This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician experienced in child mental health to deliver our ‘Clinical Practice in Context’ module, which forms part of the curriculum for our two-year full-time MSc programme in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice and consists of 2.5 hours of weekly lectures/seminars throughout Term 1 (usually 10 weeks in October-December). The MSc programme has an intake of around 18-20 students per year from a range of diverse and international backgrounds. In their second year, students have an opportunity to apply their clinical skills by undertaking a placement within a child and adolescent mental health setting, while continuing to attend lectures and seminars as well as conducting a clinically based research project. The Module Lead will work alongside the wider programme team, including the Programme Director, Tutors and other Module Leads. The successful candidate will have significant clinical experience working in child and adolescent mental health settings and experience of teaching/training adults. The ability to work flexibly and autonomously is essential to successfully deliver the module. What the job involves 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant Brand and Media (Attention) team within our wider Communications directorate. As the Media and Communications Manager, you’ll be the team’s lead on Health Services, Equity and Improvement (including policy and campaigns) and Research communications, delivering impactful media moments which inspire action and drive positive change for men with, or at risk of, prostate cancer.

You’ll raise the profile of the cause and the brand, co-managing the activity of the charity’s media relations function and protecting the organisation’s principles and reputation. The impactful media messaging that you provide to a range of audiences will secure hard-hitting and compelling coverage, you can see our latest news stories on the Research and Treatment sections of our website.   

You’ll also be acting as line manager to the Senior Media and Communications Officer.

What we want from you 

We’re looking for an inspiring and strategic storyteller, you’ll be an expert in leading communications projects to inspire action and drive change and with a track record of generating media coverage to deliver messages to a range of audiences. 

You’ll be an excellent communicator with a strong understanding of different communication channels and have specialist knowledge of media relations. Experience in building trusted relationships with colleagues, external stakeholders, and journalists is essential. With previous line management experience, you’ll have a motivation to help others achieve their full potential and actively supports our commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and allyship. 

With excellent organisational skills with strong analytical skills and an ability to digest complex information, often under pressure of tight media deadlines. You’ll have a flexible approach to handling both planned projects and reactive opportunities. 

This role will be fixed term for 13 months covering sabbatical leave.

You will be educated to MSc level in Public Health, Nutrition, Epidemiology or closely related field and have experience working in a research/public health setting and developing scientific/policy reports, summaries and presentations. You will have proven scientific project management skills with experience in monitoring progress, performance reporting and delivering projects on time and budget. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment, and with stakeholders at all levels.

The Digital Content Manager role sits in the Knowledge Dissemination Department of the Schools Division. A key ambition of the department is to build and deepen engagement with education staff and their communities, supporting them on a journey to access and connect to all that the division and wider Anna Freud offer.

The Digital Content Manager will play a key role in supporting this ambition by developing a new digital content strategy and planning and overseeing its implementation, working with colleagues across the division and wider charity. The post-holder will oversee and develop website content, resources, toolkits, e-learnings and support departments with their content needs, ensuring consistency.

The successful candidate will be skilled at writing and editing engaging digital content and have experience of using analytics to inform strategy development. They will be able to inform our digital marketing planning, and identify opportunities to create or utilize existing content for PR, marketing and communications.

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week): usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00. A minimum of 28 hours will be considered. Flexible working is possible.

Safeguarding Manager

Salary Range: £44,000 pro rata equivalent

Background /Summary:

In2scienceUK’s aim is to promote social mobility and diversity in science, technology, engineering and maths. We do this by leveraging the skills and passion of researchers and STEM professionals to support young people (16+) from low socio-economic backgrounds to achieve their potential and progress to degrees and careers in STEM.

The successful applicant will be joining In2scienceUK at an exciting point in its mission having recently launched a number of new initiatives, both in-person and online, to support young people build the skills, knowledge and confidence to build successful careers in STEM.

Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Safeguarding Manager to join our growing team and own our safeguarding processes end to end. This is a crucial role to ensure the safety of the young people we work with and that In2scienceUK provides a safe environment for all.

This role is part time and contract based and would be ideal for someone who has significant experience of safeguarding and child protection law, as well as experience

in carrying out safeguarding audits, implementing safeguarding processes for both in person and online offers, as well as internal and external safeguarding training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and audit existing safeguarding practices and procedures throughout the organisation.

• Manage and deliver a plan to improve practices and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and guidance.

• Produce safeguarding policies, codes of conduct, and any other documentation needed to meet our commitment to safeguarding.

• Design and deliver effective in-person and online safeguarding training and guidance for trustees, staff, volunteers, partners and beneficiaries.

• Provide safeguarding support and guidance for our volunteers and partners, particularly concerning work experience placements and mentoring.

• Manage safeguarding concerns and disclosures as they arise, and escalate concerns in line with our safeguarding policies including making external referrals. 

• Ensure that our safeguarding records and processes are in compliance with Child Protection Law and GDPR regarding the processing of data and acting as a data controller.

• Responsible for fostering a culture of ‘safeguarding first’ across the organisation and with our volunteers, ensuring that our activities are designed with safeguarding embedded. 

• Stay up to date with all legislation and guidance on Safeguarding, child protection and protecting Adults at Risk within locations In2scienceUK operates and provides a single point of contact for this support - currently England, Wales and Scotland with ambition for future expansion.

• Support with the development of any policy, guidance and practice that relates to safeguarding our stakeholders, e.g. the legal status of work experience hosts, health and safety, DBS checks.

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

• Level 4 safeguarding accreditation.

• Strong existing knowledge of safeguarding and child protection laws in England, Wales and Scotland.

• Experience of implementing safeguarding processes to online, in-person and residential programme delivery designed for young people 16+.

• Experience of designing and delivering relevant training appropriately tailored to different audiences.

• Experience of working across departments and with trustees to produce appropriate processes and policies.

• Experience of dealing with being the first point of contact for complex cases for both children and adults at risk and making necessary referrals.

• Existing knowledge of Data Protection and how it applies to Safeguarding.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working with work placement and/or mentoring programmes and legal requirements for carrying these out.

• Previous wellbeing, counselling or similar training.

• Mental Health First Aid training

Chief Executive – full-time, permanent, London (flexible/hybrid)

The Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST) is seeking a new Chief Executive to lead the organisation through the next phase of its growth and development. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and energetic senior player to lead a small executive team, along with many highly dedicated and capable Institute members, as we embark on a number of key development projects which will continue to grow our charitable activities and influence in the food sector. The role is a key point of contact and ambassador for the Institute with many senior and influential stakeholders within the food sector and governments.

We are looking for a strong strategic and conceptual thinker, experienced in business and financial management, who can communicate with and influence people at all levels. The role leads a small team and will have significant hands-on involvement in day to day operational matters.

The individual will have attained a BSc or equivalent level, and have demonstrable experience in leadership and people management. They will have a broad understanding of the food (or associated) sector (and preferably experience working in the sector). Ideally, the individual will already have experience managing or running a charity, and so will have a practical understanding of charity governance best practice. 

With multiple activities from publishing through to professional recognition and from scientific and technical events and communication through to supporting the next generation of talent, the Institute is looking for a leader who can work creatively and yet in a focussed way to ensure all these activities are progressed.

Ideally, they will have previously worked for a professional membership body and are likely to have experience in the food sector.

The Ogden Trust is a charitable Trust, supporting the teaching and learning of physics.  The Trust supports a range of initiatives, programmes and projects to promote the teaching and learning of physics.

The Programme Officer will report to the Programme Manager for the Opportunities for All strand of the Ogden strategy, which includes our work with universities to support physics outreach and public engagement and physics-related internships for 16-18-year-olds. You will need to have a good understanding of the informal science learning landscape and higher education in England and an interest in physics in particular. So, we are looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly personable fundraising professional to join our UK team, to help us identify, approach and cultivate relationships with new private individuals with the potential to make major contributions to our work. 

This is a maternity cover contract so the successful candidate will need to get up to speed quickly, taking over responsibility for delivering the new Major Donor fundraising plan. The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing high level relationships and a track record of securing high value (5 and 6 figure) donations or new business. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator and able to build trusted relationships swiftly.  As this is still a new role, in a relatively young charity, your ideas will help shape this work and you will play a crucial part in driving the growth and sustainability of our fundraising in the UK.

You might have existing experience working with high-value donors, however we also welcome applications from candidates who have transferable experience from other areas - for example a sales or account management background.

Key Responsibilities (see attached job description for full list)

• Proactively research, identify, and cultivate a list of new potential donors (high-net-worth individuals), building a pipeline of people to approach for support.

• Build and strengthen relationships with both existing and new supporters - developing and personally managing and inspiring a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, soliciting 5 and 6-figure gifts.

• Lead a programme of relevant cultivation and networking events, including receptions and lunches, creating engaging opportunities for donors to increase their giving to a higher level.

• Develop inspiring and compelling ‘case for support’ literature

• Regular stewardship including personalised updates, donor touches, invites to webinars/events etc

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and you will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. You may be based anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to work from a shared team space in London once a month, and your donor meetings/events are most likely to take place there.

The postholder will be required to host networking events and attend some online meetings with our partners in the U.S so some (early) evening working is required. We are also flexible as to how many hours this postholder works, and will consider a 3-5 day per week arrangement, depending on experience.
