The Role
As Diocesan Director of Ordinands, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing and discerning vocations to ordained ministry within the Church of England. Job Description: Training and Events Officer
The Training and Events Officer will play a key role developing and delivering high quality professional development, training, events, workshops to SLA members and wider audiences. The postholder will develop inspirational, insightful and innovative routes to supporting SLA members to deliver on their school library provision remit, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education and training.
You will work with the CEO, SLA colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive training offer, including leading on logistics planning and delivery of our flagship annual conference. In addition, you will develop and maintain a calendar of exciting events and opportunities to share knowledge and insight, working with colleagues to ensure the offer is timely and informative. A confident facilitator and coordinator, you will be comfortable leading on training delivery, or recruiting and working with external facilitators in order to achieve specific outcomes. Creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, you will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines. Resource creation will be second-nature to you and you’ll be comfortable writing for adults and children, and young people.
Duties include:
- Logistics planning and delivery of the flagship event, SLA Annual Conference (currently called the Weekend Course) providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to members
- With CEO and key stakeholders, supporting the development of a comprehensive, engaging and exciting conference programme and recruit 40 exhibitors, plus event speakers as needed
- Supporting development of the training strategy working with the CEO to define aims and objectives
- Developing and maintaining a calendar of training, workshops and events aligned with the training strategy, working with the CEO and SLA colleagues, in particular the Outreach Support Officer
- Creation of supporting resources, toolkits and lesson plans to increase training engagement and impact
- Delivering and facilitating inspirational and engaging training and events as required (online and in person)
- Developing relationships with partners to produce high quality webinars, training and online events – including SLA members, funders, external stakeholders
- Exploring and evaluating business and funded models for training and events to ensure an income stream

- Managing all training and events administration, planning and logistics

To be successful in this role you should ideally demonstrate:
· experience of working in school libraries, the education sector and a strong understanding of the education landscape

· understanding of what works (and what doesn’t) for different formats and types of training and using evaluation to establish impact
· experience creating training resources, toolkits and teaching and learning resources

The Role
We now have an exciting new role for a Networks for Nature (NFN) Project Manager. This role is part of the Networks for Nature project team.
Networks for Nature spans c60 square miles from the River Dee to the River Mersey, including Chester and Ellesmere Port. This is a collaborative partnership project working with Cheshire West and Chester Council, The Land Trust, Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Canal and River Trust, and Sustrans with the aim to drive nature recovery in a mixed-use landscape, creating diverse habitats for species to thrive now and for years to come. We will empower communities to have an active role in conservation action and stewardship and will focus on making nature more accessible to and inclusive for everyone to enable connection and improve wellbeing. The NFN Project Manager will be responsible for leading the project delivery team, maintaining good communication with and consulting with the project partners, ensuring adherence to and delivery against the project activity and action plan, record keeping and reporting to project governance bodies and multiple project funders.
The NFN Project Manager will be accountable to the internal Chester Zoo Project Board and a Steering Group comprised of project partners, who have oversight of the project. The NFN Project Manager will track and monitor project budget (c.£5million) and ensure that all spending is in line with the agreed budget. The NFN Project Manager will be supported in these tasks by the Senior Community Participation and Engagement Manager and will line manage a Project Administrator who will help with the day-to-day administration of the project.
We’re looking for someone who can:
- Matrix manage the project delivery team to ensure adherence to and delivery of the project activity plan throughout the delivery phase.
- Influence project partners to ensure that planned conservation action and engagement activities are taking place according to timescale and budget detailed in NFN project activity plan.
- Provide regular reports to Project Board, and the Project Steering Group, ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are kept appraised of project progress and any areas of risk.
- Work with the Trusts and Foundations Manager to manage relationships with National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) and other funders for the project. Lead on reporting to the NLHF, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements to ensure successful drawdown of the c.£4million grant.
- Manage the allocated budget for the delivery phase c.£5million working within the agreed budget and proactively seeking approvals and reporting variances to the Senior Community Participation and Engagement Manager, Director of Conservation Education and Project Board as needed.
- Work with Chester Zoo Science Department and external contractors to evaluate the impact of the project, including gathering evidence and case studies.
- Advocate for the project at internal and external forums, conferences and networks, ensuring widespread community, conservation sector and stakeholder buy-in to Networks for Nature.
- Ensure that all project activities are safe and appropriately risk assessed, liaising with specialist staff and Health and Safety Advisors as appropriate. Ensure all project activities are compliant with all legislation and best practice guidance, including safeguarding, Construction and Design Management, GDPR, Health and Safety and Copyright.

Our Requirements
- An understanding & affinity to the organisation’s mission, vision & values, with a strong interest in the conservation of UK nature and in community-based conservation work.
- Substantial experience planning, leading and managing large-scale, multi-year projects with demonstrable project management skills and knowledge, experience of working collaboratively with project partners, matrix managing project teams and tracking project progress, ideally in a conservation, community engagement and/or education environment.
- Experience leading partnership management, facilitating meetings and coordinating events to ensure partners and key stakeholders are well informed and engaged.
- Experience of managing and influencing the work of others, with and without authority. The post holder may reasonably be required to direct activity to achieve the project’s goals across multiple internal teams, volunteer groups and external partner organisations.
- Good working knowledge of the protection and restoration of nature – ideally within the context of terrestrial UK habitats and species.
- Understanding of community work and insight into the challenges and benefits of working with community groups, schools and the general public to achieve conservation goals.
- Attention to detail and critical thinking skills are essential.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through a wide range of experience presenting to different audiences, in meetings and at events, and experience of report writing.
- IT skills: Skilled in the use of all key Microsoft packages.
- Organisational skills: Excellent time management, administration and planning skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, meeting deadlines and ensuring appropriate quality control.
- Interpersonal skills: Excellent diplomacy and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under own initiative and as part of a team, to work under pressure with positive attitude and also to enthuse and engage others. The role requires the post holder to work extensively across different departments and with external colleagues.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
About the Role
As a Support Worker in our Housing First team, you’ll be a key point of contact for a small caseload of residents (approx. 6). You'll offer tailored, compassionate, housing-related and other person-centered support—enabling residents to articulate and achieve their goals, navigate systems, and rebuild their lives.
You’ll work closely with SCT’s internal services teams and external agencies to remove barriers, promote wellbeing, and champion the voice of each resident.
Key Responsibilities
Support and Advocacy
- Deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support to Housing First residents.
- Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments.
- Develop meaningful relationships that foster trust, choice and wellbeing.
- Advocate for residents’ access to healthcare, housing, benefits and specialist services.
- Support residents with practical tasks like budgeting, appointments, and accessing community resources.
- Encourage participation in community drug and alcohol services, and other recovery pathways.
Housing and Recovery Support
- Help residents secure, move into, and sustain suitable accommodation.
- Support the use of residents’ personalised budgets (e.g., for furniture, clothing, etc.).
- Work with residents and our housing partner to resolve issues and prevent eviction.
- Facilitate access to SCT’s wider services as required.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Build strong partnerships with local services, agencies and community networks.
- Maintain clear records on In-Form and contribute to reports and evaluations.
About You

Purpose of the role:

Doing all of our day-to-day fundraising administration to keep us well-organised and compliant. This includes:

Recording and monitoring fundraising data using our Fundraising Tracking Database

Keeping all of our grant agreements, contracts and other relevant documentation well-organised on GDrive and elsewhere

Ensuring compliance with the financial requirements of the grant agreements, and updating and maintaining the grant payments schedule

Raising invoices on Xero in line with funder agreements - noting instalment dates and receipts

Preparing payroll each month, ensuring everything happens on time and coordinating with our payroll agency. (This may only be a temporary responsibility)

Processing and reconciling payments. This includes:

Reconciling bank receipts and chasing late payments

Processing supplier invoices and payments

Monitoring our team’s Pleo card expenses and posting on Slack to our team for authorisation

Managing the subscriptions on Pleo cards (this is likely a temporary responsibility until our People & Ops Manager returns from sabbatical leave)

Preparing some financial reports and accounts. This includes accounts to trial balance, and ad hoc reports from Xero when our team have finance queries or need support

Supporting with finance projects which make our finance systems work more efficiently, simply and sustainably e.g. helping to update our budget spreadsheets and approach to budgeting, or moving to a new bank

Supporting the Head of Finance with budgets, financial planning and reports and any other ad hoc finance tasks

About you:

You have experience dealing with people in different capacities, both internally and externally, on a day to day basis, and build strong working relationships

You have solid finance experience and skill. For us that means:

a minimum of three years work experience in a finance role, preferably within the charity/non profit sector. This means you have a good understanding of non-profit finance, including VAT and managing restricted and unrestricted funds

a solid understanding of Accounts Payable (with BACs, invoicing, etc) and Receivable (invoicing and credit control) processes

a Level 4 AAT, equivalent qualification or equivalent experience

experience in control accounts reconciliation, and posting journals

The Forest of Avon hosts several programmes including the multi-million pound Trees for Climate and the Western Forest, delivering woodland creation and restoration across the region as well as our expert-led Nature and Health work. The charity has a growing team and an actively engaged Board of Trustees.
The Head of Finance (HoF) is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the Forest of Avon Trust which now includes Western Forest, England’s first new national forest in 30 years covering Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the West of England (including North Somerset).
Our new HoF will manage the charity’s financial systems, preparing accounts, supporting audits, reporting to the Board of Trustees and overseeing and reporting on the financial elements of key programmes such as the Trees for Climate grant scheme and the Western Forest. The HoF also works closely with the team and external stakeholders to expand the charity’s financial capacity, ensuring transparency and effectiveness in all financial activities.
Role Description
Post: Head of Finance, Forest of Avon (including Western Forest)
Salary: £46,305-51,146, with annual pay review
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, flexible work hours
Line manager: CEO, Forest of Avon / reporting to Finance Sub-Group of Board.

Some key duties of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Prepare the annual accounts and financial statements in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Work with the charity’s auditors to ensure the successful completion of the annual audit process.
- Provide monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including budget setting, forecasts, and projections to ensure the Trust’s financial health is consistently monitored, including projects such as Trees for Climate and Western Forest.

- Provide financial input and support for the management of restricted funds, ensuring all are appropriately allocated and tracked.
The successful candidate will have/be:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with extensive experience in financial management within a charity or non-profit sector.
- Strong experience in preparing accounts, managing audits, and financial reporting.
- Experience with grant management, including financial administration, claims processing, and reporting in relation to large-scale funding programmes.
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear insights to the Board and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and advise both internal teams and external partners on financial matters.
- Strong organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in financial software and IT systems, including bookkeeping and accounting platforms.
