The role works closely with the CEO to develop the fundraising strategy and reporting to the Fundraising Subcommittee.

An experienced and talented Fundraising Manager who can develop and execute an effective fundraising strategy to deliver growth across a wide range of existing and new income streams.

You will have the proven ability to research and develop winning fundraising applications, negotiate sponsorship deals and develop and maintain positive relationships with donors. A natural multi-tasker, you will have the flexibility to manage a varied workload, juggling responsibility for meeting bid deadlines, ensuring delivery of fundraising events, reporting to funders and managing key corporate accounts. With attention to detail and excellent written and verbal presentation, you will also have the negotiation and project management skills to co-ordinate the production of complex bids and budgets.

Fundraising Leadership Structure
Overall leadership, accountability, and ownership of fundraising strategy and outcomes sit with the Chief Executive. The Fundraising Manager provides strategic, operational, and relationship‑driven support within this CEO‑led framework, ensuring delivery of high‑quality fundraising activity, insight, and stewardship.

There when it matters

About the role:

The prospect research and pipeline management role will support high value fundraising across the Corporate, Trust and Community or Regional fundraising teams through prospect research, network mapping, lead qualification, and due diligence checks. This role will also manage the pipeline management process on our CRM ensuring the teams have access to dashboards tracking their donors across the stages of solicitation and be able to provide insight reports into how well we are moving prospects through the pipelines. This role will also be required to develop processes and ensure we are working within data protection and fundraising regulations and that our due diligence is tracked and auditable.

About you:

• Educated to degree level or with equivalent relevant work experience
• Familiarity with prospect research tools and the ability to identify and recommend the best tools to support our work using the budget as cost effectively as possible.
• Thorough working knowledge of GDPR as it relates to major donor fundraising and the Fundraising codes to practise.
• Experience of undertaking due diligence checks on prospective donors and of setting up and implementing policies and processes to ensure and demonstrate adherence to regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build supportive and collaborative relationships with colleagues both across fundraising and the organisation including the ability to chair meetings and present data and insight.
• Experience of working on a variety of requests and ability to manage and prioritise workload whilst being responsive

Essential Criteria
• Previous experience of driving forward process improvements, implementing new processes or systems, and working with colleagues to embed such change.
• Skilled at using a relationship management database (or CRM) to track prospects through the solicitation process, produce dashboards and reports and glean insight from data.
• Experience of delivering prospect research activities to identify and qualify leads for fundraising teams across corporate, trust and major donor income streams.
• Working knowledge of high value income streams and what will support fundraisers in achieving income growth.
• Experience of providing relevant high quality and accurate research profiles with developed research skills and attention to detail
• Proven experience in identifying new high-value funding prospects from the database and other sources including major donors, corporate partners, and trusts.
• Proven ability to be proactive in network mapping securing new prospects or additional opportunities from existing networks e.g. see that a major donor is also a trustee of a grant giving trust or the CEO of a potential corporate partner.

The Trusts and Foundations Manager will lead the development of a new income stream that supports the organisation’s future growth and strategic ambitions. With no current active grants or established project portfolio, the postholder will build the foundations of a strong trusts and foundations programme, developing a robust pipeline, shaping emerging ideas into fundable opportunities, and securing long-term income to enable new services.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, they will help colleagues understand funder expectations, develop compelling cases for support, and build the systems required for sustainable, high-quality grant fundraising. This role is central to diversifying income and ensuring the organisation is well positioned to secure future investment as new projects are developed.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Trusts and Foundations Manager will develop and grow a new trusts and foundations income stream from the ground up. They will build a pipeline of prospective funders, shape emerging ideas into fundable opportunities, and lead on high quality applications that support the organisation’s future projects. Working collaboratively across directorates, they will cultivate strong funder relationships and establish the systems needed for sustainable, long‑term income growth.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Strategy

• Lead the development of a new trusts and foundations income stream, building a sustainable portfolio of prospective, warm, and active funders.
• Create and maintain a structured pipeline that clearly maps cultivation, application, and stewardship stages.
• Establish effective systems, processes, and tools for researching, tracking, and managing all funding opportunities.
• Work with colleagues across the organisation to identify future fundable projects and shape them into compelling propositions.
• Develop annual trusts and foundations workplans and income forecasts aligned to organisational priorities.

Prospecting and Research

• Identify and research new trust, foundation, and statutory funders, prioritising those with the strongest alignment to RLSS UK’s mission and strategic framework.
• Identify creative ways to engage new funders and build early relationships, even before projects are fully developed.
• Stay informed about new trust and foundation funding opportunities and broader sector developments and funder priorities, to strengthen the fundraising strategy.

Bid Writing and Proposal Development

• Develop high quality, persuasive, and tailored funding applications that clearly articulate the need and potential impact.
• Ensure all proposals clearly articulate the need, planned impact, and align with funder requirements and priorities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Education, Commercial Services, Finance and the wider Income Generation and Engagement team to develop credible cases for support, project budgets and clear anticipated impact.
• Identify the most appropriate approach for each funder, including opportunities for multi‑year grants and strategic partnerships.

Relationship Management and Stewardship

• Cultivate strong, positive relationships with funders, ensuring personalised, timely and impact focused stewardship for all supporters.
• Provide excellent donor care, responding promptly to enquiries and ensuring funders feel informed, valued, and connected to RLSS UK’s mission.
• Represent RLSS UK confidently in funder meetings, presentations, and networking events to strengthen long term support.

Reporting and Evaluation

• Monitor and report on trusts and foundations fundraising performance against KPIs and targets, reporting on performance to the Director of Income Generation and Engagement, Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees. 
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the CRM.
• Support the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to ensure future projects can deliver strong, funder‑ready impact reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect evidence of impact and evaluate programme performance.
• Support audit processes related to restricted funding alongside the Finance team.
• Use data-driven insights and KPIs to evaluate and refine strategies for maximum impact and return on investment.

Job Purpose: 

This is a key role within a small but global team collaborating with a range of experts and specialists with in-depth knowledge of both the global Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting Movement and the international development sector. The role is responsible for making a recognisable contribution towards organisational income targets with a specific focus on funders from the Asia region who have the potential to support the work that WAGGGS does on a global level.

There will be a strong focus on securing restricted income in support of a portfolio of global non-formal education programmes across key thematic areas including climate, STEM, online safety, leadership, gender-based violence prevention, and menstrual health & hygiene – all with cross-cutting themes of gender equality and advocacy, and all delivered around the world.  There may also be time spent on seeking and securing funding to support wider organisational projects as necessary, as well as exploring opportunities to secure unrestricted / flexible core funding.

About You:

As our Strategic Partnerships Manager, Asia you will work across a mix of corporate, global trusts & foundations, and institutional funders from across the Asia region, your focus will be on securing new funding partnerships as well as delivering excellent stewardship and management of existing partnerships. You’ll need to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and be comfortable working in a complex and global organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis focusing on the Asia region to identify high value partnership opportunities with corporates, corporate foundations, global trusts & foundations, and institutional donors to build and nurture strategic funder relationships that are aligned to the WAGGGS vision, purpose, and programme offer.
• Build and maintain a robust and qualified pipeline of potential funding partners and opportunities from the Asia region and ensure proactive cultivation through outreach, networking, and targeted communication. 
• Work cross-departmentally to develop and write high-quality and compelling funding proposals and partnership opportunities with a strong case for support, ensuring they are deliverable, measurable, accurately costed, and aligned to WAGGGS strategic priorities.
• Deliver effective stewardship and management of new partnerships (and potentially some existing partnerships). From contracting, partnership reporting, growth and renewal. Build and expand strong relationships with partner contacts at multiple levels, drawing on key WAGGGS senior staff to support when appropriate, and use WAGGGS communications platforms effectively to raise the profile of partnerships. • Oversee prospecting and data and information management that underpins all of the Philanthropy and Partnerships teams activities working closely with external partners and internal stakeholders.

Strategic leadership

• Lead the development and implementation of a multi-year income generation strategy aligned to Alopecia UK priorities.
• Work across the organisation to ensure fundraising activity is fully integrated with operational delivery, partnering closely with the finance, communications and delivery managers to align plans, resources and messaging, and to ensure shared initiatives are realistic, coordinated and achievable.
• Translate insight from your experience and our recent fundraising strategy review into clear, achievable plans.
• Set and monitor ambitious yet realistic income targets across income streams.
• Responsibility for achieving the fundraising targets and other fundraising-related performance indicators.

Income growth & diversification

As a part-time role within a small charity, the postholder will need to carefully prioritise income-generating opportunities alongside stewardship and relationship management. In year one, a key focus will be establishing effective donor pathways through the rollout of our new CRM, ensuring supporters experience clear and meaningful journeys with the charity. Alongside this, the Senior Fundraising Manager will assess and determine which early opportunities for growth should be prioritised. While areas such as community fundraising, digital campaigns and regular giving are likely to offer early potential, the postholder will lead decisions on where to focus effort and investment to generate the strongest returns.

• Leverage and optimise existing community and public fundraising activity to increase income and supporter numbers.
• Develop and grow new revenue streams, to potentially include digital fundraising campaigns, regular giving, trusts and grants, and legacy giving.
• Lead creatively and intellectually on compelling campaigning initiatives that drive engagement and income.
• Provide excellent stewardship to ensure funders and partners feel valued, engaged and motivated to continue their support.
•  Widen our existing corporate partnerships programme by building mutually beneficial partnerships to deliver income, awareness, and engagement opportunities.

CRM

• Support the design and rollout of our first CRM system, working closely with the Finance & Operations Manager to design fit-for-purpose donor journeys and pathways, establish meaningful reporting frameworks and ensure data supports excellent stewardship and strategic decision-making.
• Use CRM data and financial information to track performance, analyse trends and adjust strategy as required.

Data & impact

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including ICO guidance, GDPR and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Work closely with the Finance & Operations Manager to ensure our data meaningfully represents organisational outcomes.
• Translate impact data into powerful, succinct and persuasive communications or compelling cases for support.

Purpose of the Job 

Oversee the planning and delivery of a portfolio of trusts and foundations funders, that maximise income potential and provide relationship management for a number of key accounts, providing impact reports and associated benefits

Devising, implementing and attending a variety of national Stewardship events as and when required and leading and supporting depot visits for potential and existing funders. Develop a range of engaging, innovative and persuasive proposals that capture the ambition and vision of the charity.

Provide continuous reviews of plans and/or funding agreements managed by the trusts and foundations team to ensure appropriate levels of stewardship and undertake research to identify potential funders, both within and outside of the UK and maintaining an effective pipeline designed to undertake detailed prospecting and identification of targets needed to deliver long term income.

Provide development of key relationships with Network partners to provide support and guidance on national funders and identifying new funding opportunities and actively participate in budget setting and quarterly forecasting

The ownership of identified funding for specified projects and create, maintain, and disseminate as appropriate.

The Prospect Researcher plays a key role in supporting high-value fundraising efforts by identifying, analysing, and prioritising potential donors, trusts, and foundations aligned with the Charity’s mission. Through in-depth research and insight generation, the post holder will build a strong, actionable pipeline of prospects, enabling personalised engagement strategies for the Philanthropy Team. Working collaboratively across the Engagement Team, the Prospect Researcher will provide intelligence that shapes cultivation plans, provides insights that supports strategic conversations at events, monitors giving trends, and ensures all prospect activity is data-informed, ethical, and compliant. This role is vital to driving sustainable income growth and deepening the Charity’s reach within the philanthropic community.

Prospect Identification and Research 

• Conduct thorough research to identify and profile potential high-value donors, trusts, and foundations aligned with the charity’s mission and appeal goals.
• Use a range of tools, databases, and resources to gather information on prospects, including their giving capacity, interests, and philanthropic history.
• Prioritise prospects based on their potential value, affinity, and likelihood to engage with the charity.

Intelligence Gathering and Analysis

• Analyse research findings to produce detailed and actionable prospect profiles for use by the Philanthropy Team.
• Provide insights into donor motivations and interests to support personalised cultivation strategies.

Pipeline Management
