About the Role

We are looking for a motivated major gifts fundraiser to join our small fundraising team to contribute to our ambitious goal to raise £20 million across 4 years – our Be the Spark campaign.

You will need to be a collaborative self-starter who wants to make an impact, working at all levels of the organisation to build and develop the relationships that will enable the Ri to succeed. You will be used to identifying, researching and managing a portfolio of major donors or high value clients and comfortable working with donors at the highest levels.

This role is responsible for driving major donor engagement and income by proactively identifying and cultivating new supporters aligned with our mission.

The postholder will work collaboratively across the Ri and fundraising team to build strong relationships, develop innovative and compelling proposals, and deliver exceptional account management and stewardship to existing donors. Key responsibilities include researching, developing and cultivating new prospects, building a strong major gifts pipeline, visiting donors and prospects, and advising colleagues on best practice for stewarding major donors throughout their relationship with the Ri.

Main responsibilities

• Owning and managing a portfolio of major donors, building strong, long-term relationships and serving as their primary point of contact.
• Devising and delivering tailored stewardship journeys for each donor in the portfolio, ensuring personalised engagement
• Securing repeat and increased support
• Proactive identification and researching of new major donor prospects, and building a strong pipeline for cultivation
• Maintaining major donor engagement levels through regular communications and meetings and maintaining CRM records.
• Developing a fledgling giving circle aligned to the Be the Spark campaign.
• Monitoring and managing a budget, reporting to the board and analysing performance against agreed KPIs.
• Supporting and empowering other teams at the Ri to enhance major donor relationships.
• Collaborating with the events teams to ensure that major donors receive an exceptional experience at all Ri events and activities.

About you:

Essential:

• Experience of identifying, researching, pitching to and managing a portfolio of major donors or high value clients and comfortable working with donors at the highest levels.
• Confidence in talking fluently about money in a professional environment and working with donors at the highest levels
• Proven experience of building excellent relationships and networks both internally and externally
• Experience of managing relationships with donors or high value clients
• Demonstrable experience of maximising opportunities from researching prospects to generating meetings, and securing income 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Desirable:

• Substantial demonstrable experience working in a fundraising position for a charity or educational organisation.

About the role

We are the UK’s largest independent non-profit investigative newsroom. Our reporting is published by media partners around the world and holds power to account across five areas: environment, health, big tech, dirty money and local power.

This role will manage 2–3 of our editorial teams, providing strategic fundraising support to help them deliver journalism that drives real-world change. While the exact portfolio will be confirmed with the successful candidate, the role will initially support 2-3 of our core teams and may also contribute to work on emerging issues such as mis- and disinformation and its impact on UK communities.

• Bureau Local: Works with communities across the UK to uncover hidden stories and drive accountability. • Global Health: Examines the systems that shape access to healthcare, the safety and quality of medicines, and the influence of corporate and political interests on global health outcomes. The team has briefed the WHO and medical practitioners, ensuring their findings inform policy and frontline practice.

Our fundraising

The Bureau is almost entirely funded through grants and donations – without our supporters, we couldn’t do what we do. Over recent years, we’ve grown to a team of 35 people with an annual income of £2.8m, backed by a committed network of trusts, foundations, and individuals.

This is an exciting time to join our fundraising team as we build on those strong relationships and explore new ways to diversify our income.

Responsibilities

• Work with project leads to develop their ideas into a strong case for support, translating complex issues into powerful, accessible narratives for funders.

• Manage relationships with existing funders, ensuring timely reporting, effective stewardship and continued support.

• Research and develop a pipeline of new prospects.

• Write compelling proposals and applications to secure new grants.

• Collaborate with our other Fundraising Manager, who leads on the remaining themes, and provide support in those areas when needed.

• Support the Bureau in identifying ways to diversify our income, such as helping to grow our major donor programme.

• Work closely with colleagues across the Bureau - from reporters and impact producers to operations and finance – and play an active part in maintaining a collaborative, supportive workplace culture.

• Pitch in on a range of fundraising tasks, big and small, to keep the Bureau in the best position to deliver its journalism.

• Fundraising track record: 5+ years’ experience raising significant money for charities or non-profits, especially from foundations (HNW experience a bonus).

We are excited to be seeking a talented and motivated individual to join Southampton Hospitals Charity as our legacy and in-memory manager to help shape our legacy development programme and in-memory strategy.

The role will involve leading on the operational delivery of both legacy and in-memory marketing and legacy case management. The postholder will implement donor-centric approaches to legacy and in-memory campaigns and events, case management, and supporter stewardship.

We are looking for an individual who is as passionate about fundraising as the work we do as a Charity to join our team. This role will be key, as we launch our ambitious new strategy to grow our income, reach and impact.

Main responsibilities

Legacies

• Develop and implement a comprehensive legacy strategy, identifying new opportunities, products, and campaigns to increase engagement, consideration, and pledger numbers.
• Work across the Charity to ensure legacies are integrated across relevant channels to reach key audiences.
• Build a portfolio of case studies to showcase how legacy giving has had a transformative impact across our hospitals.
• Build and nurture relationships with legacy pledgers and prospects, organising legacy information and engagement events to position the Charity prominently in legator consideration.
• Responsible for legacy case management and be the main contact for our legacy consultancy partner, ensuring all processes are compliant, efficient, and deliver for the Charity and for its supporters.
• Communicate with empathy and professionalism with executors, solicitors, and beneficiaries’ families, including handling enquiries and confirming receipt of legacy notifications.

In-Memory

• Have responsibility for the efficient use of all in-memory payment platforms, ensuring that they are utilised correctly, report accurately, and are employed as part of a strong stewardship programme.
• Work closely with the hospital engagement team for the promotion of in-memory giving opportunities
• Working with the marketing & campaigns manager, develop and implement relevant campaigns, including within our hospitals, to increase awareness of in-memory giving
• Support the events & community fundraising officer with events organised by families and friends in memory of loved ones, ensuring appropriate stewardship processes are put into place.
• Look for new opportunities for developing in-memory products, developing cases for support and implementation plans to ensure the Charity’s in-memory programme is at the forefront of new practice.
• Work closely with the grants manager to ensure restricted and tribute funds are able to have an impact in the areas donors wish to see.
• Develop and cultivate strong relationships with supporters by offering suitable opportunities to remember someone special.
• Working with the marketing and communications team, source and develop case stories for use across the in-memory programme and charity.

Knowledge and experience

• Proven experience in legacy administration within the charity sector
• Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (ILM) is desirable
• Proven experience in developing and delivering legacy, in-memory, and/or individual giving strategies and campaigns across multiple channels.
• Extensive experience in donor stewardship, fine-tuning supporter journeys, and delivering excellence in supporter care.

We are seeking a Trusts Fundraising Officer to join our ambitious trusts and foundations team, supporting delivery of the trusts fundraising plan and maximising grant income. The successful candidate will contribute to developing compelling proposals to secure funding, provide excellent stewardship of donors to build long term relationships, and research new trust prospects.

Proven experience of successful trusts fundraising is essential, and the candidate will need to be proactive, naturally well organised, with the ability to craft powerful cases for support. An understanding of fundraising from trusts for medical research causes is desirable.

You will support the Head of Trusts Fundraising in maximising income from charitable trusts and foundations to meet and exceed financial targets; identifying new trusts and increasing the number and value of gifts.

Main tasks and Responsibilities

1. To support the Head of Trusts Fundraising in implementing the three-year strategic plan for Trust Fundraising, and in delivering an effective annual plan and budget that will enable Action Medical Research to maximise income from charitable trusts and foundations.

2. To develop and manage excellent relationships with existing and potential donors, particularly small and medium trusts.

3. To liaise with the Research department to identify appropriate projects to present to potential donors and to manage and report on restricted donations for specific medical research projects

4. To regularly research and monitor new target trusts building a strong pipeline of prospects.

5. To develop and write compelling and persuasive proposals to present to prospects and donors.

6. To ensure that trusts that have made restricted donations are kept appropriately informed of progress against the research work which they are funding and, in the longer term, of the impact that their support has achieved.

7. To manage allocated charity partnerships where co-funding medical research, agreeing trusts which may be individually or jointly approached, raising invoices and reporting at agreed intervals.

8. To ensure continuing dialogue with trusts which have the potential to support our work in the future.

9. To ensure that Raisers Edge and the grant link schedule are kept up to date.

10.  To work with Supporter Care to ensure timely notice of donations to enable the Trusts team to give speedy appreciation of support.

11.  To work with colleagues across the charity, and other external stakeholders, to advocate for trust fundraising, identify opportunities and support colleagues in overlapping fundraising objectives.

12.  Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Action Medical Research, the principles governing the funding of research and the projects being funded.

13.  Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the trust marketplace and competitive influences on it.

14.  Keep the Head of Trusts Fundraising fully informed of activities at all times and work closely with the Trusts Fundraising Officer.

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Partnerships Manager. As a skilled relationship-builder, you excel in cultivating partnerships that generate income and drive mutual value whilst contributing to achieving strategic goals. In this dynamic role, you will lead diverse partnerships, playing a pivotal role within our expanding fundraising team.

Collaborating closely with the Director of Partnerships and Global Growth the role leads the development and stewardship of strategic partnerships that deliver meaningful impact. You’ll be responsible for growing our partnership portfolio, delivering impactful campaigns and contributing to the long-term sustainability of the charity. This includes leveraging Race Against Dementia’s strong connections with the Stewart Family, Formula 1, and other world-class partners to create innovative collaborations that enhance visibility, engagement, and fundraising outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as the main liaison for partners, cultivating long-term relationships founded on trust, transparency, and mutual value.
• Maintain and grow partnerships that contribute to Race Against Dementia’s fundraising targets and strategic objectives.
• Collaborate closely with partners to understand their goals, interests, and expectations, crafting customised partnership strategies to effectively address their needs and aspirations.
• Manage and develop each partnership strategy supporting the aim of raising money from businesses as an integral part of the charity’s overall fundraising strategy.
• Develop and maintain a portfolio of new business supporters and secure new income by identifying growth areas and opportunities.
• Ensure that partnership proposals are aligned with partner priorities and funding criteria, effectively communicating the impact and value of our programs and initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of ideas and strategies for growth and impact within the fundraising team.
• Track, analyse and report on fundraising results in the partnership income stream and measure, manage and report performance against agreed metrics.
• Develop and implement joint marketing campaigns with partners to enhance our brand visibility.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create compelling narratives that showcase the impact of Race Against Dementia partnerships, driving awareness and engagement.
• Monitor CSR trends in the media and keep up to date with professional fundraising associations and media regarding fundraising tools and skills development.

The Senior Fundraising & Grants Manager will lead the development and delivery of Bite Back's fundraising strategy with a primary focus on trusts, foundations and institutional grants. You’ll oversee the organisation’s grants pipeline, coordinate funding applications and reports, and ensure excellent standards of funder stewardship and compliance. You’ll also play a role in developing early-stage public fundraising activities to diversify income and support the long-term sustainability of Bite Back’s youth-led mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Fundraising and Grants Manager is accountable for:

Fundraising Strategy & Planning

• Design, deliver and monitor a values-aligned fundraising strategy, with a primary focus on trusts and foundations.

• Set annual income targets, track progress against goals, and report performance to senior leadership and trustees.

• Identify new income opportunities to support Bite Back’s strategic growth and impact.

• Develop and maintain a 12–24 month grant pipeline to forecast income and manage funding cycles.

• Ensure all fundraising activity complies with the Code of Fundraising Practice, GDPR, and Bite Back’s ethical standards.

Grants from Trusts and Foundations

• Lead the processes for securing income from trusts, foundations and institutional funders, from prospect research through to submission, reporting and renewal.

• Research, identify and prioritise funding opportunities aligned with Bite Back’s youth-led mission and programmes. Collaborate with internal teams to conduct due diligence to ensure funding sources are aligned with our values.

• Prepare and submit high-quality, evidence-led, and compelling grant proposals in collaboration with the CEO, Director of Finance & Operations, Monitoring & Evaluation Manager, and programme leads.

• Coordinate grant management and tracking: maintain accurate records of deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.

• Work with the finance team to develop accurate project budgets and ensure financial reporting meets funder expectations and our operational needs.

• Produce and submit clear, engaging progress reports to funders that highlight impact, learning, and youth voices.

• Monitor grant income and expenditure, ensuring compliance and timely claims against restricted funding.

• Work with the Operations and Contracts Manager and the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to develop and improve systems for grant tracking and data integrity within the CRM (Salesforce).

Donor Stewardship and Relationship Management

• Work closely with the CEO to build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential funders, ensuring high-quality engagement and stewardship.

• Coordinate communications, updates, and thank-you processes for donors to encourage repeat and multi-year funding.

• Lead workstreams, working closely with the Brand Manager and leadership team for support, in order to deliver meetings, presentations, and reports to funders.

• Represent Bite Back at relevant events, funder briefings, and networking opportunities.

• Promote a culture of fundraising awareness and collaboration across the organisation.

Fundraising Development

• Work with the Communications and Operations teams to explore and pilot small-scale public fundraising initiatives (e.g. individual giving, online campaigns, web donation tool).

• Work with the CEO and Communications team to develop a new strategy to build a strong and committed donor network of high net worth individuals aligned with Bite Back’s values

• Develop systems, messaging, and supporter journeys that reflect Bite Back’s youth-led identity.

• Explore opportunities for revenue from the public sector.

• Test new public fundraising channels and evaluate their return on investment to inform future strategy.

Other

• Champion Bite Back’s values - Fresh, Resilient, Respectful, Energetic, and Real - in all fundraising work.

• Collaborate with the youth activism, communications, and policy teams to translate programme outcomes into fundable opportunities and compelling narratives.

• Stay informed about trends in the fundraising and grant-making sectors and share learning across the team.

We are looking to recruit a Grants and Foundations Manager to join Caritas Salford’s fundraising team. You will be part of a team that is passionate about tackling poverty and inequality, where your work will have a real and visible impact. Your focus will be on maintaining and growing income from charitable trusts and statutory agencies.

The Grants and Foundations Manager position is ideal for someone with previous experience of income generation and a proven success in securing funding from trusts and grant making bodies. You will work closely with senior and service managers, to research new funding opportunities, building and sustaining strong relationships with new and existing funders. You will prepare grant applications and maintain a comprehensive database of funders, opportunities and grant applications, in addition to managing and evaluating bids to ensure optimal outcomes.

You will be highly organised with excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling and persuasive proposals. Additionally, you will have strong relationship building skills, with the ability to engage and grow income from a wide range of supporters.

A high level of computer literacy and IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM is essential.
