This role will deliver the communications strategy, further the Charity brand, and engage with our supporters and patients at the hospital, online and in the community. The role will support a range of communications activities, including digital marketing, campaigns creation, website management, production of assets and promotion of key events.

This is an extremely varied role and presents a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in the communications sector. You will have the opportunity to support the wider Business Services Department with the promotion of educational courses and international partnerships. It would suit a flexible, diligent and self-starting all-rounder with an interest in the third sector and the NHS.

About the Safeguarding Officer role:

Responsibilities as our Safeguarding Officer will include:

• Assessing and managing safeguarding allegations against those involved in the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC) and concerns about the welfare of children engaged in SCC activities
• Responding appropriately  to  concerns  affecting  a  child  and  their  safety  and  welfare  and  take  appropriate and timely action.
• Supporting,  guiding  and  coaching SCC  volunteers  to  implement  a  local  response  to  safeguarding  concerns
• Making referrals to statutory agencies e.g. Local Authority Designated Officer, Police, Children’s Services, Social Care or equivalent across the UK (including DBS, PVGS). 
• Attending strategy meetings,  networking meetings, external meetings etc. as required
• Operating on call duties out of office hours on a rota basis
• Being the Leading Officer on  safeguarding  enquiries,  including  writing  enquiry  report  in  preparation  for  enquiry  meetings,  supporting  volunteers  and  enquiry  officers  in  this  process,  reviewing  outcome  and  decision  making  in  conjunction  with  HoS/SM/Area  Officers/LADO/ Statutory agency.

• Support, guide and coach SCC volunteers to implement a local response to safeguarding concerns

Key Purpose:

Engage with staff and volunteers at a local and national level across RABI as well as with key external stakeholders and partners to influence compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures. Support the Senior Service Delivery Manager to implement RABI’s reporting through maintenance of effective internal recording and reporting systems (CPOMS). We are seeking to appoint two experienced Safeguarding Officers on a permanent contract; altogether 1.3 full-time equivalent between the two posts, with hours being negotiable with successful candidates.The post holders will have a relevant professional qualification and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of direct safeguarding practice with vulnerable adults or children or both. The successful applicants will be expected to provide effective leadership across the District to promote a culture of safeguarding, whilst supporting survivors of abuse.Working with partners from the Church’s Learning Network, the post holders will be expected to contribute to the planning and delivery of the District’s safeguarding training programme.

The post holders will be expected to be in sympathy with the aims of the Methodist Church.

Location: Home-based, own transport is essential as travel will be required region-wide.We need one member of staff to cover Cumbria and North Lancashire.

Safeguarding Officer

Specific Responsibilities

To provide ongoing strategic development, support and administration for effective safeguarding in RDA by way of:

- developing and delivering the action plan and ongoing objectives from the BEF Audit/ Framework Plan and RDA Safeguarding strategy
- continuous improvement and relevance of all Safeguarding materials and resources, to ensure RDA UK’s Safeguarding policy and statutory obligations and expectations are met, including relevant actions following BEF Safeguarding Action Team (SAT) meetings
- handling communication of Safeguarding reports, concerns and requests for guidance from the RDA UK network
- Safeguarding Case Management support to Membership Services Manager and other RDA UK Safeguarding staff, as appropriate
- working collaboratively with the RDA UK Safeguarding Lead and other relevant RDA UK staff and volunteers to plan, deliver and review projects that improve outcomes for children and adults at risk, within the RDA UK network
- liaising with and advising other members of the RDA UK team and working groups on Safeguarding best practice, policies and requirements, including specific projects or events
- dealing promptly with enquiries received from RDA Groups about policies, procedures and training requirements/ needs and responding to any feedback given
- maintenance of the Safeguarding content on the MyRDA website, to ensure that it is current, clear and relevant
- providing RDA Groups around the UK with guidance, and signposting them to relevant providers of Disclosure Checks; ensuring policies and resources are kept up to date
- coordinating the delivery of regular accredited training courses (both in person and virtual) and training/workshops, in conjunction with regional trainers and relevant external bodies
- developing, maintaining and administering Safeguarding e-learning courses and materials
- provision of accurate data analysis, recommendations, updates and case management report statistics, for RDA UK Board

- taking the lead on Group Mergers/Closures/Incorporations and providing support and signposting for advice to any new groups in the process of opening, or enquiries from those interested in setting up a new group
- annual membership and insurance payments/renewals process in March/April each year and giving interim support and guidance
- supporting delivery of the Membership Services Survey
- assisting with wider policy review/development and standardisation/tracking, both on an expected annual and as-needed basis during the year

To be pro-active in communicating with RDA groups

- Listen to the achievements and / or concerns of individual groups
- Explain the ways in which National Office can support and enable each group to flourish and meet RDA UK and wider policies and requirements
- Visit groups to build and enhance relationships with RDA volunteers, to celebrate achievements, listen to feedback and encourage good practice

We’re looking for an experienced trainer to lead on the implementation and delivery of the Learning and Development framework issued by the House of Bishops.

• Be responsible for the organisation, implementation and delivery of the national safeguarding learning and development framework  
• Provide high quality face to face and online training to office holders (Clergy, Readers, those with Permission to Officiate), employees and volunteers in the Diocese of Coventry.

Whilst we have offered a range of therapeutIc groups, workshops and 1-2-1 counselling over the years, we are currently focussing on delivering our flagship ‘Mother Nurture’ 10-week therapeutIc group for new mums, and our ‘Second Nature’ 8-week therapeutIc group for second + tIme mums across Sussex.

Our services are operated by a team of sessional qualified counsellors, and counsellors in supervised training, and work within the BACP Ethical Framework.

As the founding CEO is now moving on, we are looking to appoint a new CEO to lead us in this next season. Job Description

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

Location: Brighton and Hove. The role is expected to involve homeworking plus external delivery, although may be subject to change.

Accountable to: Board of Trustees

Direct reports: Part-tIme Administrator/Bookkeeper, part-tIme Digital and Data MarketIng Exec plus sessional delivery staff

Hours: 2-3 days per week (TBC)

Contract: One Year Fixed term contract, extension dependant on funding

Summary of post

The Chief ExecuIve is responsible for the successful operaIon and development of Release Counselling and Therapy for Women CIO, in accordance with the Charity’s Strategic Plan and policies of the Board.

Remuneration

£46,464 - £50,512 pro rata, depending on experience

Main Purpose and scope of role

1.Leadership

Provide leadership for the charity and its staff by -

• Ensure the values of the charity are embedded through the organisation fostering a positive work culture that promotes collaboration, professional development and staff well-being.
• Build and maintain key partnerships to enhance the charity’s impact and reach within the community. Including, represenIng the charity to third parIes such as, funders, the public, other sector agencies, and statutory bodies.

2.Governance & Compliance

• Work closely with the board of trustees to ensure the charity adheres to the highest levels of governance including all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the board of trustees are well informed of the work of the charity, providing them with all the information they require in order to exercise their fiduciary duIes and in accordance with their legal requirements.
• Ensure the organisaIon’s policies and pracIces are kept up to date and adhered to, including and ensuring effective risk management.

3.Strategy

• Work with the board of trustees to develop the strategic direcIon for the charity in line with the charity’s mission and objectives.
• Implement the strategic plans and communicate this internally and externally as appropriate.
• Keep abreast of sector developments, closely monitoring opportuniIes and threats, and taking acIon accordingly.

4.Operations

• Ensure the charity is resourced to meet the objecIves of the strategic plans.
• Lead fundraising activities for the organisation, including income generaIon, monitoring and evaluation securing diverse income from government grants, foundations, corporate sponsors and individual donors.
• Manage the financial performance of the charity, including setting budgets and providing financial reporting to the board of trustees.
• Develop effective controls, incorporating finance, data management, safeguarding, equalities, and monitoring systems.
• HR oversight.

5.Service delivery

• Manage the successful delivery of the charity’s work in line with its contractual obligations.
• Manage and upskill a team of staff, ensuring they are fully skilled and able to deliver effectively for the organisation.
• Ensuring all service delivery is impact driven and of the highest quality.

6.Communications and PR

• Manage all internal and external communicaIons for the charity.
• Act as a spokesperson and first point of contact for all press and media enquiries.
• Represent the charity at public events and conferences as opportunities present themselves.

7.Safeguarding

• To work alongside the Designated Trustee Lead for Safeguarding in creating a culture of high safeguarding standards throughout the organisation.
• To ensure that the statutory obligaIons with regards to safeguarding are met and any safeguarding issues arising are dealt with in an appropriate manner.

The Role

Being an Outdoor Learning Officer involves collaborating with schools to integrate Outdoor Learning into their curricula and provide opportunities for children and young people to have positive experiences in natural environments, focusing on underserved groups and those most in need of support. You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of our schools offer to ensure the success of Outdoor Learning programmes in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Delivery and Collaboration:

•  Develop a bespoke Outdoor Learning offer to schools as part of our Foundations for Outdoor Learning and/or Enriching Education programmes, considering various factors such as location, catchment area, size and type of groups, use of resources and landscape.
• Plan and deliver Outdoor Learning sessions for eligible schools, on school grounds, in local green spaces and at Low Beckside Farm, devising activities and developing appropriate learning resources for each session and agreed outcome.
• Support the delivery of sessions at Low Beckside Farm for groups attending as part of their OWL (Outdoor Week of Learning) residential.
• Work with schools and teachers for effective delivery of programmes.
• Contribute to impact assessments through data collection, observations, and evaluation paperwork.
• Comply with all risk assessments, Health & Safety policies and safeguarding considerations.
• Build a network among schools, aligning their needs with the Trust’s programmes.
• Coordinate with other Outdoor Learning Officers for collaboration with each other and local networks.

Development and Promotion:

• Support the development of our site at Low Beckside Farm as a venue for high-quality school learning. 
• Assist Learning Operations Lead in establishing and maintaining key relationships and projects and promoting Outdoor Learning programmes by attending relevant events.
• Contribute to the development of the Trust through engagement with grantees/beneficiaries in Cumbria and facilitation of the Outdoor Practitioners’ Education Network (OPEN) meetings, and explore opportunities for collaborative efforts.
• Participate in the development of learning policies and procedures, including risk assessments, Health & Safety protocols, training needs, and safeguarding.

Person Specification:
Specific Requirements 

• Teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience of leading environmental visits.
• Experience in supporting wellbeing, personal development and social skills through Outdoor Learning.
• Knowledge of Safeguarding.

Foundations for Outdoor Learning
This programme is a comprehensive, long-term support package for schools wanting to embed Outdoor Learning into their curriculum and practice. Support may include teacher CPD, mentoring, and advice on how to optimise use of your school grounds. We do this on your school site, with some supported visits to local green spaces and our own learning locations.

Enriching Education
This programme uses The Ernest Cook Trust’s own learning locations - woodlands, farms, rivers and other natural landscapes - together with our Outdoor Learning leaders to support a school’s Outdoor Learning provision. This may be a school’s first experience of Outdoor Learning, or it may enhance and extend existing programmes. Either way, we aim to inspire all participants to spend more time
outdoors.
