We are now looking for a Head of Fundraising & Business Development to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 35 hours per week.

The Role
As our Head of Fundraising & Business Development, you will lead efforts to secure and diversify funding, building a sustainable resource base to support our global mission.
Leading the Fundraising and Business Development Team, you will drive the implementation of our resource mobilisation strategy, focusing on increasing non-ODA income and expanding flexible and programmatic funding.
Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, finance, research and impact teams, you will help close funding gaps by developing strong donor relationships, negotiating funding agreements and shaping compelling funding propositions.
Alongside collaborating with the Director of Fundraising and Communications and supporting engagement with the Board of Trustees, you will manage systems, data and internal processes that strengthen fundraising performance and ensure effective delivery.
Additionally, you will:
- Gather and share intelligence on trends within the funding landscape
- Generate new fundraising ideas and opportunities with existing and new funders
- Support teams to develop fundraising plans, donor scoping and funding bids
- Analyse data to inform fundraising strategies and income generation
- Design and manage internal fundraising support processes and systems
- Oversee the team budget and support staff development and wellbeing
About You
To be considered as our Head of Fundraising & Business Development, you will need:
- Significant experience leading fundraising functions in an international NGO or charity
- A proven, impressive track record in fundraising
- Experience in partnership and consortium development
- Management experience with the ability to co-ordinate, support, motivate, energise and develop diverse teams
- The ability to design and deliver income-generation strategies across multiple streams
- A strong understanding of the evolving landscape of finance and resource mobilisation for sustainable development
- A strong understanding of policy and research related to sustainable development at an international level, particularly related to Africa, Asia and/or Latin America
- Strong influencing, negotiating, stakeholder engagement and diplomacy skills
- A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
- The willingness and ability to travel internationally

The Key Relationships programme sits at the heart of Greenpeace UK’s fundraising, securing the philanthropic investment that powers its campaigning work. The team raises around £15–16 million annually from major donors, trusts and foundations and legacies, contributing significantly to the organisation’s wider fundraising income of approximately £37 million.
We are now seeking an outstanding Deputy Fundraising Director, Key Relationships to provide strategic leadership for this vital programme. Reporting to the Fundraising Director and managing a team of 15 (with five direct reports), the role combines high-level leadership with hands-on engagement with major donors and senior stakeholders.
This is a pivotal moment for Greenpeace UK’s Key Relationships programme. Following a period of organisational change and restructuring, the successful candidate will help strengthen the major donor and philanthropic pipeline while shaping the future direction of the programme. The role will also play a central part in Greenpeace’s ambitious global capital campaign to fund a new ship and the campaigning work it will support, with Greenpeace UK contributing £20 million towards a €100 million international target by 2028.
As Deputy Fundraising Director, Key Relationships, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership for Greenpeace UK’s Key Relationships programme, overseeing fundraising from major donors, trusts and foundations and legacies
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of 15, ensuring the programme delivers and grows significant philanthropic income
- Maintain and develop senior relationships with major donors, funders and strategic external stakeholders
- Play a key leadership role in Greenpeace’s global capital campaign to fund a new ship and global campaigning programme
- Work closely with colleagues across fundraising, campaigns and programmes to develop compelling funding opportunities aligned with Greenpeace’s priorities
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation as a member of the Fundraising Leadership Team
- Lead and shape Greenpeace UK’s key influencer strategy, owning a 3-year programme that connects our campaigns and fundraising ambitions to the people who can amplify their impact

This role will suit an experienced fundraising leader who combines strategic thinking with the ability to build strong relationships and inspire high-performing teams.
Ideal skills and experience:
- A strong track record of leading successful high-value fundraising and/or philanthropy programmes
- Extensive experience of establishing and sustaining relationships with senior level external stakeholders and/or funders
- Proven experience of successfully managing and supporting a team responsible for high value partnerships and/or philanthropy fundraising, including managing managers
- Experience of financial planning, forecasting and developing investment cases
- Demonstrable experience of convincingly and persuasively engaging with a wide range of people including high profile major donors
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire a wide range of audiences

To fulfil our exciting campaign ambitions, we are recruiting a Corporate Philanthropy Manager to help grow our philanthropic funding and to take our campaign to the next level. We are looking for someone with a strong new business record, who is confident in networking with some of the biggest and most influential businesses in the region. The role will have a set portfolio of relationships to steward and develop, whilst maintaining a watching brief to identify new opportunities for strategically valuable partnerships. Academics here are tackling some of the world’s most pressing global challenges such as the impact of climate change on our woodlands and forests, issues caused by migration and displacement, the rise in youth mental health issues, and the prevention of needless maternal deaths in the developing world. This role is a great opportunity to further develop your skills and will play a vital role in delivering projects to change lives locally, nationally and internationally. A key member of the Development and Alumni Relations Office’s (DARO) Charitable Partnerships team, you will identify, create and manage corporate philanthropic partnerships with local, national and global businesses. You will have an enthusiasm for building relationships, the skill to interact with high-level corporate professionals and academics, experience of delivering against KPIs, KPTs and against financial targets, along with the ability to translate complex information into a compelling case for support.
Main Duties
The Corporate Philanthropy Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing and strengthening relationships with key current corporate funders to the University to grow philanthropic income.
- Identifying and building relationships with new corporate funders to secure a minimum of six figure gifts.
- Managing a pipeline of short, medium and long-term funding applications and relationships to enable year-on-year corporate philanthropy income growth.
- Taking responsibility for a developed and expert knowledge of a number of key campaign programmes.
- Building close working relationships with academics, alongside other University colleagues, to find information needed to write clear and compelling proposals on existing and new areas of research, that aligns with the strategic priorities of corporate funders.
- Signposting academic colleagues to resources to help secure income from a variety of sources, including research councils, charitable grants etc.
- The ability to take calculated risks to create a step-change in our corporate philanthropy portfolio, recognising the importance of ‘high risk high reward’ in transformative fundraising.
- Build effective, co-ordinated, working relationships with the following external stakeholders:
- Major local, national and global corporates
- Relevant city, regional, national and international business networking and brokerage organisations
- Agencies that promote corporate social responsibility and charitable giving
- SMEs of high growth potential operating in sectors of agreed strategic significance
- Responsibility for championing and advising upon corporate philanthropy with a range of internal and external audiences

- Managing the whole donor journey of a corporate funder, from identification to acknowledgement and stewardship.

- Efficiently use the Customer Relationship Management system to record and report on activity – feeding into campaign data, team reporting and management information for the senior leadership team.
- Be responsible for adhering to relevant fundraising regulation and current data legislation in the UK and in target markets whilst ensuring fundraising is ethical and that due diligence is undertaken as necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience
- Educated to Degree level (or equivalent qualifications). Where no equivalent qualification is held, significant practical relevant experience and expertise in a similar role will be required.
- Evidence of writing motivational and persuasive reports or proposals – this could be demonstrated through performance in full time, part time or voluntary roles.
- The ability to understand and communicate complex expressions of academic vision to non-academic philanthropic supporters.
- Outstanding communication and to present confidently to audiences of all sizes.
- Understanding of and ability to represent the vision and mission of the University of Birmingham.
- Experience of working to a minimum of five figure gifts and exceeding targets.
- Ability to prioritise own workload under pressure and balance a range of competing deadlines.
- Passion for and knowledge of Higher Education, particularly research and the role of philanthropy.

When young people in care turn 18, all the support they’ve relied on can fall away, literally overnight. Suddenly, they have to navigate adulthood on their own. This would be tough for any teenager, even if they could fall back on their family for help. So it’s not surprising that two out of three care-experienced young people feel unprepared to leave care. Too many still don’t get the support they need to make it safely past this cliff edge.
Care leavers aged 18-21 are nine times more likely to experience homelessness than their peers.
Settle exists to change this. We’re an award-winning charity, supporting care-experienced young people as they move into their first home, so they can confidently transition into independent living, avoid eviction and homelessness, and establish the foundations they need to thrive in adulthood. We are on a mission to end homelessness among care-experienced young people.
With our current Head of Fundraising leaving us to go travelling, we’re seeking someone new to help us achieve this ambition. You’ll have a lot to build on. Hours: The hours are full-time (35 hours per week) preferred, with attendance at funder events outside core hours as needed from time to time – part-time will be considered for the right candidate but we envisage at least 0.8FTE / 28 hours per week
Location: Hybrid working between our office in London Bridge and working from home – our standard expectation is at least 2 days a week of contact time (in the office, funder meetings or events). We have a monthly in person team meeting on a Wednesday, and hold our monthly SLT meetings in person on a Tuesday.

About Spear
We launched the award-winning Spear Programme over 20 years ago, and there are now 18 Spear Centres across the country, equipping unemployed 16–24-year-olds facing barriers to employment with the skills and mindset they need to secure work and thrive in the workplace.
Spear operates a joint venture model with churches across the UK to run our Spear Centres. About the role
Spear is in an exciting time of growth, as we expand our work nationwide. You will play a pivotal role in equipping new and existing Church Partners to build sustainable, thriving Spear Centres that transform young people’s lives.
With an annual fundraising target of £125k, you will combine strategic insight, relationship-building and hands-on application writing, as well fundraising advice to help Church Partners grow diverse and resilient fundraising streams. The role

Specific Responsibilities
• Deliver against a 6-figure fundraising target, taking responsibility for a cohort of prospects, with a focus on trusts, foundations, public sector and corporate partners.
• Write compelling proposals/applications and reports for trusts and foundations, to engage supporters and demonstrate the impact of our work.
• Collaborate with colleagues, in particular the Director and Programme Heads, to source programme information, schedule meetings/calls with prospects, writing excellent briefing notes in advance.

The Individual Giving Manager will lead the development of RLSS UK’s first comprehensive individual giving programme, building all activity from the ground up. JOB PURPOSE

You’ll take ownership of the communications and marketing requirements for our Partnerships and Communities portfolio, ensuring every project has a clear, impactful marketing strategy. Key Focus Areas

- Commissioning and managing the creation of accessible and effective assets (e.g. presentations, toolkits, social content, video) that are used in the delivery and implementation of a wide variety of programmes and campaigns, across diverse themes. This will involve close collaboration with the Senior Programmes Design Manager and our partners.
- Developing and overseeing integrated marketing and communications plans for the programmes and campaigns – considering objectives, audiences, channels, timelines and KPIs - in close collaboration with Community Integrated Care’s in-house internal and external Marketing and Communications team and operational colleagues, and our partners, to ensure that we reach and empower our target audiences.
- Identifying, delivering and collaborating on profile-raising activations with partners (e.g., events, co-branded campaigns, ambassador activity, PR opportunities) that celebrate the charity, extend reach, and support a more inclusive society, working with Community Integrated Care’s external communications team – including PR and Media, Social Media, Policy & Public Affairs and Design specialists.

Help shape the future of income generation at Alopecia UK. This newly created role offers a rare opportunity to build and lead fundraising at a small but ambitious national charity.
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Fundraising Manager to lead our next phase of income growth. As our first dedicated fundraising leadership role, you will develop and deliver a multi-year income strategy, strengthen existing income streams, and identify new opportunities to diversify and grow our fundraising.
Working closely with the CEO and colleagues across the organisation, you will play a central role in helping Alopecia UK reach more people affected by alopecia and ensure the charity’s long-term sustainability. Strategic leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of a multi-year income generation strategy aligned to Alopecia UK priorities.
- Work across the organisation to ensure fundraising activity is fully integrated with operational delivery, partnering closely with the finance, communications and delivery managers to align plans, resources and messaging, and to ensure shared initiatives are realistic, coordinated and achievable.
- Translate insight from your experience and our recent fundraising strategy review into clear, achievable plans.
- Set and monitor ambitious yet realistic income targets across income streams.
- Responsibility for achieving the fundraising targets and other fundraising-related performance indicators.
- Embed a positive fundraising culture across the organisation.
- Manage and review all fundraising income and expenditure budgets.
Income growth & diversification
As a part-time role within a small charity, the postholder will need to carefully prioritise income-generating opportunities alongside stewardship and relationship management. In year one, a key focus will be establishing effective donor pathways through the rollout of our new CRM, ensuring supporters experience clear and meaningful journeys with the charity. Alongside this, the Senior Fundraising Manager will assess and determine which early opportunities for growth should be prioritised. While areas such as community fundraising, digital campaigns and regular giving are likely to offer early potential, the postholder will lead decisions on where to focus effort and investment to generate the strongest returns.
- Leverage and optimise existing community and public fundraising activity to increase income and supporter numbers.
- Develop and grow new revenue streams, to potentially include digital fundraising campaigns, regular giving, trusts and grants, and legacy giving.
- Lead creatively and intellectually on compelling campaigning initiatives that drive engagement and income.
- Provide excellent stewardship to ensure funders and partners feel valued, engaged and motivated to continue their support.
- Widen our existing corporate partnerships programme by building mutually beneficial partnerships to deliver income, awareness, and engagement opportunities.
CRM
- Support the design and rollout of our first CRM system, working closely with the Finance & Operations Manager to design fit-for-purpose donor journeys and pathways, establish meaningful reporting frameworks and ensure data supports excellent stewardship and strategic decision-making.
- Use CRM data and financial information to track performance, analyse trends and adjust strategy as required.
Data & impact
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including ICO guidance, GDPR and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
- Work closely with the Finance & Operations Manager to ensure our data meaningfully represents organisational outcomes.
- Translate impact data into powerful, succinct and persuasive communications or compelling cases for support.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Fundraising, the Corporate Fundraising Manager will lead on the development and delivery of an ambitious strategy to grow corporate fundraising income for The National Brain Appeal. The role will have a particular focus on securing new business, identifying and cultivating relationships with major corporate partners, and building a strong pipeline of opportunities.
Working closely with colleagues across the philanthropy team, the postholder will develop compelling funding propositions, approach prospective partners, and negotiate and secure significant corporate partnerships.
