Shop Manager
Service: Relate at Family Action

We are looking for a talented Shop Manager who is an enthusiastic self-starter, with a passion for charity retail, to manage our Warwick shop on a full time (37.5 hours per week) basis.
Who we are
Relate is a leading relationships service, offering counselling, information, mediation and support to individuals, couples and families from all backgrounds and sexualities, at all stages of life. We also provide expert training for relationship support practitioners.
Relate is now part of the family charity, Family Action. Supporting people through change, challenge or crisis, we protect children, support young people and adults, and offer direct, practical help to families and communities. It’s what we’ve done for over 150 years. We see first-hand the power of family to shape lives, for better or worse, so we speak up for the importance of family in national and local policymaking, amplify family voices and represent the changing needs of families in the UK today. With Relate at Family Action, we work to support the creation of secure foundations for children and young people, and safe, supportive relationships for all.
We currently manage 11 shops located within 5 regions across the UK. Our shops generate income to support the work of Relate. The shops are managed by paid Shop Managers, supported by Assistant Shop Managers/Sessional Workers (Retail Assistants) and our amazing Shop Volunteers.
What are we looking for?

You will be responsible for the creation of a warm and welcoming environment for customers, volunteers and donors, with a view to maximising sales, profits and Gift Aid to support the work of Relate at Family Action.
The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly for 37.5 hours each week (5 days per week including Weekends) across a 7 day trading week, Monday to Sunday.

The postholder will work within our trading subsidiary, Living Streets Services Ltd, helping deliver both commercial goals and charitable purpose.
What you’ll be doing:
·Act as the first point of contact for sales enquiries via phone and email.
·Support the full sales process, from preparing quotes and proposals to managing client accounts.
·Assist with order processing, fulfilment, invoicing and resolving delivery or service issues.
·Maintain accurate CRM/database records and ensure smooth communication with clients.
·Help organise outreach events and support the coordination of our annual WOW badge competition.
·Deliver exceptional service to schools, local authorities and other stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
·Experienced in handling enquiries and providing administrative or sales support.
·A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
·Highly organised with great attention to detail and time management.
·Confident with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ideally familiar with CRM/e-commerce systems.

The role

Location - Supporting Scope shops based in the North and Wales. It is therefore essential that you can travel within this geographical area.
We are looking to appoint a Shop Cover Manager (known internally as Divisional Support Lead) supporting Scope shops in the North and Wales. These include: Bramhall, Buxton, Cambridge, Chester, Colwyn Bay, Halesowen, Kenilworth, Leek, Liverpool, Northfield, Northampton, Pwllheli, Sale, Shirley (Birmingham) and Shrewsbury.
This is an exciting role working closely with the fantastic shop teams to enable our shops to trade when there is absence. The role will play a key role in maintaining and improving the running of our shops day to day and enable us to maximise sales and profit.
Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! From generating and processing stock to designing an eye-catching window display or recruiting and training our wonderful volunteer team you’ll find every day challenging but extremely rewarding. You will have relevant experience in retail but a great attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.
About you
As Divisional Support Lead you’ll be passionate about retail and have a love of fashion with experience of running a shop, or you’ll be looking for a management role as the next step in your career and be comfortable working closely various shop teams.
To be successful in this role
· You’ll need a commercial, can-do attitude and always put the customer’s needs first.
· You’ll be a dedicated team player and be able to work with different retail shop teams and volunteers
· Possess a strong work ethic
· Have a great attention to detail and have a creative eye for displays.

Shop hours
It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day. So, some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. Our full-time hours are 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.
