About Give Blood 4 Good

We’re a Scottish registered charity dedicated to improving awareness and education around blood donation - especially among young people. By working with schools, universities and community groups, we’re breaking down misconceptions and fear that can be associat4ed with the process, and encouraging people to give blood as soon as they're eligible at 17.

After a successful pilot of our Young Ambassador Programme over the last three years, we’re entering an exciting phase of growth. This role marks a milestone for our charity - and you’ll be at the heart of helping us reach more students and schools across Scotland.

About the role

You’ll lead the expansion of our Young Ambassador Programme — a digital e-learning initiative designed to empower students to become informed, confident blood donation ambassadors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and managing relationships with schools

• Supporting and enrolling students

• Updating and improving programme content

• Coordinating with our e-learning platform provider

• Identifying and applying for funding to sustain and scale the programme

• Working closely with our small, friendly team of volunteers

Your role will also include additional tasks that support the day-to-day running of Give Blood 4 Good.

This is a fully remote role, with flexibility around working hours. You’ll be our only staff member, so we’re looking for someone who’s confident working independently and can take initiative while keeping others informed.

• Strong organisational and time management skills

Your Role in Our Vision

Join our Legacy Administration Team and manage a varied and active caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary bequests. This is a pivotal role, helping to ensure that every gift left to Marie Curie is handled with care, accuracy, and respect — enabling us to continue delivering our essential services.

Legacy income is one of the most significant sources of funding for our charity. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding and maximising that income through diligent case management, effective communication with solicitors and executors, and a firm understanding of probate law and best practice. Your work directly contributes to our ability to care for people affected by terminal illness.

Experience across all UK jurisdictions is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary legacies across the UK.
• Ensure Marie Curie receives its full legal entitlement, in line with Wills and settlements.
• Handle correspondence efficiently, updating records on our FirstClass 4 database and meeting internal service standards.
• Act as the lead charity where appropriate and liaise with co-beneficiaries.
• Monitor and progress open cases to ensure timely completion.
• Review estate accounts carefully, ensuring accuracy and appropriate application of tax exemptions.
• Obtain tax deduction certificates where cost-effective to do so.
• Ensure funds are allocated correctly to restricted or unrestricted purposes as specified in Wills.
• Comply with Law Society guidelines regarding Non-Contentious Costs.
• Represent Marie Curie’s interests in shared estates and collaborate with legal professionals and the public.
• Identify and escalate potential risks or disputes that may affect our entitlement.
• Seek opportunities to maximise the value of legacies and proactively manage estate assets.
• Support stewardship activity by working closely with the Legacy Marketing and Local Legacy teams.

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience in legacy administration.
• Experience working in or with the charity sector.
• ILM Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration, Law Degree, or relevant professional qualification.

Fundraising Officer Job Description

Key Responsibilities Fundraising and Finance:

• To carry out and contribute to the fundraising strategy
• Write comprehensive and compelling funding applications to Trusts and Foundations, tailoring them to meet a range of criteria
• To research and develop new funders to support the achievement of fundraising goals
• Build, nurture and maintain positive relationships with current funders, corporates and donors by stewarding them well.

This is a new role within the Bereavement Support Service proactively engaging bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support digital enquiries, working in a team to deliver and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.

The aim of this post is to provide consistent, high-quality emotional support via digital channels to bereaved families who seek support from the Lullaby Trust.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Proactively engage bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support digital enquiries, working in a team to deliver and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.

· Assist with the setting up of new digital channels to be used by the Lullaby Trust to answer and respond to bereaved families.

· To be the primary contact for the bereavement support digital services including WhatsApp, text, webchat and other social media channels.

· Proactively engage with bereaved families through social media and other online platforms.

· Ensure any safeguarding concerns are actioned in accordance with the organisations Safeguarding policy.

· Send materials to bereaved contacts, including bereavement packs and follow up emails and ensure all documents and databases are updated with each contact in line with the department guidelines, including Raiser’s Edge, Excel databases.

· Cover and answer the bereavement support helpline and online enquiries responding within the set guidelines and KPIs for the department.

· Ensure any messages on Bereavement Support Facebook Groups are monitored and advice is given via befrienders where appropriate.

· Attend face to face events for bereaved families including family days and memorial events when needed.

· Work with Income and Engagement Team around social media bereavement support content/posts.

2. Deliver and run live bereavement themed sessions on social media

· Run monthly live sessions on social media on bereavement topics/themes, responding to comments and messages during and after the sessions, ensuring anyone seeking ongoing support is responded to and referred to relevant services .

· Work with the Engagement Team to promote live session.

· Facilitate monthly remembrance sessions.

3. Ensure the bereavement support services are promoted to those bereaved and to professionals working with bereaved families

· Assist with the recruitment and facilitation of Bereaved Families’ Panel.

· Keep up to date with the bereavement support world including joining National Bereavement Alliance, Child Bereavement Network and research around grief and bereavement.

· Attend events as required to represent the Lullaby Trust’s bereavement support services.

4. Maintain accurate records throughout all services, complying with the organisation’s recording and reporting requirements

This year, Brake celebrates 30 years of life-changing work, and we’re looking for a committed and compassionate Caseworker to help us continue making an impact. If you are based in the Kent or Essex area and want to help people at their most vulnerable moments, this could be the role for you.

Every 20 minutes, someone is killed or seriously injured on UK roads. For families affected, the emotional and practical challenges are immense. As a Caseworker, you will provide direct, trauma-informed care to individuals and families suffering from the sudden bereavement or life-altering injury of a loved one. Working mostly remotely, with home visits to service users, you’ll offer vital emotional and practical support—including helping them access therapeutic resources, financial assistance, and guidance through the complexities of medical and legal processes.

This role is flexible, allowing you to structure your own working pattern within weekdays from 8am to 6pm. While travel is required, you’ll have control over your diary. The work is challenging but immensely rewarding, requiring resilience, empathy, and a dedication to making a real difference in people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

· Providing direct support to road victims and their families in the Kent, Essex & East region, following Brake’s trauma-informed model of care.

· Managing a caseload of service users, ensuring their emotional, practical, and advocacy needs are met.

· Undertaking comprehensive needs assessments and creating individualised support plans

· Offering emotional and practical support—this can include helping families access therapeutic resources, financial aid, or even facilitating keepsakes to honour the memory of their loved ones

· Liaising with professionals, including police officers, Family Liaison Officers, mental health services, coroners, GPs, and other support organisations.

· Advocating for victims within medical, legal, and social services to ensure their voices are heard.

About The Role

The overall remit of this role is to:

1. Lead prospect research and funding trends analysis, identifying strategic opportunities and informing fundraising strategy

2. Strategically map, expand, and cultivate high-value supporter networks, taking ownership of key relationships

3. Design, implement, and optimise comprehensive stakeholder engagement journeys, ensuring a high-quality donor experience

4. Support good governance in Climate Catalyst by planning and organising the work of the board, with direction from the CEO

• Develop and execute sophisticated communication plans tailored to specific donor segments, ensuring compelling messaging and impact reporting.

• Prepare and deliver high quality briefings, proposals, and presentations for senior leadership to use in high-stakes donor meetings and engagements.

• Support the development and updating of core project materials including key messages, Q&A, response lines, briefings and presentations, tailoring messages to specific audiences, to be used across multiple channels 

• Proactively analyse philanthropic trends, competitor activities, and funding opportunities to support the Director of Fundraising & Communications in adapting Climate Catalyst’s fundraising strategy 

• With support from the Digital Communications Manager, lead the strategic utilisation and optimisation of CRM and fundraising management tools to ensure data integrity, generate actionable insights, and support reporting on fundraising performance.

Board and Strategic Council support (30%)

• Support good governance in Climate Catalyst - by developing the board workplan, organising meetings, securing inputs to these meetings, minute-taking, and ensure follow up on agreed actions (all with direction from the CEO)

• Drive and support pro-active engagement between Climate Catalyst senior staff and individual members of the Strategic Council, with direction from the CEO

• Drive and support pro-active and effective relationship management by the CEO with high-level partners and allies of Climate Catalyst, by planning, preparing and tracking engagement 

What You Would Bring

This will involve the management of daily financial matters and overseeing the production of the monthly management accounts for both the hospice and its commercial companies. Netherton Feelgood Factory, a community-based healthy living centre, is offering an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people and the environment by taking forward the development of the Netherton Community Garden and Green Hub. We are looking for an imaginative and committed person with knowledge of horticulture but also with the people skills to support and help people from the local area.

The Netherton Community Garden started life in 2016 as a vision to develop a piece of waste urban land into a garden that could be enjoyed by the community and that also would produce fresh produce to promote health and awareness of growing skills.

Since then, and thanks latterly to a National Lottery grant, the garden has begun to develop as a Green Community Hub with the aim of enabling local people to adopt more sustainable lifestyles.  The garden has a positive impact on the local community by providing a meeting place, a venue for skills training and a place to promote positive mental and physical health.

The Co-ordinator will also work within the Feelgood Factory as a member of the Community team.

Job Purpose:

The co-ordination of the Netherton Community Garden to:

•  promote its movement towards greater financial stability through encouraging income generation
•  train, facilitate and manage volunteers and community groups to deliver projects in the Netherton Community Garden which support the Garden’s overall vision of promoting a greener local community.

In addition the postholder will operate within the Feelgood Factory as a member of the community team, facilitating at least one group aimed at socially isolated people.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Garden and maintenance

• To work closely with the Community Garden Steering Group and the staff of the Feelgood Factory to maintain the Community Garden, leading on overall scheduling for dedicated work and seasonal priorities
• To work closely with the Chief Executive in identifying and implementing moves towards making the Community Garden more financially sustainable.
• To oversee planting and re-planting areas throughout the year on an agreed schedule
• To oversee and undertake general garden maintenance, including weeding, hedge trimming, strimming and leaf blowing
• To ensure that tools are in good working order and deal with any defects immediately

Garden project facilitation

• To work with the Steering Group to develop the practical concept of the Community Garden and work with the local community to attract people into it.
• To lead on the development and subsequent delivery of garden based training and community programmes, within agreed budgets and schedules
• To ensure  that volunteers are trained in the safe use of tools and equipment and supervise this where applicable
•  To work with the Feelgood Factory and other local groups in recruiting local volunteers to be part of the project
• To work with the Steering Group and the Feelgood Factory to coordinate and deliver community growing days and garden-based events
• To work with the Feelgood Factory marketing team and other colleagues to ensure effective communication of the Community Garden
• To work with the Steering Group and the Feelgood Factory’s Fundraising team to undertake fundraising for the Netherton Community Garden, researching opportunities and providing materials for applications

Community work

• To work as part of the wider Feelgood Factory Community Team
• To facilitate at least one group within the Feelgood Factory aimed at alleviating social isolation

Health and safety

• To adhere to and be accountable for the health and safety procedures of the Community Garden
• To develop existing Feelgood Factory procedures and risk assessments to incorporate garden specific health and safety planning and/or risk assessments
• To ensure volunteers and visitors comply with legal and Feelgood Factory requirements
