We are looking for a Lead Data Software Developer to lead our technical delivery and have oversight of our Data Engineering work.
The role:
You will lead the technical delivery and oversight of our Data Engineering work including the continued development, maintenance, reporting and support of FoE’s data assets.
On a day-to-day basis, you will oversee the management of our data model, including the import, export and integration of data with third parties.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- You will oversee internal and external software development relating to data, using an Agile, iterative approach and seeking frequent customer involvement in changes.
- Lead on the technical aspects of our organisational data strategy, working with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that data enables our work
- Contributing to data-driven decision-making processes, and collaborating cross-functionally with teams to address complex organisational challenges
- Use software development best practices to ensure the well-managed delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of our data systems. This includes our CRM, Data Warehouse and data flows to and from other systems and third parties.
- Improving the quality of changing processes through effective code reviews, coaching and training for team members, and ongoing monitoring and rectification of existing processes
The team:
You will be part of the Data and Applications team, consisting of a Data and Applications Product Owner, two Business Application Specialists, yourself and a Data Software Developer. You will assist in developing and delivering the organisational data strategy, supporting projects relating to data improvement across the organisation, ensuring stakeholders and key users are involved in its planning and assisting with the prioritisation of the Data Engineering workload.

Our Volunteer Experience Team supports all administration activities relating to volunteering good practice throughout the SSAFA volunteer journey, with a specific focus on recruitment and retention of volunteers.
You will regularly communicate and engage with a range of stakeholders across the organisation to enable a smooth-flowing volunteer recruitment process and ongoing support to volunteer teams, contributing to the creation of a positive volunteering experience. Excellent interpersonal skills are at the core of this role along with good communication skills, comfortable communicating by email, phone and face-to-face via MS teams. On top of this you will need to demonstrate an ability to use IT software systems such as Microsoft Office and database systems to ensure information is processed in an accurate and timely way across SSAFA’s systems.

Work with the Trustees to devise and lead new fundraising initiatives that fulfil the objectives of the Trust's Fundraising Strategy and annual income budget, with particular focus on regular giving across all alumni, gifts from high-net-worth individuals, and legacies. This will involve:

However, the Trust's communications need to be improved in order to increase the numbers of donors who provide sustained financial support and inspire all donors to raise their level of donations. Continually find opportunities to engage new donors and ensure clear consistent messaging.
• Manage and maintain donor data
The Trust needs to maintain a full and accurate database of all donors and fundraising activities to support long-term tracking and inform future fundraising. This also requires networking among alumni and being vigilant to changes in alumni data.
• Research and approach alumni whose connection with the Trust has lapsed
Continue to grow the active network through researching and motivating dormant and lapsed alumni to reconnect with the Trust.

• Ensure long-term donor connection
Communicate with all donors to demonstrate the impact they can make by showcasing the current and long-term outcome of programs. Deliver a diverse selection of communications to engage different audiences, with a clear plan for all members of the network. Ensure donors are connected to the Trust, value the Trust's activities and actively help fund opportunities.
• Reporting to the Trustees
Create an annual donor impact report to the Trustees, and other stakeholders such as alumni, that delineates donor statistics, reviews communications and events that have taken place during the past year and identifies potential prospects and events for developing in the coming year. Also provide a lower-level oral report of fundraising activities and communications to the Trustees at their quarterly meetings.
• Deliver income growth target
Acquire enough new donations to meet agreed annual income growth targets set by the Trustees.

Robertson Bell is exclusively partnering with the British Medical Association (BMA) in their search for a Group VAT Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. The BMA is the trade union and professional body for doctors in the UK. They represent, support and negotiate on behalf of all UK doctors and medical students.
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Group VAT Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that the BMA Group (BMA and BMJPG) properly accounts for VAT and meets their statutory return, including overseas equivalents. You will proactively ensure that the finance systems and internal processes across the group are compliant and will manage relationships with external advisors and HMRC, as the organisation’s VAT Subject Matter Expert.

The key duties of the role are as follows:
- Responsible for submission of accurate and timely statutory VAT returns (and international equivalents) for the Group.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis that supports the VAT return submission.
- Undertake annual reviews of the VAT position, including any exemptions applied during the year.
- Proactively ensure that the finance systems and internal processes across the Group are compliant with the required tax legislation and remain alert to any future changes.
- Proactively manage the relationship with external advisors and HMRC.
- Liaise with Group Auditors, providing support and information for financial audits, preparation of financial statements and other requests.
- Compile and communicate appropriate tax guidance and training wherever needed within the group, liaising with external advisors as necessary.
- Provide non-finance managers with insight, creativity and support whilst new business proposals are developed for proposed new income streams
To be successful as a Group VAT Accountant you'll ideally have:
- Accounting Qualification (CCAB) (essential)
- Significant experience in VAT within a commercial organisation (essential)
- Previous experience of working in a VAT compliance role (essential)
- Knowledge of applying VAT law and how it affects corporations.
- Knowledge and understanding of UK, EU and global VAT compliance issues

About the role:
Respect is seeking two Helplines Team Leaders. You will be the main point of contact for the team of Advisors and provide line management support along with other focused meetings that guide their work with service users.
You will manage concerns raised by Advisors and make decisions on safety actions, and deal with complaints. You will oversee the implementation of a rota system that maximises resource capacity at peak call times to meet high demands. Work collaboratively with partner agencies that deliver programmes of support for both male victims and perpetrators, and set up signposting and referral processes that supports our work.

- At least two years’ experience of working on complex cases in a multi-agency environment and working with other professionals/agency to manage risk and safeguard vulnerable adults and children
- An understanding of the root causes of domestic abuse, both individually and societal, and its effects on victims, in particular male victims
- An understanding of the help-seeking barriers for male victims of domestic abuse
- Ability to lead a team using motivational strategies that inspire and create a positive working atmosphere
- A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and an approach that centres survivors, in particular Black and minoritised survivors.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role builds on the work of our Feminist Green New Deal project. The Feminist Green New Deal puts the needs and priorities of women, racialised and marginalised groups at the heart of all climate policy and action and advocates for a care-led green recovery from our multiple crises of climate breakdown and inequality. The role will continue to develop our Feminist Green New Deal work engaging new audiences, stakeholders and writing new policy papers.
As a Feminist Climate Justice Policy Campaigner you will make connections with policy makers, government departments, NGOs and influencers, bringing an intersectional feminist lens to these spaces. You will need to keep up to speed with UK climate policies and how these impact women.
Wen works at the grassroots and policy level ensuring that grassroots perspectives are part of and shape climate policy making so a key part of the role will be linking these two levels. You will work closely with our Climate Sisters programme and the Tower Hamlets Food Partnership which inform our Feminist Green New Deal policy asks and campaigns, advocating for inclusive climate policy rooted in the priorities of women, particularly racialised and marginalised groups. We are looking to recruit a policy campaigner with in-depth knowledge of the policy systems and strategic thinking about how to advocate for feminist climate justice at local, regional and national level in the UK working in collaboration with others.

Bring an intersectional feminist climate justice lens to policy makers and debates with a focus on climate, health, food justice and environmental policies

Work collaboratively with Wen’s Climate Sisters team to make strong connections between the grassroots and policy, drafting and devising policy responses to influence government climate policy

Develop strategic partnerships and relationships with MPs, government departments, All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs), Ministers, Select Committees and key organisations in this field
