About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly skilled and dedicated Compliance, Risk, and Audit team. The team compromises a Director, Head of Service, and 3 experienced officers, with this role completing the team as the 4th officer. Although the team is small in size, they deliver work of significant depth, strategic importance, and exceptional quality across SIG. They play a vital role in supporting SIG's strategic direction through its commitment to high standards of Governance, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, and Continuous Improvement.

• Manage data and analyse trends, creating high quality reports, which are clear and readable
• Facilitate and support organisational complaints processes to ensure adherence to policy, timescale, and best practice

About you

• Previous experience in complaints and incident handling, safeguarding, data protection, and audits
• Previous experience in governance systems and structures which could include auditing, risk management, investigations, and report writing

• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, and ability to confidently use and utilise Microsoft programs

We are looking for a part time Training Standards Officer (21 hours per week) to work in the Learning Directorate at the Royal College of Pathologists. This role is key to support our members by facilitating the maintenance of specialty postgraduate curricula in seven pathology specialties and subspecialties, as well as ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements of the GMC.

This role will project manage the quality assurance processes for training qualifications our members complete as part of their professional development. Your role will be to review and update the curricula for all College qualifications and provide regular reports for both internal and external bodies. We are looking for a strong administrator who can plan and implement a timetable for regular reviews of curricula by committees, ensuring compliance with timelines/deadlines as required.

The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status concerned with all matters relating to the science and practice of pathology. ProVeg UK has a very strong track record in influencing public food through its School Plates programme, which has, to date, swapped over 47m meals from meat-based to plant-based or veggie. We are keen to expand this excellent work to a wider range of stakeholders, including hospitals (a new manager has just been recruited to develop a Hospital Plates pilot), policymakers, the corporate sector and media. 

The Executive Director will be at the forefront of this expansion, while also ensuring the continued success of our existing programmes. The role:

This is a key role within the Executive Leadership team, with accountability for Finance, Procurement and IT at the Globe. The team:

The Finance Department provides timely and accurate financial information to key stakeholders while protecting Shakespeare’s Globe assets and ensures compliance with laws and regulations in relation to financial and taxation matters. Serving as a key partner on topics requiring economic, financial and value for money inputs and expertise, the Finance Department manages Accounting and Financial Reporting, Tax, Banking Relationships, Procurement, Financial Risk Management, Contracts, Management Reporting, and external audit partners

Volunteering for Health is a NHS funded programme to build the capacity and capability of organisations and local health and care systems in England, through the development of volunteering infrastructure. Following a successful bid by Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) as part of a partnership with NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group (UHL Group), NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, and Liverpool City Council we are recruiting for a Volunteering for Health Development Officer to support the partnership in its intention to:

The Volunteering for Health Development Officer will support the development and delivery of coherent and sustainable volunteering infrastructure in Liverpool, particularly to grow the level of health and wellbeing linked volunteering opportunities across Liverpool.

As Senior Finance Officer, you will play a vital role at World Heart Beat, ensuring the effective day-to-day management of finances, financial administration, and bookkeeping, as well as informing future business planning. You will work with key personnel across the team, providing guidance and leadership in relation to budget management and financial information to support funding applications and stewardship. You will also provide excellent reporting to support the Executive and Board.

It is an exciting time for the charity, following the opening of World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens in 2023, our second site for music teaching, which includes a café, concert hall and recording studio. The operation of two sites has increased our activities and overheads, making the Senior Finance Officer role even more crucial. We have also established a CIC through which new earned income streams are channelled. The Senior Finance Officer will have the opportunity to develop and shape financial processes and contribute to forward planning.

We’re looking for a talented science and research communications professional to join our team.

Every year, The Brain Tumour Charity invests 50% of our income on funding research to find a cure for brain tumours. 

Using your science communications experience and expertise, you’ll develop a deep understanding of this research portfolio and support colleagues across the organisation to communicate our research to different audiences.

As the key link between the research and marketing teams, you’ll create communications plans featuring inspiring, scientifically sound stories that engage our warm and cold audiences.

You’ll also be a creative thinker - able to find new ways to tell stories and new outlets to tell them in while conveying the urgent need for scientific progress.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Reporting to and supported by the PR Manager, develop an expert and up-to-date understanding of our research portfolio and grants timelines.
• Through cross-team collaboration, become the key link between the research directorate and external facing teams such as marketing, fundraising and policy.
• Develop strategic research communication plans that feature scientifically sound stories to demonstrate the impact of our work to a range of different audiences.
• Play an integral role in the delivery of a 24/7 press office to raise The Brain Tumour Charity’s profile and maximise our ability to respond to ad-hoc requests from journalists.
• Support spokespeople representing the organisation to build their confidence and ensure they deliver accurate, impactful interviews and quotes
• Ensure the scientific accuracy of internal and external communications around the research portfolio
• Produce engaging, tailored research communications to support stewardship of the community by fundraising, support and policy
• Work with the marketing team to shape The Charity’s research communications to a wide audience including but not limited to social media, webpages and printed materials
• Work with the Stories Officer and PR Manager to identify people whose stories can help demonstrate the impact of our research.
• Work with the internal communications officer and Research Engagement Manager to support charity staff understanding and engagement with The Brain Tumour Charity’s research.
