We are looking for a new senior fundraiser to join our energetic team to raise major gifts for a range of posts, scholarships and other priorities across the Humanities. Oxford is the world’s leading university for humanities teaching and research. When it opens, the Schwarzman Centre will bring together seven faculties from the division under one roof for the first time. The University’s scholarship in languages, literature, history, philosophy, religion & the arts – from the earliest civilisation to the present day – enriches our understanding of humankind, and informs how we engage with historic issues and contemporary concerns.
About the Role:
This fundraiser will work closely with senior academics in the Humanities Division. The post will focus primarily on funding for posts, scholarships and access and outreach in the academic faculties. An interest and appreciation for the arts and humanities is essential.
To Be Successful You’ll Need:
- To be an experienced development professional with a strong track record of securing major gifts and the ability to secure gifts in the range of £100k-£1m+
- Confidence to work with people from a range of backgrounds, both internally and externally
- The ability to think creatively in prospecting, cultivation and stewardship
Salary:
Grade 8: £45,585 - £54,395 per annum with possible extension to £59,421, plus an Oxford University weighting of £1,500 per annum (pro-rata).

Main purpose and scope of role
Working closely with the President and the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strategic vision and leadership and will strive to ensure that IPWSO delivers its charitable purposes and remains successful and sustainable.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)
Leadership
· Strive to ensure that the charitable purposes of IPWSO are followed and that it delivers the public benefit set out in its governing document.
· Take overall responsibility for the management and administration of IPWSO.

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity that exists to make sure no child or young person is too hungry to learn. We provide nutritious breakfasts and expert support to primary, secondary, ASN/SEND schools and pupil referral units in disadvantaged areas of England and Scotland. JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good the Philanthropy team’s role is to develop and deliver the charity's high net worth individual giving programme in line with Magic Breakfast’s strategic priorities to enable our organisational growth against our mission.
We are seeking to grow income through further cultivation and stewardship of our potential and existing donors. Our High Value Giving teams are forecast to collectively raise £5.1m in 2021/22, up from £4.6m two years ago in 2019/20. The team includes partnerships with charitable trusts and foundations, corporate organisations, and high-net-worth individuals.
Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy, this role will have a particular focus on ensuring that Magic Breakfast is offering the highest quality of donor care from start to finish, and building and developing our prospect pipeline.
We’re looking for a proactive person with excellent relationship building, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship skills as we seek to build our prospect pool, enhance or supporter journey and achieve our ambitious fundraising targets.
The Philanthropy Manager will have the opportunity to be innovative and creative, to create and test impactful donor journeys and engagement opportunities so Magic Breakfast’s supporters feel valued and can understand the transformational difference they are making to hungry children and their learning in the UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income generation and donor stewardship and prospect development

Manage your own portfolio of donors, providing excellent stewardship and strategies to uplift and secure multi year donations

About the charity: Cavernomas look like raspberries and are found in the brain and spinal cord. They're formed of abnormal blood vessels with thin leaky walls, which can bleed at any age without warning. 1 in 625 people are thought to have a cavernoma, and whilst most people won't experience symptoms 1 in 2,700 do. Symptoms can include haemorrhages, seizures and other neurological problems. Treatment involves 'wait and see', neurosurgery or stereotactic radiosurgery; with no medications currently available.

You will need to be creative with the ability to produce social media campaigns, digital content and videos, and lead the development of engaging websites to tell our clients’ stories. What you will do

·Leading cluster initiatives to exploit the cross-disciplinary activities inherent in the Harwell Campus and across Oxfordshire
·Promoting the offer of the HealthTec Cluster and sector locally, nationally, and internationally
·Building links with the broad range of multidisciplinary stakeholders locally to support the role of Oxfordshire in increasing the competitiveness of the UK in Health Tech business.
·Working with the Harwell Campus Business Development Director to manage the overall implementation of Campus strategic partnerships, programmes and events linked to HealthTec life sciences activities on the Campus.
·Articulating the HealthTec Cluster, and the wider Oxfordshire Health and Life Sciences sector offer to businesses that are contemplating growing or investing via event attendance and managing the generation of leads from this, from inception through to delivery of an agreed development, partnering and funding plan.
Person Specification:
·Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
·Demonstrated understanding of the health and life sciences sector, services and applications.
·Experience in the implementation of development strategies and in the implementation of collaborative programmes and working across public and private sectors.
·Excellent knowledge of the SME community.
·Excellent knowledge of the investment landscape and mechanisms in the UK and internationally. Able to support development of new strategies, concepts, solutions and ideas in response to emerging issues of importance to the organization.
·Evidence of effective communication skills (oral and written) delivering complex messages to a wide range of audiences.
·Clear and effective negotiation, influencing & networking skills with a demonstrative ability to influence the thinking and actions of others at all levels.
·Excellent project management skills with experience of the whole project lifecycle including appraisals and finance.
·Ability to quickly learn and understand new and cross-cutting technologies. Self-motivated, pro-active and innovative with excellent planning and organisational skills. Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information a professional manner.
