Job description

About us

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.

About the Role

As part of our commitment to this, we have embarked on a multi-year, cross-organisational transformation programme with a vision to harness the power of data, digital and technology to help us end homelessness sooner.

People are at the heart of any successful transformation, and we are now looking for a Senior Communications Officer to join our Programme team and ensure that we listen and work with our colleagues at Crisis, developing a strategy and approach to change communications and engagement that allows us to:

  • Understand, anticipate and respond to questions and change impact we may have in Crisis through the Programme’s work,
  • Design and deliver on opportunities to increase the impact of the Programme through excellent communication (internally and externally), and
  • Articulate the programme itself, the reasons for it and the impact we will have in a clear and engaging way that ultimately leaves our colleagues with a strong understanding of the work and feeling positive about digital, data and technology.

This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

About You

Good communication is an essential ingredient of any successful change programme. As our Senior Communications Officer – Data, Digital & Technology Transformation, you will put your previous experience of working in change or internal communications, and your track record of developing and delivering impactful content and campaigns, to good use in quickly building a transparent, accessible and people-focused approach that will help us deliver powerful change through communications.

We believe diversity is a strength, and our aim is to make sure that Crisis truly reflects the communities we serve. We are actively working towards our organisation being a place where everyone can thrive and make their best contribution to our mission of ending homelessness for good. We know that the more perspectives, voices, and experiences we can bring to this work, the better. We particularly welcome applications from people who have lived experience of homelessness, and people from all marginalised groups, communities and backgrounds.

Interest free loans to purchase a train season ticket or a bike or for a deposit to secure a tenancy

Mandatory pension scheme, with an employer contribution of 8.5%

25 days’ annual leave which increases with service to 28 days
