About this role

The Philanthropy Manager will own an assigned portfolio of prospects and donors at five to six figure level and act as the day-to-day relationship manager within that portfolio.

The role plans and delivers cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activity to agreed KPIs, makes timely operational decisions within scope, and escalates risks/opportunities early.

The post holder contributes evidence and insight into team planning, supports senior colleagues on major/strategic accounts, and collaborates across teams to ensure high quality, inclusive delivery.

​Key responsibilities

• Own and manage an assigned portfolio of prospects and donors at the five to six figure level, delivering agreed income and engagement targets.
• Build and maintain professional, long-term relationships within the portfolio, escalating strategic issues or risks promptly.
• Act as the day-to-day relationship manager for donors in your portfolio, adapting style to audience and context and ensuring clear, timely communications; seek support for major strategic relationships.
• Maintain structured cultivation plans with milestones, update stakeholders proactively, and adjust plans based on learning.
• Develop clear, evidence-led proposals and reports using agreed templates, definitions and KPIs; quality check data before submission.
• Support senior colleagues on major prospects with briefings, meeting notes, and follow ups.
• Supporting Senior Philanthropy Managers, Development Directors and the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships on key accounts (typically £500k–£1m+), preparing high quality materials and inputs and maintaining accurate records of progress through the fundraising cycle in Salesforce.
• Contribute insights to identify and prioritise new grant opportunities and themes; share relevant sector updates with the team.
• Co-develop stewardship plans tailored to donor priorities in collaboration with Engagement, Pro Bono and Events teams.
• Maintain accurate, complete records in Salesforce; apply definitions consistently and quality check data before reporting.
• Maintain Salesforce and contribute inputs for SMT/committee reporting via the Senior Philanthropy Manager; propose lightweight improvements to existing processes.
• Keep professional knowledge current; share useful updates/resources and ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
• Support delivery of major fundraising, cultivation and stewardship events, and ad-hoc Philanthropy Team activities.
• Demonstrate professionalism and best practice in all duties, complying with organisational policies and procedures, and proactively supporting the wider team.

​Essential​

• Demonstrable experience generating gifts at five to six figures from UK trusts, corporate partnerships and/or foundations.
• Ability to work through the fundraising cycle with donors to initiate, renew and grow gifts.
• Experience developing partnerships and managing an allocated portfolio of donor relationships.
• Excellent research and prospecting skills.
• Strong experience using Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, and substantive experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
• Strong planning and organisation skills – build structured plans with milestones/dependencies and track portfolio income/expenditure, highlighting variances early.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong bid-writing and storytelling ability.
• Ability to grasp and convey complex ideas, including Impetus’ model and the private equity industry.
• Able to engage confidently and professionally with senior stakeholders, adapting style and seeking support where appropriate.
• Ability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects and maintain excellent attention to detail.

Job Description
As the Operations and Visitor Experience Manager, you play a pivotal role at CSC, with full
responsibility for our Centre in Cambridge Science Park and our secondary site, currently in
Wisbech.
An essential part of your role is to drive CSC’s direct revenue streams connected to the Centre.
You will lead your team in generating public and school bookings, and in overseeing community
audiences, private hires, and other groups, ensuring every visitor enjoys a seamless and
welcoming experience. You will also take a proactive approach to increasing visitor numbers,
expanding CSC’s membership base, and researching and developing new revenue-generating
initiatives that strengthen our long-term sustainability.
Your expertise in creating and implementing exhibition spaces will be instrumental in bringing to
life our annual delivery calendar of science themes, which is strategically curated to attract and
engage our audiences while supporting the delivery of our Programmes. You will oversee an
annual budget covering the shop and site facilities.
You will work closely with the Outreach and Innovation Manager to prioritise, schedule, and
maintain products and content in line with CSC’s core Programmes and commitments, ensuring
impactful experiences for all audiences. In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications
Manager, you will plan and execute advertising campaigns targeting both the public and schools.
You will also coordinate with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to develop opportunities for
corporate partners to support on-site exhibitions and events, ensuring agreed partnerships are
effectively tracked and delivered.
Beyond operations, you will champion excellence in STEM engagement, providing both positive
and constructive feedback to the Engagement and Logistics Lead to ensure CSC’s offerings
remain best-in-class. This is an opportunity to shape the visitor experience at CSC, ensuring it
remains dynamic, inspiring, and accessible to all.
Key Responsibilities
● Create a welcoming and engaging environment for all visitors to our centres.
● Support and line-manage the Delivery and Sales Administrator and the Finance and
Operational Support Manager.
● Take overall responsibility for Health and Safety across CSC sites, ensuring full compliance
with requirements at both centres. Implement corrective actions where needed, and
oversee training and incident management to maintain a safe and well-managed
environment.
● Achieve annual direct income revenue targets across Visitors, Membership, Shop, Schools,
Parties, and STEMtots (under-fives), track progress, report findings, and take corrective
action as needed.
● Develop and implement strategies to increase visitor numbers and drive membership
growth.
● Research, plan, and execute new revenue projects to diversify CSC’s income streams.
● Oversee asset records, maintenance priorities, budgets, contractors, and expenditures
across the Cambridge and Wisbech sites, ensuring the effective sourcing and delivery of
third-party exhibits and content.
● Deliver an annual plan for exhibition-floor themes, events, and site management,
coordinating with the Outreach and Innovation Manager and the Engagement and Logistics
Lead to align activities with multi-year programmes, partner commitments, and internal
schedules such as training and exhibit maintenance.
● Establish a multi-layered feedback system to collect, analyse, and act on visitor insights,
continuously enhancing our offering.
● Oversee CSC’s volunteering and work experience programme, ensuring recruitment,
induction, and ongoing support are delivered to a high standard.
● Work with the Director of Business Development to identify and address barriers for
schools, supporting bursary applications and additional funding opportunities.
● In coordination with your team, ensure the shop is stocked with appropriate products to
maximise sales, support at-home engagement with STEM after a family visit and promote a
message of sustainability.
● Increase school bookings through strategic planning, aligning with schools’ annual planning
cycles, targeted outreach, and the effective delivery of engagement programmes.
● Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to plan and deliver advertising for
exhibitions, events, and school engagement, ensuring effective promotion of activities at
both the Cambridge and Wisbech centres.
● Manage the budget and oversee all contractors and expenditures related to the Cambridge
site and Wisbech.
● Provide financial support, working closely with the Director of Operations and Engagement
to ensure CSC’s operational sustainability.
Essential Criteria

Experience managing a visitor attraction, including responsibility for income targets and
cost control.

Working Conditions

The primary location for this role is Cambridge Science Centre at Trinity Centre, Cambridge
Science Park, CB4 0FN; however, travel to secondary sites and the main office will be required.
One working weekend per month will also be required.

Youth Delivery Mentoring Officer

We are looking for a skilled, committed, and passionate individual with experience within the youth work sector (this could be in a voluntary capacity). Whilst developing our focus around youth engagement and early intervention techniques, we recognise the importance of having individuals who really want to make a difference in the lives of young people. The successful applicant will understand our values, ethos and principles as an organisation and will demonstrate a strong desire to contribute to and deliver meaningful and effective youth work. 

Main Purpose of this Role

This is an exciting role at Reaching Higher and demonstrates our uncompromising commitment to playing our part to positive impact the lives of young people and their families. This role has been designed to lead on the delivery of our work and play a central role in creating meaningful experiences for young people via school and community-based youth projects.The purpose of this role is help ensure high-quality support for young people across our various programmes, in line with our mentoring ethos, helping to build an even stronger rapport with those we currently serve and improving accessibility for new young people being referred to us. 

About Reaching Higher 

Reaching Higher is a youth organisation which works with almost 2000 young people aged 10 - 18 each year across Croydon and surrounding boroughs. Developed in partnership with local churches, we are a youth-led charity with a Christian ethos.We place particular emphasis on providing mentoring support to young people and facilitating their development as leaders. We have established strong links with key local, London and UK-wide organisations and our approach leads us into regular working contact with partner schools, community groups and churches. 

We are looking for a Children's Spiritual Formation Lead. In this role, you will develop and create a spiritual formation pathway for children, that fosters spiritual growth through contemplative Christian practices, with a specific focus on pioneering and developing retreat day experiences for schools as part of the pathway. This is a national role that will enable churches to support their ministry to children in schools through contemplative Christian practices. You will also, where needed, play a hands-on role in supporting churches and schools in our work.

In this role, you will:

• Write and develop a contemplative spiritual formation pathway to strengthen

  lifelong spiritual growth for school children from Early Years to Secondary.

• Develop and project manage a national strategy for the pathway that can be

  contextualised, to encourage and equip churches to provide spaces where

  school children grow spiritually through contemplative Christian practices.

• Where helpful pilot the pathway within Oxfordshire.

• Develop, hone, pilot, and test a scalable, one-day contemplative retreat model

  for schools using Space Makers and prayer-space resources.

• Embed our one day contemplative retreats for schools as an integral component into the creation of the contemplative spiritual formation pathway.

• Expand delivery of retreats nationally with support from the CEO, by designing

  and delivering training for churches, leaders, lay volunteers, & students.

• Embed a network of volunteer adult & student Contemplative Practice Champions to sustain & refine delivery of retreats and the contemplative spiritual formation pathway.

• Where needed, support on-the-ground delivery of retreats and prayer and reflection spaces in schools.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

• 5–7 years of hands-on experience supporting children’s spiritual growth within a Christian-faith context.

Role Details

• Position: Children's Spiritual Formation Lead

• Location: Remote. Travel required for in person team days 3 - 6 times a year.

We are seeking an experienced communications lead to join our external engagement team and play a key role in shaping Martingale’s external profile and scholar recruitment.

As Communications Manager, you will lead on several critical aspects of Martingale’s work including all external communications from social media to PR, and brand management. Crucially, you will lead on the annual recruitment campaign for Martingale’s Postgraduate Scholarships. This three-month campaign each autumn is a fundamental part of Martingales work, ensuring we are finding and supporting as many talented people to apply as possible. Working closely with the Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will lead on all Martingale’s external communications.

A key responsibility will be ensuring that Martingale’s messaging is consistent, with a bold brand presence and strong collaboration with various external stakeholders including funders, universities, media, and government. You will also line manage the Events and Communications Officer who leads on all Martingale events and social media.

We are looking for a strong communicator with some leadership experience including line management, partnership management and external relations. You will bring excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a strong alignment with Martingale’s mission. Key Responsibilities:

Working with the Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will lead on the design and implementation of end-to-end marketing for the recruitment campaign for Martingale Scholars:

• Ensure widespread marketing of the Martingale Scholarship opportunity across the UK, including in media (e.g., student newspapers), on university campuses and on graduate job boards.
• Coordinate an effective paid advertising campaign across multiple channels.
• Directly engage prospective scholars to increase interest and convince them to apply for Martingale opportunities. For example, leading email campaigns, visiting university campuses, or hosting webinars.
• Build relationships with university academics, careers departments, student societies, graduate careers platforms, and other organisations who work with Martingale’s target audience. Encourage them to share Martingale opportunities to relevant people.
• Develop marketing materials and coordinate circulation: leaflets, brochures, social media content, video, email and newsletters, case studies and interviews with relevant people incl. current scholars.
• Procure and coordinate any relevant external providers: e.g., paid digital advertising agencies.
• Manage the Applicant Tracking System, embed and manage a CRM system for enrolled scholars.

Manage brand and increase brand awareness:

• Manage and develop Martingale Foundation’s brand identity, and the identity of our programmes: visual identity, communication style, digital presence, in-person style and feel of events.
• Design and manage a creative and innovative social media campaign across multiple channels, incl. paid ads.
• Manage the website, including maintenance, development, and SEO – with agency support.
• Lead engagement with media outlets and relevant press, including student newspapers. Write engaging press releases and generate interest in Martingale.
• Develop innovative opportunities to grow Martingale’s brand awareness including opportunities for you or the CEO to showcase Martingale’s work.

Stakeholder management and communications:

• Produce and coordinate engaging communications and events for scholars and applicants, alongside the Programme’s team.
• Manage relationships with partner universities Marketing and External Relations teams, ensuring they are consulted and pleased with progress, while also delivering on their commitments.
• Develop collaborative relationships with charity partners or organisations with similar missions to Martingale, as well as potential employers of Martingale Scholars, and ensure they are aware of Martingale’s mission and progress whilst supporting recruitment and brand building efforts.
• Build productive relationships with funders relevant communications teams.

Organisation and team:

• Line manage the Events and Communications Officer, ensuring they are supported, clear on responsibilities and how they fit into the wider strategy of Martingale.
• Work across all departments in the organisation, ensuring that staff are supported to produce communications and that all Martingale’s work is being promoted effectively.

Monitor and report on the progress of the Martingale Foundation:

• Lead the production of impact reports.
• Collect and analyse data from applications, and annually review and refine the Martingale Scholarship’s recruitment campaign to make appropriate adjustments in future years.
• Assess, evidence and communicate the impact of the Martingale Foundation Scholarship in innovative ways.

General

We are recruiting for an Out of School Childcare Leader to join our Out of School Childcare team. The role is for a Fixed Term Contract until July 2026.

You will be responsible for leading and delivering a programme of Ofsted registered Breakfast and After School Clubs, offering a range of free play opportunities as well as structured programmes. You will work closely with the Engagement Manager to implement engagement plans and ensure effective communication with schools and partners.

You will be supported by the Engagement Manager, Co-Director of Partnerships and Impact, and work closely with the Senior Programme Managers, Programme Managers and Communications team. 

You will support the Engagement Manager to deliver our school engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with our organisational goals and funded programme commitments. You’ll be a key first point of contact for schools and Multi-Academy Trusts, assessing their suitability and needs before referring them to the appropriate programme.

Working with the Engagement Manager, you’ll create marketing strategies to generate interest and participation in our programmes through direct mail, digital marketing campaigns, and in-person at conferences and events and meetings with prospective school partners. 

You’ll help build the engagement pipeline, support onboarding to ensure a smooth handover for training participants and schools to our programme delivery teams.

This role will be primarily based in London, but will include supporting the engagement of schools in locations across the UK as we scale and develop new hubs. You will be joining a dynamic and growing charity who are passionate about delivering exceptional training, skill sharing, expertise and know-how to advance the quality of food preparation, food service and food education in schools.

You will ideally have an understanding of the education sector and have strong people skills with the ability to build relationships and manage effective partnerships with external organisations.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the Engagement Manager in delivering school engagement plans and activities, ensuring they align with our organisational marketing strategy.

• Help build and maintain positive relationships with schools, academy trusts and partner organisations, with the support of the Engagement Manager.

• Maintain accurate data records and ensure our contacts database is up to date with relevant school, participant, partner and engagement information.

• Maintain and update the engagement pipeline, tracking enquiries, supporting follow-ups, and coordinating the handover to programme teams.

• Work with the Engagement Manager to build upon our current onboarding and customer journey for schools and training participants, developing and improving this for future schools and cohorts.

• Work closely with the Comms team to support marketing of training programmes to schools and school chefs.

• Support Engagement Manager with incoming enquiries, ensuring timely and effective responses.

• Support the delivery of engagement campaigns - helping with content and materials, logistics, scheduling, and coordinating with the Communications team.

• Represent Chefs in Schools at national and regional conferences, exhibitions, and networking events to promote our programmes and mission.

• Coordinate event logistics such as registrations, attendance tracking, and follow-up communications, supporting colleagues where needed.

• Provide administrative support within the wider Partnerships and Impact team.

Skills & experience:

• You have interest and belief in our mission, to improve child health through improving food and food education in schools.

• You’re an excellent writer and communicator with strong presentation and communication skills.

• You have experience of maintaining and building relationships with a wide range of audiences.

• You have experience of using CRM software.

• You have experience supporting outreach or engagement activity, ideally within education, food, charity or related fields.

• You have the ability to listen, understand and interpret customer requirements.

• You demonstrate self-motivation, flexibility and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing, growing organisation.

• A good understanding of the UK educational system is desirable.
