About the role
Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. If you are seeking a dynamic and engaging fundraising role which offers you the chance to play a pivotal role within a small but ambitious organisation, then this could be the job for you.
You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships (ideally with experience and success in employee engagement, corporate sponsorship, and/or operational partnerships).
The role also line manages the Senior Fundraising Officer post, a position that provides administrative and fundraising support across the whole fundraising team. Please note that we are a small team and so you’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help out team members and to support new business across other restricted income streams.

About the role:
This role is based in our office at Whitecross Studio's, 50 Banner Street, London, with flexibility of hybrid working. The role requires travelling to other VS offices across London.
As a Senior Children and Young Persons Caseworker, you will be required to:
- Conduct risk assessment to ensure each CYP receives a tailored support that meets their needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support
- Provide one to one support to children & young people who are a victim or witness to a crime & advocate on their behalf
- Manage a caseload of different risk level cases & regularly review risk
- Make any necessary referrals to MARAC & follow local safeguarding processes
- Involve children & young people in making decisions about themselves & the development of the service.
- Establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing & attend meetings as required
- Manage up to 4 staff, conducting supervisions & case reviews, providing support & coaching as required
You will need:
- Experience of working directly with vulnerable children and young people
- Knowledge of risk assessment & actions required to safeguard children & young people
- An understanding of the issues for children & young people experiencing crime
- Experience of building relationships & delivering effective multi-agency a partnership work

WHO WE ARE
We are a leading mental health charity on a mission to support Londoners with mental health challenges find and remain in good employment as part of their mental health recovery journey. THE OPPORTUNITY

THE ROLE – SENIOR EMPLOYMENT ADVISORS
Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs) will manage a team of Employment Advisers to provide supervision, training, caseload management, and role modelling best practice approaches to job retention. The SEA will play a pivotal role in managing a high-quality service that meets the exacting standards of our commissioners and delivers positive outcomes for service users.
Providing vision and direction, you will lead the development of our network of relationships, building capacity and ensuring the success of our job retention services across all providers. Making sure our clients receive the best service to meet their needs, you will be comfortable in managing contracts against our agreed service objectives and performance outcomes. Uppermost in your mind, will be building strong collaborative working relationships in your community with our partners.
This role would ideally suit someone experienced in employment support and managing a small team, however, we will consider applicants with transferable skills from relevant fields (e.g. psychology, counselling, human resources or recruitment).
SENIOR EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Manage a high performance, quality-driven service. You will be required to lead by example in line with our values, motivate the team and demonstrate best practice principles of delivering a job retention service. This will include managing direct reports and working alongside managers and frontline staff and members of partner/commissioner organisations.
2. Deliver a role with a dual responsibility to clinical partners/therapeutic services and Twining, while complying with Twining’s internal procedures and all relationships, both internally and externally.
3. Monitor and manage performance of the Employment Advisors (EAs), carry out monthly 1-2-1 meetings, quarterly performance appraisal reviews, managing the full spectrum of employee relations issues, the wellbeing of your staff and guiding EAs both individually and collectively on the achievement of individual and team performance targets.
4. Manage a small caseload advising and supporting clients to address problems in the workplace to help them return to work, remain in work, or find new employment.
5. Submit accurate, timely monthly reports to the Service Lead and any other management information requested on the performance and delivery of the service.
6. Produce regular monitoring reports for external stakeholders, including commissioners.
7. Create a culture of continuous improvement, taking ownership for problems, adopting forward thinking strategies for improvement in everything we do and take the lead on making change happen.
8. Identify barriers for service excellence and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement solutions to ensure a high-performance service.
9. Identify, devise and lead on the training needs of staff and arrange appropriate training to support with continuous professional development.
10. Support the design and delivery of in-house staff training and development (including facilitating peer learning and best practice).
11. Lead on presentations, network meetings, site meetings or any other people-facing activity required of the service.
12. Coordinate the work of EAs to build relationships with local employers to access the hidden labour market, external agencies and delivery of job seeking groups.
13. Provide solution focused monthly supervisions and case management for each EA as well as those with other providers/partners.
14. Guide, mentor and coach the EA team to deliver on objectives that will assist in helping a programme participant to return to work and decrease the likelihood of further absence in the future.
15. Ensure that client satisfaction is a high priority in everything we do and facilitate a range of opportunities for them to feedback on the service whether through surveys, interviews or other platforms and use the information gained to review and develop the service.
16. Involve service users in co-production of service developments where possible.
17. Meet with line managers from partner organisations to discuss and agree priorities and work plans.
18. Attend network meetings, or other partnership working and team meetings, as appropriate.
19. Develop relationships with local employers in order to promote good practice approaches to managing mental or physical health in the workplace.
20. Develop relationships with a range of external agencies that help individuals to achieve their employment goals.
21. Perform other tasks as required by your manager.
The role holder must also:
1. Pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an Enhanced level.
2. Possess excellent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office software, as well as experience updating and maintaining databases.

Role Purpose
The purpose of the Fundraiser role is primarily to raise funds from UK trusts, foundations and statutory funders and to identify, generate, grow and maintain this vital income stream. Some engagement to support other strands of fundraising will be required.
Context
The post-holder will work to the Chief Financial Officer and closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other managers of Cathedral teams. Their role will involve research and information gathering on potential donors and funding opportunities, a creative and broad approach to application planning and writing, good written and interpersonal skills and attention to detail in managing application and post-grant reporting processes. It requires the post holder to take a wide interest in all aspects of Cathedral life in order to deliver effective funding support to the work of colleagues.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Research and Identification of Funders
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our research projects and research funding plans, including in response to requests from Heads of Department and Senior Management Team;
- Research, identify and prioritise potential grants, personal & institutional trusts and statutory funders and funding opportunities, including keeping up to date with new fundraising opportunities in the faith and heritage sectors and in London;
- Undertake research on funders and grant making bodies to assess their potential for funding opportunities;
- Gather information and budgetary information from cathedral colleagues as required by potential funders;
- Develop and write high quality, compelling fundraising proposals and applications which communicate Southwark Cathedral’s funding needs clearly and concisely;
- Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to develop a compelling case for support documents and other donor materials to attract support for our research projects;
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of applications to trusts & foundations.
Fundraising
- Secure funding from UK trusts, foundations and statutory funding bodies to meet Budgetary targets and support proposed future projects at the Cathedral;
- Support the implementation of a trusts and foundations programme, with a view to increasing funding for flagship projects alongside core unrestricted funding;
- Assist with the organisation of fundraising events as required;
- Ensure approaches to trusts and other donors are streamlined and targeted.
Contact and Liaison
- Manage the Cathedral’s donor records including gift aid declarations, personal information and legacy pledges and other non-financial information provided by donors - adhering to data protection best practice at all times;
- Liaise with the Marketing & Communications Manager to analyse the existing donor communications and suggest improved methods of engagement;
- Liaise with the Marketing & Communications Manager to arrange for the creation and maintenance of pages on the Cathedral website that highlight the fundraising activity and communicate successes achieved;
- Act as the primary point of contact for all existing and potential trust and grants funders, directing enquiries as appropriate;
- Develop a network of strong relationships with existing and prospective grant, trust and statutory funders;
- Organise meetings and events for prospective supporters and provide briefings for colleagues.
Information Management, Monitoring and Evaluation
- Maintain the Cathedral’s fundraising database, ensuring all records are updated and maintained correctly in accordance with the Cathedral’s data protection policy;
- Manage the reporting, recording and administration progress of existing grants, advising relevant members of the team well in advance of reporting deadlines;
- Work with others to develop and implement effective evaluation, monitoring and reporting processes for funders, and ensure reporting requirements are fulfilled and activities remain outcome and impact focused;
- Manage and maintain records and monitor progress of applications and relationships, including working to agreed KPIs;
- Prepare regular progress reports on fundraising and activities for SMT and the Chapter as required;
- Use the Cathedral’s fundraising database to analyse the success rates to support fundraising strategy and individual projects;
- Work with the Finance team to ensure that all funding is quickly and correctly processed and acknowledged and that financial reports are available in the appropriate format;
- Work with the Governance & Committees Manager and Finance Team to support reporting requirements and compliance with the relevant legislation and codes of conduct;
- Work with the COO and Marketing & Communications Manager to create appropriate evaluation and legacy documentation.
Other
- Manage the relevant administration that accompanies this role, including booking meetings and taking minutes as required;
- Play an active role as a member of the Cathedral team, supporting each other as required;
- Be an ambassador for the Cathedral and assist the Fundraising Advisory Panel in developing positive relationships with the Cathedral’s key stakeholders.

Person Specification
Knowledge/Experience
- You will have experience of writing fundraising bids and completing engaging applications;
- You will have knowledge and experience of heritage, community or religious grant-funding sources and how to access them;
- You will have experience of handling applications and administrative procedures for grants;
- You will be proficient in project finances, and budgeting, with skills in persuasion, advocacy, problem-solving, and decision-making;
- Knowledge of best practice in the trusts sector is important;
- You will have strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills;
- Experience in a small or medium-sized charitable organisation;
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising is desirable.

Terms and Conditions
Working Hours
The working hours shall be 35 hours per week (exclusive of meal breaks). Some out of hours working will be required to support meetings and events and this will be notified in advance. Time off in lieu will be awarded in line with Southwark Cathedral’s policy.
Annual Leave
25 days per annum as well as statutory bank holidays, with an additional 5 days (pro-rata) after 10 years service.
Probation
The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.
Season Ticket Loan
Once the probationary period has been completed satisfactorily, the person appointed will be eligible to take out a season ticket loan.
Pension
The person appointed will be eligible to join a defined contributions pension scheme managed by the Church Workers Pension Fund. The Cathedral will contribute half of the annual premium of 10% of salary.
Working Expenses

Bonny Downs Community Association has been working together to change lives and transform our community since 1998. Over the past 25 years our team has grown to provide a wide array of services that benefit Newham residents from all walks of life.

Staff from each organisation will work together to deliver the programme and cross-refer young people to activities led by both teams. You will also be required to work with BDCA’s own Children & Families team during the summer scheme and liaise with our marketing team all year round. External partner agencies that you will work directly with include Thriving Communities panel, Newham Youth Empowerment Service, Newham Community Engagement Team, local sports clubs and schools.

We are a leading mental health charity on a mission to support Londoners with mental health challenges find and remain in good employment as part of their mental health recovery journey. We have been changing lives for almost 30 years and we have just secured a large contract, submitted in partnership with Shaw Trust and Smart London, to provide Employment Advisors to support NHS Talking Therapy teams across West London. THE OPPORTUNITY
We are now inviting suitable candidates to apply for the role of Service Lead. This position will manage a team of around 20 Employment Advisors (EAs) and Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs). The role will be guided and supported by a Head of Services, as well as Twining’s established and experienced Senior Leadership Team and Trustees.

THE ROLE – SERVICE LEAD
You will be responsible for the ongoing day to day leadership and management of the Employment Advisors (EAs) and Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs) in Talking Therapies service across Ealing, Harrow and Hounslow.
You will liaise with managers, clinicians and GPs across the NHS primary care pathways to ensure that services are coordinated and pathways into, and out of, the service are managed effectively and efficiently.
You will ensure the service operates in line with national guidance related to Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies and gives consideration to wider disability employment and retention support models, whilst striving to achieve and maintain national best practice in this field.
You will ensure the team develops in a manner that facilitates clients being referred to the service quickly, so they do not remain unsupported whilst on sick leave, and then support them to return to work swiftly (where appropriate), or to follow the destination that is best suited to their circumstances, enabling individuals to achieve positive service experience outcomes.
You will work in partnership with key stakeholders and contract managers.
This role will require someone experienced in leading the delivery of a mental health support programme, whilst managing and meeting commissioner performance expectations.
SERVICE LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. To develop and manage the Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies Service, providing high quality, timely assessment and support interventions, including signposting for specialist external advice such as ACAS, welfare benefits advice, union or specialist employment law advice.
2. To have specialist knowledge and understanding of employment support and retention to be able to promote an early intervention model, which predominately focusing on supporting people into their preferred job choice, supporting them to remain in work, or enabling them to gain early access to advice and support to reduce the risk of not starting or losing their employment.
3. To manage the performance activity, data quality and service delivery of the team and ensure they provide an integrated and effective service.
4. To ensure the staff have an understanding of the process and philosophy of the positive benefits that work can have on an individual’s health, as well as understanding the benefit of early intervention and support for those at risk of losing their employment due to poor mental health, disabilities, health conditions or issues at work.
5. To oversee the development of new initiatives within the Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies Service in line with national best practice and planning capacity for the team to meet the anticipated increases in demand for the service as a result of changes in the economy or incidence of poor mental health.
6. Ensure the service works within national and locally agreed frameworks and develop key performance indicators if none exist.
7. To ensure that the team has appropriate arrangements in place to guarantee that efficient, effective, equitable and economical services are provided to all clients.
8. To respond to complaints and suggestions from clients and carers in accordance with policies and procedures, and to participate as appropriate in the investigation of complaints, grievances, significant events and disciplinary manners in accordance with polices and present the outcome of the investigations to the relevant personnel.
9. To lead the team in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice.
10. To monitor the workload and performance of team members using electronic systems to monitor performance.
11. Provide reports to senior managers and stakeholders regarding activity and exception reports for information.
12. To provide regular line management supervision to members of the team.
