This is an innovative charity which aims to help Muslims calculate and give Zakat to those in need across the UK. An exciting opportunity exists for a Head of Marketing to join the team. As Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for growing brand awareness, strengthening donor engagement, managing their digital presence and delivering high-quality content. You will lead a small team covering social media, content and creative, and corporate communications ensuring their work is aligned with the charity’s mission. This is a full-time, permanent role remote working, with 1-2 days a month in London for meetings (reasonable travel expenses covered within UK).
Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have at least five years’ senior experience within a digital and performance marketing environment. You will have extensive understanding of integrated marketing campaigns and executing channel marketing at pace and efficiency. Knowledge of planning, executing and/or managing all digital marketing activities across SE, Email, Social and PPC is essential for this role. You will be highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that inform, educate, inspire and convince prospecting, existing and lapsed givers. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent influencing skills with donors, colleagues, and partners. You will possess a cultural awareness and be able to communicate sensitively within faith-based contexts.

You’ll develop relationships with existing and new business supporters, deliver engaging communications, and support the growth of income from companies, all while helping to protect butterflies, moths and the environment we all depend on.
Job Purpose
• Managing and growing relationships with existing corporate donors
• Identifying and developing new corporate support
• Providing an outstanding supporter experience for our corporate supporters
Main Responsibilities
1. To directly manage a portfolio of corporate supporters, ensuring excellent stewardship and customer experience in order to meet agreed income targets and KPIs and maximise income for BC.
2. Develop and prepare tailored cases for support, proposals, reports and bespoke updates and communications to donors.
3. Identify, nurture, develop and manage new and existing corporate supporters including producing and communicating inspiring funding opportunities aimed at specific organisations.
4. Negotiate and deliver partnership agreements ensuring delivery against agreed targets and a good return on investment for the charity.
5. Monitor income targets and activities for Trading and Corporate fundraising including reporting to the BC Trading Company Board.
6. In conjunction with the Digital Manager, manage BC’s website shop portals and commercial partnerships to ensure a good level of royalties, proactive marketing, and supply of ethically sourced and sustainable goods.
7. Liaise with Communications and PR Team to ensure effective promotion of corporate and business agreements and timely reporting back on campaigns.
8. Update and maintain records of all business and corporate approaches, communications and agreements on the CRM and appropriate files.
9. Advise Branch volunteers where they seek to establish business support for their activities.
10. Where required, develop and/or follow policies and procedures on due diligence, data management, account management, stewardship, and reporting.

About The Role
The overall remit of this role is to:

Lead prospect research and funding trends analysis, identifying strategic opportunities and informing fundraising strategy

Strategically map, expand, and cultivate high-value supporter networks, taking ownership of key relationships

Design, implement, and optimise comprehensive stakeholder engagement journeys, ensuring a high-quality donor experience

Support good governance in Climate Catalyst by planning and organising the work of the board, with direction from the CEO

Lead and manage high-level stakeholder engagement strategies, including direct engagement with members of the Strategic Council to foster sustained partnerships.
What you will do
Strategic stakeholder relationship management, engagement and mapping (70%)

Strategically identify, research, and qualify high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate prospects, developing robust pipelines for major gifts.

Identify, cultivate, and steward significant donor relationships, focusing on securing major gifts and sustained funding.

Design, implement, and lead comprehensive donor cultivation and stewardship strategies, ensuring effective pipeline management and successful solicitation of significant contributions.

Develop and execute sophisticated communication plans tailored to specific donor segments, ensuring compelling messaging and impact reporting.

Prepare and deliver high quality briefings, proposals, and presentations for senior leadership to use in high-stakes donor meetings and engagements.

Support the development and updating of core project materials including key messages, Q&A, response lines, briefings and presentations, tailoring messages to specific audiences, to be used across multiple channels

Proactively analyse philanthropic trends, competitor activities, and funding opportunities to support the Director of Fundraising & Communications in adapting Climate Catalyst’s fundraising strategy

With support from the Digital Communications Manager, lead the strategic utilisation and optimisation of CRM and fundraising management tools to ensure data integrity, generate actionable insights, and support reporting on fundraising performance.
Board and Strategic Council support (30%)

Support good governance in Climate Catalyst - by developing the board workplan, organising meetings, securing inputs to these meetings, minute-taking, and ensure follow up on agreed actions (all with direction from the CEO)

Drive and support pro-active engagement between Climate Catalyst senior staff and individual members of the Strategic Council, with direction from the CEO

Drive and support pro-active and effective relationship management by the CEO with high-level partners and allies of Climate Catalyst, by planning, preparing and tracking engagement
What You Would Bring

Experience in managing and supporting the governance functions of boards or similar high-level advisory bodies, demonstrating autonomy and initiative.

Demonstrated success in managing complex stakeholder relationships, including foundations, high-net-worth individuals, institutional funders, and senior advisors

Exceptional project management, organisational, and administrative skills with a proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities and complex workflows.

Demonstrated track record of independently identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors or high-value foundations, resulting in significant grants or partnerships.

Strong understanding of philanthropic trends, fundraising best practices, and donor lifecycle management.

Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Hubspot, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) for donor management, pipeline tracking, and reporting, with an ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making.

Your Role in Our Vision
Join our Legacy Administration Team and manage a varied and active caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary bequests. This is a pivotal role, helping to ensure that every gift left to Marie Curie is handled with care, accuracy, and respect — enabling us to continue delivering our essential services.
Legacy income is one of the most significant sources of funding for our charity. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding and maximising that income through diligent case management, effective communication with solicitors and executors, and a firm understanding of probate law and best practice. Your work directly contributes to our ability to care for people affected by terminal illness.
Experience across all UK jurisdictions is not essential, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary legacies across the UK.
- Ensure Marie Curie receives its full legal entitlement, in line with Wills and settlements.
- Handle correspondence efficiently, updating records on our FirstClass 4 database and meeting internal service standards.
- Act as the lead charity where appropriate and liaise with co-beneficiaries.
- Monitor and progress open cases to ensure timely completion.
- Review estate accounts carefully, ensuring accuracy and appropriate application of tax exemptions.
- Obtain tax deduction certificates where cost-effective to do so.
- Ensure funds are allocated correctly to restricted or unrestricted purposes as specified in Wills.
- Comply with Law Society guidelines regarding Non-Contentious Costs.
- Represent Marie Curie’s interests in shared estates and collaborate with legal professionals and the public.
- Identify and escalate potential risks or disputes that may affect our entitlement.
- Seek opportunities to maximise the value of legacies and proactively manage estate assets.
- Support stewardship activity by working closely with the Legacy Marketing and Local Legacy teams.
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience in legacy administration.
- Experience working in or with the charity sector.
- ILM Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration, Law Degree, or relevant professional qualification.
- Strong understanding of probate law and estate management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised with a strong attention to detail.
- Confident using digital systems and databases.
