Summary of the role:
This role will provide day-to-day administrative support and project support to the department head and the overall team to ensure the successful delivery of the organisation’s operations in an efficient manner. This role will focus on generating reports, tracking progress, and ensuring all the necessary processes relating to compliance, finance and HR are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
About the Role:
- Develop a thorough understanding of Muslim Aid’s work areas in order to ensure strategic linkages / appropriate dissemination of information or assignment of actions.
- Develop, maintain and review administrative systems to achieve maximum efficiency and to have high-level exposure across the organisation including admin, finance, IT, HR, supporter services, IP, comms etc.
- Prepare purchase orders and document payments according to Muslim Aid’s financial procedure and in conjunction with the Finance team to ensure speedy payment of invoices for internal / external stakeholders.
- Assist the Head of Income Generation and Marketing with the preparation of PowerPoint presentations, documents, briefing papers, action points and reports as requested and to track work across all relevant departments to ensure the nominated Manager undertakes action within the agreed timeframe.
- Provide administrative support to Head of Income Generation and Marketing in preparing and drafting correspondence, booking meetings, minute-taking, planning and supporting events, organising travel and preparing travel itineraries and relevant tasks as required by the Head of Income Generation and Marketing.
- Be the gatekeeper and first point of contact to stakeholders, assessing priorities, redirecting calls, enquiries, and face to face meeting appointments.

Your Role
Al-Khair Foundation uses Salesforce to manage relationships with our donors, supporters, and stakeholders, including recording all donations made to the organisation. Al-Khair Foundation’s Database Officer will be responsible for the monthly delivery of the income and data reconciliation processes for the Fundraising teams, which includes liaising with a wide range of external agencies and the website to successfully download and query files, update and create new supporter records on the database, process cheques and payment requests, and work closely with the Finance team to ensure all anticipated and banked income tallies correctly.
You will also work closely with colleagues in the Database team to support and maintain regular database processes, data cleansing, and other database-related functions that happen on a monthly or quarterly basis. This may include responding to and being responsible for Support Ticket queries in relation to income, data, and/or the database generally and working with external database agencies such as our web platform partners and Salesforce.
Aside from these core duties, from time to time, you may also carry out general administrative tasks on behalf of the Supporter Engagement team. This may include supporting the Supporter Care Assistant during busy periods with customer care via email and telephone and recording updates, processing invoices, and maintaining and updating team rotas and trackers.
Your Responsibilities

Bonny Downs Community Association has been working together to change lives and transform our community since 1998. Over the past 25 years our team has grown to provide a wide array of services that benefit Newham residents from all walks of life.
This role is specifically funded through the Youth Endowment fund as a pilot project ‘Thriving Communities’. You will be required to work alongside Thriving Communities commissioners, as well as the project’s Youth Justice Worker’s, Educational Psychologist, and/or professionals assigned to individual young people’s cases- such as teachers, social workers and mentors. The Thriving Communities project is a small part of a wider collaborative project, EMPOWER YOUTH, delivered by two partner charities so, although this position is based at BDCA, you will be working closely with a second East Ham Youth Partnership Project lead and team of Sessional Assistants based at nearby charity The Renewal Programme (TRP). Staff from each organisation will work together to deliver the programme and cross-refer young people to activities led by both teams. You will also be required to work with BDCA’s own Children & Families team during the summer scheme and liaise with our marketing team all year round. External partner agencies that you will work directly with include Thriving Communities panel, Newham Youth Empowerment Service, Newham Community Engagement Team, local sports clubs and schools.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications professional to join our team and support both the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King and the wider archdiocese in developing engaging communications and marketing our events and initiatives. It is an exciting time for the Cathedral as our retail and hospitality outlets are redeveloped. Based within the Communications and IT Team within the Chief Operating Officer’s Department you will support the sharing of the good news of the archdiocese both internally and externally within our parishes, with clergy, schools, officers and stakeholders. As a team we are focussed on growing and developing our existing platforms including our websites and social media channels, as well as supporting the Archbishop, our parishes, clergy and other departments with communication and marketing needs. This role will also lead on supporting the archdiocese in telling the story of the Cathedral, past, present and future and helping build the vision of the new Visitor Centre. We are seeking an experienced professional who can help us translate our vision and engage with our communities and visitors to our city. The successful post-holder will work between St Margaret Clitherow Centre and the Cathedral (2 days per week), with travel across the Archdiocese as required. We’re looking for a creative and confident Content & Communications Coordinator to join our busy Marketing & Communications Team at Imperial College Union. This new role will be key in strengthening our online presence and improving student engagement with the Union. The successful candidate will manage our social media channels and content to drive two-way conversations, to increase awareness of the Union’s work, and help us better understand what they care about.
You will be our in-house journalist; planning and delivering content that speaks to our varied audiences. You’ll build strong relationships across the Union and College, writing creative copy and curating innovative social media content. Using your in-depth knowledge of social media, you will be aware of emerging trends across all platforms and create content that attracts and retains the interest and attention of our members. You will work closely with colleagues across the Union, including our elected Officer Trustees, to support them to reach more students and deliver key messages. This role is integral to supporting the diverse work the Union does – everything from Activities

Duties and responsibilities
Content Planning
- To assist in the creation of communications and content plans to support the Marketing & Engagement Manager in the delivery of key Union marketing activity, such as Welcome Week and election.
- In partnership with the Marketing & Engagement Manager devise a social schedule to ensure regular, timely and impactful content across these channels
- Build networks with student groups, the Union’s newspaper (Felix) and external partners to develop opportunities for content collaboration
- Utilise student feedback and engagement with Union content to continue to improve and develop our output and channels
- Work with the Student Officer team to promote their public profiles and provide support on their campaigns.
- Stay up to date with what’s happening across the Union, College, the city and wider student movement to stay current and spot positive PR opportunities and content.
Content Creation & Curation
- Ensure timely, relevant and engaging content for Union channels & platforms, including blogs, website, social media and news
- Write, proof and edit a variety of digital communications across the organisation, such as blogs and web content to ensure brand and tone of voice is consistent and correct
- Attend student events to capture photos and videos content to use for marketing purposes and provide live social media coverage to a high standard
- Work with Designer to turn copy into engaging, high quality assets
- Have your finger on the pulse for all latest trends for the student audience and evaluate their feasibility without audiences and available resources
- Be aware of shareable, engaging content, sourcing content from external channels to build an engaged following and boost our content on social media
- Establish and work with student and staff social ambassadors in gathering stories and content
General
- Regularly monitor and report on content to inform improvements and innovations
- Monitor and moderate social posts and comments and respond or escalate in line with the Union’s Crisis Comms plan
- Support key events throughout the year, including Welcome Week and Elections, when necessary
- Proactively work to ensure the Union’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is expressed in all outputs
Essential requirements
- Experience of developing and delivering communications plans campaigns with clear metrics of success
- Solid knowledge of website analytics tools to help monitor and generate useful reports and insights
- Experience in managing content calendars
- Experience of, or strong understanding of, producing web content and an organisation’s social media presence
- Writing copy, editing, and proofreading for online media, demonstrating excellent attention to detail
- Monitoring the effectiveness of communications activity and able to present appropriate recommendations for improvement and innovation
- Good software knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
- Strong understanding of social media channels and their tools
- A passion for social media and keen to learn about new technologies and innovations
- Excellent planning and organisation abilities
- A keen eye for detail, layout and visual styles and experience of working according to brand guidelines
- An engaging writing style and the ability to convey complex messages to a variety of audiences
- Confident working to deadlines and keeping colleagues on top of deadline
- Ability to ensure high standards of work and excellent attention to detail
