To provide a professional and welcoming Reception service that contributes effectively to the positive image of The Passage. Senior Receptionist, with the support of the Receptionist, is responsible for the smooth-running of the Reception service and the reception area and will support the Facilities team with various administrative tasks where needed.

You will provide an efficient and helpful telephone service, meet and greet visitors and to offer general assistance to all who pass through the reception area. You will also be a point of reference for staff whereabouts and events taking place in the organisation. You will work collaboratively with the part-time Receptionist and provide support and line management to them.

Main Duties

• To operate the telephone in a professional manner, conveying accurate written and verbal messages at all times and passing on to the relevant staff member as soon as possible via phone, email or in person.

• To hold ownership of the Gallagher access passes system; including dealing with security access passes according to requirements, ensuring up to date information is logged, receive and record new starters and leavers information, working with People services and the Facilities teams to ensure requests are adhered to

• Implement our donations and delivery policy; making sure that donated items or deliveries are picked up or moved from Reception as soon as possible; keep a log off all donations and detail any follow up required

• To produce delegate lists for Cathedral View guests and support the Cathedral View team with administrative tasks where needed

• To assist with Cathedral View booking enquiries, being able to advise on venue details and availability and to follow up enquiries with written correspondence.

• Supervise the part-time receptionist and book any locums and/or volunteers to cover leave

• To answer the front door intercom and ascertain who the caller is and the nature of their visit.

General Responsibilities

• In conjunction with your line manager to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage.

• To participate in internal/external meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.

• To participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.  To carry out regular supervision meetings with the Receptionist, and their annual appraisal.

• To contribute to the effective implementation of The Passage’s Diversity and Equality Policy as it affects both The Passage and its work with vulnerable adults.

We are seeking a Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager to manage vital supporter partnerships to further our shared goal to end hunger worldwide. The Churchill Fellowship is a unique programme that empowers UK citizens to discover new solutions from around the world to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing communities in the UK. Purpose of the role:

Are you curious about the society we live in and passionate about making a difference? We’re looking for a creative, passionate and organised manager to join the newly established Activate Team.

The Activate Manager will manage the delivery of the new Activate Fund, which has been designed to enable Churchill Fellows to turn their ideas into action for the benefit of individuals and communities in the UK.

The role will also collaborate closely with the Research and Engagement team to design and deliver new forms of non-financial support for Fellows, enabling them to maximise the impact of their learning, and their potential to create change.

Key Responsibilities 

1. Application support

• Acting as the first point of contact for the Activate Fund, managing the inbox, responding to enquiries, providing empathetic and tailored support to applicants and grant holders.
•  Designing and delivering support for applicants, for example webinars, 1:1 surgeries, contributing to guidance materials and media content.
• Contributing to the development of Fund documentation, including updating email templates used at each stage of the selection process, in close collaboration with the Salesforce team.
• Participating in longlisting applications alongside the Head of Activate to create a strong shortlist for external panels.
• Co-ordinating the shortlisting and interview process: creating the interview timetable, inviting, briefing and training panel members, liaising with interview candidates, organizing relevant documentation, and supporting the smooth running of interviews.
• Working with the Communications team, supporting the development of key messaging in the run-up to the launch of the Activate Fund in Spring 2026, including drafting web copy and e-news, sourcing case studies and quotes.

2. Grants Management

• Liaising with Activate grant holders to ensure award documentation is signed and returned and responding to any queries.
• Being the main point of contact for Activate grantholders, offering or signposting appropriate advice and support to aid successful project delivery.
• Managing the reporting and payment process in close collaboration with the Salesforce and Finance teams, reviewing progress reports, approving payments and requests for changes to grant duration or budget allocation within agreed Fund parameters.

3. Capacity Building

• Exploring, designing and delivering or brokering a range of additional support for grant holders, such as coaching, mentoring, convening, network-building, skills development and action learning.
• Collaborating with colleagues in the Research and Engagement team to make sure this capacity-building programme complements the wider Fellowship offer.

4. Evaluation and learning 

• Supporting the ongoing improvement of the Activate Fund through analysis of application and award trends and by collecting and reviewing feedback, with a particular focus on EDI.
• Contributing to external evaluations and internal reviews of the impact of the Fund, as required, for example through the provision of monitoring data, sourcing of Fellows for interview.

5. Fellowship Team 

• As part of the Fellowship Team, contributing to the overall preparation and running of Connect and Inspire, the annual event for new Fellows, and the biennial Award Ceremony.
• Being a proactive and collaborative member of the team, providing support to colleagues where required during busy periods of the year and contributing to a culture of ongoing and open learning.

Person Specification

• Grant making experience with evidence of supporting the delivery of a selection process and/or managing a portfolio of grants.
• Experience of designing and delivering learning programmes, facilitating communities of practice and/or providing coaching/ mentoring to support individuals to achieve their potential.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

1. Operational Coordination (40%)

• Oversee day-to-day organisational operations, systems, and processes.

• Maintain and improve internal systems & processes (task & project management).

3. People & Culture (20%)

• Coordinate HR administration, recruitment logistics, and onboarding.

• Plan internal events, training sessions, and away days.

• Maintain accurate staff records and support internal communications.

4. Governance & Strategy Support (15%)

• Prepare and circulate Board and sub-committee papers.

• Maintain organisational policies and compliance registers.

• Monitor progress against operational plans and key performance measures.

• Support internal and external reporting requirements (funders, trustees, etc.).

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Essential

• Experience in operations, project management, or executive support.

• Proficiency in digital tools (e.g. Asana, Google Workspace, HR/CRM systems).

As a Senior Advisor, you will play a vital role in delivering professional and effective advice to a diverse range of service users. You will work within a dedicated team to provide advocacy, guidance, and casework support, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our beneficiaries

Purpose and Scope of the Role

To provide professional and effective advice and guidance to a broad range of service users of RMC in particular welfare benefits, housing, health and other generalist advice areas and experience of advice work dealing with asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants

· To provide appropriate support and mentoring to any volunteers under supervision. 

· To represent RMC at external meetings and events when required by the senior colleagues.

· To maintain effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders.

Gilgal Birmingham is a specialist domestic abuse charity providing refuge accommodation and community-based support for women and children at risk of, or experiencing, domestic abuse. We offer emergency refuge spaces and a growing range of outreach services that help women rebuild their lives, access safety, and move towards independence.

We are seeking a Grants and Trusts Manager to secure and manage the funding that enables this vital work. This is a key strategic role leading our grants, trusts, statutory funding and corporate income pipeline, working closely with the CEO and Senior Management Team. You will be responsible for prospect research, high-quality bid writing, reporting, and building strong relationships with funders and partners. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can manage the full fundraising lifecycle and contribute to the growth of a life-changing service.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning

• Work with the CEO to implement Gilgal’s Fundraising and Income Generation Strategy.

• Develop and maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and corporate partners.

• Prepare a rolling income generation plan with timelines and bid targets.

• Support the CEO in identifying opportunities for partnership bids and collaborative tenders.

Grants and Trusts

• Research and identify suitable funding opportunities aligned with Gilgal’s priorities.

• Develop strong, evidence-based funding proposals with clear outcomes and robust budgets.

• Coordinate with service leads and finance staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage the full bid lifecycle, from identification through to submission, monitoring, and evaluation.

• Maintain a funding tracker with deadlines, progress updates, and reporting requirements.

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, trusts, commissioners, and partners.

• Provide ongoing updates to funders to strengthen long-term partnerships.

• Attend relevant meetings, events, and briefings.

Reporting and Monitoring

• Produce clear, impact-focused reports for funders and stakeholders.

• Work with colleagues to collect and analyse outcomes data to inform bids and reporting.

• Review successful and unsuccessful bids to identify trends and improve future applications.

• Support the CEO and Finance Director in aligning budgets with funder requirements.
