ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an enthusiastic Careers Adviser to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Careers Team. In this key position, you will work at our Harris Lower Academy Wilsden in Brent Borough, supporting students to make informed, ambitious and aspirational decisions about their futures.

You will be joining an experienced and knowledgeable team of advisers, from whom you can gain advice and support. Working closely with your colleagues, you will help shape and deliver a high-impact CEIAG programme.

Whether it’s further education, apprenticeships, traineeships or employment, you’ll play a vital role in guiding students towards the post-16 and post-18 pathways that best match their goals and aspirations. MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

As part of this role, you will:

• Collaborate with Careers Leads across academies to design and implement a high-impact careers education programme aligned with the latest statutory guidance, including the enhanced Gatsby Benchmarks and each academy’s improvement priorities
• Plan and deliver engaging careers assemblies that expand students’ awareness of post-16 and post-18 pathways, alongside other relevant career-related topics
• Provide impartial, tailored career guidance through one-to-one meetings and group sessions that empower students to make informed, realistic and adaptable decisions about their futures
• Accurately record all guidance interactions and agreed actions on Unifrog, ensuring student data is kept up to date and accessible
• Offer targeted support to students navigating post-16 and post-18 transitions, including referrals to specialist services for those with additional needs, such as SEND
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, networks, and partners to enrich the careers and higher education offer and maximise student outcomes
• Track, monitor and report on student aspirations to inform strategic planning and targeted interventions
• Engage parents and carers in the careers guidance process, keeping them informed and involved in their child’s journey, including attendance at parents’ evenings
• Facilitate meaningful employer encounters that inspire students and broaden their understanding of the world of work
• Attend key events such as results days and enrolment days to provide on-the-spot careers support and guidance
• Support colleagues across the team by sharing best practice, offering shadowing opportunities and contributing to a collaborative learning culture
• Actively contribute to Careers Adviser team meetings by sharing insights, experiences or resources that enhance practice and support team development
• Provide careers-related evidence and representation during Ofsted inspections, showcasing the strength and impact of the careers provision

As Head of Media and Public Affairs you will lead, plan, develop and implement effective media and public affairs strategies to actively promote the RCPCH and its priorities for maximum influence and impact.

The Head of Media and Public Affairs is an important leadership role at the College. You will work closely with journalists and media organisations to champion the College in the media as well as securing political support for our policy messages, through stakeholder relationships within the UK Government, Whitehall and the Westminster Parliament.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Policy & External Affairs, you will manage, direct and motivate the team to successfully achieve performance goals. You will play a pivotal role in driving the College’s Westminster public affairs work to secure our advocacy goals and you will also manage the out-of-hours media rota, being flexible to be on-call to media as required. You will also take responsibility for preparing and monitoring the Media and Public Affairs team budget, ensuring that all operational expenditure is value for money.

Degree educated or with relevant professional experience you will have demonstrable experience of developing and implementing proactive media and public affairs strategies and a strong track record in leading, planning, implementing and evaluating integrated communications strategies.

With proven leadership and performance management skills, you should also have a background of working with and influencing senior managers and have proven stakeholder management skills, being able to develop and nurture high level contacts in media and government.

Experience of briefing senior staff to act as spokespeople through the media and in direct engagement with political stakeholders is essential. Direct experience of working within an organisation that delivers health or children’s services would be desirable. 

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. Job Summary

The Area Giving and Finance Advisor provides comprehensive finance support to churches within the Kensington Area, aiding them in the development of their ministries, manage Common Fund giving and to support the Area Bishop’s staff team in the management of resources including monitoring clergy post numbers, curate funding, and other financial matters. About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join ATLEU, a leading anti-trafficking and human rights charity. We are looking for an inclusive, creative, talented facilitator, with exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to be our Participation Manager.

The Participation Manager will facilitate survivors of trafficking to use their experiences to support the development of ATLEU’s work and services and to improve policy and practice across the anti-trafficking and legal advice sectors. Working with group members, this individual will be responsible for supporting the expansion of the group  (The Changemakers) and the remit of ATLEU’s participation work from January 2026 when the current projects come to a close, ensuring new members are inducted and supported to engage and lead in future projects. The overall aim of the participation and activism work is to integrate survivors at all levels within ATLEU, as well as creating a project that offers different levels of engagement, depending on the interests and capacity of individual group members.

The Participation Manager is a key member of the Rise and Lead project team, which is a groundbreaking new employment pathways project in partnership with Southeast and East Asian Centre (SEEAC) and Voice of Domestic Workers for those with experience of human trafficking and migration. 

The successful candidate will have direct experience of working with vulnerable individuals, ideally survivors of trafficking, a strong understanding of the challenges survivors face and be committed to shifting power to people with lived experience. They will have a flexible approach and understand what empowerment means in its truest sense, allowing the structure of the work to be led by the needs of the group rather than with a predetermined or fixed idea of what this will look like.

Although just a small team, ATLEU’s work has led to significant changes in law and policy. Since we were established in 2013, we have led the way in ensuring that survivors of trafficking have access to free, independent legal advice by enabling access to legal aid, across the range of issues survivors experience. For example, our litigation against the Legal Aid Agency led to their concession that legal aid provision was insufficient for victims of trafficking and an increase in the number of trafficking compensation cases that legal aid providers were contractually able to assist with each year (from 5 up to 100). Following litigation on behalf of our client LL, the Legal Aid Agency agreed that victims of trafficking were legally entitled to free immigration advice on applying for leave to remain in the UK on the basis of their trafficking experiences and publicised this entitlement.

Strategy development

1. Using the framework of ATLEU’s 5-year strategic plan, develop ATLEU’s participation strategy creating an annual plan to deliver on our organisational vision. 

2. Develop and maintain positive relationships across ATLEU’s team staying up to date with different areas of organisational work in order to create opportunities for collaboration and coproduction with the Changemakers, finding flexible and creative ways to integrate new opportunities into the annual plan. 

Developing ATLEU’s Changemakers group

3. Recruit and induct people with lived experience of trafficking to be active participants in the Changemakers.

4. To facilitate meetings of the Changemakers ensuring activities are accessible and inclusive for all participants.

5. To secure opportunities for skills and knowledge development through internal and external training.

6. Conduct needs assessments to identify safeguarding, support needs and development goals and provide practical and emotional support where required.

7. Nurturing the wellbeing and solidarity of the group, providing individual pastoral support, coordinating reflective practice sessions and group activities.

8. Review, adapt, and agree terms of reference and foundational values with the group. 

9. To manage the annual lived experience budget.
 

Building the power of survivors within ATLEU 

10. To be an effective liaison between the group and the Director, trustees and wider staff team.

11. Understanding how ATLEU works as an organisation and its key activities and facilitating regular communication between Changemakers and ATLEU’s people. 

12. Create opportunities for collaboration, co-creation and leadership for ATLEU’s Changemakers members.

13. Identifying potential opportunities for Changemakers to take on paid roles within the organisation, defining the scope of the role, recruitment/ selection of individuals for the roles, and supporting individuals to gain experience of working independently (eg. peer research training development, training delivery).

14. To take a creative and flexible approach to working with the group, to understand their priorities and goals and find ways to steer and adapt their ideas so that they can be delivered within an organisational context. 

15. Work with ATLEU’s Director, Head of Operations and People and Inclusion Manager to create pathways for people with lived experience of trafficking to participate in ATLEU’s governance and decision-making, including at trustee board level and development of funding proposals. 

16. Support the delivery of ATLEU’s Rise and Lead Fellowship project helping to create an employment pathway for people with lived experience of human trafficking and migration in the advice and anti-trafficking sector. 

17. Support the Rise and Lead Project Manager with the development of a bespoke inclusive recruitment programme and the delivery of the training fellowship, and the project monitoring and evaluation and dissemination of learning. 

Coproduction with the Changemakers

18. Working with ATLEU’s Changemakers to act as agents of change, to influence external stakeholders (e.g. anti-trafficking organisations, policy makers, parliamentarians, media) and share their expertise, whilst ensuring the necessary safeguarding is in place. 

19. To work with the Policy Manager and Communications and Public Affairs Officer to facilitate people with lived experience of trafficking to inform, shape and co-produce: 

• Training 

• Information / legal resources

• Peer Research reports

• Monitoring and evaluation (ATLEU’s services/ Rise and Lead)

20. To find ways to cultivate respect for lived experience, and encourage inclusive practices in the sector, such as through engagement with the Lived Experience Coalition

21. To take responsibility for self-development on a continuous basis, including undertaking on-the-job and other training as required. 

22. To discuss regularly with the Policy Manager your job performance and personal career development. 

23. To participate fully in ATLEU’s appraisal process.

Responsibilities

Join the Marine Society & Sea Cadets as a Safety and Assurance Officer, ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, environment (SHE), and operational compliance across our units and facilities.
You’ll lead assurance inspections, maintain compliance with legislation and organisational regulations, and support the safe management of weapons, armouries, and inshore boating activities. We're looking for an experienced Registered Practitioner Psychologist with a background in clinical psychology to join our team in Croydon. The service offers a psychologically informed environment across four sites, providing low to high support forensic mental health services to our residents with forensic mental health needs, complex conditions, and dual diagnosis. In this role, you will drive the delivery of evidence based psychological assessments and interventions aimed at the rehabilitation and reintegration of our residents into the communities. This is a creative, evolving, and impactful role which works closely with our Group Psychological Lead and wider teams to provide support to staff and at times residents to support in providing a streamlined and psychologically informed service.

Key Responsibilities include: 

• Provide advice, guidance, and support to the team with supporting our residents to overcome personal challenges and create a supportive environment

• Provide highly specialised psychological assessments for our residents with mental health and complex needs

About You

The Hub is a 365-day, out-of-hours crisis-alternative service offering a safe and supportive space for Havering residents aged 18+ who are experiencing or approaching mental health crisis or severe distress. Staff and volunteers provide compassionate support through assessments, safety planning, wellness and recovery action plans, and social prescribing, helping individuals navigate their challenges and access the right resources.
As Service Manager, you will drive the strategic growth and day-to-day operations of the Hub, ensuring high-quality service delivery aligned with contract requirements and organisational goals. You'll lead partnership development, performance monitoring, and reporting, while embedding co-production and equality strategies into the service. This role requires strong leadership, stake
holder engagement, and a commitment to continuous improvement to ensure the Hub remains responsive to community needs and integrated within the wider mental health pathway.

Here's what the team will be looking for
The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in managing services for individuals with mental health and complex needs, alongside a proven track record of leading diverse teams through all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, supervision, performance management, and resolution of HR matters. You will have strong capabilities in service performance monitoring, maintaining high standards of care, and managing complex budgets effectively.
A deep understanding of mental health crisis management, safeguarding, and community care legislation is essential, as is experience working in partnership with statutory services, particularly the NHS. You'll be confident in developing and delivering support plans, promoting services to external stakeholders, and producing high-quality written reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems is required, along with the flexibility to work primarily out of hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, to support and oversee the delivery of the Havering Reset Hub.

As part of the NFCC People, Culture and Leadership (PCL) Hub this post plays a key role in supporting and enabling fire and rescue services (FRS) to drive organisational and culture change. 

The postholder will provide comprehensive co-ordination and high-level administrative support to the PCL Hub Team and the PCL Strategic Plan, including a range of leadership development programmes and learning opportunities.They will support the PCL catalogue through the monitoring of risk/issue logs, assisting the development of new products, and co-ordinating short and long-term approaches to evaluation. 

The postholder will coordinate the establishment, delivery and maintenance of a high-quality customer service approach and appropriate levels of administrative support for all PCL Hub activities.

About the Role  

The Head of Finance will support the Director of Finance and Resources in providing strategic financial leadership across the charity. They will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure robust financial management, and deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to support decision-making. The postholder will play a key role in safeguarding the charity’s financial sustainability and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. 

Key Responsibilities  

Financial Planning 

• Preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial plans. 

• Provision of  financial analysis to inform strategic and operational decision-making. 

Financial Management & Reporting 

• Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and cash flow forecasts. 

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of year-end accounts and the coordination of external audits. 

• Provide regular financial reports and analysis in accordance with organisational timetables set by the Director of Finance & Resources. 

• Monitor restricted funds ensuring compliance with donor requirements. 

Governance & Compliance 

• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC, and other statutory requirements for filing of accounts. 

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of charity finance regulations, SORP, VAT, and tax issues relevant to the sector. 

Systems, Processes & Controls 

• Ensure that financial processes and procedures are fit for purpose, up to date and efficient. 

• Lead the development and maintenance of efficient financial systems, policies, and procedures. 

• Ensure effective internal controls are in place across the organisation to  facilitate accurate and timely delivery of reporting to support organisational decision making. 

• Oversee grant reporting and donor compliance. 

Team Leadership & Collaboration 

• Develop and support the finance team to deliver a high-quality service. 

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function. 

• Work collaboratively with non-finance managers across the organisation to build financial awareness and accountability. 

Person Specification 

Essential 

• A relevant professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). 

• Experience gained in a financial management role within a small or medium-sized organisation. 

• Experience in business planning, performance management and impact reporting.  

• Significant experience in managing a high-performance team. 

• Strong IT skills, particularly with accounting software and Excel. 

• Understanding of charity finance and accounting practices. 

• Strong understanding of charity law, governance best practices, and regulatory frameworks. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication. 
• Strong interpersonal with an ability to establish and maintain good working relationships. 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams. 

• Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.

Desirable 

• Significant experience in financial management  within the charity, not-for-profit, or public sector. 
• Experience of working with restricted funds and grant reporting. 
• Knowledge of charity tax, VAT, and fundraising income streams. 
• Experience of implementing new financial systems or process improvements.
