About the role
You’ll provide full professional business support to our Research directorate. You’ll ensure high quality administration across a broad range of tasks and liaise with various stakeholders across the charity.
You’ll work with colleagues across the business support team to improve our processes and the technology we use to manage our information, team and projects to become more efficient and collaborative
What you'll do

Provide administrative and practical support, acting as the first point of contact as and when required, responding to common queries or signposting as appropriate

Coordinate team meetings, circulate agendas and make meeting notes

Provide support with financial administration tasks such as submitting expense claims, raising purchase orders, processing invoices and responding to requests as needed

Engage, influence and update a variety of stakeholders at all levels across and at cross-directorate meetings as required

Support Research Leadership Team and Directorate Team meetings, with agendas and minutes, actions are followed up, and decisions implemented
What you'll bring

Have a broad understanding of scientific research through a degree or working in a research oriented organisation

Experience of team administration or supporting a senior executive

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate when required at all levels internally and externally

Excellent administration skills, including minute-taking, presentation preparation and a positive, assertive and resilient approach to prioritising and juggling varying pressures and conflicting priorities
-
Experience in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously that meet the business requirements with minimal supervision

Experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with senior stakeholders

About the role
At St Mungo’s, we are dedicated to transforming lives and ending rough sleeping. Beyond providing direct services to our clients, we leverage the experience, data, and evidence from our work to advocate for systemic change across the UK. Our Strategies, Policy, and Research team is at the heart of this mission, using rich insights to shape policies that drive positive change.
We are currently looking for a Strategy and Research Officer to join the team, where you will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing development of St Mungo’s approach to strategy and research and supporting the delivery, implementation and reporting of strategies and action plans. In this role you will:
· Uphold rigorous and ethical research standards across the organisation, ensuring all research activities and commissioned projects adhere to best practices and our strategic priorities.
· Manage and conduct smaller research projects, with support from the Strategy and Research Manager, including undertaking qualitative and quantitative data collection (such as interviews, focus groups or surveys) and data analysis.
· Support the Strategy and Research Manager with oversight of organisational strategies and delivery of associated action plans.
In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in developing, designing, and delivering research and evaluation projects that align with the organisation’s strategic goals.
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of working collaboratively with stakeholders to produce accurate research reports.
They will have experience of analysing data from various sources to compile comprehensive reports and in monitoring and evaluating organisational strategies.
Above all, we are looking for people who share our ambitions and have a genuine interest in working as part of an organisation to support people experiencing homelessness.

Coeliac UK is seeking a highly organised and motivated Research Officer to support the charity’s research programme and the wider work of the Evidence and Policy Team.
Job Title: Research Officer
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Head Office, High Wycombe (with the possibility of regular home working by agreement)
Salary: Circa £33,000 per annum
Salary Band: Specialist (SP4)

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality research that helps improve diagnosis, treatment and quality of life for people affected by coeliac disease. Working closely with internal teams, researchers and external partners, you will play a key role in managing research processes, supporting funded projects and ensuring research findings are accessible to a wide range of audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the administration and management of research funding calls, peer and lay review processes, and funded research projects.
- Provide support for internal research projects and appropriate third-party research related to coeliac disease.
- Organise and support research governance groups, including meetings, agendas and minutes.
- Search, review and summarise research publications for internal use and external communications.
- Assist with the organisation of the charity’s Research Conference and other Evidence and Policy events.
- Maintain accurate research records, databases and CRM systems in line with GDPR requirements.
About You
We’re looking for a detail-focused and proactive individual with a strong interest in research and evidence-based practice. You will ideally have:
- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, with strong numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- High attention to detail and confidence working with data, reports and publications.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
