Resettlement Manager Jobs

To provide safety planning, support, advice and assistance to children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and are staying in the refuge.

The work will focus on preventing domestic abuse by providing support and facilitating safe space for children and young people and peer support networks in the refuge and supporting children and young people to keep safe in/maintain their refuge accommodation

The post-holder will work to empower and support children to make positive choices.

To establish resettlement services to support women and children to move on from refuge accommodation.

The post-holder work as part of the refuge team, with clients who live in the refuge after being referred via the Front Door Service.

To participate in the delivery of the on-call out of hours service on a rota basis.

As a Resettlement Worker you will be supporting homeless women to gain the skills needed in order to live independently; our clients are expected to be with us for no more than 2 years and the main route into independent living will be PRS (Private Rented Sector). You will be carrying out a variety of workshops to support the clients to gain the skills needed and use our internal and external partners to help our clients get back into work or education. You will also be supporting the women to understand financial responsibilities, paying rent, bills, council tax and applying for benefits.

You will need to be someone who can work with other people unconditionally, who has an understanding of the challenges of homelessness and can work without judgement. You will need to be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills and able to work well with others. You will be part of a fantastic team, being one of five Resettlement Workers holding a caseload of women, with the focus on resettlement and preparing for independence.

This role is part of a much larger Project, so here you have the opportunity to work alongside and support your colleagues working with our women focusing on reflection, recovery, training, employment at all stages of their journey out of homelessness.

Salary

£33,158 per annum

Hours

Average 40 hours a week on a five-week rota. Normal working pattern will be working across early and late shifts & working 2 weekends out of 5. Working hours and rotas are subject to change by the organisation as required, based on operational/service need, though we try not to do this frequently. Some flexibility in working hours is expected.

Pension

The employee will be enrolled into a pension scheme providing the post holder meets the criteria for eligibility. Minimum pension contributions will be paid by the employer for you if you are eligible.

Annual Leave

28 days per year, inclusive of bank holidays. Rising by 1 day per year of service to a maximum of 33 days, inclusive of bank holidays. As the Project is 24/7, this role will require some weekend and bank holiday working, as per service need.

DBS

An enhanced DBS check required and compliance with Church Army’s safeguarding policies. Safeguarding training will be required.

Occupational Requirement

Due to the responsibilities of the role, there is an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder is female.

The Marylebone Project is based over two sites, 100m apart, up to 7 floors, and the job regularly involves walking throughout and between both sites. The postholder must be able to access all areas of the Project, and may be required to do so quickly in the event of an emergency. There is also a requirement to travel across London for work related purposes. The ability to undertake these physical aspects of the role and to carry smaller items are required as essential.

About the role:

As a Resettlement Worker and Domestic Abuse Specialist, you will work in person and remotely with clients who have support needs, in particular, those who are survivors of domestic abuse. In conjunction with other members of the Partnership, you will support our clients to engage with services and find accommodation solutions. You will work in a person-centered way to get the best prevention, relief and support outcomes for the client.

Main duties:

• To work with clients with support needs, to engage with their prevention, relief or advice goals by; Agreeing with them a support plan to deliver the actions identified in the Personalised Housing Plan. 
• Undertaking specific short term interventions to progress a client’s prevention or relief goals, including providing advice and support to enable individuals to improve their health and wellbeing. 
• Providing advice and signposting to support clients to access relevant housing and wider support services. 
• Working in partnership with RMG Caseworkers to deliver holistic housing and support service. 
• Providing support to clients to access private rented and supported accommodation options. 
• Referring to specialist internal and external support services as appropriate, including health, addiction and employment services.

General responsibilities:

• With your line manager, to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage and the HSS Partnership. 
• To participate in internal/external meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary. 
• To participate in regular supervision, reflective practice and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring an Area Manager to provide management and oversight for services which span across the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC). Our services provide 154 units of accommodation to people experiencing homelessness and have complex needs. The services are 24 hour supported accommodation sites. You will have the overall responsibility to deliver the highest standards of service quality, performance and improvements across your services through excellent leadership and embodiment of our SIG values.

As the Area Manager, you will lead the team to deliver exemplar Trauma Informed support to our residents and participants. The current team you will directly manage:

Financial Management

• Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
• Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
• Maintain financial management within the service.

Other

• Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

ABOUT THE SERVICE

Synergy, Brent is a Housing Related Support (HRS) Service for a range of vulnerable people who have been or are at risk of homelessness. The age eligibility criteria for the service is adults between the ages of 18 to 60, who are identified to have low/medium support needs. Some of the needs we support are:

• Single homeless between ages of 18 to 60
• Socially excluded individuals
• Ex-Offenders
• People with substance misuse
• Mental Health (Low)
• Learning disability (Low/Medium)
• Women who have come from domestic abuse environments and situations who may need low level support as part of their resettlement following a move on from a refuge or other safe domestic abuse supported accommodation.

• Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is maintained to a high standard, in line with SIG’s property standards and meets all legal and statutory health and fire safety requirements to operate safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Provide support in setting the service’s budget and reviewing monthly management accounts; manage set budgets effectively and ensure resources are maximized.
• Maintain financial management within the service, including but not limited to, invoice management, arrears management, management of petty cash, and expense claims.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contract Management and Internal Auditing; Ensure due diligence is carried out and records are well maintained.
• Administration duties will vary, including operating online systems and ensuring correct processes are followed alongside GDPR and confidentiality.
• Other duties may include but are not limited to, maintaining clean and tidy environments, removing rubbish, ordering supplies, arranging in house events and activities and other general on-site duties.

• Lead in all elements of the bidding process which includes writing competitive bids within strict deadlines.
• Identify, research, and communicate opportunities and needs across the organisation, working proactively with colleagues at all levels to identify fundable initiatives.
• Host internal and external briefings and liaise with relevant teams to develop compelling bids which are fit for purpose, realistic, and aligned with organisational needs and aims.
• Lead the development of specific bid responses which includes the structure, content, and responses. Ensure tenders are submitted on time and achieve the highest scores by the evaluator(s).
• Develop and manage an internal network of subject matter experts and bring them into the development and writing process as required.

• Ability and willingness to travel and attend market engagement events and to visit services to gain greater understanding of what SIG offers and to inform teams of relevant tender responses

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Compliance, Risk and Audit to join the wider Compliance, Audit and Risk team at SIG! You will have the overall responsibility of keeping participants, residents, and staff safe. The team manages the development, monitoring, and reporting of several areas including but not limited to accidents, incidents, and near misses (AINMs), safety reviews, safeguarding, whistleblowing, complaints, policy and procedure, health and safety, internal audit, business continuity planning and data protection.

As The Head of Compliance, Risk and Audit, you are the lynchpin of the wider team, linking strategic vision with solid and accountable implementation. OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Line Management and leadership throughout employee lifecycle this includes; Recruitment, Onboarding, Inductions, training, support and supervision, relations, wellbeing support, and other areas.
• Formalise Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) to monitor objectives.
• Provide both line management and professional consulting using best available forums and mechanisms, including meetings, support effective teamwork and communication. • Deputise for the Director as required.

Safeguarding, Audit, and Compliance

• Oversee the compliance audits across departments and services, providing support, and follow up with operational teams on a regular basis.
• Oversee the Safeguarding infrastructure, deputising for the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) as necessary. Oversee complaints and other processes and develop these to ensure they are safe, fair, equitable, and fit for purpose.
• Support services with commissioner led quality assurance framework (QAF) inspections and those registered with the CQC to maintain their portfolios and ensure they are ready for inspection at any time to retain their registrations.
• Promote and support a positive whistleblowing culture, assist Champions, People and Culture, managers and the audit and compliance team on concerns raised and ensuring the whistleblower is protected.

Reporting and Analysis

• Attend and develop AINMs review meetings for maximum impact in terms of positive safety culture. Ensure the lessons learned from AINMs reviews, safety reviews, and safeguarding concerns are shared and feedback loops are closed.
• Review the collation and analysis of AINMs and Safeguarding alerts, developing the Audit and Compliance team, as well as other operational teams in reflection and root cause analysis

Data Protection

• Monitor the use of external data protection and compliance partners to ensure we maintain ICO requirements and maintain our Data Security Protection Toolkit Certification.
• Monitor and ensure integrity in document control, policy, and procedures as they are developed, reviewed, and published.
• Understand and support an Information Security infrastructure alongside additional teams in the organisation and support Managers and teams with training and challenges where necessary.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. Please refer to JDPS attached for more info

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience in complaints and incident handling, safeguarding, data protection, and audits
• Proven experience in governance systems and structures which can include auditing, risk management, investigations, complaint handling, policy, procedure, and report writing

• Background in health, social care, criminal justice, and/or supported housing systems

About this exciting opportunity
The focus of this key role will be to manage the data team to support colleagues across one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance Benefit and Debt (FBD) in Wales. We will expect you to monitor and manage the receipt of referrals from Probation through the Customer Approved System (CAS) and the CAS itself to ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales, providing regular activity reports to the FBD Contract Manager.

We are hiring a Mental Health Floating Support Coordinator to support our Luton Service which delivers support to individuals living within the community who have support needs pertaining to their mental health and wellbeing. About the role:

We are excited to be taking the lead in the London Whole Housing Service Partnership (LWHSP) which will address and enhance the pathways of housing support for women experiencing domestic abuse, from removing them from immediate harm, to enabling recovery and resettlement across all levels of need. The LWHSP are seeking to build on our delivery across 11 East and West London boroughs of the Whole Housing Approach (WHA).

The Housing IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will specialise in working with clients for whom housing, and risk of tenancy breakdown is a factor. You will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. You will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to work as part of Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About You:

As a Housing IDVA, you will need to have a degree of flexibility for colocation work across London boroughs; providing support to women who have experienced domestic violence, focusing on individuals with housing or tenancy issues. Working in our fast-paced crisis intervention, advocacy and support service, you’ll ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. You will have your own caseload of survivors and will focus on working with those aged 18 and over who access our domestic abuse service. 

You will bring experience in providing independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women who approach housing advice and assessment for help. Ideally experience in working with housing service providers, and advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies. You will have the ability to develop individual safety and support plans in-line with the clients’ needs and the risks they face.

The post holder will be flexible and skilled, with an essential interest in and experience of working with migrant and refugee clients, many of whom have additional complex needs. You will work closely with our immigration caseworker manager to provide one-to-one specialist immigration advice and casework to migrant and refugee clients in Brighton & Hove and across East and West Sussex in the areas of immigration & asylum up to OISC L2. We are currently the only free, Level 2-accredited, year-round provider of out-of-scope immigration advice on the South Coast, and increasing local immigration capacity is critical to address growing demand and changing demographics in the region. Our current core caseload is largely non-EEA nationals whose immigration cases are out of scope of legal aid. However we are also seeing and will continue to see new arrivals and emerging needs in the region including Afghans resettled under the ARAP and ACRS schemes, Sudanese evacuees, EEA nationals who still have not registered for pre-settled or settled status, and an increasing number of both newly arrived and established asylum seekers placed in emergency (‘contingency’) and dispersal Home Office accommodation.

The balance of time spent between different client groups and cases will therefore need to be responsive to the changes we see in the city and region. Many of our clients also have complex additional needs including health and homelessness and the post holder will be expected to liaise closely with our generalist caseworkers and external providers to ensure that people’s holistic needs are met.

You will work as part of a small, supportive advice and casework team that also includes two generalist advice caseworkers, an employability caseworker, a groupwork facilitator and four dedicated resettlement caseworkers who are supporting newly resettled refugee families mainly from Syria and Afghanistan.

Regular supervision and support and in-house and on-the-job training will be provided, as well as external training on specific issues where needed. However you will need to be ready to step immediately into a busy advice environment with the necessary confidence, skills and knowledge to begin to deliver advice and casework and pick up an existing caseload.

Ideally you will already be OISC L2-accredited, but if only L1-accredited you must be willing to work towards accreditation within the 6-month probationary period.

Homeless Advice and Support Worker

Our client, a leading homelessness charity based in east London are looking for an Advice and Support Worker to work in a busy homeless day centre. Due to a company restructure a position has become available to work in a team of Assessment and Advice Workers in the assessment and signposting of clients experiencing homeless clients with high support needs to relevant support services in the borough.

Candidates for this role will need:

- Extensive housing knowledge and knowledge of the entitlement homeless clients have under different housing laws/ acts

- Experience of working with the homeless

- Experience of working in a homeless assessment capacity

- Resettlement experience and knowledge of housing options

+++ DBS within 12 months of issue or on the online update service +++

Candidate duties:

- Offering advice and guidance on housing and resettlement related issues to clients accessing the service

- Overseeing casework delivery to clients

- Presenting clients with housing options

- Assisting clients to obtain their welfare, housing and related rights

- Referring clients on to relevant specialist support agencies for their needs

- Accurate recording of data into CHAIN

- Liaising with external agencies on behalf of clients
