The Trusts and Foundations Officer will support the Trusts and Foundations team to meet income targets and develop and maintain relationships with donors and prospects. The role combines supporting the Trusts and Foundations Manager, Senior Trusts Officer, and Head of Fundraising with the maintenance of existing relationships as well as generating their own income from both smaller and larger trusts. The successful candidate will demonstrate success in securing grants from charitable trusts, foundations, and institutional donors. Proven experience in trust and foundation fundraising, preferably within the nonprofit sector or a similar environment is essential.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated candidate who is looking for a career in fundraising. The role has responsibility for engaging and growing membership, including continuing to build the expanding corporate partner network, which includes large global blue-chip companies as well as SMEs. Responsibilities also include management of the team of six to deliver the range of membership programmes including the awards programme, careers programmes and the innovation programmes. The role sits on the Senior Management Team responsible for driving the strategy of the charity.
Key areas of responsibility are:
§ Growing membership and membership income.
§ Management of the growing blue-chip Corporate Partners Network.
§ Management of the SCI Awards Programme with awards across the range of early, mid, and senior levels.
§ Management of the SCI Early Career programmes, including the College of Scholars and the SCIdea Entrepreneurs Programme.
§ Coordination of the Innovation Programmes (in collaboration with the CEO and Head of Innovation).

· Honours degree in STEM or an area related to SCI activity.
· Minimum of 15 years in a senior membership/customer or relationship management role.

- Demonstrable experience of generating income and working to agreed financial targets.
- Energetic and able to engage proactively in the development and delivery of the strategy.
- Excellent leadership skills. Initiative-taking and positive, able to inspire the team.
- Able to multitask, manage own and team workload, and to meet deadlines.

In this key role, you will lead and implement the safeguarding strategy, working closely with the Director of Delivery and Impact and with the Senior Leadership Team providing advice and updates regarding safeguarding and risk management to our Board, various committees, and teams. You will work closely across functions but particularly within the programmes team, supporting the safer programming of our young people across 20 countries via a network of in-country delivery partners. You will have extensive experience of supporting organisations to deliver safe and impactful programmes, having developed the systems process and frameworks to support this. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to adapt your communication style to diverse audiences both in the UK and internationally, with the ability to produce and deliver engaging and culturally relevant training. A team player, you will work well across teams with a proactive and solutions focused attitude. Strong written skills are key, and you will be confident in the production and writing of necessary reports for both senior colleagues, external stakeholders, and programmes teams.

Responsibilities include:
Leadership, Strategy and Governance
- To be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind our strategic plan.
- To contribute to strategic discussions on the future direction of the organisation.

Fundraising and Development
- To co-design and write grant applications and secure grant funding from Trusts, Foundations or Corporate entities in line with our annual target (likely to be in the range of £400k-£500k).
- To work with the Partnerships Manager to secure Fundraising income from individual givers, major donors, Crowdfunding campaigns and other fundraising initiatives in line with our annual target (likely to be in the range of £200k).
- To develop and execute an annual fundraising strategy: building a sustainable portfolio consisting of grants and donations from individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations, to ensure long-term sustainable funding of activities.
- To research and prospect future funders.
- To maintain precise and up-to-date records on current and potential supporters and prospects.
- To create engaging fundraising communication tools.
- To establish partnerships for joint programmes and funding bids where beneficial.
Donor stewardship & reporting
- To retain current donors and maximise fundraising opportunities, including delivering a programme of appropriate stewardship opportunities with the core team.
- To work with the team to co-design programmes and their evaluation requirements to ensure the organisation meets the grant funders' requirements.
- To complete reporting to grant funders, including developing report templates, creating reports, case studies, and other administrative requirements.
Communications
- To input into MIH’S communications strategy and the planning and implementation of improvements to marketing plans, digital presence and social media strategy to ensure impact and fundraising successes are communicated
- To maintain a stock of impact-focused case studies and success stories and ensure fundraising successes are communicated on social media and online.
- To ensure the robust monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and campaigns; providing key input to the annual report and impact report.
- To coordinate fundraising events with the Community Partnerships Manager.
Line Management
- To have direct line management responsibility for the Community Partnerships Manager and Social Media & Marketing Manager, creating a supportive environment for growth and development.

The Dalit Solidarity Network UK is a small human rights organisation working to eliminate caste-based discrimination in the UK and South Asia. Registering as an official charity in 2003, Dalit Solidarity Network UK continues to grow as an effective campaigning and advocacy organisation, working on the issue of caste discrimination in the UK and being an active player in the global movement. Our major areas of work include documenting 'everyday casteism', building capacity of businesses to address caste-discrimination in overseas supply chains and UK operations and working with UK Higher Education Institutions to protect against caste-discrimination.
Summary of the role:
We are seeking a new Director who will be responsible for working with the Board to:
i) Develop and deliver of DSN-UK's overall strategy and objectives;
ii) Provide strategic leadership to influence the policy and practice of key stakeholders to further DSN’s vision of a ‘world without caste discrimination’;
iii) Lead overall management of DSN-UK, including management of DSN-UK staff, its finances and other resources.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Leadership and strategy
Responsible for implementing DSN-UK’s strategy through specific campaign, lobbying and advocacy activities, including development of key messages and influencing strategies.
Maintaining partnerships and network support within the UK, with partners in South Asia and international partners.
Conducting joint advocacy at UK/EU/UN level, representing these issues at UK Government level and participating in other joint initiatives as appropriate.
Operational Management
Responsible for the day-to-day management of DSN-UK, including key aspects of its internal administration, particularly providing oversight of financial management, annual budgets and the preparation of regular financial and programme reports for the Board.
Fundraising:
Leading the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy for DSN-UK, preparing funding proposals and reporting to donors on project achievements.
Human Resources:
Managing one part time office administrator and appointing other staff, volunteers and consultants in consultation with the Chair.

The Director of Finance Business Partnering (Operations) is a critical role within the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance division that will lead, develop and deliver high quality finance business partnering and decision support to all the central services of the university, including providing financial planning, reporting and insight across revenue and capital funded activity.
You will support the senior Director of the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance function in development and improvement projects.
