Legal Counsel
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Counsel to join the Chief Executive's Office. Your role is to provide general legal advice; to act as commercial counsel, assisting in reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, ensuring these are fit for purpose and to manage any potential commercial disputes.

Role Requirements
- Providing accurate, relevant and timely advice to the organisation on a wide range of legal topics that relate to the organisation.
- Managing and mitigating legal risks by designing and implementing organisational policies and procedures as well as providing in-house legal templates.
- Ensuring compliance with all laws, rules, regulations and statutory guidance that apply to the business including any changes that may arise from time to time
- Drafting, reviewing, and supporting with the negotiation of various commercial contracts and agreements including retail shop leases.
- Providing timely, accurate and commercially responsive advice to CEO, SLT, senior managers and trustees on both a formal and informal basis.
- Communicating with and managing third-party bodies such as regulators, external counsel or auditors.
- Promoting legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the organisation.
- Designing and delivering legal training to the organisation.
- Providing advice on the effective management and protection of The Children’s Trust intellectual property.
- Providing advice on the effective management and protection of The Children’s Trusts employees.
- Providing support with coroner’s inquests including instructing external counsel, liaising with the Coroner’s Office and conveying legally privileged advice to the SLT and trustees as appropriate.

The team and role overview
The HR & Operations function is led by the HR & Operations Manager and includes two Coordinators and one Operations Officer. Together, the team is responsible for delivering effective people management processes, operational support, and internal systems that enable the organisation to function smoothly across both UK and international offices.
The HR & Operations Coordinator reports to the HR & Operations Manager and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of HR processes, internal policies, and organisational logistics. Job Purpose
BSR events are a key benefit to members and the wider rheumatology community, offering the very latest in science, innovation, research and cases.
Our events team deliver the award-winning Annual Conference in a hybrid format to c2500 delegates, plus our Case-based Conference, as well as a programme of celebratory awards.
This role sits within the Events team which is responsible for delivering BSR’s annual conferences and awards. The team of four includes the Head of Events, Events Manager, Digital Events Manager and the Events Executive, who assists in the planning and delivery of our hybrid and in-person events. You will work on a range of areas including registration, logistics, being the main point of contact for delegates, and liaising with venues and suppliers. This is an exciting role for someone looking to get more exposure to different areas of events and working with multiple stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the registration process for BSR conferences, including online booking journey, managing CRM/registration systems, end to end customer service and reporting registration data insights.
- Work with the Events Manager on the delivery of conference programmes and networking events.
- Lead on event logistics including awards, abstract poster submissions, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation, accommodation, travel arrangements and speaker expenses.

Our dynamic fundraising department generated £4.5m through donations in 2023/24, and we are now preparing for an ambitious multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the site of the Royal Free Hospital.

This role involves utilising advanced analytical techniques, managing complex data projects, and developing insightful reports and dashboards.
The role will work in close partnership with our Digital, Content, and Marketing teams, in leading data initiatives that improve data-driven decision-making and optimises engagement, marketing, and content across all channels.

The Head of Operations and Governance is a key member of senior staff. You will be either a practised operations specialist looking for a new challenge or someone with relevant experience looking to step up to their first role leading operations. In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for financial management, fundraising admin, preparation of annual accounts and bookkeeping
- Support the CEO in fundraising initiatives and project admin
- Provide the operational underpinning for the Centre ensuring the smooth running of IT, events, contracts and all office systems
- Act as secretariat to the Board of Trustees, Advisory Committee, Remuneration Committee and Audit and Risk Committee
- Guide the governance of the charity and complete statutory reporting.

Job Overview
As the Advocacy Officer, you are responsible for building the profile, influence and credibility of IRC’s work with UK politicians, political parties and opinion formers on our humanitarian and development issues. You will be supporting the Health Services Manager and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, all with a view to improving the quality and the standards of health services for all people affected by Crohn's and Colitis.

Our location

About the role:
The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Drive Data Team Manager and Senior Managers within the Drive Partnership to ensure data and reporting remains rigorous and robust, and informs recommendations across the Drive Programme and partners. Your contribution to the team
You will support all financial aspects of budgeting, reporting, compliance and financial management of grants managed by ARTICLE 19, including all finance-related work with grant-receiving partners. The role is a key part of improving our programme delivery by supporting grant budget holders.
What you can expect in a typical day
- To support production of financial reports in compliance with donor and internal ARTICLE 19 requirements for a portfolio of projects managed by ARTICLE 19.
- To generate and review transactional reports and follow through as necessary with corrections and adjustments.
- To receive, process and account for expenditure by grant partners, including reviewing supporting documentation.
What you will bring to the role
- Qualified accountant with a CCAB recognised qualification, or working towards qualification, or qualified through relevant work experience.
- Understanding of accounting for restricted income and expenditure in line with international nonprofit financial reporting standards and donor requirements.
- Experience in partner due diligence and partner finance management, including reviewing financial capacity, assessing financial risk, and supporting partners to strengthen financial systems and compliance.
- Experience of working with overseas partners and offices, understanding different cultural and regulatory environments

The Finance directorate ensures Blood Cancer UK is financially sustainable, well-governed and equipped to make informed decisions in support of its mission through providing robust financial stewardship, strategic insights and rigorous risk and legal oversight.
The FP&A and Business Partnering team plays a key role in enabling strategic and operational decision-making by providing strategic financial insight across all directorates, delivering the organisation’s budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
You’ll play a central role in shaping how we invest in fundraising to drive sustainable income growth—balancing financial insight with innovation and ambition. You’ll act as a critical friend to the Director of Engagement and Deputy Director of Fundraising.
