Regional Manager – Charity Networks (18 Month FTC)
Field Based (covering the North West)
Who Are We?
We are FareShare, the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste. We are a charitable distribution network that takes excess, in-date and good to eat food and redistributes it to other charities that turn it into meals.
The numbers say it all; in 2018 we collected 20,383 tonnes of food and we sent it to our 22 regional centres across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland that reach 1,960 towns and cities. From there, we passed the food to 10,943 different charities and community groups who turned it into 46.5 million meals for vulnerable people.
We’re an incredible organisation, multi award winners, lottery funded and a member of both the European Federations of Food Banks and The Global Foodbanking Network.
We’re now looking for a Regional Manager to continue to grow and support our Network for an 18 month fixed-term contract. Internally this role is known as a Network Development Manager.
The Benefits
- Salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
- Flexibility for home working
- Expenses paid
- Pension
- Travelcard loans
- Cycle to work scheme
- Employee assistance programme
Joining our diverse, passionate team across the North West, you will have the chance to learn everything about our operations and help to make real improvements and an impact.
Our Network spans over 10,000 charities and community groups, from just a few people helping out their neighbourhoods to considerable organisations who are impacting city-wide issues. At every step, you will discover new stories, fantastic work and heroic efforts from all manner of volunteers, charity workers or just those who want to help.
We understand our work makes a difference but that there is more still to do. The food surplus in the UK is phenomenal and we are working towards a target of 20-25% of all food being redistributed. Through your efforts we can achieve this this.
So, if you are a proven regional or national partnership professional with strategic level account management experience, this is the ideal role in which to continue your career track and help us to make a difference.
The Role
As a Regional Manager, you will be tasked with providing direction and support to regional staff and the FareShare Network.
We work with multiple regional partners to fulfil our ambitious targets and you will play a vital role in building our network infrastructure that will support collaborative working. You will also be vital to our charity acquisition, growth and support activities.

- The ability to work on your own initiative, organise your own workload and work to deadlines and standards
Any experience of working in the following areas would be beneficial to your application: project management, food distribution, warehousing operation or partnerships.
Experience of working with volunteers would also be an advantage, as would an understanding of the food industry and supply chain.
Regional management experience gained within a national organisation would be equally desirable, as would experience of monitoring performance.
Other organisations may call this role Network Development Manager, Charity Network Manager, Regional Network Manager, Territory Network Manager, Regional Operations Manager, or Northern Regional Manager.
The closing date for this role is the 20th December 2019.
