Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Management and leadership of the communications and marketing team.
- Deliver effective two-way communications activities that reach Westway Trust’s key audiences and give the Trust a good understanding of stakeholder sentiment.
- Be responsible for building and managing strategic partnerships.
- Be responsible for the impact measurement of the Trust’s engagement and consultation activities.
- Develop and deliver innovative marketing activities including newsletters that effectively promote the activities of the Trust and certain beneficiaries.
- Work with appropriate stakeholders to build and deliver a marketing and communications strategy to promote the Portobello area including associated materials, digital platforms and activity.
- Develop and deliver a strong strategy for the use of social media and website platforms in support of Westway Trust’s aims and objectives.

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes:
The post holder will have strong management skills, experience of working in complex marketing and communications environments, an ability to work across a range of communications and marketing disciplines, and a commitment to working alongside the people of North Kensington.
Essential:
- Proven track record of developing and delivering high-quality marketing and communications strategies across multiple channels.
- Strong copywriting skills including news features, press releases, social media, marketing materials and executive communications.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and navigating sensitive issues.
- Experience managing and developing a team to deliver a wide range of work to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrable experience managing budgets and external contractors/suppliers.
- Track record of advising senior executives and gaining buy-in for strategic plans.
- Solid understanding of digital marketing including SEO, Google Ads, CMS platforms, email marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp), and Google Analytics.
- Experience in PR and media relations, including building and maintaining a press database.
- Demonstrable commitment to equality of opportunity and understanding of the needs of diverse communities.
- Understanding of data protection legislation and GDPR as it applies to marketing databases.
- Capacity to effectively navigate, manage, and de-escalate challenging interpersonal situations, maintaining a supportive and resilient approach when working closely with vulnerable and traumatised groups.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualification (e.g. CIM, CIPR, or degree in marketing, communications or related field)
- Experience working in or with the charity, social enterprise, or community sector
- Knowledge of or connections to the North Kensington area
- Experience promoting community events, cultural programmes, or grant-funded activities
- Familiarity with online design tools like Adobe Pro, and Canva and project management tools like Asana.

· Experience translating requirements into user stories and delivery ready artefacts.
· Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (developers, testers, designers, product roles).
· Good understanding of Agile delivery practices (Scrum, Kanban) and practical application in real teams.

Main Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership, management and supervision to operational services that provide Family Time sessions, Family Outreach support and Volunteering support, plus perinatal support to families.
· Ensure that services are delivered to a good quality standard in relation to practice and performance and that services can demonstrate their impact using evidence based outcomes tools.

MAIN PURPOSE:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Fundraising Manager to lead and grow a diverse income portfolio across multiple fundraising disciplines.
This is a leadership role responsible for contributing to and delivering a national fundraising strategy aligned to Brainkind’s organisational priorities, financial sustainability goals, and growth ambitions.
The postholder will manage and develop a small fundraising team, embed high-performance standards, and drive income generation across statutory trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate partnerships, community fundraising, events, and individual giving.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
- Contribute to, develop and deliver a multi-year fundraising strategy to achieve sustainable income growth.
- Set and manage annual income targets exceeding £500k to £1m.
- Identify new income streams aligned to Brainkind’s service model and expansion priorities.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align fundraising with operational and strategic objectives.
Income Generation (All Disciplines)
Lead and oversee income generation across:
- Trusts & Foundations – Develop compelling proposals for health, social care and rehabilitation funding.
- Corporate Partnerships – Secure and manage mutually beneficial local partnerships.
- Community & Events Fundraising – Grow supporter-led activity nationally.
- Individual Giving & Digital Campaigns – Strengthen acquisition, retention and legacy programmes.
- Statutory & Health Sector Funding (where applicable outside commissioned services).
Team Management
- Line manage, coach and develop a small fundraising team.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Set KPIs and ensure strong pipeline management and reporting.
Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Act as an ambassador for Brainkind externally.
- Build strong internal relationships with operations, clinical teams, finance, and communications to gather impact data and case studies.
- Work closely with marketing/communications to strengthen brand-led fundraising campaigns.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and best practice (e.g. Fundraising Regulator, GDPR).
- Monitor ROI and cost-effectiveness across fundraising activities.
ABOUT YOU:
- Knowledge of a broad range of fundraising and charity sector activities.
- Knowledge of legal obligations for fundraising activities and all internal procedures and regulations and adherence to best practices, as defined by the organisation and Institute of Fundraising Code of Practice & Fundraising Regulator
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding fundraising income targets at £500k+ level (or comparable scale).
- Experience in managing successful campaigns, both digitally and within the community.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically-minded professional with a passion for responsible AI and digital innovation to play a central role in Elrha's growing portfolio of AI-focused work.
In this role you will have the opportunity to shape how Elrha integrates AI and digital tools across its humanitarian research and innovation work. You will lead the delivery of our AI Lighthouse partnership with NetHope, act as our internal responsible AI adviser, and develop exciting new business development opportunities including an AI Sandbox and Rapid Innovation Fund. You will also play a key role in building Elrha's internal AI strategy and ensuring our digital platforms remain fit for purpose.
Your application will need to demonstrate:
- Experience delivering digital or AI-enabled initiatives, with a good understanding of how AI is being adopted in practice across humanitarian or nonprofit organisations - including the governance challenges, ethical considerations, and barriers to scaling that commonly arise
- Experience contributing to business development, including developing funding concepts, concept notes or proposals for donors in the digital innovation or humanitarian technology space
- An understanding of responsible AI principles - including equity, inclusion, and what it means in practice to translate ethical frameworks into day-to-day institutional use - and the ability to act as an internal point of reference on these issues for colleagues

Responsibilities
· Assess and process all bursary applications, including Slater Scholarships, Worcester, Hanway and Green Skills bursaries against clearly defined eligibility criteria
· Authorise the award of financial bursaries and approve beneficiary claims and expenses
· Maximise the use bursary funding and ensure successful outcomes for beneficiaries
· Identify new bursary funding opportunities and devise bids in collaboration with the fundraising team
· Manage the bursary and Coming Ashore programme restricted funds. Monitor and report on expenditure and activity
· Manage the operation of the Coming Ashore mentoring programme and ensure its sustainability
· Produce statistical reports and analysis pertaining to bursaries and welfare services for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements
- Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualifications/experience
- In depth knowledge and understanding of the training needs of UK and international seafarers including their welfare and certification routes within the maritime sector both at sea and ashore

- Support the planning and development of the legacy and in-memory strategy, ensuring alignment with Barnardo's wider fundraising and organisational objectives.
- Manage in-memory income and legacy/in-memory expenditure budgets, including planning, phasing, monitoring and reporting against KPIs.
- Line manage and develop a team of Senior Legacy & In Memory Marketing Executives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Project manage a portfolio of legacy and in-memory campaigns, ensuring delivery to time, budget and compliance standards.
- Build strong internal relationships across Fundraising, Marketing, Digital, CRM & Insight and Children's Services to deliver integrated supporter journeys.
- Work with and manage external suppliers and agencies, ensuring effective delivery, compliance and value for money.

You will have:
- Substantial experience in legacy marketing, with a strong understanding of direct marketing and a proven track record of delivering successful campaigns.
- Experience of managing budgets and using insight and performance data to inform future planning and optimisation.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of managing, motivating and developing staff, ideally in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Sound knowledge of fundraising best practice, compliance requirements, GDPR and data protection.
- Excellent written communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
