About the oppurtunity:
You will help drive the quality and impact of our key stage 2 (KS2) and key stage 4 (KS4) maths tutoring programmes through subject-specific training of volunteer tutors, and by advising and supporting our (mostly) non-teaching staff members who manage these volunteer tutors day to day.

You will also observe and give feedback to volunteer tutors delivering maths tuition, and deliver general training for new volunteers, so that they are confident and effective in taking part in our tutoring programmes.

Specific responsibilities relating to the role:

Supporting the delivery of our maths curriculum: 

• Design and deliver online maths-focused training for volunteer tutors so that subject knowledge is secure within the tutor community.
• Provide advice and support, including some direct tutor communications, on subject-specific matters for Action Tutoring staff who manage volunteer tutors.
• Maintain existing tutoring GCSE and KS2 maths curriculum resources to ensure volunteer tutors have high quality materials to use in sessions.
• Support Action Tutoring’s Programme Department to provide and respond to requests for additional materials for tutoring sessions, particularly maths sessions.
• Support with creation of additional maths resources on an ad hoc basis as required, applying Action Tutoring’s pedagogical approach and standards for diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Format any newly generated maths curriculum content for printing.
• Reformat maths curriculum resources for online delivery of tutoring sessions.
• Engage in learning and development opportunities in order to keep knowledge about the expectations set out in the maths national curriculum (KS2 and KS4) and the main exam boards up to date.

Quality assuring tutoring delivery:

• Observe several virtual tutoring sessions a week. Make detailed and unbiased notes on tutor skills, craft empathetic constructive feedback in emails.
• Support our programme delivery team to craft communications and feedback to tutors.
• Produce ‘quality tips’ and resources for tutors and staff.
• Work with Action Tutoring’s volunteer engagement team to feedback trends so that the quality assurance process at the tutor application stage is as strong as possible.

Delivering volunteer tutor training:

• Support the Training Manager by delivering up to four virtual initial tutor training sessions a week during peak months, presenting Action Tutoring’s established training content.
• Support the Training Manager by contributing updates to tutor training content.
• Create content for tutor CPD materials to support with maths tutoring.

Person specification

Qualifications criteria: 

• Qualified secondary school teacher of Mathematics
• At least two year’s teaching experience in English state schools with an understanding of the barriers facing disadvantaged pupils

As Senior Finance Officer, you will play a vital role at World Heart Beat, ensuring the effective day-to-day management of finances, financial administration, and bookkeeping, as well as informing future business planning. You will work with key personnel across the team, providing guidance and leadership in relation to budget management and financial information to support funding applications and stewardship. You will also provide excellent reporting to support the Executive and Board.

It is an exciting time for the charity, following the opening of World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens in 2023, our second site for music teaching, which includes a café, concert hall and recording studio. The operation of two sites has increased our activities and overheads, making the Senior Finance Officer role even more crucial. We have also established a CIC through which new earned income streams are channelled. The Senior Finance Officer will have the opportunity to develop and shape financial processes and contribute to forward planning.

Evidence Synthesis Manager

The Evidence Synthesis Manager is a crucial role at the College as you will lead on the project management, delivery and undertaking of existing or new systematic reviews, helping to ensure that the RCPCH continues to lead the way in children’s health.

As Evidence Synthesis Manager you will lead on the development of systematic review protocols, including search strategies and inclusion criteria, in liaison with key stakeholders, whilst providing technical expertise and training on evidence-based methodologies (e.g. critical appraisal, search strategy development), for clinicians, staff and members of guideline development groups.

Reporting to the Head of Research and Evidence, you will lead on reviewing and critically evaluating a variety of evidence to support systematic reviews, ensuring that RCPCH internal procedures and regulated methodological requirements are being followed.

Taking responsibility for Quality Assuring the findings of systematic review outputs which are communicated to, implemented and published by the Child Protection Sub-Committee and relevant clinical leads, you will work with the relevant stakeholders to produce communication plans, promoting and disseminating findings from guidelines and systematic reviews.

You will also be expected to regularly contribute to journal articles within the field of paediatric research.

Suitably qualified with a research methodology element or with equivalent work experience, you should have proven technical expertise in systematic review methodology and critical appraisal of studies and have a background of working with clinicians or academics in the NHS or a similar regulated environment.

With demonstrable knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including clinical guidelines, you will be able to provide training and support in critical appraisal skills and/or data extraction processes.

You should be able to assimilate and report complex medical information on child health research quickly and clearly to different audiences, whilst also having strong writing skills and experience of writing reports of a medical or scientific nature or having published or co-authored in academic publications.

The ability to undertake research of highly sensitive topics - this will involve being exposed to research into issues relating to child protection - is essential.

A project management qualification and experience of evaluation methodologies would be desirable. Familiarity with clinical guideline development methodology along with familiarity with carrying out statistical analysis using SPSS, STATA and/or Review Manager would also be desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• To develop, implement and manage regional (community) fundraising the associated income and expenditure budgets, ensuring that all budget targets are achieved 
• To evaluate regional fundraising plans on a regular basis and make changes when necessary

Hours and Benefits:

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. You will work Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required. 

This role offers hybrid work, working 3 days in the office at our Hospices in Sutton Scotney, and 2 days remotely. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel around the region to meet community leaders, donors and supporters. 

Salary - up to £30,750 FTE, dependent upon experience.

HIV Peer Support Worker

About Trade

Trade Sexual Health (Trade for short) is a small health and wellbeing charity based in Leicester. We currently have seven staff and more than 40 volunteers.

Trade began as a grassroots gay community response to HIV in Leicester in the late 1980s. Throughout the 1990s, Trade worked in creative ways to spread information about sexual health and HIV prevention to gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men in the city (GBMSM).

Trade has been a registered charity since 2000. Over the last 25 years, the core of our work has been focused on improving the sexual health of gay and bisexual men across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. We have always taken a holistic approach to understanding and addressing the range of issues that might impact on gay and bisexual men’s capacity to look after their sexual health. As a result, we started a counselling service – Approach Counselling – to support community members to improve their mental wellbeing. We now draw on this experience to tackle wider health inequalities in relation to sexual health and HIV, and to provide peer support for anyone living with HIV in the areas where we work. For a small charity, Trade has always ‘punched above its weight’ and we have a national profile for the innovative sexual health work we do.

We currently hold contracts to deliver sexual health promotion and HIV prevention outreach in the City of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to LGBTQ+ people, asylum-seekers, and a range of racialised communities that experience significant inequalities in relation to their sexual health.

We have a history of providing peer support to people living with HIV and this is now becoming a growing strand of our work. In addition to the HIV Peer Support contract in Northamptonshire (which this post relates to), we expect to be delivering enhanced HIV peer support across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver first line peer support to people living with HIV, of all genders and backgrounds, in Northamptonshire. The postholder will spend most of their working week embedded within the HIV clinics in Northampton and Kettering. They will ensure that people who have been recently diagnosed, or are struggling with their diagnosis, and those re-engaging with their HIV care feel supported and have the information they need to live well and thrive with HIV.

The postholder will be responsible for:

· Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), bringing their own knowledge and experience to that work.

· Work with a small group of volunteer peer mentors from the clinics to support people living with HIV

· Help recruit new volunteers and ensure that patients needing ongoing peer mentoring are matched to the most suitable volunteer.

· Help people living with HIV to develop self-management strategies, deal with stigma, reduce social isolation and improve their wellbeing.

· Develop a catalogue of services, groups and support in the area where people can be signposted to for further wellbeing support either in addition to or instead of peer mentoring.

· Help people to stay engaged with their HIV treatment and care, improving antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence, and consequently ensuring ongoing viral suppression. 

Job Activities

The post-holder will:

· Normally spend at least one day a week in the HIV clinic at Kettering General Hospital and one day at Northampton General Hospital. Some travel to other sites may be required.

· Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including nursing staff, doctors, clinical psychologists, and pharmacists within the HIV clinics, bringing their own knowledge and experience to that work.

· Triage new patients requiring peer support to understand what specific issues they are facing and the support they need.

· Work with a small group of volunteer peer mentors from the clinics to support people living with HIV. The volunteer peer mentors will be trained and managed by our partner organisation, Northamptonshire Carers, but the postholder will help recruit new volunteers in clinic, ensure that patients needing ongoing peer mentoring are matched to the most suitable volunteer, and help manage booking appointments between mentors and mentees.

· Help people living with HIV to develop self-management strategies, deal with stigma, reduce social isolation and improve their wellbeing.

· Help people to stay engaged with their HIV treatment and care, improving antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence, and consequently ensuring ongoing viral suppression. 

· Refer/signpost people into specialist services such as mental health services, drug and alcohol services, and services offering advice on housing, benefits and immigration issues.

· Support the eight standards listed in the British HIV Association Standards of Care for people living with HIV.

· Follow the National Standards in HIV Peer Support guidance and its four standards.

· Contribute to the development of innovative ways of delivering HIV peer support appropriate to the local context.

· Keep accurate, confidential and secure records of all peer support referrals and interactions.

· Contribute to the compilation of quarterly monitoring reports about our performance for the Integrated Care Board commissioning team for Northamptonshire.

· Develop and maintain professional working relationships with partners

· Represent Trade in a professional manner at relevant forums and meetings

Accountability / Reports:

The Director of Finance & Operations will direct, administer and coordinate the financial, governance, HR, IT and operational activities of the charity in accordance with company policies and the Strategic Plan established by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Board of Trustees, and to assure the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the planning, delivery and reporting of these activities.

Salary: £46,000-£51,000 per annum depending on experience.

Provide support to Companions using a person-centred approach, both emotionally and practically, so they can live and work in the Emmaus Community. Where appropriate, in accordance with Companion requests, provide a move-on pathway that enables them to be ready to live independently.

Role Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operation of the business centre. This includes oversight of facilities management, health & safety, lettings, team leadership, and budget management. The role ensures the business centre is well-maintained, tenants are satisfied, and operational performance is continuously improved. Reporting to senior leadership, the Operations Manager contributes to strategic planning, drives efficiencies through systems and digital tools, and plays a vital role in sustaining high occupancy and tenant retention.

Role Responsibilities:

Centre Operations Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business centre, ensuring all facilities are well-maintained, compliant, and running smoothly.
• Ensure the lettings process is well-managed and aligned with policies.
• Implement and monitor operational procedures to improve efficiency and service quality, including opportunities to digitise processes and services.
• Contribute to strategic operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and resolve operational challenges in collaboration with senior management.
• Report regularly on KPIs, occupancy, operational issues, and budget status to senior management.

Building Maintenance

• Oversee the upkeep and preventative maintenance of the property, ensuring high facility standards.
• Manage and coordinate external contractors and service providers (e.g., cleaners, engineers).
• Monitor maintenance budgets and project timelines, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct regular building inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Drive sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency and waste reduction.

Health & Safety

• Ensure compliance with UK health & safety regulations, including risk assessments and fire safety.

• Maintain accurate H&S records, incident reports, and lead periodic audits.
• Support development and execution of emergency response and business continuity plans.

Lettings and Lease Management

• Oversee the Assistant Lettings Manager and monitor the development and execution of the lettings process from enquiry to move-in, including viewings, negotiations, and onboarding and offboarding of tenants.
• Check we are maintaining up-to-date tenancy records,
• Draft lease documentation and ensure timely renewals and support the rollout of any rent reviews.
• Carry out twice-yearly audits of lease documentation.
• Maintain relationships with tenants to support retention and satisfaction.
• Monitor lease management by team, lease compliance and resolution of any lease-related issues.

Customer Service

• Act as a point of contact for tenants, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Foster strong relationships with tenants, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies to attract new tenants and retain existing tenants with the goal of maintaining high occupancy levels.

Financial Management

• Manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources and that projects are delivered within budget.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to secure cost-effective deals.
• Ensure tenant arrears are regularly monitored and managed.

Line Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage the lettings and maintenance teams, ensuring high performance and productivity.
• Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
• Handle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of staff members as needed.

Essential Skills / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Project Management, or other relevant fields.
• At least 2 years’ experience in operations work.

Advocacy Support Cymru (ASC) is a registered charity with offices in Cardiff and Swansea. We provide Independent Mental Health and Mental Capacity Advocacy Services across most of South Wales, employing 44 employees.

About the role

The post holder will provide support to clients who lack capacity and to implement the safeguards of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 or the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. They will provide non-instructed advocacy (NIA) support to people who lack capacity to make specific decisions and who have no-one else to support them. The successful candidate will travel efficiently and effectively within the Advocacy Support Cymru area of operation.

This role will operate within the Hywel Dda University Health Board Area.

About you

You will have experience working with vulnerable adults and/or children, either within health or social care setting, or indirectly, for example as a carer. You will understand and have experience of working effectively in an intra-agency context with Health and Social Care Professionals. Knowledge of the role of the Independent Mental Capacity Advocate as defined in the Mental Capacity Act 2005 is essential.

Previous direct experience in the role would be preferred but training will be provided.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a forward-thinking local authority and a committed group of partners to bring about meaningful change in one of London’s most diverse and vibrant boroughs.

THSORT’s structure compromises of a Service Manager, 2 Deputy Managers, 6 Outreach Workers (some with specialist lead roles), 2 Navigators, Complex Needs Worker and an Information and Referrals worker. We support people who are rough sleeping and/or living on the streets of Tower Hamlets borough.

Your duties

As a Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for line-managing a dedicated team of outreach workers and navigators, ensuring they deliver high-quality services to individuals experiencing rough sleeping. Your leadership will be vital in driving operational effectiveness and supporting the team to engage with people who need help most.

You will work closely with local authority partners, statutory and voluntary services, and key stakeholders to ensure an integrated, person-centred approach to tackling rough sleeping. You will also contribute to the development and delivery of service strategies, bringing your expertise to enhance the partnership working ethos that is key to Tower Hamlets’ approach.

Your role will be essential in providing strategic oversight, offering guidance, and ensuring that your team operates in a safe, effective, and compassionate manner.

Work hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (Flexibility might be required at times to work outside these hours)
