will have 2 direct reports and operate on a matrix structure.

We are looking to appoint an inspiring, motivated and resourceful leader to spearhead the work of Linking Lives UK as we continue to develop our crucial role in addressing loneliness and social isolation among older people across the UK. This exciting position comes at a key stage in our development as a charity as we develop new initiatives and consider future strategy and direction.

Independent Age is the national charity focused on improving the lives of people facing financial hardship in later life. We believe no one should face financial hardship in later life. Our Helpline and expert advisers offer free, practical support to older people without enough money to live on. Through our grants programme, we support hundreds of local organisations working with older people across the UK. 

We use the knowledge and insight gained from our support services and partnerships to highlight the issues experienced by older people in poverty and campaign for change. We would love to find individuals from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds to join us on this journey.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

The Media Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing Independent Age’s media communications programme, including media and PR, social media, celebrities and stories. They will lead the team to secure profile-raising coverage for our work in a range of print, online and broadcast media outlets including national news, consumer, sector-specific, and regional titles, oversee our organic social media and ensure our channels amplify our work and reach older people, decision makers and other influential stakeholders.

The Media Communications Manager will build excellent relationships with older people with lived experience of poverty, ensuring the voices of older people in financial hardship are at the centre of everything we do. They will also grow the organisations relationships with journalists, channel owners, celebrities, ambassadors, and other influencers to ensure that our media communications activity supports our organisational objective to tackle poverty in later life.    

You should have broad experience of developing and implementing innovative, successful profile-raising plans (across digital and traditional channels).  You will bring an ability to work both proactively and reactively, and experience of handling reputational or crisis issues. You should also have a passion for, and affinity with, the charity’s cause.
