Job Title: Payroll and Pensions Administrator
Location: Islington, London, (Around a 10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station) Hybrid working with 2 days a week in the office and service visits regularly across London, Brighton, Luton, Bedford, Kent, and Liverpool. Once a month, the full People and Culture team have a collaborative office day on a Monday.
Salary: £27,007.50
Shift Pattern: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00, with some flexibility around these hours as required.
About the role
Our People and Culture team are hiring a Payroll and Pensions Administrator to join the team to support with ensuring our staff are paid efficiently, accurately, and on time. You will play a pivotal part of the team to support with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll for all, coordinating effective and efficient end-to-end payroll and pensions administration, plus any additional relevant activities. You will utilise the tools and resources available to ensure we meet the needs of all our stakeholders and comply with legal matters. The role will further include:
- Taking ownership of administrative tasks in the payroll and pensions process, being the point of contact for enquiries in this area.
- Supporting the administrative process of payroll and pensions, including with the database/system, ensure that any problems are identified with the relevant departments for effective resolution.
- Ensure Full Payment Submissions (FPS) within tight deadlines and process for all adaptations are carried out in a timely manner.
- Support relevant colleagues to ensure the correct payments, reports, and returns are made to HMRC, pension providers, and other bodies.
- Work in collaboration with functions within the organisation to ensure consistency of information and process.
- Ensure all data and reporting is updated in a timely manner across the relevant databases on a regular basis and fit the needs of the business.
In this role, you will report to the Payroll and Pensions Manager, working alongside the wider People and Culture team which includes the Generalist team, Talent Acquisition team, Workforce Development, and Talent Development team. As a team, we all have our strengths and individual qualities and interests, we support each other wherever possible and have a collaborative working culture. Once a month, we meet as a team and come together for a fun activity and collaborative working.
About you
We are looking for someone who is methodical and intuitive, with a detail oriented outlook to tasks, with the ability to take ownership of projects and workflows, using your skills, knowledge and materials to provide an excellent service. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast paced environment, able to work with conflicting priorities, whilst maintaining a high level professional service. - Experience in a similar role, taking on similar responsibilities in payroll capacity
- Experience in providing a high level of quality administration and customer support (internal or external customers)
- Knowledge and experience using a payroll systems is desirable
- Good understanding of HMRC requirements, including Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), statutory maternity and paternity pay
- Experience of providing a high level of numerical administration and communications, commensurate to the level of the role
- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, competent knowledge in Microsoft, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability and willingness to attend regular visits to our different service locations
- Working knowledge and understanding of payroll, pensions and other relevant laws and external policies commensurate to the level of the role.

About the role:
This role is based in London with hybrid working.
As an DRIVE Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.

Job Purpose
To provide confidential, accessible, and high-quality counselling support to students aged 16–18 and apprentices at Ada, the National College for Digital Skills. The counsellor will play a key role in promoting emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive mental health to enable students to thrive academically, socially, and personally. The role supports the college’s mission to empower a diverse generation of digital pioneers by removing emotional barriers to learning and contributing to a safe and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Direct Student Support
- Provide one-to-one counselling sessions to students and apprentices, including those experiencing mental health challenges, emotional distress, trauma, and/or personal issues.
- Deliver short-term, goal-focused therapeutic interventions based on students’ needs and referral pathways.
- Maintain appropriate and confidential records in line with safeguarding and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR). Using the College’s CPOMS systems to record sessions.
2. Collaboration and Safeguarding
- Work closely with the Safeguarding and Wellbeing team, including the Designated Safeguarding Lead, to assess risk and provide timely interventions.
- Attend and contribute to safeguarding meetings, case conferences, and strategy discussions where appropriate.
- Make referrals to external mental health and support services when specialist or long-term intervention is required.
- Be a visible and approachable member of the learner services team, building trusted relationships with staff and students.
3. Promotion of Wellbeing
- Support the delivery of a proactive mental health strategy that reduces stigma and encourages help-seeking behaviours.
- Facilitate a weekly well – being sessions with the safeguarding team.
- Contribute to college-wide initiatives, workshops, and campaigns that promote positive mental health, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
- Help create a psychologically safe, inclusive space for under-represented and neurodiverse learners.
4. Professional Practice
- Adhere to ethical guidelines set by a recognised professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP) and uphold standards of best practice.

Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified counsellor or psychotherapist (minimum Level 4 diploma or equivalent).
- Registered member of a professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, NCS).
- Experience of working with young people (16–18) and/or apprentices in an education or youth setting.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to student welfare.
- Ability to manage sensitive issues with professionalism, discretion, and cultural awareness.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a further education or sixth-form environment.
- Familiarity with digital safeguarding risks and challenges faced by digitally engaged young people.
- Understanding of intersectional mental health needs (e.g., LGBTQ+, neurodiverse, BAME students).
Other Requirements:
- Ability to represent Ada at external events when required.

About the role:
This is a home based role that will include travel across England and Wales when delivering training. You will be working within a specific project that delivers learning externally to other organisations outside of VS. Your primary goal will be to design and deliver high quality learning interventions based on what our customers need.
As an External Trainer you will:
- Manage, coordinate and deliver professional, engaging and interactive training sessions to external clients using a range of facilitation methods, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed training objectives, materials and quality standards.
- Lead on the design and development of bespoke learning content to meet client needs and support strategic goals.
- Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, developing and maintaining close relationships with external clients.
- Responsible for managing delegates, dealing with any issues that arise throughout the learning session. Ensure that all nationally directed learning is delivered in line with the approved materials and standards.
- Lead on the continuous improvement of training, using assessments and feedback to make recommendations for amendments. Review and update training content regularly to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
You will need:
- Experience of delivering training programmes using a variety of different methods e.g. face to face, virtual and one to one, managing delegates and issues that may arise
- Experience of designing and delivering training for adult learners, ideally within a commercial or client-facing environment
- Experience of delivering soft skills training and experiential learning activities
- Ability to develop a range of learning and development solutions that meet client priorities
- Experience of planning courses and evaluating outcomes
- A driving licence as this role does require frequent travel across England and Wales

We are looking for a confident, compassionate and organised practitioner to deliver focused family support with a strong focus on early learning. This role combines practical support for families with children and delivery of child development interventions such as Making it REAL and Big Hopes Big Futures. You will also help build volunteer capacity, from supporting volunteers with resource bags to contributing to outreach, engagement and group work, depending on your experience.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Direct Support to Families
- Hold a small caseload of families with children delivering up to 2 hours of support per week on a short-term basis.
- Conduct home and community visits to support early childhood development, build resilience and improve family wellbeing.
- Work in a strength based and relationship building way, helping parents recognise and build on what they are already doing well.
- Deliver structured early learning interventions including Making it REAL and Big Hopes Big Futures.

Volunteer Development.
- Act as the first point of contact for child development resources, ensuring they are maintained and distributed to volunteers when needed.
- Offer shadowing opportunities and depending on your experience, support small group learning or supervision. Help to provide ongoing guidance and encouragement to help volunteers build confidence and skills.
Planning, Events & Outreach
- Work with the Lead Family Support Coordinators to deliver early learning events and community-based outreach.
- Help raise awareness of Home-Start Southwark services through local outreach and networking to increase referrals of families and volunteer recruitment.
- Develop good working relationships with a range of referrers and other professionals including health, education and social care.
Monitoring, Recording & Partnership Working
- Carry out initial assessments, reviews and end visits with families.
- Liaise with referrers and other professionals.
- Make referrals to other organisations.
- Record all work accurately and in a timely manner using the CharityLog (our internal system for which training will be provided).
- Contribute to impact reporting by preparing case studies and success stories.

The Jewish Museum London has undergone substantial positive change over the past two years, moving out of our Camden site and moving to a ‘Museum without Walls’ model. All Support Coaches are given the opportunity to go through the coaching accreditation process with ICF to become an Associate Certified Coach (ACC). Kids Matter provides the support and supervision for this to take place, and will cover the cost of the accreditation if the individual remains employed as a Support Coach for the two years following applying for accreditation. If the individual leaves before two years, a percentage of the accreditation cost will be required to pay back.
