The collaborative and ambitious National Unified Renal Translational Research Enterprise (NURTuRE) biobank is a unique resource with a central role to play in delivering the charity’s strategy. NURTuRE is an industry-standard resource of patient samples and linked clinical data with the clear potential to significantly accelerate discoveries and enable a transformation in our ability to prevent, predict and treat kidney disease.

We now require an experienced professional to lead, develop and maximise the research and commercial opportunities offered by this unique resource. Ultimately, it must be utilised to accelerate the delivery of new diagnostic and treatment discoveries that will improve kidney health.

The director of NURTuRE will report to the chief research officer. Key internal relationships will be built with the chief operating officer, the executive lead for translation innovation and enterprise and the director of research operations. It will also involve working with external scientists, clinicians and biobank/data experts as well as with patients and key external stakeholders including major funders, industry and academic institutions.

The appointee will possess an agile, flexible and entrepreneurial / business development approach with excellent networking skills, to support the delivery of all aspects of the NURTuRE biobanking programme. The post-holder will also manage the NURTuRE Strategy Group and oversee applications for access to both data and samples.

There will be a requirement for the post-holder to understand the research landscape, horizon-scan for new opportunities and facilitate and develop new cohorts for inclusion within the NURTuRE programme.

Katherine Low Settlement is a busy, local charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation.   

  

We run a range of our own community services to support local older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people. 

  

We are looking for an experienced, confident and proactive fundraiser to join our income generation team to raise more grant income from charitable trusts and foundations primarily, along with corporates and other partners. These include local schools and community organisations. Maintaining great relationships with these and other supporters Is a key requirement of this role. A confident self-starter, you will have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Role Purpose 

Working alongside our chief executive (who is an experienced fundraiser), an external larger bid writing resource and heads of programmes, the key objectives are to successfully generate income with grants valuing up to c.£10k in line with KLS fundraising plan and annual budget; develop and maintain relationships, and secure funding from, a portfolio of loyal and prospective supporters. Stewardship, reporting, pipeline and other database management tasks are other key features of the role. 

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Drafting and submitting funding bids up to c£10k grant value 

• Reporting to funders and supporting relationships with funders and partners

• Researching and identifying grant funding opportunities 

• Managing bid writing process, including gathering input from colleagues 

• Briefing programme colleagues on project monitoring required to produce funding reports, including case studies 

• Working with CEO to ensure monitoring takes place throughout project delivery and within reporting timelines for multiple projects and funders 

• Ensuring project reports are completed and submitted to funders on time 

• Maintaining administrative procedures effectively to support and monitor our fundraising activities. This includes keeping donor records and our database (Salesforce) up to date, ensuring income is recorded accurately and the pipeline is updated, mailing documents and thanking donors

About the role

Working in close collaboration with the Senior Mass Fundraising Lead, the role will manage and deliver a variety of community-led fundraising initiatives and dynamic challenge events that engage supporters and generate vital unrestricted funds for children affected by neuroblastoma.

The role focuses on building strong relationships with fundraisers, volunteers and ambassadors, providing guidance, support and motivation to help them surpass their fundraising goals. The Community and Challenge Events Fundraising Manager will both steward existing and reactive contacts, as well as be confident in securing new networks, including representing the charity in presentations and other public speaking opportunities.

The Role

Candidates should have experience of successfully pitching stories to national media and know what makes a good health story. You will have a fluent writing style and be confident working with senior stakeholders to brief them before interviews.

The Ancient Tree Forum (ATF) is seeking a motivated and organised Technical and Engagement Officer to join our small, friendly and flexible team. This role is vital to achieving our strategic outcomes by providing expert technical advice, supporting and collaborating with the Technical Advisory Panel to develop authoritative guidance and publications. Volunteering for Health is a NHS funded programme to build the capacity and capability of organisations and local health and care systems in England, through the development of volunteering infrastructure. It aims to realise the potential of volunteering in improving the experience and outcomes of people using our health and care systems.

Following a successful bid by Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) as part of a partnership with NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group (UHL Group), NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, and Liverpool City Council we are recruiting for a Volunteering for Health Development Officer to support the partnership in its intention to:

AMMF is the UK’s only charity solely dedicated to raising awareness of and funding research into cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer).  The charity works closely throughout the UK with clinicians, healthcare professionals, researchers, policy makers, patients and their carers, as well as actively collaborating across Europe and globally.  

The role of the Events and Campaigns Lead is to plan and implement a wide range of high quality, responsive activities, including fundraising campaigns via social media, and developing relationships with supporter ambassadors, and planning and organising regional events, throughout the year.   

The role also involves working with the CEO and wider team on AMMF’s major events, such as Westminster receptions, nurse study days, and the annual 3-day conference. 

It is expected the Events and Campaigns Lead will develop an understanding of AMMF’s aims and objectives and its policies and procedures.

• Deliver a programme for fundraising campaigns throughout the year, eg, summer competitions, Christmas fundraisers
• Lead on and be first point of contact for regional ambassadors, their meetings and events
• Develop, set up and manage a database and network of regional volunteers

• Prepare for and attend external events representing AMMF, for example, university or hospital information days
• Attend external AMMF networking, partner and fundraising events when required
• Attend the annual AMMF conference and other events, and fulfil duties as required.

The Events and Communications Officer will work across the team to plan, produce and deliver a calendar of in-person and on-line events. They will also communicate our work to external audiences to drive the participation of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in our programmes and attract potential funding from corporates, grant-makers, and government bodies.

The post holder will work with the programme team to manage a calendar of online and in-person events and oversee the event process from beginning to end. The post holder will manage ticketing platforms, oversee event budgets and logistics and create event briefings to ensure alignment between external speakers and team members. This will include overseeing the set-up of IT and technology to ensure smooth event delivery and acting as a main contact point for external event partners. After events, the post holder will manage communications with external partners and audiences, log their participation in the CRM system and produce timely reports on event outcomes for the programme team contributing to evaluation and learning cycles.

The post holder will also work with the Director and programme team to deliver the charity’s marketing and communications plan. They will maintain and grow our brand identity and tone of voice by using social media platforms, paid advertising campaigns and creating original content for our website to share our impact, drive participation and grow our partnerships. Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity supports the hospital by funding groundbreaking research, cutting-edge medical equipment, child-centred facilities and life-changing support.

The Grant Operations Manager, part of the Impact and Charitable Programmes Department, will oversee the business-critical grant operations within the Grant Funding team. They will ensure there is robust decision making, effective processes to select and award the most impactful projects and programmes, and will enable the monitoring of outputs, outcomes and impact against the department strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Grant Governance and Compliance: Lead long-range grant governance planning for the team, oversee committees, review and refresh policies, ensure grant funding processes meet required standards, such as GDPR, and manage external audits.
• Grant Finances and Budgeting: Support setting and monitoring charitable expenditure and Grant Funding team budget, approve invoices, and maintain strong working relationships with finance leads at host institutions, the hospital and ICH.
• Grant Funding Team Operations: Support with the delivery of team business plans, implement KPIs for good grant management, and ensure effective support across the full grant lifecycle through team coordination and leadership.
• Grant Processes and Systems: Oversee grant processes from pre- to post-award, lead continuous review and improvements, support transition to new Grant Management System, and ensure accurate data storage and reporting.
• Grant Management: Ensure good processes are in place for grant funding elements of restricted funding, oversee use of special purpose funding, oversee accurate grant data to external partners.
• Line Management and Leadership: Deputise for Senior leaders as required, line manage two Grants Operations Officers and build relationships with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in research and grants management, including research governance, project management, and supporting high-level committees. They will be highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships across scientific, clinical, and research communities. A good understanding of charity sector fundraising, the UK medical research landscape, and the complexities of NHS-based research is desirable.
