Main duties

Fundraising CRM Project Leadership

• Lead the end-to-end project to replace the current CRM system, including an audit of existing data, research into CRM options, supplier selection and full onboarding and implementation.
• Manage and maintain the current Salesforce system during the review period, ensuring it remains functional, accurate, and fit for purpose while supporting the transition process.
• Act as the day-to-day lead for the CRM system within the Fundraising and Communications team, ensuring it meets team needs and supports strategic goals.

CRM and Data Management

• Maintain and improve the quality of supporter data through regular cleansing, deduplication, and tagging to ensure accuracy and GDPR compliance.
• Working with data flows and setting up integrations, ensuring the system runs smoothly on an ongoing basis, making updates, troubleshooting issues whilst maintaining data consistency.
• Work with the Finance team to support integration between the CRM and finance systems for seamless donation and income reporting.

Data Selections, Segmentation and Campaign Support

• Collaborate with the Fundraising team to perform targeted data selections for appeals, newsletters, stewardship journeys, and events.
• Develop and maintain segmentation structures and logic to support personalised supporter journeys and strategic targeting.
• Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to provide campaign-ready data for fundraising, advocacy, and engagement activities.

Reporting and Insight

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that provide real time insight into fundraising performance, donor behaviour and campaign results.
• Create and deliver regular and ad hoc fundraising analysis to inform strategic decisions and performance tracking.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve donor retention, upgrade journeys and lifetime value through data driven insight.

Starting Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 gross per annum (based on experience) plus benefits

Purpose

The Programme Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of project delivery activities across our portfolio, predominantly in Africa, Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East. 

The post holder will support project delivery, ensuring quality expectations (internal and client), delivering within the scope and budgeted resources of projects, and in line with project timelines. The post holder will work closely with other members of the project delivery team, our technical team, delivery partners, and consultants to ensure projects maximise their positive impact.

The Programme Officer will also support the Senior Programme Manager to disseminate good management practice across the organisation, and advise on delivery approaches.

Main Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Programme Officer include the following:

Project Support

• Provide support to Programme Managers in the delivery of projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope and comply with client contracts
• Take on the project management of assigned select projects within a determined budget/complexity threshold, ensuring that they are delivered to time and quality
• Set-up and monitor project workplans, including change requests ensuring that approvals are formally recorded and filed
• Manage day-to-day relationships with delivery partners and internal team(s) and build a solid understanding of delivery needs and timelines across projects
• Monitor and support timely client and consultant billing and invoices attached to delivery
• Support onboarding of consultants for new projects, including due diligence checks and contract preparation based on set templates
• Ensure project management software and tools are accurate and kept up to date for allocated projects
• Provide timely responses to client queries and alert the Head of UK/Kenya Programme Management of any potential risks
• Lead duty of care and travel planning for staff and consultants, working alongside administrative officers
• Liaise closely with technical colleagues, Head of team, and Programme Managers / Officers on project support needs.

 Project Financial Management

• Monitor project budget performance, capturing variances and liaising with the Finance Team and Head of UK/Kenya Programme Management
• Monitor and support the processing of consultants’ expenses/fees against contracts and client invoices against contracts
• Make recommendations to ensure financial outcomes are met with respect to time, quality and cost, and provide early warning of project overspend
• Prepare internal project update reporting including finances and resourcing using required management tools. 

Organisational Support and Business Development

• Provide support in strengthening policies, procedures, and management tools for Development Pathways
• Coordinate with wider project teams to ensure technical capacity is well planned across Development Pathways’ portfolio of projects 
• Signpost colleagues to relevant project management tools and processes, when required
• Support project closure processes as required, capturing and sharing lessons internally
• Provide ad hoc input to evolving organisational requirements as directed by senior members
• Assist with the identification and monitoring of business opportunities in donor markets, as requested
• Update SharePoint and ensure project data sheets are developed and up to date to facilitate bids for tenders
• Collate and share project information to support the Business Development and Communications department.

Required:

• An undergraduate degree in an appropriate subject 
• Up to 2 years’ experience working on project support or delivery within international development,  research and/or the consultancy sector
• Ability and confidence to work independently and manage their own workflows
• Good communication skills and an ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at the individual level and in representation of the organisation
• Excellent drafting skills.
•  Ability to understand and effectively analyse and utilise financial information
• Proven ability to resolve problems, anticipate barriers and create practical solutions
• High IT proficiency (Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), SharePoint, etc.)
• Demonstrated attention to detail ensuring quality standards are maintained
• Ability to travel internationally when required.

Advantageous:

• 1-2 years direct project management experience
• Proficiency in additional languages, especially Arabic or French.

The CERN & Society Foundation, established in June 2014, is the charity through which charitable gifts for CERN & Society projects are raised from companies, trusts/foundations and individuals.

As an Individual and Digital Fundraising Officer, under the supervision of the Head of the Partnerships and Fundraising section, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow individual donor revenue, both through direct relationship management and digital campaigns. This role blends donor cultivation and stewardship with online fundraising initiatives, ensuring a seamless and engaging donor experience across platforms.

Core Tasks and Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Head of Partnerships and Fundraising section and in close collaboration with the other members of the team, the Individual and Digital Fundraising Officer will contribute to the following tasks:

Individual Giving:

• Management of a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, focusing on mid-level and emerging major donors.
• Development of personalised cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and donor-journeys to deepen donor engagement.
• Preparation and execution of annual and mid-level donor campaigns, including appeals, thank-you strategies, and impact reporting.
• Identification of opportunities to upgrade donors and convert digital supporters to long-term donors.

Digital Fundraising:

• Development and implementation of strategies for digital fundraising campaigns across channels and oversight of their implementation.
• Optimisation of online donation platforms for user experience, conversion rates and back-end usability.
• Analysis of donor data and campaign performance to refine strategies and improve results.
• Development of cases for support and targeted communication strategies based on a stakeholder analysis, to align fundraising with storytelling and brand messaging.

Other Tasks:

• Supervision of day-to-day activities of the PFU Junior Communicator.
• Support and advise for PFU Team members on topics of targeted stakeholder communication as well as on effective cases for support for the CERN & Society Foundation projects and activities.

About Action for ME

Action for ME is the only charity in the UK providing support, including healthcare, to people of all ages affected by ME. The charity was founded by Sue Finlay in 1987 and since then has been taking holistic approach so we can make an impact on multiple fronts - from amplifying the voices of people affected by ME in Government and leading on breakthrough research, to providing "lifeline" support and unique healthcare services on a daily basis.

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), sometimes referred to and diagnosed as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), is a chronic, fluctuating disease, causing symptoms such as post-exertional malaise (PEM), sleep problems, problems with thinking and memory (brain fog), pain and crushing fatigue. There are an estimated 1.3 million people living with ME or ME-like symptoms, including PEM, in the UK alone.

Even in its so-called mildest form, ME can have a significant impact on an individual’s life, and not just on their health. A lack of understanding and awareness about ME means patients can experience disbelief, and even discrimination, from friends, family, health and social care professionals, employers and teachers.

For the first time there is an increased awareness of post viral illness because of the Covid -19 pandemic. After decades of neglect this offers Action for ME an opportunity to accelerate our work for people with ME in a way we have never been able to do before. The intent of everything we do is to pursue positive impact for the lives, rights, and futures of people affected by ME.

Job purpose

This role will deliver an exceptional supporter experience to our donors, building and maintaining strong relationships with our supporters. Working closely with other members of the fundraising and communications teams, you will deliver our supporter journey, maintain regular communication with donors and be an integral part of our fundraising campaigns and appeals.

Key duties

• Work with the Fundraising Operations Manager to deliver our supporter journey, engaging current and prospective donors with our work and giving them an excellent experience of supporting Action for ME.
• Be responsible for creating the methods that ensure each supporter relationship is maximised, increasing retention rates for a growing supporter base. As such you will be required to engage with supporters so that they feel valued, and relationships can be developed further for the benefit of the charity.
• Lead on thanking donors, including making phone calls to donors as part of stewardship.
• Work closely with the Fundraising Operations Manager and the team to support the growth of income streams, including but not limited to, individual giving, Gift Aid, legacies, trading, community fundraising and membership.
• Work with the communications team on the delivery of digital communications, including social media and e-communications for a diverse range of audiences.
• Play a key role in fundraising appeals and campaigns including our yearly Big Give Christmas Challenge, Summer Appeal, Thanking Campaign and any other fundraising initiative or project as directed by the Fundraising Operations Manager or Director of Fundraising.
• Ensure excellent supporter care and maintenance of accurate database records.
• Create inspiring donor communications, including stories and impact from our wider work (support & healthcare services, research and policy work)
• Work closely with the Philanthropy Manager to identify potential major donors.
• Develop innovative and creative ways of widening our supporter base and increasing donations.

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Data Quality Officer within our organisation. This position is pivotal in ensuring the accurate and timely generation of reports that provide insights into our therapy services' performance and impact. The Data Quality Officer, with support from the Operations Manager, will be responsible for developing and maintaining the organisation's data reporting processes from end to end, including gathering data, analysing trends, and presenting findings in a clear and compelling manner.

Working closely with various stakeholders, including management, external funders, staff and therapists, the Data Quality Officer will play a key role in translating data into actionable insights that drive decision-making and demonstrate the effectiveness of our therapy programmes and other services. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

A significant aspect of this role involves reporting to external funders, such as government agencies, foundations, and donors. Purpose of the job

Primarily, you’ll own responsibility for our small to medium grant pipeline, so we're looking for someone with a track record of successfully securing five figure funding from Trusts, Foundations, or Corporates. As well as writing high quality, comprehensive and persuasive funding applications, you’ll need to manage reporting and relationship management with the funders you successfully engage with and oversee wider fundraising areas, including playing a key role in our social media and communications, supporting sponsored event and London marathon runners, and playing a key part in planning our annual fundraising events. We see significant potential for growth within the role with the capacity for the right candidate to progress to Senior Fundraising Officer level within the first 12-18 months.

The current CEO, Denise Stygal-Watson, has done a fantastic job since joining the charity over four years ago and will be handing over an organisation at an exciting time in its development.
