The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Senior Communications Officer to join their Strategic Partnerships and Communications team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution.
As a Senior Communications Officer with Clean Air Fund you would help to support the Clean Air Fund’s communications and engagement with our key audiences of governments, funders, businesses, researchers, civil society organisations and campaigners. You will help proactively shape and deliver Clean Air Fund’s strategic communications activities to tackle global air pollution. You will lead our social media strategy and management to grow our digital audiences and foster deeper engagement. From delivering compelling content to executing digital campaigns to coordinating events, you’ll play a critical role in raising our profile and
supporting the clean air movement. Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day delivery of compelling communications and developing our digital channels. You will also support our wider campaigns across all our channels including earned and paid activities.
To be successful in this role you will have
- Proven experience in a wide-ranging communications role in a similar sector.
- Significant experience managing social media channels, and developing and delivering social media strategy.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing multichannel communications campaigns and plans.
- Experience managing projects and running events.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Experience creating and optimising a range of impactful content, from blogs and webpages to graphics and social assets.
- Excellent editorial and creative judgement.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to interact with a variety of people at different levels, and to adapt style and approach appropriately.

About You

You will have experience in developing a special events programme to support engagement and high value fundraising; understanding the importance of events within high value stewardship plans.
Your excellent relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills combined with your experience of working with a range of internal teams and external stakeholders will ensure that the needs of our high value funding audiences are met and understood.
You will be a highly experienced people manager and leader, possessing strong relationship and project management skills. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work across a number of conflicting deadlines and priorities. About the Role
As Senior Stewardship and Events Manager, you will be leading on the creation of ambitious funding propositions which will be attractive to high value donors and funders, working with key stakeholders from across the organisation to fully understand our existing services and transformational projects; translating complex information into compelling cases for support to be used by our High Value Partnerships team in funding applications, pitches and proposals. You will work closely with Recovery Services, Data and Insights and Finance teams to ensure all relevant information is gathered and reporting and evaluation processes are in place.
Working with your team and the wider High Value Partnerships team you will develop a special events programme to support engagement and fundraising, as well as leading on the development of developing engaging and relevant donor and prospect communications. You will work alongside the High Value Events Officer and other High Value Partnerships Senior Managers to conceptualise, plan and deliver a range of event types, offering a variety of activities to engage and inspire high value supporters, and ensure they are connected to, and inspired by, the work of Help for Heroes.

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.
In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to reverse this trend. We will achieve this by finding out what works to prevent youth violence and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. We do this by funding, evaluating and then spreading the very best work on reducing youth violence across England and Wales.
Central to this is the evaluation team. The team is responsible for commissioning and monitoring complex and rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field.
The Senior Evaluation Manager will play a key role in supporting the Assistant Director of Evaluation to lead elements of evaluation work. The post holder will also lead a team of two Evaluation Managers, ensuring they have the support to deliver a portfolio of evaluation projects.
Key responsibilities
The core of your job is to ensure that we are excellent at evaluation, so we can find out the best ways to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in violence.
Evaluation
Working with the Head of Evaluation the post holder will:

Implement the processes to assess the quality of evidence presented in funding applications and provide funding recommendations to the Grants and Evaluation Committee.

Shape the evaluation approach for individual grant rounds, including leading on this for a small number of rounds.

Provide technical expertise on evaluation to the team and lead the development of YEF’s thinking on one or more areas of evaluation.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Communications Officer to join our fast-paced organisation as we grow and maximise opportunities for national delivery. As part of a dynamic and friendly communications and marketing team, your role will help widely raise the profile of TAWS across all areas of work, from creating content for internal and external communications channels, optimising digital content for national reach, building relationships with strategic stakeholders online, to cultivating media relations and drafting impactful press releases.
This role is suited to someone with a passion from tackling inequalities and promoting community wellbeing, and a keen understanding of the social and political landscape in which we operate. You will play a key role in helping to bring the TAWS brand proposition to life, telling our story in compelling and engaging ways to a range of audiences. You will be able to think creatively and see the bigger picture, as well as be comfortable delivering key tasks such as producing a newsletter and social media content. You will be responsible for communications about our key projects, and priorities, taking complex and varied information and translating it into content that promotes the work of TAWS and its impact to diverse audiences.
We are working to a hybrid model across the organisation and value in-person contact. This role will require regular weekly working at our head office in Birmingham or other designated offices / locations across the city and travel and work from other locations outside of Birmingham as part of our national work.
Main duties
- Write and edit high quality engaging copy for sharing across internal and external marketing communications channels and in support of the strategic vision, mission and values of TAWS.
- Build organisational profile with key strategic audiences online on social media, the website, digital channels and through content creation.
- Support the development and execution of communications and marketing strategies, tactics and deliverables, in line with the brand proposition; develop and implement quarterly communications plans.
- Working with HR, lead and implement internal communications projects and plans including delivering a monthly internal newsletter and updating the intranet.
- Develop and deliver communications campaigns for positive social change.
- Track analytics and create regular reports detailing effectiveness of communications campaigns and our digital channels.
- Build and maintain relations with local and national media and identify opportunities to amplify our successes and impact.
- Draft press releases and respond to media requests.
- Ensure consistency in terms of tone of voice, branding, messaging and frequency of communications across all channels.
- Source, create, and post content for our social media accounts (using Sprout) and the website, working closely with a range of teams across the organisation including delivery, business development, funding and partnerships.
- Take complex and varied information and translate it into content that promotes the work of TAWS and its impact to diverse audiences
- Proof reading, research thematic issues, new digital tools and media channels.
- Monitor national and local trends, news and opportunities and provide regular internal briefings.
- Keep abreast of new and emergent thinking across wellbeing, community development and tackling inequalities.
- Maintain and update an organisational media library (photos, videos, stories, and audio) in line with data protection/consent.
- Capture and record media to promote projects and key priorities in line with data protection/consent
- Provide design support for comms collateral, reports, newsletters, brochures, flyers, posters and presentations using appropriate software (e.g., Canva, Adobe, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) for a range of audiences.
- Carry out all duties as may be reasonably assigned from time to time and within the level of this job description.
Knowledge,skills and experience
- A sound understanding of the UK social and political landscape and inequalities.

- Ability to develop strategic narratives that showcase our work and align with organisational goals.
- Demonstrable experience of producing a range of communications and marketing materials.
- Excellent social media and digital marketing skills to optimise content, thinking creatively about how to reach diverse audiences with key messages, and increase reach, engagement and impact.
- Excellent creative skills and a good eye for design – excellent IT skills and experience of using design software to create graphics and edit imagery.
- Excellent collaboration and networking skills, and ability to build rapport with key stakeholders internally, externally and with the media.
- Track record of working autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and challenging environment.

This is an exciting time to join Myeloma UK as we launch our new five year strategy.

This role will create and deliver supporter-centric and insight-driven retention campaigns to maximise the loyalty and income from our base of 30,000 individual giving supporters. Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, you will develop and assess a range of supporter journeys and asks to best retain supporters across regular giving, raffle, lottery, cash giving and legacy - through digital, telemarketing and direct mail channels.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and grow the supporter retention and engagement programme within an agreed annual budget and calendar. The successful candidate will be an experienced direct marketing and digital project manager and collaborative team player.
