High Trees are seeking a dynamic and creative Voluntary and Community Sector Support Officer to provide tailored development support to local organisations and manage projects relating to sector support. You will be joining us at an exciting time following the formation of a new Research and Development team which is starting to deliver a new capacity building offer to the local VCS sector, including one-to-one mentoring and the production of high-quality resources based on our experience of working with Lambeth communities for over 25 years. We deliver capacity building support both directly and through our partnership work.
This is a hands-on, practical role and the right candidate will have a wide skillset and interest in continually developing skills in order to perform this role. You will be working on a variety of projects which focus on capacity building and VCS infrastructure support. Your day-to-day work will be varied and over the next 12 months we expect this to include tasks such as supporting local VCS organisations on a one-to-one basis to improve their policies and procedures, managing a local grants programme, creating high quality templates and user guides, and running workshops using the resources we have developed such as our Collaboration and Employment Toolkits. We will be developing and refining our offer to the local VCS sector over the coming year and expect this to lead to further new and exciting pieces of work.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to draw learning from our work and the work of our partnerships, to distil this learning for the benefit of others and to effectively motivate, coach and support others to develop their practice.

About the role
We are looking for a Chief Executive officer who is passionate about the mental health of our communities. They will lead Riverside Counselling Service in defining and delivering its strategy and ensuring it uses its funding and income to provide accessible mental health services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, and experience of working in the mental health sector or allied disciplines. They will also have extensive experience of fundraising and be happy to take a proactive role in this area. They will take an empathic and collaborative approach to leading and managing teams. The candidate will be a self-starter, adept at prioritisation, possess excellent communication and networking skills and combine a strong understanding of the distinctive nature of leading a charity with great management skills.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Planning
· Work closely with the Board of Trustees and the senior leadership team to devise, implement and deliver Riverside’s strategy and business plan
· Identify growth, partnership and development opportunities in line with the needs of communities we serve
· Keep up to date with new developments in the field of mental health and any related government policies, reviewing in line with charitable objectives and strategic direction
Leadership & People Management
· Overall responsibility for day-to-day management of the organisation, ensuring that it is delivering against its vision, mission and strategic objectives, in line with its values
· Lead, empower and inspire the staff and volunteers creating a collaborative, transparent and safe working environment
· Champion and embed a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion across the organisation
Fundraising and Business Development
· Work closely with the Fundraising Manager and Treasurer (Trustee) to develop an annual budget and ensure a funding strategy to delivery sustainability
· Work with the Fundraising Manager in writing persuasive and successful bid proposals and applications to a diverse portfolio of funders
· Work with the Senior Leadership Team to explore and implement new funding streams to support the charity’s work.
Financial Management
· Ensure the financial health of the organisation, monitoring financial position and forecasts against budget and ensuring strong financial governance is in place for
· Work closely with the Treasurer to ensure financial transparency and that the organisation is adhering to regulatory and legal obligations
Operations and Service Delivery
· Oversee all aspects of service delivery including safeguarding, ensuring excellent and ethical delivery of a client-centred service
· Monitor the quality and quantity of services delivered, outcome measures and feedback, reporting on the impact of services
· Ensure that all counsellors are supported in their professional development and client delivery with a clear framework of support and guidance
Partnerships, Engagement & Advocacy
· Develop and manage relationships with key charitable stakeholders, including other community and charitable organisations, counselling networks, grant and funding bodies, commissioners, regulatory and professional bodies, corporate partners and individual donors
· Act as the public face of Riverside Counselling Services and represent the charity across the mental health sector, within professional bodies and within the media
· Keep in touch with the needs of the community and the charity’s service users ensuring that services are developed in line with these priorities.
Governance
· Work closely with the board to ensure they are able to fulfil their governance responsibilities and maintain high standards of governance
· Ensure the charity is meeting its overall purpose within a clear governance framework with associated policies, procedures and best practice guidelines
In addition, the postholder will be required to undertake any other activities appropriate to and commensurate with, their level of responsibility and accountability.

About the role:
FLEX is looking for someone with a passion for improving working conditions in service sectors, such as cleaning. In this role, you will support the development of more sustainable corporate responses through the development of a worker-informed human rights due diligence programme for businesses that contract cleaning services. Drawing on a 2-year pilot where we developed a worker-informed human rights due diligence framework, this work involves a strong worker-engagement element.
Above all this role requires someone with real passion and commitment for FLEX’s work to end labour exploitation and an excitement for ensuring workers are at the centre and actively involved in shaping solutions that work for them. You will be working in a dynamic team developing this programme, so this role will require flexibility and ability to adapt.
Key responsibilities:
Project Delivery
- Planning, delivering and evaluating worker engagement activities, in line with FLEX’s strategy, safeguarding protocols and approach, ensuring the workers views inform all project outputs, including reports.
- Supporting the development, maintenance, and implementation of robust safeguarding protocols for worker engagement.

This is a new role, joining a small but growing Fundraising and Events Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will oversee most fundraising income generation activity.
The Fundraising Officer will build positive relationships to secure significant income and develop new relationships with groups, business and individuals, bringing in regular and targeted income through regular donations, fundraising campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience covering several areas including Individual Giving; Fundraising Appeals/Campaigns as well as experience in managing the operational aspects of fundraising (database, compliance with codes of practice and fundraising regulations, creating fundraising campaigns and ‘asks’). MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising Overview
- Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for The Cinnamon Trust.
- Maximise the contributions and connections with local business and individuals.
- Coordinate all appeals including The Big Walk across all income and media streams.
- Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities such as Payroll Giving, Legacies (with help from The Legacy Officer), in Memory Giving and Online Giving.
Supporter Engagement and Stewardship
- Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to The Trust’s supporters.
- To be responsible for thanking all supporters and managing a supporter engagement journey – ensuring that effective processes are in place and driving levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all fundraising volunteers and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes, in conjunction with other teams.
- Develop and implement Fundraising groups across the UK
Database Management
- To ensure efficient, appropriate data capture and analysis for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.
- Maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed.
- Train other staff members to support general fundraising.
- Ensure all records, fundraising data and fundraising administration is kept up to date and all information is GDPR-compliant.
- Reconcile fundraising income with the Finance Manager, including Gift Aid claims, missed, failed payments and Direct Debit cancellations.
Individual Giving
- Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
- Lead the growth of CT100 monthly giving.
- Work with the Press and PR Manager on fundraising communication and to ensure donors are kept up to date on the difference their support makes.
Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns
- Work alongside teams and PR and Communications Manager to promote The Cinnamon Trust.
- Establish a corporate fundraising strategy with an accompanying narrative, alongside the PR and Communications Manager.
- Tailor campaigns and appeals for different audiences and supporters alongside PR and Communications Manager to target corporates; smaller local businesses and individuals
Staff and Volunteers
- Support with recruiting fundraising volunteers as appropriate.
- Work closely with Head of Operations and PR and Communications Manager to ensure all fundraising is coordinated.
Wider organisational responsibilities
- Read and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Lead on applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies with support from the Head of Operations.
- Undertake responsibilities associated with being a member of The Cinnamon Trust

Using strong creative, communication and interpersonal skills, the Media and Campaigns Officer will play a crucial role in the delivery of our media strategy. They will work closely with the Senior Media and Campaigns Officer and wider Communications and Campaigns teams to ensure the press office runs smoothly and in concert with the organisation’s wider strategy.
This role includes delivering media objectives; managing, supporting and recruiting personal stories and patrons; monitoring and disseminating relevant media coverage; identifying reactive media opportunities; proactively securing media coverage; producing and distributing engaging press materials; and maintaining relationships with key journalists.
The role will also work across the campaign’s sister charity, Compassion in Dying. Both organisations share an aim of improving dying in the UK by putting people in charge of decisions about the end of their life. The charity’s profile and influence has grown hugely in recent years, with its wealth of expertise and thought leadership recognised across the end-of-life and wider healthcare sector.
Working closely with colleagues in the Information Line and Policy & Research teams, key responsibilities will include securing opportunities within the media to amplify the voices of dying people and those close to them; supporting those individuals to share their experiences; keeping abreast of relevant coverage within mainstream media and healthcare trade press; using the media to raise awareness of the importance of and ways to plan ahead for the end of life; and seeking media opportunities to share our research and insight, shift attitudes and push for the changes needed so that everyone can have a good death, whatever that means to them.

About the role
The Community Outreach Officer will deliver on helping the communities susceptible to the far right. As part of the policy team, they will have access to research and policy insights on the issues which are causing tension and divisions in communities and where these tensions are most acute, and use this to devise locally-led solutions in partnership with key figures in the community and relevant sectors.
They will have experience in community organising, whether through employment or voluntary work, and use this experience to develop an organisational strategy for addressing far-right organising and hate-based community tensions. Part of the strategy will include a plan to extend and deepen HOPE not hate’s existing relationships in key areas across the UK. It will also involve designing and publicising resources, developing and delivering training and writing regular briefings.
Willingness to work with a variety of stakeholders is important. The role will include liaising with local authorities, national and local organisations and grassroots community activists to build and facilitate the design of locally-led community resilience strategies. There will also be access to our existing networks and relationships across relevant sectors e.g. migration and refugee sector, community cohesion and local authorities. An understanding that communities and community groups are the experts on their own needs is crucial – solutions should be developed with, not for, those most impacted.

The Project Officer (Strategic Data and Measurement Analyst) is an important new role at the Diocese, as you will provide a comprehensive understanding of our data sets to afford context and insight to the Deaneries, parishes and the Diocese which will help develop projects and programmes to drive growth in church attendance.
This role would suit someone who is an excellent and inquisitive administrative professional looking to expand into the field of data analysis.
As Project Officer, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of all types of datasets available within the Diocese, including demographic data, attendance records, retention statistics and financial records, whilst identifying and implementing appropriate tools and methodologies for collecting and analysing new data insights.
An integral member of the Strategy Team and reporting to the Strategic Programme Manager, you will lead data analysis work for projects as needed, providing statistical expertise and composing narrative insights for project reports to inform decision making, support funding cases and investment requests.
Acting as a point of contact between the project office and other stakeholders, you will provide coordination and support as needed to ensure the smooth implementation of projects. The Head of Advocacy and Policy will be responsible for developing an excellent Advice Service and Retention Team to support and advise students effectively to enable excellent student experience and satisfaction.
This role will lead on the development of effective insights, representation and support initiatives/campaigns for students, across our three campuses at Greenwich, Avery Hill and Medway.
This role will enhance work with the diverse student population of the University of Greenwich and lead a dynamic team to ensure students have consistent and accessible services that contribute to positive student experience.
This role sits within the wider Membership Services department, together with other key areas consisting of; Activities, Sport, Academic Communities, Representation and Democracy, we provide a high-quality service for students, that they can shape, steer and be at the heart of.
This postholder will be part of the GSU Senior Leadership Team and will be expected to contribute to department and organisation wide strategic development.
The post holder will:
- Have expert knowledge in areas of in relation to Advice and Retention and policies and legislation relating to such activity
- Support and develop strong student-led communities and campaigns in areas of: Advice, wellbeing and retention so that members can thrive
- Provide line management support to staff so that the team have up to date, specialist advice skills, knowledge and understanding of University regulations, policies and procedures that may affect the work of the Advice service and oversee engagement across Greenwich’s 3 campuses
- Undertake casework and provide expert advice for the team on all aspects of Advice
- Lead on the project management of wellbeing/health promotion campaigns and initiatives throughout the year, as well as any external bids through bodies such as OfS
- Oversee the Retention and Wellbeing Project work, and other relevant projects with external partners
