Job Summary

The Senior Partnership Officer will play a pivotal role in building, strengthening and diversifying Bipolar UK’s high‑value relationships, with a particular emphasis on corporate fundraising and identifying strategic, mutually beneficial collaborations that support the charity’s long‑term needs.

Working closely with the Strategic Partnership Manager, you will manage and grow our portfolio of major donors, corporate supporters, and strategic partners. You will provide exceptional stewardship, ensuring partners feel valued, engaged, and inspired to deepen their relationship with us.

A key part of the role will involve proactively identifying and cultivating new corporate prospects, developing compelling propositions, crafting funding proposals, and pitching confidently to decision‑makers at all levels. You will help implement robust cultivation plans and ensure effective monitoring and evaluation across all partnership activity.

You will also work collaboratively across the wider Fundraising Team - including with the Fundraising Officer - supporting campaigns, events, and individual giving where needed.

This is a home‑based position with travel required for meetings and events across the UK. Some evening or weekend work may be required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Growing Corporate and Strategic Partnerships

• Drive the growth of corporate fundraising through proactive identification, research and cultivation of new corporate prospects.
• Develop innovative, mutually beneficial partnership opportunities, including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Charity of the Year, sponsorships, staff fundraising, corporate challenge events, payroll giving and cause‑related marketing.
• Create compelling propositions tailored to corporate audiences.
• Lead and support pitches to secure long‑term, strategic and income‑generating partnerships.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. Services, Communications) to co‑design new partnership concepts, projects or services that align with charity priorities.
• Support the development of partnership agreements and ensure expectations, deliverables and benefits are clearly defined.
• Work to a mutually agreed financial target and use the CRM to track and record relevant data to grow our donor pipeline.

2. Strengthening High‑Value Donor & Partner Stewardship

• Deliver excellent relationship management to major donors, corporate partners and strategic allies.
• Provide regular updates on impact and organisational achievements to deepen engagement.
• Organise meetings, briefings, events and engagement opportunities to showcase our work.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all interactions on Salesforce.
• Create tailored materials, proposals and events to support ongoing partnership activity.
• Represent Bipolar UK through presentations at corporate and partner events.
• Track performance and impact of partnerships, supporting continuous improvement.

3. Supporting Wider Fundraising

• Work collaboratively with the Fundraising Officer, SPM and wider team to maximise fundraising opportunities across all income streams.
• Provide hands‑on support for individual giving campaigns, events and community fundraising when needed.
• Contribute to team planning, cross‑team projects, and organisational initiatives.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in major donor fundraising, corporate fundraising or partnership development.
• Proven track record of generating new business at 5 and 6 figure levels - from prospecting through to securing partnerships.
• Experience working to, and achieving, income targets.
• Strong understanding of the corporate sector, CSR and corporate fundraising mechanisms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering pitches and proposals.
• Excellent project and time‑management skills.
• Understanding of ethical fundraising and GDPR compliance.
• Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office and quick to adopt new technologies.

Desirable:

• Experience within a mental health or health‑related charity.
• Understanding of bipolar gained through lived experience or supporting a friend or family member.

About the role:

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and personable experienced fundraiser to become a valued part of our close-knit team.

Reporting to the Community, Corporate and Events Lead, this role supports our ambition to generate income through community fundraising, corporate partnerships, and a wide range of events. You will proactively manage projects and build strong relationships with individuals, businesses and community groups, while also line-managing two enthusiastic team members.

Alongside maximising opportunities with our existing supporters, you will play a key role in developing and nurturing new ideas, partnerships and activities. Your work will help to grow this vital income stream and ensure we continue to connect meaningfully with the communities and organisations that champion Princess Alice Hospice.

About you:

For you the supporter is key, whether they’re a running in a marathon, holding a tea party, or a corporate partnership taking part in an international sponsored bike ride.

You’ll be enthusiastic, highly organised, and able to multitask effectively. With strong verbal and written communication skills, you’ll also have some experience in charity fundraising, particularly community fundraising—whether voluntary or paid. Strong in administrative tasks, you’ll be confident in managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail. Above all, you’ll be passionate about community fundraising and building meaningful connections to support a great cause.

What the job involves

Our Events and Community Fundraising team raises vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK through a wide range of activities, events and challenge events. As Senior Community Fundraising Executive, you’ll be a key member of our sector-leading team, raising over £5 million each year from individuals organising their own fundraising events and local-level corporate partnerships.

You’ll work closely with the Community Fundraising Manager to identify, test and develop new opportunities across our community fundraising programme, supporting our ambitious five-year strategy and growth plans. You’ll project manage mass-market fundraising campaigns to recruit, convert and inspire community fundraisers, working in partnership with colleagues and external agencies to brief, plan, deliver and evaluate paid marketing activity.

A key part of your role will be to design and own supporter journeys that use innovation, technology and personalisation to deliver an exceptional supporter experience. You’ll develop and maintain fundraising resources and incentives, making sure they’re effective, easy to use and continually improving. You’ll also be hands-on with supporters, building relationships with some of our top fundraisers and corporate partners to deepen engagement, strengthen loyalty and help them maximise their fundraising.

What we want from you

You’ll bring experience working in community or events fundraising, with a clear understanding of what motivates supporters and how to give them an outstanding experience. Confident in managing multiple projects at pace, you balance creativity with excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail. You thrive in a varied, fast‑moving environment, taking initiative and using insight to guide your decisions.

Your communication skills will really shine. You’ll write warm, motivating messages that connect with people at every stage of their fundraising journey, and you’ll be confident speaking with supporters; whether that’s one-to-one, in front of a group or over the phone. Personable, proactive and empathetic, you’ll build trust quickly and represent the charity with professionalism and passion.

You’ll be comfortable with digital marketing campaigns and using data to evaluate activity, spot patterns and make improvements. You’ll have experience using CRM systems to record accurate information and you’ll take pride in delivering high‑quality work. You’ll also bring sound judgement when handling sensitive data or supporting fundraisers taking on deeply personal challenges.

How and where we work

Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part-time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support projects and decision-making. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.

Additional in-person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues.

War Child believes that children’s lives should not be torn apart by war. It is the only specialist charity for children affected by conflict, with four main areas of work: protecting children, educating children, supporting communities and campaigning. The charity are renowned for their creative, innovative and entrepreneurial approach, with strong connections to the gaming, music and creative industries. 

Philanthropy is a central driver of War Child’s growth. Income has risen rapidly, underpinned by exceptional networks, high-profile supporters and a highly successful portfolio of events and experiences. Following a strategic review, War Child is now investing in a more structured, sustainable approach to philanthropy fundraising with two clearly defined strands: one focused on traditional major donor relationship management and pipeline growth, and a second dedicated to high-value events and experiences as a core driver of major donor engagement and income. This role has been created to lead the second strand.

While the Senior Philanthropy Manager’s primary focus will be generating income from a warm portfolio of major donors, they will also take strategic ownership of War Child’s high-value philanthropy events, shaping donor engagement rather than delivering events operationally. This is an autonomous, externally-facing role, unlocking influential networks and converting high-profile engagement into long-term philanthropic partnerships.

Please note that this is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days per week in the Camden office, with regular events and meetings in central London.

As Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will:

• Manage and develop a portfolio of donors and warm prospects capable of giving 6-figure gifts, including high-value donors currently sitting with senior leadership
• Take strategic ownership of War Child’s high-value events as a core driver of the major donor pipeline, shaping and strengthening this strand so it becomes a defined, sustainable part of the philanthropy programme
• Lead on donor engagement around events, including narrative, asks, pledge levels, follow-up and conversion to income
• Analyse and prioritise prospects with the Data & Insights Manager to focus effort on the highest-value opportunities
• Unlock and activate influential networks through ambassadors, senior volunteers and high-profile supporters
• Work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, Data & Insights Manager, Events Producer, and Principal Giving Lead

Essential skills and experience:

• Significant experience of high-value major donor fundraising, with a track record of securing £50k+ gifts from HNWIs
• Strong experience of developing donors through identification, cultivation, solicitation and long-term stewardship
• Credibility and confidence working with wealthy, influential individuals, advisers, celebrities and senior volunteers
• Experience of shaping donor engagement strategy around high-value events or pledge environments
• Strategic thinker with strong judgement on prospect prioritisation and pipeline management
• Excellent relationship management, influencing and written communication skills
• Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-moving, high-profile environment

Desirable:

• Experience of pledge dinners or high-value special events at a strategic fundraising level

About Spotlight

Spotlight on Corruption is a UK based charity which aims to end impunity for corruption, promote political integrity within the UK, and ensure the UK acts as a global leader on fighting corruption. We are a bold, expert voice that pushes forward the anti-corruption agenda in a pragmatic and credible way, consistently punching above our weight in holding the government to account for taking action against corruption, cronyism, and dirty money in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver Spotlight’s day to day communications and public messaging to ensure we achieve real reforms and impact in tackling corruption and protecting UK democracy. 

• Secure strategic and influential media coverage by developing and maintaining relationships with journalists, developing ideas for stories, and identifying key communication opportunities to get Spotlight’s messages across, including by monitoring daily news.

Working arrangements

Full-time, 35 hours per week. Working from home required, but with one day a week in the office near London Bridge. Must be based in or near London. We support flexible working arrangements and operate a nine day fortnight. Attendance at networking events and being on-call for media work outside of office hours occasionally required.
