What you will be doing

You will be our go-to person for:

• Community fundraising - inspiring schools, local groups, and communities to get behind our cause through events, creative campaigns and appeals.
• Corporate partnerships - building meaningful relationships with businesses, securing sponsorships, employee fundraising, and sharing our life-saving work!

Day-to-day, that might include:

• Reaching out to potential partners and supporters.
• Meeting with local businesses, schools and communities.
• Helping a school plan their first charity day.
• Preparing a proposal for a corporate partner.
• Celebrating the amazing things our supporters achieve.

We are looking for an experienced Campaigns Manager, who is passionate about driving change and has knowledge and experience of Communications and managing staff. This is a temporary post, whilst we go out to recruitment for a permanent post, during the busiest time of the year for White Ribbon.

Job Purpose:

To work alongside the Legacy Marketing Manager to help deliver MFS UK’s Legacy Fundraising strategy and support the efficient administration of one of the charity’s largest income streams.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, this role is focused on ensuring an effective and organised Legacy Administration for the organisation.

To support the strategy to increase income, this role will be liaising with donors who are interested in leaving gifts in their wills and assist with the recruitment of new supporters. This role plays a fundamental part of our Legacy Stewardship and Retention programme for those who have already committed to leaving a gift in their will.

The Role – Individual Giving Assistant Manager

The Fundraising Department of Chester Zoo, a major wildlife charity, with a mission of Preventing Extinction works to secure income which contributes towards the delivery of our strategic development plan and ambitious conservation plan, helping to ensure nature can survive and thrive.

Reporting to the Fundraising & Philanthropy Lead and working with the wider Fundraising team, the Individual Giving Assistant Manager will lead on securing and managing small to medium donations from individuals. This includes our newly created Patron Scheme, multiple fundraising campaigns and all challenge events for the zoo (including Run for Nature).

We are looking for a proactive and conscientious individual who will take a data led approach to raise money in effective and creative ways, working with our Senior Marketing Manager and Senior Data and Insights Manager to identify patterns and drive donations through individual giving. They will also manage and drive revenue through onsite giving mechanisms including in-memory, naming opportunities and point of sale giving – all whilst helping to strengthen our supporter base and foster their long-term relationships with the zoo.

They will work across the organisation to support our team of conservationists and scientists at Chester Zoo to engage, train and support targets within our strategically important field, education and science led projects.

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Fundraising Strategy: Help to develop and implement new plans to continue to grow our Individual Giving income led by the Fundraising & Philanthropy Lead
• Prospect Development: Work with our Senior Marketing Manager and Senior Data and Insights Manager to identify patterns in giving using data from our CRM and drive donations through appeals and public campaigns across the organisation
• Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Develop an annual programme of stewardship and contact opportunities
• Campaigns: Develop and deliver engaging campaigns across multiple channels (direct mail, digital, email, on-site) aiming to grow a sustainable donor base. Monitoring and reporting on campaign performance using data to optimise and drive continuous improvement and donor retention

• Experience of using a database to manage and track donor gifts, relationships and pipeline

As administrator and Clerk, you will be responsible for providing secretarial, clerical and administrative support to the Gospel Oak Youth Action Link Youth Club (GOALYC) board, including diary management and responding to letters and emails. The Project Officer role is suitable for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to build on their existing skills, overseeing all stages of river and catchment enhancement projects; from conception to development, design and physical implementation. You can have practical impact and influence on the natural environment creating sustainable and healthy rivers for the future.

The role of a Project Officer

Whilst this role will predominantly be in the East of the region, you will need to be prepared to work all over the South East should the need arise. River enhancement projects will typically include weir removals, fish passage easements (such as rock ramps, nature-like bypasses or technical fish passes) and river re-naturalisation projects (such as habitat enhancements, reconnecting floodplains & palaeochannels, re-meandering, and backwater creation). Catchment management projects are likely to include wetland creation, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Natural Flood Management (NFM) measures. We would be interested to know about any experience you have in the above fields when you apply.

Using your freshwater expertise and proven ability, you will proactively lead on smaller and medium scale projects while working closely with other staff, external partners and stakeholders. You will work with the rest of the team, drawing on the experience of more seasoned staff to help your personal career progression and likewise overseeing Assistant Project Officer and imparting your knowledge onto them. Most importantly of all, you will support the whole team, your line manager and the wider organisation.

For this role we are looking for someone who is:

• Able to put their understanding of freshwater aquatic ecosystems to use by designing, overseeing and delivering projects in this environment.
• Able to work across the catchment to support the development and funding of projects.

About the role:

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Drive Data Team Manager and Senior Managers within the Drive Partnership to ensure data and reporting remains rigorous and robust, and informs recommendations across the Drive Programme and partners. You will do this by taking a lead role on the ongoing data collection, analysis, research design and delivery of our work across the Drive Programme workstreams.  The Senior Data Analyst will also act as a liaison between data teams within Respect and Safelives where there is identified workstreams that cross over. 

The Senior Data Analyst will manage the Drive Data Analysts to ensure high quality data collection, reporting, quality assurance, analysis, and maintenance of Drive programme data, including data collected via the projects Case Management Systems you will use data and information to influence policy and inform practitioners, commissioners, and government about the sector. This is a great opportunity to see our data and research inform and improve the response to domestic abuse. 

About you: 

• Experience of analysing and drawing meaning from large quantitative data sets, including the advanced use of Excel 
• Experience of developing and managing Case Management Systems and the reporting from the system 
• Excellent analysis skills with a strong ability to identify key themes in complex material, test interpretation and ensure that messages are relevant to practice and policy contexts
• Experience of effective line management of people with a diverse range of needs, expertise, backgrounds, and communication styles
• Confident communicating clear practice and policy implications from data and evidence and presenting them in a range of formats to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
