The role
The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) is looking for an experienced professional to review and transform our current membership and marketing functions. In this pivotal role, you’ll shape and deliver a unified, efficient, and future-focused engagement strategy that reflects the evolving needs of our members.
You will lead and support a talented team, which includes the Enquiries Team and the Membership and Marketing Manager, ensuring we have the right structures, systems, and capacity in place to deliver outstanding service. Job Purpose
The Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the day to day running of the business. They will support the delivery of projects whilst working with Project Managers. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the successful post holder will have effective organisational skills and be able to plan/prioritise the delivery of work. They will have strong communications skills, both orally and in writing, and have the ability to establish working relations with a range of stakeholders.
The role also requires some degree of client and stakeholder facing, requiring a high level of inter-personal skills and personal confidence. Having a respectful and empathetic attitude will be essential, with the capacity to manage highly sensitive, complex and confidential information.
Key Result Areas/Duties
1. To be the first point of contact for the business daily.
2. Use and populate / edit data on CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
3. Produce meeting minutes and notes that summarise meeting content, including key topics, group decisions and ideas utilising a range of tools and resources including AI.
4. Utilise project management software to record and monitor project planning and project tasks and to keep project deliverables on task and escalate when required.
5. Preparation or finalisation, monitoring, and maintenance of the following documents/reports: project brief, project plan, communication briefings, risk register.
6. Liaise with the team to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated by related projects.
7. Support the procurement team in the management of tenders from social media marketing and logging/updating application to compiling supplier performance monitoring and reporting.
8. To be able to manage telephone and personal contact from other staff members and external persons with intelligence, foresight, and sensitivity, strongly respecting the need for confidentiality.
9. Provide administrative support, including diary management and arranging meetings for staff and team.
10. Be responsible for prioritising own workload efficiently, including maintenance of diary and management of overall team, responsiveness to emails, ensuring strict deadlines are met.

Person Specification
Essential
The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and have GCSEs in Maths and English at grades A–C (or equivalent). They will be computer literate with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and will demonstrate accurate keyboard skills with strong attention to detail.
They will have experience working as part of a team as well as independently, and be confident in managing diaries and taking accurate minutes. They will be familiar with office systems and procedures, and possess a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
Candidates must have extensive experience using the internet and email systems, and have proven ability in organising meetings and disseminating information to stakeholders effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a professional and courteous telephone manner.
Applicants should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and fluently. They must be capable of working under pressure, solving problems, and responding to challenging situations with resilience and flexibility. A commitment to confidentiality and sensitivity is also essential.
The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy, deadline-driven environment is required. Candidates must be able to work from Compass Wellbeing’s office, with some flexibility for occasional remote working.
Desirable
It would be advantageous for candidates to have training or experience in project management methodologies and documentation. Practical experience of working in a busy office environment and familiarity with project management skills are also desirable.
Candidates with knowledge of the Data Protection Act will be well suited to the responsibilities of the role. Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and a willingness to travel outside of London for project needs are also beneficial for this position.

At United for Global Mental Health, we work with trusted partners to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and increase support for mental health worldwide.
The United for Global Mental Health team is made up of diverse, passionate and knowledgeable individuals based in the UK and in countries around the world. By combining our extensive in-house expertise in advocacy, financing and campaigning with the unique insights of our many partners, we’re making progress on ensuring that everyone, everywhere has someone to turn to in support of their mental health. What will I be doing?
This role will support the delivery of several activities within our portfolio of activities on climate change, the environment, and mental health. The four main areas of work that the Senior Officer will be responsible for include:

Leading work with national partners (50% of post)

Integration of people with lived experience (hereafter referred to as PWLE) across the portfolio (25% of post)

Developing our advocacy on the intersection of air pollution and mental health (15% of post)
-
Developing our advocacy on the intersection of biodiversity loss and mental health (10% of post)
National level work (50% of post)
A key component of the current project will be to support national partners in a subset of countries globally (approximately 6 countries) to advocate for action on climate change and mental health. The final set of countries is yet to be defined but will likely include one country per WHO region and one country from the Small Islands Developing States. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

Lead in the selection of national partners in each country. This will include supporting the running of a competitive process to select one civil-society organisation based in each country to conduct the work

Strengthen the capacity of national partners to work on climate change and mental health (e.g., via training to national partners to be delivered by the Senior Officer), if required

Support national partners in advocating for the integration of mental health into climate policies, including but not limited to Nationally Determined Contributions, National Adaptation Plans, Heat Health Action Plans etc.

Lead in cohort-building activities for this subset of countries (e.g., organising regular meetings, ensuring shared learnings etc.)

With the support of our Operations team, support in the logistics of sub-contracting national partners and monitoring deliverables
Involvement of people with lived experience (25% of post)
The meaningful engagement of PWLE of mental health challenges is central to all work at United for Global Mental Health. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

Leading on setting up and coordinating a Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG), which will meet every two months to provide guidance to UnitedGMH and national partners on their work on climate and health. The Senior Officer will be responsible for recruiting approximately 12 PWLE (2 x WHO region), organising regular meetings, and ensuring that the feedback of PWLE is integrated across different projects

Support the attendance of PWLE to key global advocacy moments in a meaningful, safe, and impactful way

Support national partners on the integration of lived experience considerations in their work on climate change and mental health
Work on air pollution and mental health (15% of post)
The evidence on air pollution and mental health is a nascent, but rapidly growing, area of interest. The specific responsibilities of this component will include:

Scope what concrete opportunities exist for integrating mental health considerations into air pollution policies at the global, regional, and national levels

We are looking for a thoughtful, relational and data savvy Individual Giving and Philanthropy Lead to strengthen and grow our community of supporters. Main Responsibilities:
Working with the CEO, trustees corporate partnerships and communications team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Individual Giving and Donors: develop, manage, monitor and improve the individual giving fundraising portfolio - with the initial aim of generating in excess of £250,000 per annum from individual giving.
- Relationships with local churches and their congregations: work with the trustees and senior leadership team to deepen our relationships with out (cross denominational) member churches and to build links with additional churches in and near the area and local umbrella Christian organisations.
- Relationships with local institutions: work with other local institutions such as schools and business to find individual donors who will financially support Pecan's work. .
- Fundraising Appeals: coordinate fundraising appeals including the Pecan and Foodbank Christmas fundraising campaign, Big Give Campaigns, and other appeals across all income and media streams.
- Fundraising Systems and Processes: Oversee our fundraising systems and processes using our new CRM (Beacon) to ensure data is accurate, GDPR compliant, segmented and usable for effective analysis, reporting and engagement.
Key Requirements (specific skills, qualifications required):
- Proven experience in individual giving fundraising, including appeals and donor journeys.
- Experience managing and stewarding a portfolio of regular and one-off donors.
- Experience of using and maintaing a fundraising CRM (e.g. Beacon, Raiser's Edge, Donorfy, Salesforce), including data segmentation and analysis.

Overview of the role
As the Fundraising Officer, you will play a key role in delivering a range of fundraising appeals and our individual and regular giving programmes. Overcoming MS Strategy
Our strategy for 2024 to 2026 establishes five key objectives:
Raise awareness within the global MS community of the importance of healthy lifestyle and the Overcoming MS Program.
Deliver world class information, tools and support to the Overcoming MS community, empowering them with the confidence and knowledge to follow, understand and share the Program, wherever they start.
Build the authority of Overcoming MS through developing team expertise, communicating the existing evidence base, building new evidence, and through influencing and working in partnerships.
Grow a collaborative, knowledgeable, passionate and sustainable team of staff, facilitators and volunteers.
Develop financial growth and independence through reducing our cost base, increasing fundraising via diversified activity, and generating income through other sources.
Job Description
The Healthcare Partnerships Lead will be responsible for the delivery of our Healthcare Engagement Strategy, through the development and delivery of projects and activities which embrace collaboration, raise the profile and credibility of both the Overcoming MS charity and Program, and extend supported self- management of MS within the health and social sector. We want to be the go-to charity for lifestyle and living well with MS and to demonstrate the added value we bring through education, resources, community and partnership working.
The past 12 months have seen the laying of a strong foundation for both increasing credibility and collaboration. This has included identifying barriers to supporting self-management in MS, developing education, piloting projects and resources to overcome some of those barriers in partnership with healthcare professionals. Honing datasets and presenting these meaningfully, has added credibility and demonstrated value. We want to see that foundation built on further, and shared more widely, taken forward by the new Healthcare Partnerships Lead.
Key Responsibilities
· The successful delivery of the Healthcare Engagement Strategy, identifying and prioritising engagement with our key audiences and stakeholders.
· Working closely with both our Medical Advisor, Information and Research Manager (new role) and with the existing HCP Advisory Group and wider engaged healthcare partners, to facilitate the development of the relationship, profile and reach between the charity and the health and social care sectors. Around information sharing, service design, and understanding of the role of lifestyle in holistic management of MS.
· Identifying and attending key healthcare events and conferences, building networks, partnerships and other resources to increase knowledge and awareness of how the charity and Overcoming MS Program, benefits people with MS and maximise opportunities for signposting.
· Building frameworks for data gathering and evaluation to effectively review benefit of collaborative interventions and report outcomes widely and meaningfully, in partnership with the Information and Research Manager.
· Maintaining understanding of policy and priorities of healthcare agencies to ensure mutual or aligned priorities from both, in addition to people living with MS, are all factors taken into consideration when developing plans and pathways.
· Identifying opportunities for collaboration and partnership working through engagement with HCP professionals and organisations.
· Lead on healthcare education through our existing partnership with the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine, marketing the education widely, evaluating its benefit to HCPs and strategically reviewing the format, vehicle and content as appropriate.
· Providing clear, responsive and consistent educational content around the importance of lifestyle choices and behaviours to healthcare professionals based on the current evidence-base and the Overcoming MS Program, working closely with the Information & Research Manager to ensure up-to-date and validated content.
Other Responsibilities
· Creating meaningful engagement with the MS community and healthcare professional partners, widening our reach to support more people with MS.
· Mapping local assets and services to target and test appropriate resources and support to MS clinics, to help HCPs share information and support their patients to self-manage, tracking success.
· Empowering people affected by MS and their healthcare professionals to discuss lifestyle modification and the Overcoming MS Program with confidence, improving self-management and health outcomes.
· Engaging new HCP audiences, reducing barriers and perceptions of lifestyle modification in the treatment of MS.
· Leading on the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of key programmes, considering key insight, collecting and analysing data to measure impact against project and charity targets.
· Supporting the delivery of key products, services and events both in person and online that reach multiple audiences and budgeting accordingly.
· Identifying opportunities for accessing funding streams, working with Fundraising colleagues to diversify our income base.
· Raising our profile within the healthcare environment so that they recommend the charity and will advocate on our behalf.
· As we are a small, busy charity, all staff help with the general running of the organisation in addition to their specific role activities.
About you
Education or experience in a related field e.g. healthcare management, public health, you’ll have a strong understanding of the NHS, Public Health and the UK health care policy landscape. Knowledge of the global health care landscape would be an advantage but not essential.
You’ll have previous experience as a senior healthcare lead or similar role for example within the NHS or similar medical field or will have experience leading community or public health related engagement programmes.
With excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, including working with stakeholders at very senior and professional levels, you’ll have strategic analytical skills, able to frame problems and solutions in a logical fashion and demonstrate a high degree of empathy and compassion for health-related issues.
You’ll have intellectual flexibility, able to embrace and deal with ambiguity, complexity and to be open to creativity in leading and bringing about effective change.
You are comfortable working remotely and attending events during evenings and weekends, with a full UK driving licence and access to a car.
