As a Residential Support Worker, you will work under the supervision and guidance of the Care Management Team, Senior Residential Support Workers, and Therapy Teams. You will support learners in all residential houses and the community, assisting with social and academic activities.

Our aim is to ensure all learners have equal opportunities to develop their independence and social skills, preparing them for adult life.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting learners with self-care and independence skills such as eating, drinking, washing, bathing, using the toilet, managing incontinence, dressing, mobility, and medication administration.
   
• Ensuring learners' care files are kept up to date and accurate.
   
• At the start of each shift, reviewing communication and log books, and liaising with staff at handover to ensure learners' needs are well documented and addressed.
   
• Establish supportive relationships with learners and encourage the development of stable relationships.
   
• Promote the emotional health and self-esteem of learners and support them through changes in their living situation and personal circumstances.

• Accompanying learners into the community to take part in social and recreational activities such as bowling, cinema trips, and dining out, helping them build confidence and enjoy meaningful experiences beyond the college setting.

About the role

We’re looking for a Substance Misuse Worker with experience in mental health and substance use to join our Catford team. Based in a 24 hour residential service, you’ll support adults with severe and enduring mental health needs through rehabilitation and recovery focused support, using your specialist knowledge to help residents and the team overcome personal challenges.

You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will be a specialist in comorbidity, supporting the team to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. Some of your duties will include:

• Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
• Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.
• Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
• Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning. 

About you

We are looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with experience in interventions, and in a similar role. Qualifications are desirable if paired with practical experience which is relevant to this role. We look at individual characteristics with the ability to engage with various people who may not want to receive the support, able to build trusting professional relationships, and able to demonstrate resilience, solve challenges, and be proactive. We are looking to recruit a life skills and activities co-ordinator to concentrate on building and expanding relationships with young people living in our supported accommodation as well as families in Westminster who attend sessions in our Family Services department. This is a unique and rewarding role in our Employment & Learning Team that will involve meeting and working with residents in our supported accommodation on a one-to-one basis and in groups, facilitating activities and evaluating and building evidence that these interventions have made a difference. Your work will focus on supporting our residents (aged 16-25) on-site with their Life Skills development. You will also work holistically to support the families who attend sessions in the Family Centre and who attend outings and “away-days”. The role also requires facilitating our study club (aged 13+) and group ESOL sessions (19+).

Barnardo's is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to join our Fundraising & Marketing Directorate as Interim Head of Individual Giving. This is a pivotal senior management role, responsible for leading a team delivering a supporter and data focused fundraising programme, inspiring the public to donate, do more and build loyalty through authentic and compelling communications aligned to Barnardo's strategy. It is a critical income stream—raising over £13 million annually.

About the Role 

As Head of Individual Giving, you will lead a high-performing team of fundraising specialists across regular giving, cash, raffle, lottery, and legacy marketing. You will support in the development of the long term growth plan, work in inter disciplinary teams on campaign development and delivery supporting your team in this new way of working and be responsible for executing the plan so that it drives growth in acquisition, retention, and lifetime value of supporters. 

You will play a key role in the Fundraising & Marketing Leadership Team, contributing to the development of the charity's overarching fundraising & marketing strategic plan and embedding a culture that strives for excellence, focuses on continual improvement, and delivers in collaboration with others. 

This is a role for a experience professional who can translate insight into action, lead complex programmes with agility, and inspire teams to deliver outstanding results. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Strategic Leadership: Support the development of a Fundraising & Marketing growth plan and deliver a multi-year Individual Giving programme that supports sustainable income growth and deepens supporter engagement. 

• Programme Oversight: Lead the planning, delivery, and optimisation of multi-channel fundraising campaigns, ensuring they are data-driven, audience-centric, and aligned with Barnardo's brand values. 

• Financial Stewardship: Manage a multi-million-pound income and expenditure budget, with responsibility for forecasting, contingency planning, and risk mitigation. 

• Cross-Organisational Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Digital, Brand & Marketing, Supporter Care, Services and Compliance, Supporter Data & Insight, Communications and Children's Services to deliver integrated campaigns and a seamless supporter experience. 

• Insight led continual improvement: Embed a culture of test-and-learn, using market intelligence, segmentation, and performance data to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement. 

• Leadership & People Development: Lead and develop a large team of direct and indirect reports, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional growth. 

About You 

You are a senior fundraising professional with: 

• A proven track record in strategic planning and delivery within a large, complex organisation. 

• Extensive experience in direct marketing and individual giving, with demonstrable success in income growth and supporter engagement. 

• Strong financial acumen and experience managing substantial budgets. 

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. 

• A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence at all levels. 

• A commitment to Barnardo's values and a passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young people.

You will be instrumental in the quality and impactful implementation, delivery and retention of our sites. You will oversee the delivery of exceptional outcomes in support of the charity's mission. You will work as part of a Regional/Country team to deliver outstanding programmes across your geography, establishing and leading partnerships throughout the life of a programme.    

Regular travel throughout your geographical location will be required, with occasional travel to other areas of the UK, NI and Iberia.  Please stipulate which role you are applying for (North of England or Nationwide).

Engagement Coordinator 

Brighton and Hove Speak Out is a dynamic local advocacy charity. We support people with learning disabilities to have a voice and choice and control over their lives through providing a range of advocacy services and community projects.    

We are seeking to appoint a part time Advocacy and Engagement Coordinator to deliver a programme of engagement and consultation activity. The post holder will support people with learning disabilities to have their say about local services, share their experience about how support and services impact on their lives and make recommendaitions for improvements.

The role involves organising outreach and consultation on different issues. The post holder will support a group of self-advocates (the Link Group) to take part in planning, running and reporting to the Learning Disability Partnership Board.  

The Post Holder will also support health advocacy, training and awareness raising at Speak Out. They will support the ‘Thumbs Up' campaign led by a group of Speak Out members.

About you

The successful candidate will need excellent communication and organisational skills, including report writing, and will be able to manage a complex workload. Experience of advocacy and/or group work with vulnerable clients is essential. Knowledge of learning disability services and experience of working with people with learning disabilities is an advantage.

Are you interested in meeting people and building relationships with supporters?   As a Community and Events Fundraiser for MyVision Oxfordshire, you will play an integral part of the fundraising team, leading on our work with supporters in the community and supporting the team to fulfil its income targets.

MyVision Oxfordshire is a long-established charity supporting anyone in the county living with sight loss.  We provide a range of services across Oxfordshire including information and advice, equipment provision, technology training, befriending, clubs and groups, children's events and much more.

This is a key role to develop and implement strategies to raise funds through community engagement and events. You will work with our fundraising team to identify opportunities, build relationships, and execute fundraising initiatives that support MyVision Oxfordshire’s objective of supporting visually impaired people in the county.
