Our best offer for this position is £37,000 per annum for an 18-month fixed term contract.

GGF applies a participatory and decentralised model in making grants to grassroots groups through regional and thematic boards of advisors, global partner networks and independent funds, to support grassroots environmental and social justice action.
Global Greengrants Fund comprises two organisations located in the USA, Global Greengrants Fund Inc (established in 1993), and Global Greengrants Fund UK (established in 2012). The two organisations work closely together with a shared grantmaking programme and strategic collaboration at the senior leadership level. GGF UK consists of nine staff members working on fundraising and influencing philanthropy; finance; communications; and operations, with all of these functions operating autonomously but in close collaboration with their US counterpart functions.

The role
Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in collaborating across teams to support finance and operations. They work to ensure that all financial transactions are entered and recorded correctly, that all payment related queries are followed up to completion and that all financial records are maintained appropriately. They will support the grant making processes by working with the grants management team to track and monitor payment processes to completion, including through liaising with payment service providers. They will undertake general operations and administration duties, including supporting recruitments, being the first point of contact for suppliers and vendors, purchasing and maintaining equipment and scheduling meetings and events.
As part of the finance and operations team, they will join a growing team currently staffed by four members in the UK. In the present accountability structures the Finance and Operations Administrator, GGF UK is line managed by the Director of Finance and Operations, GGF UK while building and working in more self-organised and collaborative ways.
The candidate profile.
The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, and/or grant-making organisation. They demonstrate knowledge and experience in charity/nonprofit grant accounting/financial issues and dealing with financial information and processes, and understand accounting principles, and have knowledge of accounting and budgeting processes. They demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to ensure accuracy of work and demonstrate precise attention to detail. They have experience dealing with administrative processes and office administration, especially in a non-profit, remote organisation. They will have skills to give, receive and work with feedback constructively. They also thrive in a virtual environment, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions. English fluency is a must.

Role Overview
The Programme Associate delivers Facing History training and support to educators, helps to build and engage our network of teachers and, using Facing History’s pedagogical framework, creates clear and accessible curriculum materials and resources.
The Programme Associate will initially be managed by the Executive Director and be accountable to our Senior Programme Associate (responsible for programme delivery) and Senior Curriculum Developer (responsible for developing and adapting educational resources) respectively for work that falls into their areas of responsibility.
This post holder will be required to attend meetings in London and there will be travel across the UK. Proximity to good transport links is therefore essential.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
Working alongside the programme team, the postholder will have the following key duties and responsibilities:

Programme Delivery: planning, preparing for and delivering training for educators both online and in person.

Teacher Community Support and Engagement: creating relationships with teachers across our community, and running events and opportunities for them to engage more effectively with the organisation. Supporting the development of our teacher engagement journey and implementing new elements of this as they are developed. Supporting our developing online communities, and working to build and expand membership and engagement with them. Supporting evaluation and monitoring of the work, utilising relationships with teachers to secure their participation in surveys, focus groups and evaluation studies, as needed. Working with the Programme Administrator to ensure that regular communications go out to the educator network and to keep the database up to date.

Programme Partnerships: alongside the Senior Programme Associate identifying and developing partnerships with schools, academy trusts (England), regional bodies and third sector organisations who can help to disseminate our work and become potential delivery partners.

Content Development: alongside the Senior Curriculum Developer, developing web- and print-based content for teachers and students, including lesson plans, units, study guides, and other resources. Researching, writing, and summarising complex histories to provide context for resources. Maintaining knowledge and expertise in best practices in teaching, pedagogy, and assessment, and ensuring those practices are reflected as appropriate in Facing History content. Providing content for our Ideas This Week website page and providing other means of supporting teachers to respond to current events in their classrooms. In conjunction with the Programme Administrator write / review content for Facing History UK social media activity linked to existing and newly developed resources.
Other: contributing to the smooth operation and effectiveness of the charity as part of a small team, representing the charity at events and conferences as required, and supporting the work of other members of the team as reasonably required.

Skylarks charity is seeking a SENIOR SEND EDUCATION ADVISER who will be part of a small enthusiastic and growing team supporting children with additional needs and their families. This post will complement our existing services and grow our organisational capacity.
Since launching in April 2020, The SEND Advice Service has supported over 1000 families who need legally-based advice in relation to the education needs of their child or young person with SEND. We are adapting to meet demand. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a rewarding role and gain a strong sense of achievement.
As the Senior Send Education Adviser, you will provide high-quality information, advice and support to children and young people with SEND aged 0-25 years and their parents and carers in line with the SEN Code of Practice and associated legal framework. You will answer queries from the public and provide support in a range of areas relating to SEND education. Most of our queries are in relation to Education, Health and Care plans (EHCPs)
You will manage a small team and oversee the caseload. Your line manager will provide support, guidance and additional training opportunities.
No two days are the same and this is an interesting and varied role that would suit someone who has a good working knowledge of SEN Legislation and the statutory guidance. You will have relevant experience providing support and giving legally-based advice to people seeking help in relation to EHCPs, SEND education and associated matters.
Ideally, the candidate would have completed all of the IPSEA SEN Law training levels 1-3.
The majority of the service is delivered via phone or via video call appointments across the working week during office hours. We also provide weekly in-person meetings which take place at our centre in Twickenham or occasional outreach centres, including our new centre in Hounslow opening next spring. The role will also involve providing training for parent-carers via F2F workshops and webinars.

We also work closely with other education advisers, law firms and statutory services such as SENDIASS, to ensure the best possible outcomes for families and this role will involve building on those relationships.
We currently do not provide support with appeals to the SEND First Tier Tribunal, but we are looking to do so. It would therefore be an advantage if you had some experience in supporting individuals with appeals.

This is a new position funded by the Scottish and Welsh Governments, to increase the availability of free, high quality, expert and locally accessible immigration advice. This role will help to grow Settled’s presence in Scotland and Wales.
You will provide complex immigration advice to EU citizens and their families in Scotland and Wales and work collaboratively with other service providers in those nations and with Settled’s dynamic UK-wide team of multilingual staff and volunteers.
Your clients will be from all parts of Europe as well as people with EU citizenship who are from other countries, they will include isolated and vulnerable groups such as Roma, and you will work alongside Settled's Ukraine service.
Much of the advice can be delivered remotely, but some face-to-face advice is expected in Wales and Scotland (we have staff in Newport and Edinburgh) and there will be some travel to meetings within the UK.
The role is full time, but we appreciate that some good candidates may prefer to work part-time, or may prefer to focus either on Scotland or Wales rather than covering both nations. The role
In recent months, New Local’s direct work with councils and other bodies to turn the principle of community power into reality has grown considerably. We have also grown our membership and expanded the range of sessions we offer to members.
The role will require someone with the ability to support the complex logistical and administration tasks associated with our programmes to ensure they are run efficiently and to the very highest standards.

- Event planning: Excite and engage our network by meticulously designing and delivering the format, content and logistics of our events and online sessions to be of maximum impact and value to them.
- Network building: Share the magic of our network, generate interest in our events and encourage participation. You will recognise the power of our data to improve our offer to members as well as to build our communications.
- Staying fresh: Keeping up to date with the latest developments affecting local government members, their efforts to transform public services and innovative approaches across the sector.
- Production and delivery: Be the on-the-day ‘producer’ for events and online sessions delivering a seamless experience ensuring our members have a smooth, enjoyable and interesting experience from start to finish.
- Working with stakeholders: Proactively and positively work with event stakeholders, including partners, sponsors, and other team members, before, during and after events/sessions to create a vibrant network of collaboration.

The organisation
New Local was founded in 1996. Main Duties/Tasks
Income Generation & Stewardship

Provide administrative support for the Corporate Partnerships Team including:

About Lightyear Foundation
Lightyear Foundation is a small but mighty national charity committed to breaking barriers to disabled children participating in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths). Disabled children face multiple disadvantages in education, careers and life skills and are all too often excluded from STEM. We exist to ensure that no disabled child is denied the opportunity to love and learn from these subjects or to go on to contribute to society in these fields.
We work directly with disabled children in special schools, inclusion pods and community groups, designing and delivering immersive sensory science experiences, deep learning labs and work inspiration visits to exciting STEM venues. We also work directly with STEM organisations through our SEN in STEM Network, a unique national network bringing the sector together to break down barriers to inclusion by sharing best practice and practical solutions, and through training and special projects which help STEM organisations improve access to their materials, venues, processes and activities for disabled children.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lightyear Foundation is a small but fast-growing charity. We are now at a pivotal point in our growth and have ambitions to increase our reach and to diversify our income, enabling us to play an even more significant role in dismantling barriers to inclusion. We have been awarded a grant to secure our core team roles for three years, which has enabled us to sustainably appoint a small team for the first time. We are looking for an experienced small charity CEO to lead this new freelance team, building on the excellent work of their predecessor and the many exciting opportunities ahead of us.
Leadership
- Be the face and voice of the charity – our principal ambassador.
- Lead, support, engage and motivate all staff: we are a small team of part-time freelancers across the new core team and the wider specialist delivery team, so creating a sense of community and collaboration is fundamental to our success.
- Seek out, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant organisations and individuals to promote the work of the charity and facilitate the implementation of its strategic objectives.
- Leverage networks with other charity leaders to share and gain best practices to achieve our mission.

Strategy
- Liaise with the Board in relation to the development of the charity’s strategic vision and be responsible for leading its implementation.

Fundraising
- Create, own and deliver Lightyear Foundation’s income generation strategy.

- Manage our key relationships with funders, including providing timely reports and updates.
- Proactively identify new funding opportunities, creating and submitting applications or proposals as needed.
Governance and Compliance
- Liaise with the Board to ensure that the charity’s overall governance structure, policies and procedures are appropriate and effective, taking remedial measures and implementing changes as necessary.
- Attend all Board meetings (held four times a year, usually on a Monday early evening) and prepare a written report in advance of each meeting detailing matters of interest and concern regarding the charity’s activities during the previous period.
- Ensure that the Board is made aware in a timely fashion of any matters requiring its attention.
- Develop and maintain effective operational policies and processes in all the charity’s functions. Review and update scope and content to meet legal, regulatory and best practice needs.
- Ensure that the charity complies with best practice in all areas of operation, including filing annual accounts with the Charity Commission and Companies House on time.
Health and Safety
- Oversee the safeguarding of the children with whom the charity works through rigorous DBS procedures and staff/volunteer training.
- Ensure that collection and protection of personal information complies with current Data Protection regulations.
- Ensure that all of the charity’s activities are conducted safely and that Health and Safety policies are understood and followed by everyone.
- Ensure that all major risks are identified and regularly reviewed and that systems and procedures are in place to mitigate all such risks; be responsible for the development and implementation of the charity’s Risk Register.
