About the Bristol Men’s Crisis House
The Bristol Men’s Crisis House is a warm and supportive 10-bed home based at Bradford Lodge in Avonmouth. We’re here for men who have recently been through a mental health crisis—whether they’ve just left hospital or are finding it difficult to stay safe where they currently live. Our house offers a calm, safe environment where residents can take time to stabilise and focus on their wellbeing. We provide therapeutic support to help each person feel ready and confident to return home. Stays are usually up to 10 days, although men who are of no fixed abode (NFA) may stay a little longer if needed.
- We’re a non-CQC registered service.
- Our team is here day and night, 24/7, every day of the year.
- The service is run by Rethink Mental Illness, working closely with AWP, who handle all referrals through their Crisis Teams.
How you will make a difference:
Staffing, Leadership & Oversight
· I will ensure that staff have the correct guidance and support to fulfil their roles and will ensure that a monthly 24/7 rota ensures enough staffing capacity to deliver effective support.
Quality of Support & Environment
· I will ensure that a high standard of support is embedded within the service and will promote and support an inclusive environment.
· I will ensure that high quality support planning, risk management, outcomes measurements are in place for all residents in the service at all times.
Referrals & Risk Management
· I will review all referrals into the service and ensure these are appropriate for the service remit and that risks are manageable during the residents stay. I will ensure that all referral documentation is received.
Partnership & Multi-Agency Working
· I will work closely with AWP Crisis Teams and ensure highly effective working relationships are in place at a management and front line level to ensure the crisis house provides the right standard of support to residents using a multi-agency approach.
Activities & Resident Engagement
· I will ensure activities offered to residents in the house and externally are varied and meet residents needs and demand and are within agreed budgets.
Incident Management & Learning
· I will manage and review all incidents and severe untoward incidents that occur at the crisis house ensuring that learning is adopted and shared as needed with AWP and the commissioners. I will support joint investigations with AWP where relevant following the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
Essential skills and experience required:
· Recognised housing related qualification or equivalent relevant housing experience
· Experience in a comparable role of management, preferably in housing, social services, residential care or supported housing.
· Experience and knowledge of enhanced housing benefit, housing management, related legislation, letting procedures and Local Authority guidelines
· Ability to identify support goals and evaluate progress.
· Knowledge of risk assessments and ability to identify potential risks and how to manage risks.
· Understanding of housing management, law, policy and best practice
· Ability to motivate people and achieve positive outcomes
· Ability to communicate effectively at different levels
· Knowledge of housing needs / barriers faced by people who experience mental ill health.
· Excellent communication and literacy skills, able to produce clear, concise reports, correspondence and notes
· Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft applications, email and internet.

About the Role
We're looking for a compassionate and driven Service Manager to join our residential service based in Havering. This role supports residents in temporary housing who are facing challenges with substance use. As a Service Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team, making sure we deliver high quality support, performance and improvements across our service whilst representing values of the organisation. You'll play a hands on role in supporting individuals facing addiction, homelessness, and complex needs guiding them towards stability, independence, and brighter futures.
The service focuses on providing a 24 hour, 25 bed accommodation service to residents who are deemed to be high risk. They support those who are experiencing homelessness. All admissions are jointly agreed, and placements reviewed at a weekly Complex Needs Panel chaired by the local authority. Residents are agreed on the basis that they are:
The role includes:
- Overseeing support related to substance misuse, ensuring effective interventions and pathways for service users
- Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
- Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service
- Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed
- Property and Housing Management, ensuring the accommodation meets our requirements, and repairs and maintenance are regularly reported and completed

About You
We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated colleague to lead this service in a trauma informed and inclusive way. Someone who is knowledgeable in the needs of our residents, particularly substance misuse and can support the team in delivering excellence. You will be driven with passion for what we do, and be able to work flexibly to meet service needs, providing new ideas and opportunities to develop the service further to continue to achieve excellence!
- Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with substance abuse issues, addiction, exploitation, homelessness and within the criminal justice system
- Previous leadership experience
- Experience of working with confidently and ability to provide advice, lead a team on all aspects of the service such as resident related enquiries which can include housing, substance abuse support, signposting
- Ability to motivate and empower a team to achieve service KPI's through direct leadership

- IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software

What does this role do?
As Head of Estates, Facilities and Safety, you will:
- develop and deliver a long-term commercial property strategy, working with colleagues responsible for centres and shops.

About the role
As a Maintenance Surveyor, you’ll deliver repairs and voids maintenance services for up to 800 properties across your region, collaborating with our teams and contractors to provide our customers with high-quality, timely repairs. Your proactive approach and commitment to excellence will inspire others and make sure our property services are constantly improving.
The role is a mixture of site visits and desk-based work. You'll visit customer homes to understand their repairs needs, using your expert knowledge of the make-up of domestic buildings, HHSRS and schedule of rates to qualify repairs. You'll raise the repairs on our bespoke Housing Management System and update the customer account through to the completion of the works. You'll also uphold our Empty Homes (Voids) standard to deliver first-class quality homes in a timely manner.
In line with Awaab’s Law, you’ll play a key role in identifying and addressing hazards such as damp and mould promptly and effectively, ensuring that health-related repairs are not delayed. Your understanding of housing disrepair will be essential in ensuring compliance, protecting customer wellbeing, and reducing risk.
Through your collaboration with contractors, housing teams, and internal colleagues, you'll help improve service efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and contribute to Accent’s mission of providing quality homes and services.
About you
You should have a HNC in Building (or an equivalent qualification) or experience in maintenance and construction, an understanding of building design, building fabrics and associated lifecycles, plus a strong understanding of contract performance and budget management. You’ll have a strong customer focus, great communication skills, an ability to interpret building legislation and use operational software for property management. As you’ll be travelling around our different sites, you’ll also need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

The Facilities Manager will ensure a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment across Charleston’s two sites at Firle and in central Lewes. The postholder will oversee the day-to-day facilities operations of both sites, including security, building maintenance and health & safety procedures.This role requires the post holder to carry out physically demanding tasks such as moving furniture and other manual handling.
Duties and responsibilities
Operations and facilities
- Responsibility for the management of Charleston’s buildings and facilities.
- Coordinate and oversee cleaning, maintenance, utilities, and supplies, ensuring smooth, cost-effective operations.
- Manage supplier and contracts relationships including waste management, building maintenance, cleaning and security; review chosen suppliers against Charleston’s criteria including value for money.
- Act as the main contact for tenants and ensure efficient resolution of queries.

Purpose
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual ensuring that all of Ella’s premises, including the office, community hub, and safe houses, are safe, compliant, well-maintained, and a welcoming environment for staff and service users. This role combines practical facilities work with proactive oversight of supplier management and property maintenance systems.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Office Manager will be a key member of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group. This is a broad role working with a wide range of staff and contacts within and outside the group. The postholder will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring that our office space and facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and secure environment. They will have overall ownership of the office with regards to the day to day running and ensuring health and safety compliance, and with the support of their team. They will ensure our staff and clients are able to enjoy a safe and comfortable environment. They will be the main point of contact for I.T, Facilities and clients services across the group.
They will act as Site Safety Officer for the premises ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Procedures, as directed by the CEO.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Management:
· Act as site manager ensuring that the office is in a state of operational readiness. This will include procuring and organising premises maintenance , cleaning services, communication systems and other support services as required to meet local needs.
· Responsible for local premises security and liaison with fire and police services and local alarm providers
· Managing local contractors, landlords, suppliers, and other agencies as necessary; identifying improvements and ensuring best value in procurement.
· Working effectively with the landlord’s facilities team in relation to building related issues and for any building repair and maintenance issues.
· Ensure that office equipment is operating effectively and efficiently and maintain a sufficient level of office furniture, resources, supplies and stationery

Office Management and IT:

· Oversee the health and safety responsibilities within the office premises, staying updated on changes in health and safety legislation.
· Review and maintain documentation of risk assessments, health and safety checks and fire evacuation plans.
· Ensure the office has on site first aid provision, designated trained first aiders and fire warden/s
· Organise the delivery of relevant H&S training such as first aid and fire marshal training

The Team Manager is responsible for the operational running and strategic direction of the refuge. Providing line management and leadership to the staff team, leading on contract and compliance and the safety, security and maintenance of the refuge, ensuring that the building aligns with our PIPE (Psychologically Informed Physical Environment) building standards and rental income is secured.
The Team Manager plays a central role in ensuring the refuge is a safe, trauma-informed, and welcoming space for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. About the role

Role and Responsibilities
Housing and Service Delivery
• Provide strong and effective support to residents in Acorn House that focuses on their strengths and goals, and is delivered in a personalised way and within a framework of active engagement and co-production
• Developing and reviewing support plans that reflect the interests and aspirations of residents
• Induct new residents in line with the service’s policies and procedures and support them to continue in their journey towards recovery from addiction
• Carry out assessments of those referred to Acorn House, and induct new residents
• Ensure the fundamental needs of residents are met including good quality accommodation and facilities, healthy food, advice and guidance around benefits, and alcohol and drug testing (to help maintain an abstinent environment)
• Deal with the immediate support needs of residents as appropriate, providing crisis intervention where necessary
• Support residents in addressing physical and mental health issues, including liaison with primary and secondary health teams
• Ensure residents are supported through court or welfare rulings (if necessary)
• Ensure effective and compliant administration of resident data using a bespoke Salesforce- based platform (In-Form)
• Ensure Housing Benefit and Services Charges are collected and managed effectively
• Be flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the service, ensuring high quality support is provided
• Ensure each resident’s support plan is written, monitored and reviewed as appropriate to reflect their changing needs and development
• Ensure residents progress and engage with other SCT programmes (when required)
• Ensure conditions and requirements relating to any contracts or management agreements are applied throughout SCT’s services
• Work effectively as part of a team, attending team/ staff meetings and making a positive contribution to the development of the team and wider SCT services
• Effectively control and manage financial records appropriate to the duties of the post (petty cash/rent)
• Participate in a feedback culture for continuous improvement
• Promote social inclusion, supporting residents to access all benefits available to them
• Support residents with physical and mental health issues, including liaison primary and secondary health care services as required
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance needs are raised
Monitoring and Evaluation
• Maintain accurate records of residents on In-Form
Operational Support
• Comply with Health and Safety, including but not limited to any fire maintenance, risk assessments and complete room checks and raise any risks to the Supported Housing Manager
• Ensure equipment of all applicable facilities is in good working order
• To provide an on-call/out-of-hours service when required
• Carry out other duties as may reasonably be required
Special Conditions
• This post requires the holder to work varying shifts between 08.00 am and 8.00 pm and participation in the call rota system (for which an additional allowance is paid)
• The post-holder is required to work weekends as part of a rota and Bank Holidays when required
• On occasions you may be requested to change your rota to ensure the requirements of the service are covered
• In accordance with the guidelines on Health and Safety, to accept responsibility for working within these guidelines and reporting any concerns to the Supported Housing Manager
