About the opportunity

As an Assurance Officer, you'll work in partnership with colleagues across Alzheimer's Society to deliver professional, credible, and valued assurance and counter fraud services. You'll be part of our Finance & Assurance directorate, working alongside the Assurance & Counter Fraud Manager to complete risk-based, value-adding assurance work. Asylum Aid is seeking a solicitor and IAAS-accredited senior caseworker to join its Public Law team, with experience in immigration legal aid, judicial review, and asylum and human rights law. The role involves managing a complex caseload of asylum, trafficking, human rights, and public law claims, providing high-quality legal advice and representation, and conducting judicial review challenges in the Administrative Court and Upper Tribunal. The successful candidate will work closely with the Public Law Supervisor and the Director of Legal Casework to ensure that individual cases are handled effectively while also identifying systemic issues suitable for strategic litigation to achieve broader impact.

In addition to casework, the postholder will contribute to the strategic development of Asylum Aid’s public law work by supervising junior staff, providing training on judicial review procedures, and collaborating with colleagues on internal strategy discussions. They will also engage with external stakeholders and other sector organisations to represent Asylum Aid, contribute to policy discussions, and develop initiatives aimed at increasing the effectiveness of public law challenges. About StreetVet

Homelessness continues to rise across the UK, and for many individuals experiencing it, their pet has been a vital and integral part of their life, often long before they lost their home. The bond between a person and their animal can be profound, offering emotional support, companionship, and a sense of purpose. For many, their pet’s wellbeing is a top priority, even in the most challenging circumstances. 

Accessing veterinary care while living on the streets, sofa surfing or living in a hostel or temporary accommodation provider can be incredibly difficult. That’s where StreetVet comes in. We are an award-winning national charity and a registered veterinary practice with the RCVS, providing free, accessible vet care to pets belonging to those experiencing homelessness across the UK. Our dedicated team of volunteer veterinary professionals deliver essential services where support is needed. We take our experience out of the consulting room and onto the pavements to provide the same first opinion vet care you would expect to receive in a practice. 

StreetVet also works to remove barriers to accommodation and homelessness service through our Accredited Hostel and Day Centre Scheme, which helps hostels, day centres, and hubs implement positive pet policies and become pet-inclusive. This includes free veterinary care for registered pets, staff training, essential pet supplies, and access to virtual vet consultations via our telemedicine platform. The scheme empowers hostels to welcome pet owners without forcing them to choose between a roof over their head and their beloved companion.

Role Description

The Hostel & Day Centre Coordinator (North) will work closely with the Hostel and Day Centre Manager and the Coordinator (South) to ensure the effective administration and smooth day-to-day operations of the StreetVet Accredited Hostel & Day Centre Schemes. This role plays a key part in welcoming and onboarding new hostels and day centres into the network and supporting the ongoing engagement and success of existing partners. By fostering strong relationships with hostels, day centres, suppliers, and sponsors, the post holder will help build a connected and responsive community that ultimately supports more pets accessing hostels and day centres. Acting as a central point of contact, they will collaborate across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure queries are addressed efficiently and support is delivered consistently. 
 
StreetVet is a small team of 15 employees and so we expect people to be highly flexible in their roles, a team player with a “can do” attitude, willing to turn their hand to anything that needs to be done.

Working alongside the Discipleship Team and colleagues within the Evangelism & Growth Team, you will be developing and communicating with networks around the Methodist Church’s biblically- and theologically coherent vision and strategy for multi-generational Methodist discipleship. As part of this, an important aspect of the role will be supporting the development of a coherent discipleship pathway across different age groups within families and children at home, which will be sensitive to key transitional development stages across generations and life experiences. You will be working with circuits and local churches as well as in partnership with external organisations; in addition, you will be and active part of the development and delivery of key events such as 3Generate.

About You

You will preferably have experience in training and project management, and it is essential that you are experienced in children, family and youth ministry. You must be experienced in the development and delivery of teaching programmes and have a good understanding of intergenerational faith development. As a good project manager and communicator, you are able to work with ecumenical and secular partners as well as local Methodist Churches and Circuits. Experience with digital content development and social media would be an advantage.

Fundraising Coordinator

Bexley Deaf Centre (BDC) is a small and dynamic, well-established charity which has been serving the borough since 1994. Our work is focussed exclusively on supporting people who are Deaf or hard of hearing. We work to raise awareness, break down barriers and promote understanding within the community.

This is an exciting time to join our organisation; we are about to launch an ambitious new 5-year strategy (supported by our fundraising strategy) and are actively expanding and developing the support and services that we provide. 

We are looking for a dynamic and driven Fundraising Coordinator who can lead on our fundraising initiatives, support with the development of new projects and organisational change to facilitate the growth of our services.

This exciting fundraising role will include:

·       Assisting with developing and implementing fundraising strategies to enable us to diversify our funding streams

· Identify and evaluate opportunities for new projects, developing proposals, establishing timelines and budgets

· Work closely with the senior leadership team to identify areas for growth and increasing capacity

· Support the growth of the organisation and change required to deliver our fundraising strategy 

Experience of working with Deaf people or knowledge of the Deaf community would be an advantage but not essential.

Job Purpose

This role is critical for delivering activities with our prestigious corporate supporters while simultaneously building an impactful alumni community. The postholder will join Ada during an exciting phase of growth and will be responsible for both stakeholder management, volunteering and events and ensuring former students and apprentices are supported in their career progression and engagement through the #alwaysAda alumni programme. The role focuses on supporting  partnerships and shaping and delivering events, including professional development, volunteering, and mentoring/support.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Philanthropy and Alumni Executive Officer will be responsible for a combination of corporate partnership delivery and alumni community management:

A. Corporate Partnerships, Fundraising & Volunteering 

• Support the department  to develop and deliver partnership plans for all supporters.

• Ensure partnership objectives are met across programme activity, including employee volunteering.

• Work with other teams to deliver  volunteering opportunities, especially the Coaching programme which matches corporate volunteers to learners.

• Develop briefings and communications to corporate partners to strengthen partnerships.

• Provide tracking and reporting of all engagement activities with partners.

• Deliver a suite of events and touch points for supporters, and support the delivery of a calendar of events such as Ada Lovelace Day, 10th year anniversary, International Women's Day and other flagship events

B. Alumni Relations and Community Management

• Develop and maintain an ongoing dialogue with the alumni community 

• Produce termly newsletters 

• Undertake regular data collection cycles (using surveys and research) to track current employment and needs of alumni.

• Maintain our Alumni Data ensuring rigorous data protection/GDPR rules are adhered to.

• Help to continuously improve the alumni programme offer

• Deliver and shape a programme of planned communications and marketing to drive alumni engagement.

• Track and maintain alumni engagement, with a drive for meaningful engagement 

• Deliver and shape a programme of both in-person and virtual events and activities to drive impact, such as a jobs board, career coaching, and networking events.

• Maintain, manage, and internally champion the alumni database.

• Recruit and support champions from within the alumni network to act as alumni ambassadors.

• Attend professional development activities and meetings that may take place outside of normal working hours.

• Be an internal advocate for the Ada alumni community and external go to for Alumni involvement.

• Maintain and grow the alumni LinkedIn group.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

• Experience of successfully delivering employee volunteering programmes.

• Experienced at dealing with a range of people in an outward-facing role.

• Experience managing individuals and groups of volunteers.

• Experience of in-person event delivery working with corporate stakeholders.

• Experience in the delivery and management of external events and/or volunteering projects.

• Fundraising experience or interest in following a career in fundraising and corporate partnerships.

• Experience of managing and collecting data sets, and the ability to think critically and analyse data/feedback to modify activity.

• Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and priorities and work under pressure.

• Relationship building across a wide range of stakeholders.

• Degree level qualification or appropriate professional experience.

About the role

Kinship Minds is a transformative programme that enhances the support we provide to kinship carers in England and Wales. Our goal is to build kinship carers' confidence and equip them with the knowledge and skills to support children in their care - especially in recognising and responding to early signs of mental health issues. 

We are at the beginning of our journey to embed therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches across all areas of service delivery. This includes 1-to-1 support, digital resources and training, and peer support networks. 

The Strategic Trauma-Informed Practice Manager will lead this transition, helping us move from a trauma-sensitive organisation on a journey that becomes trauma-aware, trauma-informed, and ultimately trauma-responsive.

This strategic and hands-on role will help Kinship strengthen its therapeutic offer and build the confidence and capacity of staff and kinship carers to understand trauma and the impact it has, and provide strategies to support. We are particularly interested in experience in developing trauma-informed parenting training and resources.

The postholder will play a key role in developing and manualising our trauma-informed approach across core services: Kinship Connected, Kinship Reach, our Advice Service, and Peer Support Service. They will work with subject matter experts to develop trauma-informed approaches, toolkits and resources into everyday service delivery – based on the needs of kinship carers and their families.

You will need to be able to step into this role quickly, bringing your experience of building and developing trauma-informed approaches in complex services. You will have strong leadership capabilities, able to work at pace autonomously with creativity and dynamism.  You will need to have excellent attention to detail.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and leading Kinship’s trauma-informed strategy, ensuring the implementation of trauma-informed principles across all service delivery (for example, using Dr Karen Treisman’s approach). 
• Leading the development and manualisation of trauma-informed practice across Kinship Connected, Kinship Reach, the Advice Service, and the Peer Support Service. This includes resources, approach and content.
• Supporting organisational development to embed trauma-informed values in practice, culture, policy, and leadership, working with our Head of People and Culture.
• Developing reflective practice approach to support managers to staff and volunteer resilience particularly across services. This could include a ‘train the trainer’ approach.
• Auditing current practices and recommend systems and processes to support trauma-informed service delivery.
• Developing and delivering capacity-building approaches and resources for kinship carers to help them identify and respond to trauma and mental health needs in children. 
• Working collaboratively with subject matter experts to develop self-guided training, toolkits, and multimedia resources.
• Providing and leading expert input into the trauma-informed design and delivery of Kinship Connected, Kinship Reach, Advice Service and other 1-to-1 support programmes.
• Guiding frontline delivery staff to adopt trauma-informed practice, including the use of strengths-based approaches and flexible, family-led planning.
• Representing Kinship at external events and meetings to raise awareness of the services and to influence other organisations, policy and practice.

Essential knowledge, abilities, skills and experience includes:

• A qualified trauma-informed practitioner with significant experience in delivering or developing trauma-informed services.  
• Experience working with kinship carers or in adoption and fostering sector.   
• Proven experience applying the principles of trauma-informed care across organisations, preferably in children and family services. 
• Experience in designing and delivering training and coaching for professionals and/or families on trauma and therapeutic approaches.  
• Excellent understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures focusing on contributing to a culture which values transparency, reflective practice and continuous learning.
